mirage1959 -- Obama's sorted history and questionable relationships with various anti-American leaders is much more disturbing than McCain's awkward body language. Are we now going to hold McCain's war injuries against him while dismissing Obama's record and alarming history of connections to radicals? You can't be serious! If that's not a personal attack then I don't know what is. If it were just Obama's contacts with Ayers or just an acquaintance with Rev. Wright or just the lack of information about his Columbia days and relationships formed then, you might be able to justify any one of them alone. The history and the radicalism represented in his circles is a disturbing trend. What is even more disturbing is that Americans are willing to dismiss this for the sake of "Change". There are better ways to bring about change than putting a man with Obama's baggage in the White House. If you think we have problems now, just wait. It's easy for you to suggest that American's take this path since you won't have to deal with the consequences. Maybe you should just focus on Canada - they aren't doing so well either. War hero & experienced leader or relative newcomer with a highly questionable past??? Not a difficult choice if you think about it.

What about McCain and Palin's association to radicals? How about Keating 5 and Palins direct association to the Alaskan group who wanted to make it's own country? Do your research!

Practice what you preach yourself... McCain, as well as John Glenn, were cleared of Keating by a Senate committee, by democrats, no less.

Sarah Palin was never a member of the group you mentioned. She has been a registered Republican since 1984. Try posting a credible link to your claims next time.

In a few weeks we will make a choice that will decide our future.
I follow an economist named Bob Proctor. He has called the top and bottom of every market crash since the 70s correctly.
Also, he perfectly predicted the current real estate market meltdown and the picture he paints about what will happen in the next couple years
is terrifying. He thinks it will be worse then the great depression.
The banks in the U.S. are going under one after the other. Countrywide ,Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch , Fanny and Freddy Mae ,AIG
The government took them over because they are essentially bankrupt. Even with the goverment nationalizing hundreds of billions of dollars in debt the stock market is crashing
the credit markets are frozen and all of us may suffer beyond anything in the last 80 years.
McCain just like Bush " doesn't understand the economy".
That not just my opinion its his own words. Not only does he not understand how to fix it but he does not understand exactly what is broken.
It is no surprise that he doesn't. The people that make up these securities use complex mathematical models very few people understand.
Bush and McCain both can take the credit for this mess since they helped deregulate the laws that were protecting us.
Bush's economic advisor Phil Graham wrote the deregulation bill that allowed banks to take huge risks with all of our future.
Now, Phil Graham is the head of McCain's economic policy. He is also McCain's choice for the next secretary of the treasury.
No one in this country can afford for that to happen. The last time Bush met with his economic advisors was in March. He didnt realize that anything was wrong. Phil Graham had the guts to say that we are in a mental recession after he helped create the worst economy meltdown in our lifetime. Check out this link to the truth http://my.barackobama.com/keatingvideo
It will take the best and brightest minds in the world to get us out of this nightmare. As bad as Bush has done, McCain would be
even more destructive because things are in much worse shape. The next president will not inherit a surplus like Bush did but a crashing economy and a 11,600,000,000,000 (trillion) dollars deficit. Most of it Bush created and it will take decades to pay it back.
If you do what you have always done then you will get what you have always got.
When it comes to policy Bush and McCain are the same 90 percent of the time.
So why are the polls even close then ?
Mccains team just said they no longer want to talk about the economy.Instead they would like to spend time talking about obama
which means running the biggest smear campaign in history.
They think they can just tell you lies and you wont be smart enough to see through it
Let's teach him we are smarter than that .
    Elect Obama Biden 2008

Cant decide if this Obama bashers name is some misspelled form of "mechanic" or some sort of "McCain-iac" type genius, either way, both options are ridiculous.
Why don't you focus on the political facts as opposed to how sad you are that Barack doesnt sing the praises of "white side of the family." the republicans are the ones talking about staying out of family business since McBush and Palin are so *** up with their no-sex education and the whole leaving disfigured wife for skanky heiress thing. let it go, you lose with the personal attacks, you and the rest of us need to focus on what they are going to do in office, not who their families (no matter how *** up in your candidates case) are. Everyone has heard that *** for far too long and guess what, no one is buying it. Go back to your dimly lit apartment and continue to scan the internet for more smear. The intelligent people are on the right track, too bad there are soo many of you pathetic excuses for voters that have nothing constructive to say and continue to just ditto all the "facts" that have been explained away and accepted long ago. You're all so "mavericky" come up with something new.

