Comment: Hang the Bitch!!!!!!!!!! an american expat
As Italian prosecutors prepare for the trial of Amanda Knox, supporters promote 'Free Amanda' T shirts and coffee mugs.
Comment: Hang the Bitch!!!!!!!!!! an american expat
Comment: I am truly outrage about how american people, who knos NOTHING about the law of Italy, nothing about the crime scene , nothing apart from their arrogance of a country the USA that is falling apart from the IGNORANCE of the American people, who believes are the best and know everything and they DONT , as we can see now in all Politics, economics and so forth
Amanda Knox is a criminal as anybodyelse can be , white, black, american , italian and if she deserves to serve time in jail she will ! America you are loosing it in all ways !You are all half european , do not forget it ! You should learn other languages and learn more of teh ENTIRE WORLD before talking and making WAR to all the countries and act as SOVEREIGNERS of the WORLD. You do not own anybody
Comment: To oea65,
I would have preferred that Amanda Knox be tried in the USA as there is no death penalty in Italy. Innocent people have no motive to lie to police, to falsely accuse an innocent person and to keep changing her "story" multiple times. Every time the court looked at Knox case they decided to keep her locked up. Why is that?
Comment: I wonder where is the media outrage against Italian's laws that allow people to be in jail without charges for nearly a year, and the forensic methods used by the local police. If this would happen to an American in Russia, Cuba , any third world country or even France, the whole media would be asking for boycotts to the country products or even war.
Comment: You seems to be very ignorant and this is not deamining your intelligence.
Italy , Grance is no THIRD COUNTRY Darling .You are out of touch What do you know about the WORLD?What ? How many languages do you speak? In how many countries have you lived apart from the USA ? What do you know about forensis in other countries ?
This is why the USA are loosing their face and now we can see it very well , it is unfortunate that you are not owning the world and will never ! You are too arrogant !
Read the book of your own country : "America and the World " by Brezezinski and Scowcroft , Hopefully you know who are these 2 very important american people !
One has served as NSA to President G.H. Bush and Ford and Military Assistant to Nixon.
The other was President's Carter NSA, and strategist to the Center of Strategic and International Studies... Well learn about your country ...
Comment: I would like to say that not everyone who says he/she is innocent is actually innocent.
Point in case Stanley Tookie Williams was found guilty of murder and I would like to
submit that he claimed to be innocent because he did not want to take responsibility
for his actions.
Comment:
Stanley Tookie Williams
, Gangster / Writer / Convict
From the beginning of his sentence, Williams maintained his innocence regarding the four murders, alleging prosecutorial misconduct, exclusion of exculpatory evidence, ineffective assistance of counsel, biased jury selection, and the misuse of jailhouse and government informants.[4] Williams claimed that the police found "not a shred of tangible evidence, no fingerprints, no crime scenes of bloody boot prints. They didn't match my boots, nor eyewitnesses. Even the shotgun shells found conveniently at each crime scene didn't match the shotgun shells that I owned." However, the prosecution's firearms expert, a sheriff's deputy, testified during trial that the shotgun shell recovered from the Yang murder crime scene matched test shells from the shotgun owned by Stanley Williams. No second examiner verified or falsified his findings. The Defense claims this expert's methodology was "junk science at best."[5]

Comment: I wonder what will Knox do if she is found guilty of murder?
Is the marketing and PR going to continue?
Perhaps the media could set up a poll to test how many people believe she is innocent and how many believe she is guilty? I would vote if given a chance. I wonder how the victims parents feel about the marketing?
Comment: We all hope for a fair trial. Am very stunned about the aggression of the Knox supporters. This might harm her.
Comment: The actions of all three suspects after November 1st lead me to conclude that each of them acted in a way that arouses suspicion. Most certainly not the behaviour of innocent people.
I am not swayed by the rantings of some self promoters who are happy to take any opportunity to get their name in the media. What we see is an coordinated attempt in manufacturing public opinion, never mind the facts.
