McCain is responsible for his campaign, if Palin is running around smearing Obama, it has to be at the behest of McCain. If things go wrong, he can let Palin take the fall alone.

Why are you laughing? you feel McCain knows how to fix this economy?. He was goofing off in college. If he did understand the economy, Palin would not have to resort to character assassination would she? She KNOWS things are looking bad for McCain so she is reacting the best way she can.
I used to think John McCain was a man of honor and integrity, but it is sad beyond belief to see how far he has fallen.
Accusing Obama of "palling around with terrorists" and all the other slanderous statements made in the last few days is nothing short of cowardice; a pathetic attempt to slander Obama's character instead of dealing head-on with the issues, issues which are too important to see sliding into a mudslinging match.
I never believed I would see the day when I called John McCain a coward, but that day has arrived.
What a shame.

Are you kidding, you are dedicated McCain supporter criticizing someone because they support Obama. If liberals are too stupid then conservative are too stubborn to change even when neccesary and this puts McCain ahead leading the pack.
McCain is not completely honest on his record, He placed his name as coauthoring the s190 2005 bill when in fact the bill was already sent back to be amended at the time. He tries to take credit for it to boot. You would think his name would be on the amended bill but you would be wrong on that assumption. That is what I call being 100% honest, McCain style (ref library of congress)

Is this the bill that the republicans claimed the democrats supposedly vetoed, the one that was not voted on? Do you see the date McCain came on board and when it was sent back? I would compare this to calvalry sweeping in after the the villian is already caught but the calvalry wants to take the credit. I know, I know, let's see the possible republican responses; Ayers, Wright, Rezko. Good luck with the character assassination..
Prosecutors move to delay Rezko sentencing
Prosecutors move to delay Rezko sentencing, a hint he may be ready to spill political secrets

???Speculation has simmered for weeks that the key fundraiser for Gov. Rod Blagojevich and Sen. Barack Obama was whispering what he knows about corruption in Illinois government to federal prosecutors in hopes of getting a lighter sentence.???

We have to lojack ALL vehicles and the COMPLETELY screen all personnel that are handling votes and prosectutors should be in charge watching that the vote get from point a to point b. The prosecutors will be held responsible also. In no uncertain terms, it has to be known and I suggest everyone involved with handling votes must sign a paper stating that they understand the penalty will be DOUBLED for ALL violators found guilty of tampering in whole or in part with votes starting this election year.
Sorry to say that but if there has to be another recount with a republican governor and secretary of state in Florida, history may repeat itself.
Sheriffs can have their personal bias as anyone else, and I really don't want the votes disappearing in 2008 as they did in 2000 just because someone doesn't like Obama (McCain will benefit also). .If they feel they can get away with it, I'm sure they will try.

