dmmelvin1, if the election was between Palin and Obama -- NO VP -- who will you choose? Just wanna ascertain you're not thinking from the bottom, up. That's called rectal aneurysm.

I cannot, under any circumstances, vote for Obama. It's a character and judgement issue for me. I just don't trust him. If your question had been, who would I vote for, Palin or Hilary Clinton, then I would say Clinton. Does that make me Rectal, or whatever?
I have yet to figure this out. Obama has basically no leadership experience, and Palin is a Governor and former Mayor. When these articles are written, how dumb do they think we are. He has never lead anything? It's indisputable. I'll send someone $100 if they can give me one example of something he has been in charge of. oh, a community activist does not count. Any mo ron can call themselves that. Thank god i'm not a government parasite like dems. How do you even live with yourself.
Better not let Joe get mauled.\ by a bear.
Boring, boring, boring. Yawn...Why did you spend paper on that ridiculous woman? She appeals to the lowest common denominator of our society. Is that who you cater to?
Boring, Boring, Boring.........Palin is old news now...won't have to read or listen about her crap too much longer.....Yawn....Why don't you write about something important...like the evil Dick Cheney that has been running the White House for 8 years....
Pailin and McCain appeal to folks who really do not want anyone of color in the White House. Their campaign is based on that fact....that no one wants to clearly admit that the US has history of excluding minorities doesn't make this not a true statement. Tell the truth at least to yourself .
Neither M
Scarry, really scarry. Which would be right up there with Senator McCain's comment about being "dangerous." And to think this is the man who suspended his campaign and puts the Country First. His judgement is DANGEROUS, as he attempts to put winning above all else.
WOW, can't believe that some people are that dumb to believe that amount of crap about Obama. People here are so stupid to buy McBush's FEAR TACTICS ("muslim", "terrorist connections", "elitist", "liberal", "socialist", "just a community organizer", etc). Everything has been proven lies and smears... or half truths. The funny thing is that Bush, McCain and the republicans in general don't care about YOU... they don't give a damn about your economy or your health. Look at the economy that your beloved Bush is leaving after Clinton's administration. The funny thing is that most likely YOU will benefit from Obama's policies if he gets elected. Let???s talk about FACTS. Republicans have bankrupted this country, why?
It is SCARY that the comparisons in education are as follows and that some people SERIOUSLY think that McCain and, especially, Palin are more qualified than Obama and Biden. Some people didn't have enough with an idiot like Bush, now they want 2 idiots. Wow,really?
Obama:
Columbia University - B.A. Political Science with a Specialization in International Relations.
Harvard - Juris Doctor (J.D.) Magna ***-Laude
Biden:
University of Delaware - B.A. in history, B.A. in political science.
Syracuse University College of Law - Juris Doctor
vs.
McCain:
Naval Academy - Class rank 894/899
Palin:
Hawaii Pacific University - 1 semester
North Idaho College - 2 semesters - general study
University of Idaho - 2 semesters journalism
Matanuska-Susitna College - 1 semester
University of Idaho - 3 semesters - B.A. in journalism
Why do the Republicans election after election, insist on running the least intelligent, the least sophisticated and the least qualified candidates they can find?
>>>> republicans: guys who take pride in their ignorance!
Let me scare the HELL out of you.
I one was of seven children. My family was poor. My father worked 2 jobs most of the time and 3 when he found time.
My father became a Republican because of government giveaways of his hardearned money. He would not accept government handouts and neither would I. We felt that if we could not make it on our own, then we would work harder and longer. He passed away in 1993 at the age of 80 and never once asked for help from anyone.
Following is my education, experience and accomplishments. Try to match it without government help. It can be done.
. I graduated from high school at age 16 about the middle of my class
. I served 4 years in the US Air Force beginning at age 17 and was in the US Air Force Security Service which fell under the National Security Agency.
. I worked four years as a Mechanic in an electrical power plant. Out of 335 employees, 10, including me. were selcted as candidates and trainees for Computer Systems Analyst positions. For 3 years, I became the one person responsible for all power plant programs that operated electrical generators from Houston, Tx to New orleans, La.