Comment: This girl is clearly guilty. I was in London at the time she was arrested (which is where the victim went to school) and it was clear to me then and clear to me now that Amanda had something to do with the crime. The media coverage now looks a lot different than the coverage did then. Back then, they had a black guy on the hook for the crime and couldn't even pin him. I mean, c'mon, Amanda is American, she know how it works... find the random black guy who was around and accuse him. If that didn't stick it's because she's guily, if she didn't kdo it herself she certainly knows who did. That girl needs justice
Comment: She knows things about the murder, I am almost certain.
Of course, if you are guilty the best strategy is to say nothing, or perhaps I was under the influence of drugs or something like that.
Comment: That is my take as well.
Even if she did not do it herself she knows who did.
I don't believe she was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. I could be wrong but I would not be surprised if she actually receives the highest sentence of all three accused.
Comment: People who murder people should be jailed for a very long time.
Comment: I can't argue with that.
Comment: Dispite all the facts in the case clearly pointing to Rudy and nothing to Amanda it still seems unlikely she will be released? Sounds like a fantastic justice system they have over there. Who needs actuall evidence when you can make up a fantastic tale to prove someone guilty? Yes Amanda's dna was on Raf's kitchen knife she cooked there. The amount of dna on the tip could be merideths or most of Italy, the percentage match is that small so much so they can not even put a percent on it. Not to mention it makes cuts to big for the wound, but WHO CARES?! It's much more interresting if she did it so let's all just keep prosecuting her for no evidence or motive......
Amanda has to return to her own country eventually and return to work, school, life. If it was you or your daughter wouldn't you want her protected? The PR guy mostly is there to assist the family in deciding what interviews to do on her behalf and how best to talk to the media. That's it, just trying to protect her already damaged reputation from stupid, careless remarks made flipantly by bloggers and reporters.
Comment: I tend to disagree with you.
In my estimate we will be see the first conviction this month with two more murder convictions to follow.
Comment: This piece of writing is embarrassing. Barbie, you are very clearly not writing objectively. ???freeing Amanda Knox seems an unlikely outcome???? every single piece of evidence against this poor girl has been dismantled, disproven, or even thrown out.
???with what looks to be Kercher's DNA on the blade.??? This is the most damning piece of evidence against Amanda. The prosecutor???s own expert, Stefanoni, stated that the test results were ???not reliable??? and she couldn???t even make a guess as to how likely the DNA was Meredith???s.
That means the DNA knife evidence is useless, or irrelevant. Amanda???s professional experts went in and did their own testing- well over a hundred separate tests- and the HIGHEST likelihood that they could come up with was a .02% chance of the DNA being Meredith???s.
She will walk.
Comment: Do you think she looks like she is afraid she might get caught, or is it just me?
Comment: Que! Spin in overdrive,eh?
Comment: How many PR stunts were there to proclaim the supposed "innocence" of the prime murder suspect?
If she is innocent she would probably not have lied to police investigating the horrific murder of her flat mate?
If she is innocent why did she claim she was in the kitchen while her former employer killed her flat mate?
I do not think that the police or the prosecution are trying to frame an "innocent" person!
Comment: I would like to thank Barbie Nadeau for writing this article.
This shows that not all journalists favour situations akin to the 1995 trial of OJ Simpson.
Unfortunately, my observation of journalists in the US has shattered by believe in the integrity of American journalists and PR people who seem to be more interested in following the money trail then justice.
Comment: To the Italians reading this column- Bremner, the "prominent attorney" from Seattle, makes a name for herself via her friendship with a locally famous convicted child rapist, her association with the local R.C. church representing its priests on sex abuse charges, and various local police agencies, again defending personnel accused of sex abuse. As another spoke in the wheel of deviants associated with Bremner, Knox (-legal determinations yet to be made) is now publically keeping company with some of the more disgusting names on the west coast. For example:
. Mary Kay Letourneau, the grade school teacher convicted for having sex with a sixth-grade pupil, was released from prison early Wednesday Mary L. Letourneau landed in jail for child rape (twice). Letourneau wants to try to build a normal life, said Seattle attorney Anne Bremner, who struck up a friendship with Letourneau in 2002
ANNE BREMNER, FRIEND OF LETOURNEAU: Thanks.
