bigdadred: Fox news is one of the only t.v. stations that tell the truth! Fox news is located in Chicago where Obama lives, they should be telling the truth about him! It's the other media that are bias, they won't tell the truth about Obama no mater what! Obama is the most inexperienced presidential candidate ever! Obama has the worst type of friends! Obama is not what this country needs as president not ever!

    Vote McCain/Palin 2008

Here is the one thing I know and know for sure, when the media, (any media) don't like some one, I am voting for them... their just like the movie critic who said a movie is bad, usually thats the movie that wins an oscar! You guys and gals are so so bias

When my doctor tells me something I usually do the opposite. When my preacher says something I figure he doesn't know what he is talking about. As far as my lawyer or financial adviser, I ignore them completely. Education and experience means nothing, I usually just become oppositionally defiant and go with my gut.

That is what has become the sad truth of America. So many of us have this innerving, narcissistic perception of ourselves that we, no matter what, have the right answer. That we are always right. I mean, look at this blog. We are all guilty of it. For the most part, that is okay. If we are not the ones making the decisions that affect this county, such as say Bush (yet another person who never admits when he is wrong), then it would not be such a big deal. Despite the fact that, four year ago, and eight years ago, half this country screwed up when they voted for Bush the first and second time. They caused this mess by putting him in office, and in way have only themselves to blame. You would have hoped that people learned from the past, but alas, no, they continue to ignore reason and vote with their gut. Why are people so stupid as to make the same mistake not twice, but three times! People, you screwed up in 2000 and 2004, what is with you, can you give America a break!

I do not see how she won the debate. That she did not fall apart is one thing, then again her expectations were set so low, and the mere fact that she was not as horrendous as she was during the Katie Couric interview was quite an improvement. Yet, she did not answer any questions, Palin was in another world separate from the one both the Biden and Gwen Ifill were. Had she answered any of the questions presented, i could see how she may have won the debate, but the fact remains that she answered nothing. How do you win a debate when you do not answer the questions presented?

    • Posted By: HAL--- @ 10/06/2008 2:02:35 PM

She did fall apart. When she couldnt answer a question, she would create one...and answer it. What kind of debate is that?

  • Posted By: Cyprus @ 10/06/2008 1:58:23 PM

    Monique0!!
Why don't you send all these facts to the F.B.I. They are obviously not as clever as you are and seemed nt to have noticed all this evil Black mans doings. God we are so lucky in America to have someone like you watching our back. Keep a watch out for the leprecauns, pink faries and UFO's. I am sure that there is a reward for these. if you can catch one for the F.B.I. Now here's a provable fact: After 9/11 George Dubya Fascillitated the Bin Ladden family and some very dubious Saudis in leaving America. They were and still close personal friends of the Bush's. But as the greatest investigator of all timeyou must have known this....

On top of that, it was not a joe six pack put the relativity theory together, it was Einstein. So Einstein has a btter brain than most of us, he is an Elite and if you like Einstein you are an elistist.

American people thinking like that should re-check their sanity.

    • Posted By: ConservativeWoman @ 10/06/2008 1:45:32 PM

I can't imagine how you could call Einstein an elitist unless you can demonstrate that he somehow presented himself as such - a superior intellect yes, but an elitist? From the American Heritage Dictionary, the definition of elitism:

The belief that certain persons or members of certain classes or groups deserve favored treatment by virtue of their perceived superiority, as in intellect, social status, or financial resources.

The sense of entitlement enjoyed by such a group or class.
Control, rule, or domination by such a group or class.

      • Posted By: HAL--- @ 10/06/2008 1:57:51 PM

You all fall under the misconception that a person tha is good at one ting is good at everything. Einstein was a physicist...and that is ALL. he was good at what he did..and that's all. You wouldnt want a dentist to perform heart surgury right? Even though they are both called "Doctor." Same with the election...you want the best qualified and for me, it's the law professor not the beauty queen. Why? Becuase we are a nation of laws...something forgotten during the past 8 years.

I still do not see why everyone is saying Sarah is not ready to be VP and Obama is ready to be president? Obama is the least qualified presidential candidate in history. It is only because of media bias and white guilt that he is even the nominee.
Why does the media report on the 6% who say they won't vote for him because he is black (these of his own party) and not report that something like 98% of blacks voted for him in the primaries. That is racism, just like the 6% is racism. But the media is so enamored with Obama and this chance to make history that they are stealing this election from either Hillary or John. When we let the media take over our political system we are in dire straights indeed.

