Let us honestly look at Obama???s background and then answer me truthfully if he appears to be your All-American type. Consider the psychological and political background our next Commander-in-Chief may have developed his opinions and philosophies from. Single white mother in the early 60s is not a healthy start. Father was a Communist in Kenya that fought to have all businesses not owned by Kenyans to be taken over by the government with no compensation. Father had two DUI accidents. The first one he lost his legs, the second one he lost his life. Has half siblings living in abject poverty. From 6 to 10 years of age, he was raised in a Muslim school and declared himself a Muslim. His step father was Muslim. Had two Pakistani roommates in college. Where are they now? Took two trips to Pakistan while in college. Where in Pakistan did he go and who funded the trips? Got into Harvard through radical Saudi who is the 19th wealthiest man on earth. Cannot get Michelle???s thesis, though you can get any other students thesis. Actually, you can get it, only after the election. I got a chance to read it and yes it is about racism. Starts political life with the help of ACORN, a radical non-profit group that has been caught illegally stuffing ballots on many occasions. Bill Ayers and his wife have been close friends to the Obamas for decades. Michelle has even claimed that Ayer???s wife is her best friend. Tens of millions of foreign donations that cannot be traced. Kerry got just over 500k and that was a record. Had initial political opponents removed from the ballots. Tony Rezko, friend, financier, real estate benefactor and Syrian billionaire. We don???t need to discuss experience now do we? Praises Saul Allinsky and his campaign play book. Saul Allinsky is a former communist professor who proclaimed it was OK to lie to the voters as long as you get the power. Everyone should google him. Every American, regardless of party, should read "National Contender" on Amazon.com. The protagonist explains what is wrong with our politics and how to fix our country's major problems. Fun adventure, but the author has solutions for this country that we don't hear from our politicians.

I know some of you are adverse to watching Fox but there were two documentaries over the weekend - one described how we got into this financial mess and the other was about Obama's friends. Say what you will but they could not produce something like these shows if they were not factual. Open your minds - you know nothing about Obama other than what you are told because he has no record to run on. That is why Hillary had and McCain is having difficulties campaigning against him. Should make you think twice about supporting him if you cared at all about how our country is going to be run in the next four years.

I agree with you. Actually these are facts that Obama refuses to deal with or respond to.
Hillary Clinton brought all this up late in her campaign, and obama is being investigated for many things.

I just wanted to let everyone know that there is a person who comes on here and repeatedly writes offensive and obscene comments, raging his hostility towards republicans and McCain, He changes his names many times but has similar blogs. He rants, raves, posts comments many times. He changes his name and constantly puts up comments slamming mccain. He must be unemployed because when I come here to read the news, he is always in here. pls. beware and dont respond to him. Some of the names he has used are Harleyishere, LudwigVanBeet, just ignore him becasue he tends to get hostile when you confront him.

jans884--- How come Fair and Unbalanced does not show McCains friends in Keating 5, Phil Gramm, and ties to Fannie Mae ? I know what you will say " IT's the Liberal Media ."

    • Posted By: jans884 @ 10/06/2008 11:04:11 AM

Read it again, I thought that was a joke. FOX Noise (fair & balanced) showing something that was NOT factual. HUH, did FOX suddenly start fact checking?

Hey, 10 out of 10 terrorists endorse Obama. Why not? He's their best friend. He is a nobody who's done nothing except say he will cut American defenses and pull out of Iraq. He also loves to hate America saying that America is bombing civilians and villages. Clinton actually did that but Republicans are not traitors like Obama and DemocRATS. Thanks to the liberal propaganda media, few relaize DemocRATS including Obama caused the financial crisis that Republicans tried to regulate. DemocRATS had to many rich friends funding their campaigns and are too clueless on economics to do anything.

Wow. 10 out of 10 terrorists endorse Obama. Where did you get your stats? Did you interview them? Call them up on the phone? Did you ask Bin Laden? Cause if you did, George Bush would like to know where he's staying these days, since he's been unable and unwilling to look for him for the last 7 years.

