Comment: Obama's view of the future of America - Socialism which is the next step to Communism!!

Under socialism a ruling class of intellectuals, bureaucrats and social planners decide what people want or what is good for society and then use the coercive power of the State to regulate, tax, and redistribute the wealth of those who work for a living. In other words, socialism is a form of legalized theft.

The morality of socialism can be summed-up in two words: envy and self-sacrifice. Envy is the desire to not only possess another's wealth but also the desire to see another's wealth lowered to the level of one's own. Socialism's teaching on self-sacrifice was nicely summarized by two of its greatest defenders, Hermann Goering and Bennito Mussolini. The highest principle of Nazism (National Socialism), said Goering, is: "Common good comes before private good." Fascism, said
Mussolini, is "a life in which the individual, through the sacrifice of his own private interests??realizes that completely spiritual existence in which his value as a man lies."

Socialism is the social system which institutionalizes envy and self-sacrifice: It is the social system which uses compulsion and the organized violence of the State to expropriate wealth from the producer class for its redistribution to the parasitical class.

Despite the intellectuals' psychotic hatred of capitalism, it is the only moral and just social system.

Capitalism is the only moral system because it requires human beings to deal with one another as traders--that is, as free moral agents trading and selling goods and services on the basis of mutual consent.

Capitalism is the only just system because the sole criterion that determines the value of thing exchanged is the free, voluntary, universal judgement of the consumer. Coercion and fraud are anathema to the free-market system.

It is both moral and just because the degree to which man rises or falls in society is determined by the degree to which he uses his mind. Capitalism is the only social system that rewards merit, ability and achievement, regardless of one's birth or station in life.

    Yes, there are winners and losers in capitalism. The winners are those who are honest, industrious, thoughtful, prudent, frugal, responsible, disciplined, and efficient. The losers are those who are shiftless, lazy, imprudent, extravagant, negligent, impractical, and inefficient. [What about the role of luckbeing in the right place at the right time or the wrong place at the wrong time? R. R. Pope}

Capitalism is the only social system that rewards virtue and punishes vice. This applies to both the business executive and the carpenter, the lawyer and the factory worker.

Comment: In the interview of Michelle Bernard about Sarah Palin titled " You Have to Love a Woman with Moxy", she says her father was repeatedly fired because he refused to walk through the back door of the country clubs he worked at. She said, "as a black man he was told he had to walk through the back door". She looks too young for her father to have worked at country clubs prior to the time laws were passed to prohibit that kind of demand. As a previous country club worker myself, I had to walk through the back door as all employees did. I am a white female. How old is she and which country clubs made that kind of demand?

    Comment: THE AFFIRMATIVE ACTION CANDIDATE!

NEVER IN THE HISTORY OF THIS COUNTRY HAS A PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE BEEN GIVEN SUCH A FREE PASS BY THE PRESS AND JUST ABOUT EVERYONE ELSE!

I AM WAITING FOR A BLACK PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE TO MAKE IT ON HIS OWN MERIT.

Comment: Tyra Banks is the biggist narcissist in the entertainment industry. Does anyone watch America's Next Top Model or her talkshow? She is absolutely crazy and the shows are painful to watch. She always finds a way to talk about herself and how great she is regardless of the situation. Watching her interview with Obama was almost embarrassing as she inquired whether he wears boxers or briefs. She will never be Oprah and it is almost insulting that someone would compare the two women.

Comment: I respect you because you have worked hard and done well, but you still put up with a modeling system that hurts women, and you do make money doing it. That's not the way it should be. Please rethink some of your choices and do more for women who don't look like models, who aren't tall and think with large foreheads, because women all over need a role model that fights FOR them. Good luck.

Comment: In a few weeks we will make a choice that will decide our future.
I follow an economist named Bob Proctor. He has called the top and bottom of every market crash since the 70s correctly.
Also, he perfectly predicted the current real estate market meltdown and the picture he paints about what will happen in the next couple years
is terrifying. He thinks it will be worse then the great depression.
The banks in the U.S. are going under one after the other. Countrywide ,Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch , Fanny and Freddy Mae ,AIG
The government took them over because they are essentially bankrupt. Even with the goverment nationalizing hundreds of billions of dollars in debt the stock market is crashing
the credit markets are frozen and all of us may suffer beyond anything in the last 80 years.
McCain just like Bush " doesn't understand the economy".
That not just my opinion its his own words. Not only does he not understand how to fix it but he does not understand exactly what is broken.
It is no surprise that he doesn't. The people that make up these securities use complex mathematical models very few people understand.
Bush and McCain both can take the credit for this mess since they helped deregulate the laws that were protecting us.
Bush's economic advisor Phil Graham wrote the deregulation bill that allowed banks to take huge risks with all of our future.
Now, Phil Graham is the head of McCain's economic policy. He is also McCain's choice for the next secretary of the treasury.
No one in this country can afford for that to happen. The last time Bush met with his economic advisors was in March. He didnt realize that anything was wrong. Phil Graham had the guts to say that we are in a mental recession after he helped create the worst economy meltdown in our lifetime. Check out this link to the truth http://my.barackobama.com/keatingvideo
It will take the best and brightest minds in the world to get us out of this nightmare. As bad as Bush has done, McCain would be
even more destructive because things are in much worse shape. The next president will not inherit a surplus like Bush did but a crashing economy and a 11,600,000,000,000 (trillion) dollars deficit. Most of it Bush created and it will take decades to pay it back.
If you do what you have always done then you will get what you have always got.
When it comes to policy Bush and McCain are the same 90 percent of the time.
So why are the polls even close then ?
Mccains team just said they no longer want to talk about the economy.Instead they would like to spend time talking about obama
which means running the biggest smear campaign in history.
They think they can just tell you lies and you wont be smart enough to see through it
Let's teach him we are smarter than that .
    Elect Obama Biden 2008

Comment: We need more articles about supermodels with pictures. They are America's leaders that people look up to. The hotter, the more powerful. Take Cindy Crawford for example. She has her own line of furniture, does commercials, is kinda elderly and is still hot. Plus, she is heterosexual. That's important, too. Now THAT is leadership.
    Thank you.