    • Posted By: fccFH @ 10/06/2008 1:52:39 PM

I am asking this as a true question, and I do not want it to come across as anything but that- in Alabama, or other parts of the south has Obamas campaign been swung in away that people are voting for him because of white guilt? Most of my family lives in the south and I have not heard this, and as I live in New York, and am in support of Obama, I really hear very little about his race in relation to his potential nomination. I am voting for Obama because of his policies and the belief that his agenda is what is right for this country opposed to McCains. It has nothing to do with his race. I just really would like to know where you are getting this white guilt stuff from?

    • Posted By: roland thick @ 10/06/2008 1:23:08 PM

YOU are from Alabama, your comments dont count good ol' buddy.

    Mydear Friend Cobalt6,
It's not the fact that George Dubya was a close and personal friend of the Bin Laden family and he and daddy were making a mountain of money out of this friendship' It's not even the fact that they hosted a damn lt mre than a coffee get together for the Bin Ladens. It's not even that Daddy Bushorganised for the C.I.A. to train Bin Laden Pay his troops and supply them with weapons, All with the cheerleader in general (John McCain) support. After all if they are killing Ruskies and speading terrorism in Russia, they are freedom fighters!
What it is is that he is likely to win and any crap spread by the GOP is their only hope.
My friend, a Black woman isnot fit to host a debate! The media is biased because Gov Palin can't answer any questions, Barrack Obama caused the Wall street melt down. etc. etc. Obviously the only thing that matters is that McCain wins and damn truth and any shed of integrity.

  • Posted By: uniqua97 @ 10/06/2008 1:36:46 PM

I really do not understand Americans because how come they would want a joe six-pack managing the government? I would rather a person have much more knowledge and wise than me be in that seat otherwise, why we do not elect a football player as president and another one for the vice-president. (they are much more popular than these folks and can be much more populist)

    • Posted By: HAL--- @ 10/06/2008 1:42:32 PM

Because like ALL stupid people, they beleive they know it all. It is the wise man that knows that he doesn't know everything.

  • Posted By: simone01 @ 10/06/2008 10:44:52 AM

Newsweek - I'm ashamed of you. You're printing an article with an obvious democratic leaning and trying to pass it off as hard news. This is an opinion piece and should be listed as such.

As far as the arguement that Sarah Palin isn't as experienced as John McCain and will take a few years to be good at being president, I think that point is much more seriously applied to the lack of experience of the democratic PRESIDENTIAL candidate.

    • Posted By: SavethisCountry @ 10/06/2008 11:26:46 AM

Amazing how blind some Palinites are but must be the 6 pack buzz they have going on. IF a car is blue, I should be able to call and describe it as such if it is and not be told you are biased and should only call it not white. She is what she is and the facts are there. If you like her, then you like the facts. If not, then you don't. If the car is blue, accept the fact and move on. Quit trying to mix reporting the facts with reporting facts you don't like. Its just showing true colors of the Palinites. If I don't like what I hear its either the mainstream media, or I'll divert your thoughts to the other candidate. Really sad how we are becomming blind for a wink.

      • Posted By: ConservativeWoman @ 10/06/2008 1:41:24 PM

I couldn't agree with you more. And just because Obama identifies himself as Black, we should be able to dig deeply into his shrouded past without being called racist.

  • Posted By: Cyprus @ 10/06/2008 1:23:38 PM

    Damn Straight, Dam from Alabam.
How could a former Senator from Illinois who became a one time senator in Washington, ever be Qualified to be a President of these here United States.
Except of course Abraham Lincoln>>> Who kicked your lilly white redneck ass some short while ago. Whats a fine white boy like you gonna do if one of them unqualified, (only because he's Black). Fellas becomes president? I suppose the south might rise again, or you could go to Alaska with the other good folk that are chosen by God and make a Redneck paradise while you wait for the rapture. Or you can stay in Alabama with a banjo on your rascist little knee.

    • Posted By: danfromAlabam @ 10/06/2008 1:39:54 PM

Racism rears its ugly head once again. You are showing us all your ignorance. Yes I am a white man. But I am not a racist. I live in Montgomery, one of the most integrated city in this country (check it out 53% black). Could have moved out many times. But sounds like you are really racist. Just don't think an unqualified man should be president. Sorry if the the truth of reverse racism bothers you. And by the way my ass is no more white than yours is black. Perhaps you should get out of Chicago or wherever Reverand Wright is peaching and visit the real south.

Toilet paper? Well then that would make it the smartest thing your ass will ever see.

