God Bless you. Your Grandmother is more powerful tonight than she ever was while she walked this earth. Her spirit resides with Jesus, Lincoln, Tubman, Martin, Kennedy and the rest of the true patriots in this country. They are all watching you today and forever. God Speed.

AJC Strongly Condemns Rev. Jesse Jackson's Comment on American Jews
October 14, 2008 - New York - The American Jewish Committee (AJC) has condemned the Rev. Jesse Jackson's statement about 'Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades.'
"Rev. Jackson's remarks, which appeared in an interview with the journalist Amir Taheri in today's New York Post, echo classic anti-Semitic conspiracy theories about Jewish power," said AJC Executive Director David A. Harris. 'This statement, regrettably, is not the first troubling comment by Rev. Jackson regarding Israel, Zionism and the Jewish people.'

Arguing as a private citizen that an Obama administration could bring significant change to U.S. foreign policy, Jackson was quoted as saying that "Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades" would lose much of their influence should Senator Obama be elected president."

And people are upset about raciest comments some in the crowd are allegedly saying at Palin events? Isn't this the same Democrat leader who once called New York "Hymietown"?

    In response to rev20v57-10.
Does it really matter whether a man wears a flag on his lapel when there are so many life-ruining issues that have been established by the present administration. Do you have any evidence what so ever to back up your claim that all Obama's high profile persons are all deceivers???
Sounds a lot like the typical fear tactics used by all republicans to scare everyone into voting them in and sacrificing our freedom.....

Obama is not the person that he claims to be. How can we vote for someone who refuses to use the American Flag as his symbol and creates his own. When Obama says the word "change" it is not the type of change that we as Americans are going to be looking for. This person has his own agenda, I ask that everyone look at the so called high profile people who follow him, they are all deceivers. Please ask yourself what type of change you are looking for because the type of "change" that Obama wants is not what this country or world needs.

Nader's fiscal policies are radically different from the two --possibly both in a minority percentage wise, if the proper comparisons of what to expect if elected is the reason for each vote as their honest evaluation of who is best and can do what is best for the country.....does this audience understand what would happen to the budget and the stock market if the companies are self-reliant and have to do their business properly and compete on the proper grounds of the invisible hand of competition and the supply and demand, so that we have companies in the black who are serving our interests and proving it on the stock market, while the government stays out and does not support them, but delivers the proper benefits of hard earned taxes paid for government services, which would not be an unwanted war by a beguiling president who shreds the U.S. Constitution and all proper view of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Nader's track is both sane and safety, it is an offer that I am voting for and urging the educated comparisons of the public in spite of the media's apparent love of corporate greed and profit over the public interest. I do not want Bush or his military. I certainly do not want Obama or McCain, and what I want supposedly is wanted by the majority. It is time they realize they are not stuck in two evil boxes. They have the numbers on their side to vote freely for the best. The best should win in November. End the war with your vote and put priorities in place,, and gain the friendship of the international self-respecting sovereign nations who are not interested in junking up the sky or fighting with insane out of line technology against all sanity. Sane votes by a majority are urgently needed for sane government. November is the day to prove people rule at the ballot and it can be done as a people's landslide for proper budget priorities against the media blackout, and bailouts using red ink that are a credit to no one.

MGRASKE .... I am with you........I would like him to explain his association with Acorn....Ayers....and more. I don't understand why the media is not serving the people. They are in the tank for Obama....if they were doing their job he would not be leading in the polls because people would be unable to ignore the truth.

How interesting it wouold be to get a straight answer to these questions

Obama, what kind of advice can you receive from two advisors that ran down the two biggest home mortgage
lenders plus they took over $130 million in compensation poor leadership.
Obama, what kind of change can a 6 term senator bring to the table. The daying "you can't make old dogs
    learn new tricks"
Obama Tell me about ACORN and please don't say you know nothing for you were their lead legal councel.
My real question will be now how many real votes does Obama get ? when we know on the last
count reported over 50% of them were dead, not legal and what ever but certainly not legal ??