Comment: "Not all Democrats agree with Mr. Frank that such policies are off-limits to criticism. Last week Rep. Artur Davis of Alabama said in a statement: 'Like a lot of my Democratic colleagues I was too slow to appreciate the recklessness of Fannie and Freddie. I defended their efforts to encourage affordable homeownership, when in retrospect, I should have heeded the concerns raised by their regulator in 2004. Frankly, I wish my Democratic colleagues would admit when it comes to Fannie and Freddie, we were wrong.'

"Mr. Davis is a member of the Congressional Black Caucus."

    'Rank snobbery'

Camille Paglia, who supports Sen. Barack Obama, has nothing but scorn for the way the media has treated Sarah Palin.

"The mountain of rubbish poured out about Palin over the past month would rival Everest. What a disgrace for our jabbering army of liberal journalists and commentators, too many of whom behaved like snippy jackasses," Miss Paglia writes at www.salon.com.

"The bourgeois conventionalism and rank snobbery of these alleged humanitarians stank up the place. As for Palin's brutally edited interviews with Charlie Gibson and that viper, Katie Couric, don't we all know that the best bits ended up on the cutting-room floor? Something has gone seriously wrong with Democratic ideology, which seems to have become a candied set of holier-than-thou bromides attached like tutti-frutti to a quivering green Jell-O mold of adolescent sentimentality."

Comment: Women and Leadership --- What a great headline! What a disappointment that you lead with a story on Tyra Banks?! She may be successful and she may be producing revenue...

But how can you possibly use her as a "model" to define a LEADER?!?!?!?!?!?! I feel like a fool that's been lured into the Big Top by a clever Circus Barker.

    C'mon Newsweek... we'll give you a "do-over"...

Do the right thing and give America a series of stories about women who LEAD - Women who contribute - Women who sacrfice -

We will all be waiting for the real articles.

    A loyal but disappointed reader.

    ...and, a Leader.

Comment: How is producing a show like, "America's Next Top Model" leadership? The modeling world does not offer one ounce of leadership for women. It creates more problems for them. It totally is focused on image and beauty and in no way helps to develop a woman's mind or intellect. I respect an individual's right to enter the modeling world and be a part of the fasion industry, but I don't think it really helps women. It wasn't until Tyra started producing her own talk show that we saw she could be influencial and contribute in a more meaningful way.

    Comment: The Antichrist!:
When George Soros failed to obtain the election of his candidate, John Kerry, in 2004, he brooded for a while, even said he might get out of politics altogether, but he just couldn???t stop himself. He has stated publicly that he wishes to burst the ???bubble of American supremacy,??? because he says our preeminence in the world is a detriment to global ???equilibrium.??? So far, he has failed, but he keeps on trying.

And Mr. Soros has made no secret either of the fact that he sees the shortest way to effect political shake-ups, what he terms ???regime changes,??? is through very difficult economic conditions.

America has not yet felt the full force of Soros style economic shock treatment. But others have.

Soros made his first billion in 1992 by shorting the British pound with leveraged billions in financial bets, and became known as the man who broke the Bank of England. He broke it on the backs of hard-working British citizens who immediately saw their homes severely devalued and their life savings cut drastically in comparative worth almost overnight.

When the Asian Financial Crisis of 1997 threatened to spread globally, George Soros was right in the thick of it. Soros was accused by the Malaysian Prime Minister of causing the collapse with his monetary machinations, and he was branded in Thailand as an ???economic war criminal??? who ???sucks the blood from the people.??? Right in the middle of this crisis, Soros dashed off his book, The Crisis of Global Capitalism, which demanded a ???third way??? toward economic stability.

Wake up, America, before it is too late!!!!

Comment: Comment: Are you kidding me? I open to "Women and Leadership" and see Tyra Banks? Dara Torres? Rosario Dawson? Anna Sui? Cynthia Nixon? Not to take away from the accomplishments of these women, but leadership? The real leaders are either missing or buried in the back. Insulting.

Comment: Tyra, I honestly used to respect you and think you really were a leader for women and especially girls. Yesterday while volunteering with a beautiful fourth grader, I thought she was chewing gum and asked her to get rid of it. Turns out she was chewing on paper. Guess why? "Tyra said on her show that if you chew paper you won't be hungry." THINK about the things you advertise and advice you give... you are adversely affecting young women and their self image.

Comment: you know, a little googling the words tyra and "chew on paper" would have led you to the show she had on EATING DISORDERS, one of which was chewing on paper. It seems like basic common sense would have led you to look into this a little further to fully understand what the child saw and heard or what she thinks she saw and heard. that kind of thing would had hit the celebrities THINK before condemming