Why would someone from the Gaza Strip by $33,000 worth of T-shirts from Obama?

    • Posted By: jans884 @ 10/06/2008 10:58:52 AM

      To resell for profit, DUH...........

I find it extremely interesting that some of the posting here are so very pro-Obama and discuss as if they have known him and his character for years and years. You don't know any more about him than I do and that is nothing. It must be very difficult to run a race against someone that has no history. All I know is that he has the most liberal voting record in congress (Biden is third) and he has a great many friends who are against America. Regardless of what he says to become president, that little bit of history tells me everything I need to know.

I really have to agree with your point, but McCain's lifestyle, his very messy divorce, so he could marry the young, pretty and oh did I mention rich, Cindy, the garbage with the Keating 5, and the following (from Meet The Press yesterday):
But John McCain sat on the board of a very right-wing organization. It was the U.S. Council for World Freedom. It was chaired by a guy named John Singlaub, who wound up involved in the Iran-Contra scandal. It was an ultraconservative right-wing group. The Anti-Defamation League, in 1981, when McCain was on the board, said this about this organization. It was affiliated with the World Anti-Communist League, the parent organization, which ADL said, ???has increasingly become a gathering place, a forum, a point of contact for extremists, racists and Anti-Semites.??? Now, that???s not John McCain. I don???t think he is that. But, but, you know, the problem is that a lot of people know John McCain???s record better than Governor Palin, and he does not want to play guilt by association or this thing could blow up in his face.

This and the fact that I don't want more of the same with another 4 yrs on top of the last 8. Thanks, but no thanks.

The article about Conservativism and NeoConism being in their DNA is somewhat understandable, But it does not answer the question of how they ,got their Hate, Bigotry, GREED, and Low Iq's. , it seems to be inherent in almost all Repub's.

At a Stadium the question was raised, " All people who voted for Republican in 04, please stand and raise your Far Right hand and Solemly Swear , ^%*()((@## never again&&(&*%@%@!)(*_(Y^$$#^*))()%^&.

I was raised in a Republican home and now I have no 401k left and I and millions of other 's owe 13 Trillion and 1 Trillion to China plus we owe 10 Billion per month on Iraq. Man I feel so dumb . Raise your Right hand if you voted for Bush in 04. Now stop and think, I am stupid enough to vote for another Repig.

People in Gaza are big fans of Obama. They want him to win. That kind of says it all, in my opinion.

I am one of the donors who made multiple small donations to Obama. I did this in response t o negative emails I received from Republicans making false claims about Obama. I sent each one an email telling them of my practice in an effort to stop the messages. I explained that I was open to emails telling me why I should vote for McCain but not to those telling me using falsehoods, not to vote for Obama. I also made a donation after each debate and in response to a nasty ad I saw. I called the FEC this morning to explain my actions. Maybe the McCain campaign doesn't understand just how motivated some of us are after 8 years of the Bush administration. Oh, I also wanted a t-shirt!

SMALLNARROWMINDED does not seem to understand that the repeal of Glass-Steagal was A) mostly symbolic since the difference between investment and commercial banks had blurred by 1999. B) Was highly bipartisan - 90 senators, including most Democrats approved, and C) may actually help during the current crisis because the repeal is allowing the purchase of failin banks of one type by the other - potentially saving us hundreds of billions in additional bailouts.

The fact that Fox News Network is taking the position of launching a series of all out assaults against senator Obama???s character is a sad day in journalism. They should be ashamed of the immoral and unethical standards that their network displays on a continual basis. What they must be made to understand is that as citizens we rely upon networks for their fair and accurate reporting of events and we will not tolerate anything less, especially when its over the top or maybe I should say as far right as Fox News Network is. It is time to take a stand against Fox and look to other networks for fair and accurate news coverage.

