The Palin Problem

Newsweek has a bunch of white trash scumbags at the helm. Shameful journalism....but then again, partisan hacks like those at this magazine know that already.

This man's opinion of Sarah Palin is the COVERSTORY for NEWSWEEK?!?

And let me add, just because she doesn't talk like other politicians, does not make her stupid. Being friendly does not make someone stupid. Being a mom, being a mayor, being a governor, shows that she can serve well as an EXECUTIVE. Please, stop calling this powerful woman stupid.

Maybe they should have airbrushed in some intellect....

Don't forget that Palin also fired a local librarian who told her that she couldn't ban books from the library, but then later rescinded in lieu of public outrage. Apparently bullying those beneath her make her feel special. Fahrenheit 451 here we come! (Someone will have to have a sit down with Palin to explain what that means...)

This cover and title just proves to me that press has sold it sole to liberals. Vice President candidate, Sarah Palin is naturally beautiful but to magnify her picture to make her look less attractive and if that???s not enough throw an ugly title on her picture. I do not ever remember a cover on Newsweek that did not make person look less beautiful. If tables were turned I do not thing liberals would be happy right now.

It is responsibility of a reporter to tell American people the truth without picking sides. I am finding myself losing faith in our press.

On press defense they have so much completion with news now days that they have to present news in such a way that they can sell themselves. If anyone disagree, I suggest just look up any major website news and see who main title of news are in favor of ???Good bye Newsweek

I will no longer look at Newsweek after this. What an obvious attempt for a leftist media outlet to sway voters with unflattering pictures of Sarah Palin. It doesn't get much lower, or cheaper than that. Especially after basically praising Obama as the next Messiah. Newsweek should be ashamed of this form of hack piece. I hope more people decide to look to other, less biased outlets for their news source after this.

Why don't you just rename your magazine "ObamaWeek?" Americans don't need biased opinions. If you want to increase your circulation, stop targeting only the liberals and speak to everyone.

I love that certain people in her campaign are more upset over the photo than the content. Nevermind that the article is openly critical -- the photo is (gasp!) UNFLATTERING! Someone please explain to me how their reaction is not sexist. Her entire strategy is sexist. "Sure, I know I'm cute, but goshdarnit, I'm awfully smart for a girl!"

Don't knock Newsweek or its article author for its cover shot. In truth, journalistic photos (as opposed to those shot for travel magazines or women's beauty/fashion magazines) are not supposed to be retouched. Doing so alters reality and takes readers further away from the truth. I think Palin can handle a close-up -- especially if she is willing to take on terrorists! And, regardless of what Fox News says, a firm "no retouching" policy is one of the credible ways to be "fair and balanced." Blame Ms. Palin's stylist and make-up artist.

Hillaryorbust: You obviously speak without knowledge of the facts, First check Fact check .org are they some liberal group too in your mind. Second, since when is it Presidential or Vice presidential to encourage a crowd of people to become so Hatred filled that slurs as serious of this nature would occur that potentially threaten to cause harm to another person without speaking against it when found out about.

Funny after all of this reached the main stream media Palin is in Pa and I dont see her right now talk about Ayers; why because there is NO story except in the minds of people like you whom need a reason to HATE.

Now lets speak of Palins connections: Her husband is a former Alaska seccessionist memeber , she has lied about cooperating about Troopergate, she billed the Alaskan Government for sleeping in her own home to the tune of 43,000 which is being looked at the present time for inappropriate use of funds. Top it off she is a Charismatic speaker, however she lacks knowledge the combination of Charisma and ignornace is a scary thing in many peoples book....History has spoken to that many times.

Additonally, all those gotcha's by the media simply show she is not as well versed as one would expect for someone to be in the position of VP and a breath away from the Presidency.

And before you slam me for being a liberal, I am a moderate independent who has voted on both sides of the aisle, based on the qualifications of whom is best for the country.

McCain and Palin are a no win ticket, perhaps you need to rexamine the real reason you do want Obama in the white house, could it be that he is a black man and that is just too scary of a thought for you.

I'm a woman and I can't stand Palin because she isn't intelligent. She can't even explain what Hezbollah is, what the capital of Argentina is, or "gosh darnit" - Who took over as president for Vladimir Putin! Newsweek can print what it likes - funny that people are complaining about it's opinions, and these same, uneducated conservatives would kill others with a gun to protect their freedom of speech.

I think your opinion and picture of palin is sexist. Men can not stand Palin because she is smart and in charge and she won't take any BS from media and its candidate who are trying to shove him into our throat.

About the covershot of Palin. You tried to make her look unpresentable with an untouched photo, but there is nothing that you can do to make her look ugly. She is beautiful however you photograph her. And as far as the politics are concerned, she has many more leadership skills than YOUR man Barry.