He sure looks like one.
I'm frightened to know people like him are "protecting" me and my family.
Lee Co. Florida Sheriff Mike Scott plays the fear card at McCain rally - UNPROFESSIONAL.
Mike Scott, you are a disgrace to law enforcement. RESIGN NOW
Hey Cliff-N-Cali what do you meain biased. Newsweek is only reporting what the candidates is doing..you know who is biased...you.
Hey guys what can you expect from a dishonorable candidates? Of course dishonorable ads. How can someone be a war hero and at the same time dishonorable. I cannot get it.
I can't believe it! Everytime I try and read an article and try to believe that the media "Newsweek this time" can be fair and unbiased I proove myself wrong! I will admit it I am still undecided about this election but if you stand back and compare the coverage on either candidate you will see that the bulk of media outlets obviously lean one way. Keep this election clean and fair Newsweek!
Jim I have to know intelligent , honest conservatives define character. I have spent 22 of the last 28 years seeing how dishonest probably intelligent conservatives define it. The other 6 years were Bush the 1st and most conservatives hated him but he was honest and admitted his mistakes, and Bills 1st 2 years before he had to deal with Ralph Reed, Bill Bennet, David Dukes, Newt Gingrich, you know those paragons of honesty and virtue. So before you label Half the US stupid at least have an argument with some facts and perhaps character and honesty would be nice too.
As America is dangling on the cliffs edge, John McCain and Sarah Palin have crossed the same line that hasn't worked with others as this campaign nears 2 years old. These issues are old, were played and disected on cable new for 2 months straight, day in and day out. Rev Wright, Ayers, all debunked. The line that has been crossed, sadly, is the "bigot line". With people going homeless, loosing jobs, facing forclosure, no health care, I will punish John McCain and Sarah Palin with my vote....They will not get it. They do not deserve it. This is America, and everyone should be judged by the content of their character, not the color of their skin. This tactic is older than John McCain. Sarah, I won't attempt to guide your fans to YouTube where your "pastor" is rebuking "witches" from you with the "laying on of hand" this past June, 08. I will not ask them to fact check the fact that your husband Todd, was a member of the Alaska "succesionist" group where that man is quoted as saying "I have no use for America and it's flag, this is Alaska and we are different"; not his exact words, but basically the facts. You see Sarah, only the far right wing republicans are "fooled" by you. You and John McCain can never challange Obama on the "issues" as you will certainly loose the election. So instead, you both choose "political suicide". Be very careful Sarah what you wish for. Karma is a BITCH.
Thank you factcheck.org. The truth is the truth. a 72 year old man with a tricky mind to serve this country ? noway Jose. Cry all you can, but sorry, Obam/Biden will be the next President of US.
Fox News Network should be ashamed of itself and the reporter or reporters who went out of their way to do these series of assaults should be banished from their jobs. It is clear that Fox like McCain and Palin like to distort the facts. It journalism like this that make people not want to vote. This is exactly one of the many reasons why I no longer support the Republican Party. I am sick and tired of them blaming others for their screw ups. McCain and Palin have completely lost me as a supporter. The negativity has gone on for too long. Focus on the economy and focus on us hard working Americans who are loosing our jobs, retirement, healthcare and our homes because of OUR government's lack of accountability, regulation and oversight. Go ahead Fox and keep printing crap like this and I am sure, like McCain, you too will help him loose this election. You are all sad and its moments and articles like these that make me ashamed to be American. We are supposed to be the country that other countries try to emulate.....sadly we are not that country anymore. I hope that when Mr Obama wins the election and turns this country around, you will all apologize and I hope you all loose your damn jobs.
Governor Palin was assalted. What did you say then?? LOL!!
The choice is simple.
McCain and Palin are delivering a message of hatred.
Obama and Biden are delivering a message of hope.
Nuf said.
When the truth becomes hatred is when the opposition knows it to be true! LOL!!
The problem with the McCain campaign is that they have no positive, productive message of their own, no specific policies for improving the economy that differ from those of GWB, no solutions for improving America's standing among foreign nations, no significant platform whatsoever. He is a one-trick pony pushing his vague concept of being a "reformer" and a "maverick".
As a result, he has relied on negative attack ads and speeches from the get-go. Desperate times call for desperate measures, and McCain is a desperate man whose blind ambitions have clouded any sense of judgement, fairplay, and code of ethics. (Palin, on the other hand, never had a code of ethics--only a holier-than-thou sense of morality.)
McCain and Palin have regressed from "gutter politics" to "sewer politics".
The truth always hurts. That is what makes it sound like gutter and sewer talk!! LOL!!
This ad does not distort Obama's words. If Obama had called for "enough troops so that we're not air-raiding villages and killing civilians," Obama would have been on solid ground. But by adding the operative word "just," Obama implies that bombing villages and killing civilians is the *only* thing our troops are doing over there (ignoring the fact that they are also building schools, clinics, roads, and power plants, and killing Taliban in far greater numbers than they are killing civilians).
It was indeed a dishonorable statement on Obama's part.
I guess even though what Obama said is shown in black and white you refuse to accept facts. This is how McCain's campaign behaves. Deaf to facts. The only objective is to win at all costs. This is why McCain is losing.
You wouldn't know a fact if you saw one!! LOL!!
The Antichrist!:
When George Soros failed to obtain the election of his candidate, John Kerry, in 2004, he brooded for a while, even said he might get out of politics altogether, but he just couldn???t stop himself. He has stated publicly that he wishes to burst the ???bubble of American supremacy,??? because he says our preeminence in the world is a detriment to global ???equilibrium.??? So far, he has failed, but he keeps on trying.
And Mr. Soros has made no secret either of the fact that he sees the shortest way to effect political shake-ups, what he terms ???regime changes,??? is through very difficult economic conditions.
America has not yet felt the full force of Soros style economic shock treatment. But others have.
Soros made his first billion in 1992 by shorting the British pound with leveraged billions in financial bets, and became known as the man who broke the Bank of England. He broke it on the backs of hard-working British citizens who immediately saw their homes severely devalued and their life savings cut drastically in comparative worth almost overnight.
When the Asian Financial Crisis of 1997 threatened to spread globally, George Soros was right in the thick of it. Soros was accused by the Malaysian Prime Minister of causing the collapse with his monetary machinations, and he was branded in Thailand as an ???economic war criminal??? who ???sucks the blood from the people.??? Right in the middle of this crisis, Soros dashed off his book, The Crisis of Global Capitalism, which demanded a ???third way??? toward economic stability.
Wake up, America, before it is too late!!!!
The intelligent Americans are listening to you, but only the intelligent ones.
mccain has been dishonorable since the day he decided to pimp his POW card to win an election. from the day palin came into the public eye, she's done nothing but lie lie lie. and these two, sadly, are unashamed of their actions. when the mccain camp blatantly says they want to engage in smear campaign to avoid talking about the economy, then there is absolutely no hope for them left. if they and karl rove, ann coulter, hannity, rush limbaugh, bay buchanan, guiliani, fred thompson are representatives of the republican party, then the republican party deserves no respect from the american people. they are a bunch of pigs that enjoy rolling around in pooh