Meacham makes the same mistake all 'intellectuals' make (right and left)--they dismiss Gov. Palin because they believe she is not as ???smart??? as they see themselves to be. News flash--if pundits and journalists like Meacham and Katie Couric are so smart, why aren't they governor of Alaska or running for Vice President? It is so easy these people to condemn leaders as ???not informed??? or ???not smart enough???, but much harder for them to understand that there are multiple kinds of intelligence. These ???other intelligences??? have been defty explained by Daniel Goleman in his book ???Emotional Intelligence??? and by Stephen Covey in his book ???The 8th Habit.??? In his rebuttal to Meacham, Karl Rove pointed out that these other areas are often more important than ???smarts.??? And, as Rove explained, Palin has many of them in truckloads.

    • Posted By: HAL--- @ 10/06/2008 1:33:15 PM

Palin is smart the way a fox is smart....and the word is "cunning" not smart. She is ill informed about national or international events. I'm your average Joe (minus the 6-pack) and I can name Supreme Court cases. Why? Becuase i care about inmportant events and decisions. Does that make me an intellectual? Hell NO...but it does make me "informed." Which is something Palion is not.

  • Posted By: neos @ 10/06/2008 1:12:29 PM

danfromAlabam, Educate yourself before you post nionsense. African-americans always vote over 90% for the Democratic candidate This just might have something to do with the racist turn the Republican party took in the 70's. Didn't you sea that great sea of white faces during the republican convention. The African-American voting pattern is anti-racist; they vote sensibly against the party that took the wrong side on civil rights..

    • Posted By: danfromAlabam @ 10/06/2008 1:31:22 PM

Educate myself? Of course you know the votes I am speaking of where during the DEMOCRATIC primaries. There was of course no Republicans running in those. There was of course a Female candidate who was supposedly "loved" by her African American constituents. Who's, according to all accounts, husband did more for African Americans than any Democratic president in recent memory. Who the African American community dropped rather blatantly for the first viable African American candidate. Why do you suppose that is? Racism!
Look I am no fan of Hillary or Barak. I am a republican. I watched the primaries, I unlike some, want to know what to expect no matter who becomes president. Maybe people who vote should at least be somewhat informed instead of going off of "he makes me feel good about me". Thats what Baraks campagn is all about.

Palin is making us the laughingstock of the world. Check out the following article from the U.K. (The Guardian)....

  • Posted By: leighjamesleigh @ 10/06/2008 1:29:46 PM

Palin is a wonderful Christian as she brings up whatever untrue filth she can to impale Obama with, how does she rationalize her behavior, anything to win because it's for the best. As she calls Obama a terrorist, she should do some math and figure out he was 8 years old when the Weathermen were active, Obama must have had bombs attached to his tonka trucks. After this blows over, she should call Obama's daughters little whores, call him a half-breed or a slave or maybe the "N" word and dig up his dead mother and parade her corpse around the streets like in Medieval times since they've resorted to barbaric tactics. She should ask herself, "what would Jesus do?" I'm sure he's not thrilled with her right now.

It's about imagination -- moral imagination, which is the ability to put yourself in someone else's shoes. Palin says she can be an advocate for special needs children and their families, now that she has one of her own and can undertand the problems. My senator, Gordon Smith (R-OR), says he can understand the problem of depression now that his son committed suicide. That's good as far as it goes, but I want someone who can understand the other person's point fof view before they have a personal experience. Jon Meacham puts it this way: "Do we want leaders who are everyday folks, or leaders who understand everyday folks?" We want leaders who understand, who have moral imagination, and that is Barack Obama.

    • Posted By: danfromAlabam @ 10/06/2008 1:18:28 PM

Barak, has imagination? Give me a break, He is spouting the same socialist crud that the Democratic party has been preaching for 30 years. He is well rehearsed and "preacher" like, but he is merely towing the liberal line. Anytime he gets outside of prepared speeches he does very poorly. He is being handled like a puppet by the Democratic party. Dare I say, the elite left wingers who hold onto power by keeping the welfare roles full.
He is not qualified to be president. Bottom line! He makes a heck of a good speaker when prepared ahead of time. But has no depth of experience or knowledge.

McCain is pushing Palin's idiotic statements to distract America from the fact that him and his good ol' buddy Bush ran the economy into the ground. The statements Palin make arent her own. She is just the messenger. When this is all over, she will say "I didnt write the stuff I was saying", mark my word. All these people are defending Palin on issues that she will one day disown, then what? The McCain ticket is so all over the place, his followers are beginning to get desperate. What next? What could they possibly come up with next? They already have called Obama everything under the sun. Accused him of everything you could think of, what else? Im waiting for the BIG one. Im embarrassed for the Republicans. They are starting to look like they are the problem America is having. Bush and McCain and all those other Washington insiders have ruined the economy, period. The economy. Its funny how all these broke Republicans STILL back McCain. Making little or no money, fighting for the rights of big wigs of major companies. McCain benefits rich people, not average Americans. If you earn less than 250,000 a year and are supporting McCain, you look stupid.
