Women and Leadership --- What a great headline! What a disappointment that you lead with a story on Tyra Banks?! She may be successful and she may be producing revenue...

But how can you possibly use her as a "model" to define a LEADER?!?!?!?!?!?! I feel like a fool that's been lured into the Big Top by a clever Circus Barker.

    C'mon Newsweek... we'll give you a "do-over"...

Do the right thing and give America a series of stories about women who LEAD - Women who contribute - Women who sacrfice -

We will all be waiting for the real articles.

    A loyal but disappointed reader.

    ...and, a Leader.

Where are the articles written by female leaders?

How is producing a show like, "America's Next Top Model" leadership? The modeling world does not offer one ounce of leadership for women. It creates more problems for them. It totally is focused on image and beauty and in no way helps to develop a woman's mind or intellect. I respect an individual's right to enter the modeling world and be a part of the fasion industry, but I don't think it really helps women. It wasn't until Tyra started producing her own talk show that we saw she could be influencial and contribute in a more meaningful way.

    The Antichrist!:
When George Soros failed to obtain the election of his candidate, John Kerry, in 2004, he brooded for a while, even said he might get out of politics altogether, but he just couldn???t stop himself. He has stated publicly that he wishes to burst the ???bubble of American supremacy,??? because he says our preeminence in the world is a detriment to global ???equilibrium.??? So far, he has failed, but he keeps on trying.

And Mr. Soros has made no secret either of the fact that he sees the shortest way to effect political shake-ups, what he terms ???regime changes,??? is through very difficult economic conditions.

America has not yet felt the full force of Soros style economic shock treatment. But others have.

Soros made his first billion in 1992 by shorting the British pound with leveraged billions in financial bets, and became known as the man who broke the Bank of England. He broke it on the backs of hard-working British citizens who immediately saw their homes severely devalued and their life savings cut drastically in comparative worth almost overnight.

When the Asian Financial Crisis of 1997 threatened to spread globally, George Soros was right in the thick of it. Soros was accused by the Malaysian Prime Minister of causing the collapse with his monetary machinations, and he was branded in Thailand as an ???economic war criminal??? who ???sucks the blood from the people.??? Right in the middle of this crisis, Soros dashed off his book, The Crisis of Global Capitalism, which demanded a ???third way??? toward economic stability.

Wake up, America, before it is too late!!!!

Comment: Are you kidding me? I open to "Women and Leadership" and see Tyra Banks? Dara Torres? Rosario Dawson? Anna Sui? Cynthia Nixon? Not to take away from the accomplishments of these women, but leadership? The real leaders are either missing or buried in the back. Insulting.

Tyra, I honestly used to respect you and think you really were a leader for women and especially girls. Yesterday while volunteering with a beautiful fourth grader, I thought she was chewing gum and asked her to get rid of it. Turns out she was chewing on paper. Guess why? "Tyra said on her show that if you chew paper you won't be hungry." THINK about the things you advertise and advice you give... you are adversely affecting young women and their self image.

you know, a little googling the words tyra and "chew on paper" would have led you to the show she had on EATING DISORDERS, one of which was chewing on paper. It seems like basic common sense would have led you to look into this a little further to fully understand what the child saw and heard or what she thinks she saw and heard. that kind of thing would had hit the celebrities THINK before condemming
