Troops also include the Military leadership and when you makes comments about just bombing villages, etc...it amounts to the same thing. A troop is a troop regardless of rank!

McCain/Palin are exposing themselves as the ATTACK MINDED HATE MONGERS they really are.

This ad campaign is a futile effort to polarize voters against Obama. The only problem is that nobody is buying their BS.

ATTACK ADS, PITBULL HOCKEY MOMS, and DEREGULATORY MAVERICKS... WRONG for AMERICA

    Obama/Biden '08!

Not at all! I am pointing out that Mccain was great pals with Charles Keating and that Todd palin is a member of a radical organization that wants Alaska to stop being a part of the U.S. and I am not a hate monger.

Innocent are we? Think about this, for all the associations smears, WHAT has Obama done wrong. We would talk about McCain but the records are SEALED. We started to talk about Palin but they are SEALING her records.

What is your case? Make Obama LOOK guilty even though we is not. If this is McCain's idea of a clean campaign, I would hate to see a dirty one. When you can pack up and just leave Michigan you are getting frustrated, and this is only the beginning. McCain is a hot head and there is no way around this.

      • Posted By: Stimpygato @ 10/07/2008 12:53:35 PM

Nope, but trying to paint people as strictly GOOD/EVIL is about as disengenuous as it gets... unless we're talking about OJ or W.

Best way to beat McCain/Palin; quote them exactly, and often. No heavy lifting required.

  • Posted By: izme @ 10/07/2008 12:18:07 PM

Have you noticed that California and Mass. have asked the government to bail them out. Coincidentally, these two states have universal healthcare. This should be a red flag for Americans that think that Universal Healthcare is free. Somebody has to pay for it. ...tax payers!. Obama states in his written explanation that not everyone will be mandated to BUY it. He has led us to believe all along that it would be FREE. Not so. He plans to finance it by REPEALING the Bush tax cuts. ....which in other words means....TAX INCREASE!

    • Posted By: epryor @ 10/07/2008 3:24:22 PM

My understanding is that he will replace the Bush Tax Cuts and replace them with his own plan. Cuts for the middle class and poor, but probably raise them on the wealthy

    • Posted By: bwlear @ 10/07/2008 12:48:03 PM

Who do you think pays for the uninsured to get health care?. Ever wonder why 1 asprin cost $5 at the hospital? EVERYONE with insurance pays for the uninsured. And then your tax dollars are used as an additional subsidy. That is why universal health care is going to HELP defray the actual cost you, the insured, are going to pay by providing a primary insurance payer. Dont let the fear mongering insurance and hospital lobby fool you into thinking that we are better off with millions of uninsured or underinsured citizens. They tell you that the quality of care and level of choice is going to decline under UHC but wont tell you how that is going to happen because it is a lie. The better hospitals will always make money because of the volume of customers that go there. It will always be higher then that of a lesser hospital. Americans need to be smarter then this.

The link below contains a purported list of the top 25 in Congress who got contributions from the folks at Fannie and Freddie. Obama is listed third, after Dodd and Kerry, even though Obama is just a junior Senator. Obama is followed next by Clinton. Barney Frank and Nancy Pelosi are on the list as well.

    http://www.investors.com/editorial/IBDArticles.asp?artsec=16&artnum=1&issue=20080918

Then there is the Senate Banking Committee Chairman Christopher J. Dodd who allegedly got special mortgage deals from Countrywide, who gave preferential rates to 'friends' of company's chairman.

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25140560/

For an interesting article purporting to detail the House Financial Services Committee Chairs long history with Fannie Mae, See http://www.businessandmedia.org/printer/2008/20080924145932.aspx

"House Financial Services Committee Chair promoted GSEs while former 'spouse' was Fannie Mae executive."

The link below describes how some in Congress tried to use the original version of the bailout bill to divert money eventually recovered to groups like ACORN, a group Obama has a long association with. See:

And then there is House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who allegedly has directed nearly $100,000 from her political action committee to her husband's real estate and investment firm.

typical liberal. How often has the "media" stated that the obama gang are making use of the internet like no campaign before....but you try and imply the RNC is paying people to blog. OVER 60% OF AMERICANS SAY THE MEDIA IS BIASED AND FAVORABLE TO obama. Who is mindless and brainwashed now???

    • Posted By: Mike Brody @ 10/07/2008 1:18:38 PM

You are right on.. The problem is that the political scene is dominated by democrat propaganda which too much of the American public takes as gospel.

      • Posted By: AskPlus @ 10/07/2008 1:47:34 PM

McCain hiding his naval records is not propaganda, neither was the bail-out grand-standing. His new and enhance attacks are not propaganda, and the Keating incidence where he made all the investments is not made up. Palin and her Wright, Ayers attacks - bad. Then there's the "I won't be like the Reps with attack ads" from 2000 - and here we are. Don't forget the non-propaganda value of advisor Hagee and McCain's Iran-Contra embezzelments. And lest we forget the image of young John, home from smashing up a brand new airplane - real images - we can rule out propaganda. Oh. and don't forget S. America terrorist ties, well after he gave up troop logistics in captivity.