A PLEA FROM THE REGULAR CITIZEN: could someone with enough clout to actually speak with our presidential and vice-presidential candidates please explain this; the 95% of middle and lower class voters in the United States are not interested in nit-picking, "gloves off", cat fights between the perspective leaders of our faultering country. We may not contribute millions to the campaigns but we all have a vote, and I'm pretty sure we still assume each vote will count.
Here's a novel idea; lets run the debates like the Miss America pageants (with the exception of the swimsuit portion, yikes!). How about when each candidate answers questions, the other is in a sound proof booth. Wouldn't it be interesting to actually hear what the candidates think instead of playing off of each other? How about each time there is name calling towards the other candidate $1000 goes in the jar - it can go towards this multi-billion dollar bailout. It may sound simple and childish but if the candidates are going to act like children, let's start treating them like it.

For those who think the Democrats represent Massachusetts, let me give you the voter registration statistics, they are not the tune of 1,000 used in the mainstream media polls, they are measured in millions, the state of Massachusetts has just over 4 million voters and over 2 million, exactly 50% are registered independents, 1% are in the minor parties, and the two parties are 36.8% Democrat (not the majority) and 12.12% Republicans. THERE IS HOPE FOR CHANGE FOR MASSACHUSETTS TO VOTE INDEPENDENCE!

Democrats in Cambridge screamed "the time for change is not now" and wanted their control of the supposed opposition to Bush's agenda. Who knew how bad Bush's agenda was? I have said his impeachablity is not hard to prove, it is easy, he himself already did it. He walked OUT OF OFFICE as soon as he entered. All that is necessary to fix the U.S. Constitution and restore proper view of the President and the role of Commander in Chief, is to restore Congress as properly representing this country by unanimously signing a letter that declares they unanimously support the U.S. Constitution and want its legal framework of a democracy that supports the people and policies for public interest on track, by demanding/asking him to voluntarily resign, since he has refused...the wording (yes, I sent them a suggested wording, and believed THEY owe us the signing as unanimous support of our proper government strength, shown by congress knowing its duty is when and if to declare war, not the president, and the two year limit of funding an army raised--both of these he has violated, as well as other civil liberties protected by a proper upholding of the U.S. Constitution...the original declaration of independence against King George is very close to the amazing letter I suggested as a springboard to the proper view of Congress showing its strength...he walked out of office, it is in plain view. Our country is not supposed to have unprovoked wars, there is no authority and no funding can possi bly support it, nor can it possibly offer any proper public interest when the entire world is agreed we must offer respect for sovereignty and do as Ahmadinejad told in a translated speech to the U.N. "stay within your boundaries and walk in the path of God"-all peoples must respect each other. War is killing and no religion supports it, neither does our Constitution. Bush is not a President under our Consitution and he is not walking in the path of God.

I am new to this online Newsweek center for internet comments. Is it possible for these editors listed on this masthead to ask the proper question belonging to this column, that, I believe was NOT asked in the two party debates, ASK THE SIX ALL OF WHO ARE ON THE BALLOT FOR PRESIDENT 2008 NOVEMBER VOTE SEEKING A MAJORITY RULE RESULT...Baldwin, Barr, McCain, McKinney, Nader, Obama...ASK each one this question, and publish the SIX ANSWERS so the audience can see the comparisons.

It may clarify the huge differences between the candidates.

IF ELECTED BY A MAJORITY, WHAT TOP THREE PLATFORM OFFERINGS WOULD YOU BEGIN YOUR TERM WITH IN JANUARY?

  • Posted By: ellisliza @ 10/10/2008 9:00:39 PM

Veni, veni, vici? No, civilization says peace comes with an able leader for good government on track. Dictatorship is not welcome in democracy. the two partys want their dictatorship and lazy corruption welcomes that rule. Nader does not.

Palin the POST TURTLE___While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75-year old Texas rancher whose
hand was caught in a gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a
conversation with the old man. Eventually the topic got around to
Sarah Palin and her bid to be a heartbeat away from being President.