COOPER: Anne, let me start off with you. You saw Mary Kay Letourneau last week. Was she optimistic that she would see Fualaau again?
BREMNER: Yes. And I have to say, you meet the most interesting people at work She was optimistic, you know, a little apprehensive -- seven years in prison. Of course, you're worried about going into the big world, especially where the media -- the media glares everywhere. And the uncertainty was there with respect to whether she would have a future with Vili and what would happen with all six of her children.

Comment: Appearances are deceiving, history shows even the pretty ones are most likely to commit murder for the most psychotic of reasons.
Comment: Oh that's brilliant! Lets convict her because she's pretty!!!
Comment: I don't see why some write she is pretty?
At best she looks average, but most of my friends rated her below average in looks.
That aside, numerous people belonging to the prosecution and the police are convinced that Amanda Knox is involved in the murder of Meredith Kercher.
Comment: The Perugia courthouse is indeed a early Renaissance palace, built in 1481 by Lombard architets. This common historical mistake I've read all over the American media is misleading, on the purpose to associate Italian justice to medieval ages. You have the right to affirm whatever you want, but please dont blame the history of architecture.
A Perugian, really annoyed with this uninformative news.

Comment: The murder marketing campaign is down right disgusting.
The murder suspect should wait with the marketing campaign until after the trial.
I personally think that the campaign's purpose is to interfere with or even prevent a fair trial.
How any one who followed this trial since November could think there is no need to try
these three prime murder suspects is beyond me.
I do not think that Amanda Knox is a victim of the media.

Comment:
Unless the person who knifed Meredith Kercher to death, was left-handed, then Meredith was, just like the prosecutor, police and scientific forensic departments have determined, stabbed from behind by a right-handed person whilst forced to the ground on her knees.
And these people have the sheer monterous audacity to sell T-Shirts?
Their campaign has been instigated by a team of PR agents hired in for that purpose, maybe that PR agency is paid to sell music concerts normally, but in this case they are doing more harm that good, their ploy and main move sees the play on nationalistic sentiments.
Is that a true example of how Americans are? that own interests and self-promotion goes above the importance of decency, honesty, truth and justice as well as humanity and simple human kindness?
I do not believe that the average American is stupid like that.
Did we not have enough of national socialism in World war Two.
How idiotic can things get?
Imagine if your mother, sister or daughter was murdered and then a process towards trial was underway but those accused started selling T-shirts and undermining the judicial system all the way in every way they could, meaning, anything and everything, like falsely accusing not just the police of wrongdoing but also the prosecutor, forensic departments (and different and various departments have been involved in this case).
Nobody would be happy at such a development and form of public indecency.
How can justice be determined only on where a person happened to be born or live?
It is a plain insult towards every American person to have Americans portrayed as being selfish and nationalistically minded, it insults an average person's intelligence to think in such narrow-minded ways.
Another very stupid move of the Seattle team is to keep trying to gain credibility by using names of lawyers or judges from back home as though they were some kind of supreme force who though having no access to all of the details and evidence of the crimes nevertheless make comments identical to those already spewed out by the PR team, in this way, they demean themselves and make not Perugia look corrupt but people in official professions and lay-persons alike look corrupt and stupid.
They would do well to think twice before shouting around without even having studied the case properly and thoroughly from a non-biased viewpoint and according to all of the facts and evidence involved, not just according to the details they choose to include.
Comment:
If you look deeply into the history and behavior of the seattle lawyer, you will find that the comments of Duchessy are on point. This is a situation testing how well small town smear campaigns play out on a more sophisticated stage. This isn't Mayberry R.F.D, and even thinking that insulting the people in Perugia would be of benefit to amanda speaks volumes about the mentality of the legal minds "giving a shout out" from seattle.

Comment: A great read, thank you for taking the time to write this comment.
Comment: What if I think she did it?
Don't get me wrong I'm all for bringing her back and she'll probably get off (let's be honest, white, decently well-off, American girl, I'm sure we can get her off) and the Italian court system is a mockery.