Those contributions are from employees of Fannie mae, which are legal and allowed. A company has no control over who it's employees contribute to. However, Rick Davis, Mccain's paid campaign advisor, up until last month received 15,000 a month for two years as consultant from Fannie Mae. BTW, you forget to mention John, he is fourth on the list for receiving monies from it's employees. Do yourself a favor, stop lying. We are not all mindless, brainwashable repug twits.

I am quite certain that Admirals McCain ( I and II ), are significantly not proud of the mess that III has made of his career.
The McCain family honor, like their legacy, has obviously skipped a generation.

How many of your relatives fought for our Country, I bet your just like your family generation AOL

      • Posted By: OldUncleTom @ 10/07/2008 3:20:24 PM

The last time my country had a legitimate fight, my whole family turned out for it; even my aunt was a Marine. All that happened before I was born. My draft years were Vietnam era, and few still believe that was a fight for America, no matter what the McCain camp might try to spin. I was 1-A, was not called, and went on with my life. I never laid claim to any honor for this, but cannot accept any dishonor for it either. For the record, I am not running for President, now, or anytime soon, so neither I nor my family is subject to the scrutiny of strangers.

Who would be in charge of a McCain Administration? Surely not the candidate, who campaigned against low, racist politics--such as Bush & Rove's 2000 Primary campaign in South Carolina.

One of our current problems, is that Karl Rove was in charge fo the entire Bush Administration, for several years. You can see the results in the last two weeks.

Where is the real honor of John McCain? Was it a passing whim? Has he forgotten it?

  • Posted By: DgoTown @ 10/07/2008 3:10:35 PM

I hope that McCain continues to lie and avoid the real questions...he will only hang himself!

  • Posted By: stephilyn @ 10/07/2008 3:02:18 PM

Before everyone popints the finger at McCain, perhaps they should go to Factcheck.org and research how both canidates have been mudsling and twisting the truth. Obama is not always on point or truthful in his statements either, do some research before you jump on anyones bandwagon. I think it best for everyone to do their homework before they open their mouths and look ignorant as to the political system as a whole.

  • Posted By: DUMPLIN @ 10/07/2008 2:58:58 PM

WHERE ARE THE HEADLINES ABOUT VOTER FRAUD IN NEVADA CONDUCTED BY ACORN, THE ORGANIZATION OBAMA WAS A PART OF AS A COMMUNITY ORGANIZER? IN OHIO, HOW THEY DRIVE PEOPLE AROUND AND HAVE THEM VOTE IN ONE PLACE AND THEN ANOTHER? WHY WHEN MCCAIN STARTS TELLING THE TRUTH ABOUT OBAMA HE IS GOING NEGATIVE AND ON THE ATTACK? HE SHOULDN'T HAVE TO, THE PRESS IS SUPPOSED TO DO THEIR HOMEWORK AND TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT ANY AND ALL CANDIDATES. PEOPLE IN THE NEWS MEDIA ARE NOT JOURNALISTS, THEY ARE LIBERALS BENT ON GETTING OBAMA ELECTED BECAUSE THEY WANT AMERICA BROUGHT DOWN AND DRAGGED THROUGH THE SLIME OF SOCIALISM. WHEN JOHN MCCAIN STARTS NAMING NAMES JUST WATCH THE PRESS SCRAMBLE TO TRY AND SHIELD OBAMA.

If anyone is TOO risky for the high office of President/VP it's McPalin. Give me a break! They will stoop to any level to paraphrase what Sen. Obama said to make him look dishonorable and in the end, 3 guesses who winds up looking bad? Not Sen. Obama.

I am SO over this campaing crap, so tired of Palin's incessant whining, off the wall dialogue, inappropriate and ridiculous statements, and just plain tired of being insulted by the Repulican party that she could be 1 step away from the Presidency and is qualified. I'm appalled and for years I was Republican. Not anymore.. stick a fork in Palin and move on... We all need to watch she doesnt resurface in 2012 as the new candidate for change... that's where the Republicans will take it. Hopefully, Sen. Clinton will be her opponent!!

  • Posted By: stephilyn @ 10/07/2008 2:55:08 PM

I find it funny that by reading this article people belive think that McCain is the only one twisting the truth. Perhaps, everyone should go to factcheck.org and read all of the articles listed and see that BOTH canidates have been mudsling and twisting the truth. Perhaps people should do their homework before opening their mouths looking ingnorant. I am also mortified by people that make comments such as "high-heeled hyena with lipstick". Wwhat absolute disrespect for a fellow american and a person that may not share your views but is a succesfull woman in todays society. People like this should be ashamed at their lack of common decency.

Typical McBush tactics. Let's not stick to the truth...let's make up lies and hope Americans can't tell the difference between the two.
Busted...some of us are too smart to jump on that bandwagon again John. Get a grip and stick to the issues please so you can lose on November 4th with some dignity.