I worked for a major oil company for 27 years and retired at age 55. I worked as a Computer Systems Analyst for 5 years, a Comp. Operations Supervisor for 4 years, a Comp. Client Services Manager for 2 years and a Comp Svcs Manager in Employee Relations for the last 16 years, For those 16 years, I was responsible for employee and retiree online personnel records and online benefits records for 60,000 employees and 30,000 retirees, and for producing 130,000 paychecks for a billion dollars a month. My annual budget was about $10 million per year, including salaries for about 100 employees.
I went to college while providing for my wife and 2 children, but was never able to get a college degree. I didn't wait for success to come to me. Am I qualified to be president? I would say compared to Obama. I am more ready than he is. My background is clean, I have years of management budgeting and operation. I knew how to make things happen and how to get the job done. I was always honest and never associated with anyone that had a shady background or hated this country. I believe in this country and my fellow Americans. I am from the old school where you only reap the harvest that you earn. The American government gave me the opportunity and I took full advantage of it. That is what America is all about.
I have always loved and respected this country, even when it failed! The American people have always rebounded without the help of the government. And, I have always sang the Anthem and quoted the Pledge of Allegiance. I have always saluted the flag and/or placed my hand over my heart. I am a proud American for what my country did for me and what I gave my country. I am only one of the many Americans that still believes in this country and will vote for John McCain.
Also, lib whiners, do you agree with Biden that it is "fair" to raise taxes on those who make over 250k a year? The majority of these people are small business owners, who employ far more workers in the US than large corporations do. When their taxes are raised, they cut their biggest expense; employees.
Isn't it odd how Obama talks about how he would eliminate capital gains taxes on small businesses...when small businesses DON'T PAY capital gains taxes in the first place? His ignorant supports think "oh wow, Obama wants to help the little guy, gee isn't that great?!". Not only would he 'eliminate' a nonexistant tax, he would raise their income taxes, which they DO pay.
wow..can this media monster get anymore biased? lol
The wit in this forum just astounds me.
"Obama's gonna save the world, Palin's stupid and John McCain is too old." Right...ignorance is bliss.
Hey Harley, maybe before you start making your childish statements in a public forum, perhaps you should learn to how to spell.
For Weakmindedliberal - DITTO!
I'm going to my local grocery stores, bookstores, and every other place I can find with a magazine rack, and will take all copies of 'Newsweak' I can find and relocate them to the nearest garbage can.
Newsweek liberal? Please. I'm beyond listening to the "joe sixpack" ideals and that Palin is "one of us" so we should vote for her. She, and many of her supporters HATE intellectual thought. The idea of "elitism" is abhorrent. Since when is being intelligent, worldly, and knowledgeable to be made fun of? Lets not forget that the Founding Father's of this nation were ALL intellectuals, well read, and attended some of the finest institutions one could learn at. At the sametime, remember how a lack of curiousity and disdain for knowledge and science worked for Europe from 500ce to 1500CE. It was called the Dark Ages. It took the Renaissance, a "rebirth" of interest in knoweldge and mankind to lift us from the Dark Ages. If the USA keeps elected ignorant, average folks; thats just what they'll get.

If Palin is mindless, how did she beat the Alaska governor incumbent? She does have knowledge, she has had such a positive effect on the McCain campaign that the media including Newsweek is panicking.
I'm going to destroy every copy of Newsweek I can swipe off the magazine racks...they're going straight into the garbage can, you liberal idiots.

Interesting that so many would vote against Obama rather than for McCain. If Obama is elected, I wonder how much backlash will be thrown his way to thwart any effort his administration makes toward the good of the country. No I don't wonder; I know. If the government worked together for a change, a whole lot more would get accomplished for everyone. Obama a worse president than Bush? Highly doubtful.
Bush?