I don't want the poor girl rotting in jail for this crime. No one wants to see her life ruined or her family put through all of this and all. Exert some behind-the-scenes pressure, revoke her Visa and bring her home.
But in my opinion, like most people's here, she did it. She's as guilty as they come. So I'm afraid my sympathy can only go so far.
And T-shirts and coffee mugs? No thank you.
Comment: It's some person from Italy or England selling the t-shirts and mugs, not her family or friends. Someone is just out to make a buck off someone else.
As far as the majority of the people thinking hse is guilty that's where you are wrong. It's only the majority of bloggers who like to hate and actually have NOT been following the case and ACTUAL evidence (disregard what the prosecution says as FACT as they can and do make up things just to have them disproved, only the disproved part is not as much fun to leak to the ever anxious press) If you stick to the actual facts there is NO, ZERO evidence against Amanda. She is dispised for being pretty and having parents who are willing to morgate their house to bring her home. She is not rich. I'll grant you that she is white but that cannot be helped.
Comment: I can most certainly assure you, that you would not be the only person who thinks she done it.
Comment: What those Knox supporters (yes Knox because it is not true that Sollecito has such a PR campaign like Knox's and he supporters also, it has been shown do not care about him) do not mention is all of the facts, and, in fact Knox accused an innocent man of rape and murder, she said she was in her home in Perugia when the murder took place, she said she put her hands to her ears, and knew what was happening to Meredith Kercher, but, she did nothing, she went home to bed.
This has been shown to be lies, Patrick Lumumba was released from prison, and when it was shown that Amanda Knox had falsely accused that man who had actually given her a part-time job in his small bar in Perugia, Italy, she blamed everyone else, she blamed him (he just so happens to be a black person, from Africa originally but a long-term resident in Italy with wife and small child) the police, prison officers, the prosecutor, her boyfriend and co-accused Raffaele Sollecito. They both kept changing their stories not able to make their stories correspond in any way.
The DNA, is showing, with the other evidence, that all three were there. It is truly disgusting the manner in which the family of Amanda Knox have handled this, they have shown a total lack of morality or responsibility, compassion or respect too, for the loved ones of the deceased. Nobody even offered their sincere condolences to the family of Meredith Kercher.
The T-shirts, truly morbid, the photo used on them, is of her outside the cottage where she was filmed French kissing with her boyfriend whilst the police were inside the house having just found Meredith dead on the floor under a duvet, her throat stabbed in three places the third wound fatal going in the left side of her neck in front of her adam's apple and coming out the other side. She drowned in her own blood, and died a cruel death in pain and fear.
Comment: That is a very good point that it is only Knox who has a PR campaign going.
If you do a google search you clearly see that the other two suspects don't have one.
Comment: As a general rule, I despise people who profit or otherwise derive enjoyment from the misfortune of murder victims.
To set up a PR campaign to promote the murder suspect Amanda Knox is beyond believe.
Comment: "If this was the United States you would never have a charge on this evidence aginst Amanda Knox", opines defense analyst Anne Bremner. But its NOT the United States Ms. Bremner, its Italy and the court of public opinion be damned. She faces murder charges and therefore has to be tried by the laws of the country in which the crime was committed. Just as we would demand justice if a foreign national had committed a crime in this country, so too must we respect and abide by the laws of any country that we happen to be residing in. We should not get a free pass just because we are Americans. What we should stand on the principal of the rule of law. We demand it here in America, we can expect no less from lthe Italians.

Comment: You posted this also to a blog run by a female single issue journalist who deletes every response that is not supportive of Knox. In other words her blog is used to misrepresent public opinion by posing as a public blog, implying that what you read is representative of public opinion.
There were days on her blogs where she deleted more than hundred posts on a single day.
Comment: I am Italian, and I can assure that we don't give a .... whether Amanda Knox is guilty or not. I don't know why somebody keeps on saying "It's in jail because of the pressure of public opinion". It is clearly junk, I shouldn't even write it. And finally, for those who are so concerned about the Italian legal system, just think that she does not risk to be sentenced to death and killed, which is instead allowed in the state of Washington. Think about it.