McCain lost two Navy aircraft while piloting them, both allegedly due to engine failure. A third was destroyed on the deck of the carrier USS Forrestal when a missile fired accidentally from another plane hit either the plane next to McCain's or, less likely, his own aircraft, triggering a disastrous fire that killed 134 sailors and nearly killed McCain. A fourth plane was lost when he was shot down over North Vietnam on a bombing mission over Hanoi. There's no evidence that any of the four destroyed planes were lost to pilot error.

A fifth alleged "crash" turns out to be a misinterpretation of a flight accident that did not result in the loss of the aircraft. McCain admitted to causing that incident through "daredevil clowning" but returned safely.

If McCain were driving this recklessly, I would say he would be uninsurable with so many mishaps. When you are the admiral son, mishaps like that are forgiveable, they gave him a medal if he returned the plane (just my impression). Here is the key, if he received a medal it is public news, if he received a reprimand it was SEALED. This leaves McCain discretion to tell HIS version. His medical records from the Navy are still SEALED but HE tells us he had a clean bill of health. Most of his comrades that suffered as POW's are either dead or on the way but he is in great mental and physical health according to HIS physician. .

McCain has cover up so much of the negative past, how are we are supposed to BELIEVE he is 100% honest. He throws us scraps, ie he was a maverick, he graduated 795 out of a class of 800 at the academy, he broke most of the military's rules and did not get kicked out of the Navy, and that is his version of straight talk.

Fate has a way upping the ante when life's lessons are ignored. How can a pilot lose so many planes, and not think maybe its MY piloting skills. How stubborn can you be? This is the guy wants to fix the economy?

Obama doesn't have to subject himself to anything McCain or Palin cannot do.

    • Posted By: Angler88 @ 10/07/2008 2:40:59 PM

It astounds me that somebody can conclude this line of crap from McCain's service to our Nation. What you are missing totally is the amount of self-sacrifice it takes for somebody to put his or herself in a jet and to propell himself in harms way to do what his or her country asks of him. And do it repeatedly even after being a prisoner of war. I tell you, if there is a modern day Gibbon out there, I hope he is writing a book and publishing it soon on the fall and decline of the American Democracy in the remote chance that maybe we as a nation can halt the dismal spiral of self gratification and the complete lack of personal responsibility by reflecting on the moral principles that made/make us great. It's not the economy, stupid - it's the silent integrity.

  • Posted By: Nins @ 10/07/2008 2:06:38 PM

The GOP is grasping at straws. They have nothing substantive against Obama, but boy are they good at making up lies. This is the leading Karl Rove tactic for years, and if America falls for this again we should be ashamed of ourselves. Not to mention the obvious fact that this is all a smokescreen to keep the focus off of the fact that Palin and her Alaska associates are in contempt of court for refusing to testify in the Troopergate hearings. After Nixon and Clinton, Americans are to some extent jaded, but really, would you want a VP who refuses to attend hearings in her own defense, and instructs her employees not to testify? That smells like guilt. It surely doesn't give the impression that she has done no wrong and has nothing to hide.

This year, the GOP offers you an angry old man and a woman who, while personable, is desperately uniformed about national and international issues. Both of them are far right politically. McCain used to be a maverick, but since 2004 he's voted 90% with Bush. McCain's policies are not original or reformist, despite how he's tried to co-opt Obama's popular message of change. Please go to the websites of both of the candidates and read their platforms. Obama's Blueprint for Change has more good ideas than McCain's plan. Compare them yourself. Obama's basic premise is that tax dollars should be spent to make America stronger and to improve the lives and well being of our people. For example, he uses education programs to train a new technology workforce, contributing to energy independence, creating jobs and improving the economy. When you read McCain's plan you will find no over-arching design to get America back on track. Instead you'll find more tax cuts for the wealthy, de-regulation of the health care industry, and a stated intent to overturn Roe v. Wade.

I'm a Republican. Although I embrace some forward-thinking social values, in the past I've rarely voted Democrat. My thinking was that since Republicans grow robust economies, by voting Republican I'd be endorsing a plan that would grow wealth for our nation, and then we'd be able to afford social programs. It was a good strategy for a couple decades, but I have to say that the tenure of W. Bush has changed my mind. Not only is there nothing fiscally responsible about today's GOP, the insidious alignment of the party with religious intolerance has really turned me off.

On the other hand, the intelligent luminous thought of Barack Obama has ignited my patriotism. I want a President who puts America first and can get the economy back on track. In my mind, values voting takes a back burner when we are faced with a meltdown of the economy. It is time for a change, a real change. The Republicans have controlled the Presidency for 28 of the past 40 years, but they have fallen down on the job. The Democrats have a stellar candidate this year, and I am voting for Obama.

This morning Palin said she and McCain would freeze on spending. Interestingly, President Bush is on TV right now and he just stated that putting a freeze on spending would be even more detrimental to our economy!! When you have a spending freeze, the economy freezes as well. Guess McCain and Pilan are trying to play "mavericks" again and would definitely bring our economy to a standstill. When the economy stops moving, there is NO gain and ONLY stagnation. Let a bucket of water sit for awhile and what happens? It becomes stagnant and unusuable. Erratic McCain and his robotic high-heeled hyena with lipstick once again making WRONG decisions for America!!