But you were OK with the alphabet soup media, the AP, and every comedian from the radical-left-wing owned media pulling an all out assault on Governor Palin? Katie Couic refuses to call her Gov, even insisting that the title be removed from all writing, as well. Lies were completely fabricated about her and spread, knowingly and deliberately, by your alphabet media. Biden called "in command of the facts" although he told at least 14 WHOPPERS during the debate - reported by MSM? Nope!! You are a hypocrite. Thank you FOX for finally tellng the truth that so many of us already knew, bt were shocked tofind the media completely hiding!

Comment: What makes people vote Republican? Why in particular do working class and rural Americans usually vote for pro-business Republicans when their economic interests would seem better served by Democratic policies?Psychological diagnosis: conservatism is a partially heritable personality trait that predisposes some people to be cognitively inflexible, fond of hierarchy, and inordinately afraid of uncertainty, change, and death. Its not your fault that you've inherited narrow minds and can't tolerate other belief systems you were born and taught to be that way repugnants! At some time in life you may want to decide if your racism, bigotry, hatred and intolerance serves any purpose and would Christ be this way...so are you truly Christian, if you are not Christ-like? Free your minds repugnants!

Y''know, you are a good college student. You write a nice paper, clearly, using big words to show you are intelligent. However, your post is narrow in it's analysis.

Your argument is reductionist. You do not account for the many Republicans who are so because they value tradition, family memories, a time when life was simpler and nicer and more polite. You dismiss any Republican who is so because they believe in conservative values, like saving money, being frugal, living simply and not to material excess. In this regard, Conservative values denote a rejection of the throw-away society we have become: therefore, Republicans recycle paper, plastic, metals; we compost our organic waste so as not to add to the landfills.

How are you doing on enacting your conservative values in an effort to reduce waste and leave a better world for future generations?

Phil Gramm was John McCain???s presidential campaign co-chair[7] and his most senior economic adviser[8] from summer 2007[9] to July 18, 2008.[7]

In a July 9, 2008 interview explaining McCain's plans in reforming the U.S. economy, Gramm explained the nation was not in a recession, stating, "You've heard of mental depression; this is a mental recession," and "We have sort of become a nation of whiners, you just hear this constant whining, complaining about a loss of competitiveness, America in decline."[10]

Gramm's comments immediately became a campaign issue. McCain's opponent, Senator Barack Obama, said, "America already has one Dr. Phil. We don't need another one when it comes to the economy. ... This economic downturn is not in your head."[11] McCain strongly denounced Gramm's comments.[12] Gramm later attempted to spin his comment, explaining that he had used the word "whiners" to describe the nation's politicians rather than the public, stating "the whiners are the leaders."[13] In the same interview, Gramm stated, "I'm not going to retract any of it. Every word I said was true."[14]

On July 18, 2008 Gramm stepped down from his position with the McCain campaign. However, he often accompanies McCain during the campaign, and continues to be an unofficial adviser on economic and financial matters.[15]

And your point is related to the obama campaign's funny financing how?

  • Posted By: HappyDay41 @ 10/06/2008 9:04:11 AM

    Oh my my. Finally.

The obama campaign didn't agree to share additional info about small donors? Why am I surprised? (I;m not)

The obama campaign cant say who Good will is or who Doodad Pro is, but they returned the $$ to credit cards used? Easy. Trace the credit cards.

I know for a fact, because I gave many small donations to Hillary then McCain, that the credit card donations require billing address, security #, name as it appears on the CC, etc. And, I know for a fact, because I internet shop... if you get a number wrong, if the billing address doesn't match the one on the card, etc., the sale is incomplete and you have to do it all again.

This is a major scandal and in these economic gloomy times, somebody better swarm into the obama campaign finance files with a vengence.

Ok I see your reasoning, lets leave the tax rate for the rich the same and lets not cut it. And in the spirit of being fair lets tax everybody the same. In the spirit of fairness , lets do away with the notion that the top 50 % of wage earners foot over 90% of all taxes paid, while the bottom 50% foot less than 6%. Lets make it all the same for the sake of "Fairness". Which means ofcourse we would have to do away with the current states of the bottom 30% of wage earners paying zero in federal income tax. They will , in the name of fairness, should pay their fair share. Now that would be change you can believe in!!!!