The old rancher said, 'Well, ya know, Palin is a post turtle.'

Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a post turtle was.
The old rancher said, 'When you're driving down a country road and you
come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a post
turtle.'The old rancher saw a puzzled look on the doctor's face, so he
continued to explain. 'You know she didn't get up there by herself,
she doesn't belong up there, she doesn't know what to do while she is
up there, and you just wonder what kind of dumb [bleep] put her up there
    in the first place.

I am surprised that senator john Mcain and the American people have allowed this ridiculous soap opera to go on for far too long. in my opinion the race would have been a no-contest a long time ago if the mcain people had not listened to the media and their ???experts???, and had focussed on the most important issue a lot of people have overlooked.. if the mcain people had focussed on character vis a viz Senator Obama, I bet he would have been exposed a long time ago for the fraud that he is.
Character goes to the heart of everything, be it the dire economic situation, terrorism, patriotism et al..The problem on wall street is as a result of the deficiency in character of the major players in wall street and Washington..Obama in my opinion is a sitting duck when it comes to issues on character. he has a busload of indiscretions that are already in the public domain. They can be used to good effect to put the benefit of doubt in the mind of the voters. i am not referring to incoherent personal attacks but a more articulate and sustained discourse on his bad judgement in the past that could cost the American people dearly if elected president.

One such indiscretion is his association with that radical pastor of his. This is a relationship that dates back many years. For his pastor to have uttered such nonsense after the attacks of September 11 it must follow that he harbours such resentment towards America. that statement must not be treated in isolation as a moment of passion or madness by the pastor, because it goes into the core of his mindset and belief. By my understanding, that statement is not a recent one. It was made a long time ago even before obama thought of running for president. This goes to the heart of Obama???s judgement, because I am at a loss as to why he did not denounce the pastor then ( if he did not share such a belief ) when it was not politically expedient to do so?? why denounce the pastor now when it is politically expedient to do so?? Obama cannot tell me that he was not 1) aware of the pastor???s comments 2) aware of the pastor???s beliefs 3) aware of the pastor???s political leanings?? This is a Pastor he respects and a church he regularly attended.
The logical thing he should have done was to severe ties with the pastor if he didn???t share the pastor???s toxic views long before it was politically expedient to do so. How many people is Obama going to severe ties with because they hurt his inordinate ambition to become the first black president, how many? There is an old adage that says, show me who your friends and acquaintances are and I will show you who you truly are! Americans, don???t be fooled by Obama, the media and his campaign people, that his actions are just mere indiscretions. THEY ARE NOT! They go to the heart of who he truly his. He is an opportunist, a calculating and dangerous person, who will deny past associations that hurt his inordinate ambition to make history

The Obama camp has no ideal how to answer the question raised of Obama involvement with Ayers, or his deeply connections with ACRON, paying the group nearly 1 million dollars. Obama is running a very very dirty election and again the media is not saying anything, and it funny because the democrats is suppose to be the honest hard working party. I feel sorry for McCain because he is being punish for being a republican and that is flat out wrong. But no one has answered my question why is Obama 2yrs in office more important or more valuable then McCain's 26 yrs plus service time....Until someone answers that question I could never in a million yrs respect a guy with a pass like Obama...president or not is just not equal to respect

    • Posted By: bluepeas @ 10/09/2008 11:14:09 PM

McCain being punished b/c he's a republican? OMG, Are you for real "tippology"? The condition this nation is in has so many financially strapped & the way others percieve us, all the hate, is very dangerous for our next generation. Presently, I think many logical American's are considering who is best to repair America to it's greatness & best for us, first & foremost. I can't believe we even have weak-minded American's blind to McCain's manipulative choice in an extremely inexperienced

attractive unknown to help run this country while so many American's are financially suffering. All he's interested in is POWER &

will do anything to manipulate us & obtain it, even if it means BETRAYING his country and ppl....again. People that care about

ppl that dont care about them are needy ppl & the element of some ppl the Palin/ McCain ticket attracts is a perfect example,

      weak-minded, illogical or racist.