Obama's Campaign Paid Over $800,000 To ACORN For Get-Out-The-Vote Efforts, But "Mistakenly Misrepresented" Their Work To The FEC:

Obama's Campaign "Paid More Than $800,000" To ACORN For Get-Out-The Vote Efforts; The Campaign Originally "Misrepresented" The Group's Work To The FEC. "U.S. Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign paid more than $800,000 to an offshoot of the liberal Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now for services the Democrat's campaign says it mistakenly misrepresented in federal reports. An Obama spokesman said Federal Election Commission reports would be amended to show Citizens Services Inc. -- a subsidiary of ACORN -- worked in 'get-out-the-vote' projects, instead of activities such as polling, advance work and staging major events as stated in FEC finance reports filed during the primary." (David M. Brown, "Obama To Amend Report On $800,000 In Spending," Pittsburgh Tribune Review, 8/22/08)

The link below describes how some in Congress tried to use the original version of the bailout bill to divert money eventually recovered to groups like ACORN, a group Obama has a long association with. See:

Obama launched his campaign at the home of a domestic terrorist. Bill Ayers is indoctrinating children in Chicago's school system and throughout the country into denouncing capitalism and becoming radical activists for socialism. All of a sudden Obama doesn't know him just like Rev. Wright. Yea right. We're just all stupid. Obama is a trojan horse, a first rate liar. All you Bush haters are so blinded by your hate that you don't see who you are putting in office. This is history repeating itself. Let's not even get into Obama's racist wife, that's a whole other scary story. But go ahead and vote for your messiah! In the end the stupid always get what they deserve. Read history.

MacArthur wanted to invade China during the Korean war and McCain wants to bomb, bomb, bomb Iran.

ALOT of countries want to BOMB BOMB BOMB Iran...They are a terrorist state...Just because Obama may have you fooled into thinking that terrorism will be gone and all will be well if he gets elected, doesnt change the fact that we as well as the mideast are IN REALITY under a grave threat by Iran. If that wasnt the case, the U.N and other world agencies wouldnt be putting Irans nuclear programs as their main agenda..Iran is a threat whether Obama or McCain gets into office, Iran will have to be dealt with. And the only way to deal with terrorist is w/ terror.

4astrongamerica: First of all, I hope you don't think that young people and "the homeless" are the sum total of Senator Obama's supporters. I'm on a Pac-10 college campus daily, and all but 2 of the professors I know plan to vote for him. As a matter of fact, I know several public officials in the state of Washington who also have Ph.D.'s and plan to vote for him. Education level aside, do the thoughts, opinions, and beliefs of the young or homeless deserve to have less weight than your own? Apparently you think so. In which case, you need to figure out how to get the voting laws changed. Otherwise, it's called democracy. It sounds to me like your the one who's judgment leaves a lot to be desired. Or perhaps you are among the ranks of those praying will never age and die. News flash: that's what happens to all of us. And whether you like it or not, children grow up and become adults and, unfortunately, many of them also think their own children are unmotivated. It's a cycle. That is the nature of humanity. One final thought... If your son is unmotivated, unsuccessful, and lacking in judgment, maybe you need to be looking in the mirror, rather than blaming his generation. Apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

    • Posted By: 4astrongamerica @ 10/09/2008 1:04:27 PM

First of all, I might be more likely to appreciate your thoughts if you could actually read. I never said that my son was unmotivated or unsuccessful. He's just young and has a lot to learn about the world. That will come with experience and he will be a great contributor to this society as many of these young people will in time. If the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, then I think that ultimately, I have done a good job. Secondly, William Ayers is a professor also. I don't respect his opinion as to the direction of this country either.

      • Posted By: DrAKH @ 10/09/2008 2:45:11 PM

I actually read your post quite carefully. You were the one to use your own son as an example of an unmotivated generation, not me. From the looks of things, you made an unsupportable assertion stemming from one example based on a generalization, which is always faulty logic. Perhaps you would know that if you respected college professors more. Ever been? This applies to your one example of Ayers as well. Those who are so easily lead by smeer tactics are the one's whose judgment I question. Have you read either of Senator Obama's books? I'm always surprised how many people are willing to swallow the McCain rhetoric hook, line, and sinker, but won't read what the other side has to say. Obama wrote his first book before he ever entered politics, so there is no politic intent or lying there. It's just one guy's story. It's unfortunate that parents simultaneously want their child to go to college and then expect their children to remain living in a bubble despite that exposure to world history and critical thinking. If anything, I would trust college students more to vote in a wise way since they are daily steeped in requirements that make them use their critical thinking ability. Approximately 27% of this country holds a college degree. That might explain why Bush ended up in the White House twice. I'm glad you're proud of your son. Maybe you should tell him that rather than maligning a generation that doesn't want to have the type of government that's created our current financial and diplomatic crisises. Good job. You raised a son who can think for himself (let's hope).
