Although I thought McCain did a good job in the opening of connecting with the American people, and swinging at Obama, the bottom line is there's no new tricks up his sleeve. He throws out the prospect of buying up bad mortgages and lowering homeowners principals, but gives no supporting details on how he plans to accomplish that. And since we know he's not getting any money from reducing efforts in iraq, one has to assume that he has not yet figured out a way to pay for it. That kind of planning is precisely something America cannot afford.

    • Posted By: izme @ 10/07/2008 11:22:48 PM

It's part of the 7000 billion.

      • Posted By: MichiganLoyal @ 10/07/2008 11:26:16 PM

That 700 billion is gonna go pretty quick when McCain wants to spend on further tax cuts, energy investments, and additional military in Afghanistan along with his $5,000 "refundable tax credit". I don't see any details on how he is going to make up for any of his spending....

        • Posted By: nodnarb @ 10/08/2008 8:53:07 PM

Why didn't McCain bring up Barnrie Frank and his relationship with his lover at FANNIE may ? Nancy P. told the would how the bail out was a product of the hard worik of Barney F. That is the DENOCRAT team for you.

      • Posted By: izme @ 10/07/2008 11:23:38 PM

        700 billion....sorry

  • Posted By: KnightHawk @ 10/08/2008 5:44:44 PM

You all need to listen to your pathetic selves. You have no problem with the Wall St. $5000 suits who drove us to this nation's need for a $700 billion dollar bailout, but you take issue with the Main St. public who work for a living and try to improve their lives. Every failure this country has ever suffered has been because black people live here. You're so full of crap you're about to pop! Poor leadership from Bush is what brought us here!

    • Posted By: scubbieduu @ 10/08/2008 8:32:41 PM

blaming Bush? Presidents can do very little except ask for. Congress and the Senate has the power...and Demcrats have been in the majority since 2006...about the time everything starting going to pot...Blacks are just people and American's do not care what color you are...just what sort of charactor you have.

  • Posted By: scubbieduu @ 10/08/2008 8:18:54 PM

The trouble with Democrats: They are like vicious screaming babies...if they do not get their way, deny, deny deny, nothing is ever their fault, someone else is always to blame. They cannot think for theirself, they can only follow and think whatever their 'leader' wants them to think. They cannot face reality. They are in for a big suprise if Obama wins this election and they find out why Barry Obama changed his name to Hussian Obama. McCain, and Sarah Palin will take care of the economy foul up the Democrats made and keep American secure. McCain is, and has always been a loyal American, and he is proud to be an American...he choose a very smart lady (Sarah Palin) of like mind. American should be honored that these two want to serve their country.

Obama won. Presidential demeanor. Delibrated thoughts, with educated answers, ON TOPIC, calm, gentlemanly (he offered to shake McCain's hand at the end, McCain is a COWARD who refused!!!).

McCain - continually flustered. Spewed only the same BS he's been shoveling for YEARS ( do NOT confuse this with "experience"!!!). OFTEN OFF TOPIC and attempting to slander Obama with lies.

It takes more than education to be ready to be the president of the USA...it takes experience and a record to back up what you have been telling people. John McCain did a good job in the debate of pointing out that Hussein Obama's talk does not match his record. Obama is the most liberal senator in the U.S. senate and his record proves it. Obama is so far left you can call him a socialist. Do you want a Fidel Castro like Obama to turn America into a Cuba? Most Americans are not ready for a socialized government. Too many of us were born free and we want to stay free. I am voting for an American Hero who has and will continue to put Country First and John McCain has the record to prove it. John McCain has the experience and the record to be our next president. NOBAMA!!! NOBAMA!!! NOBAMA!!!

Who cares about how Obama looked and that he is a talker. We don't even care aout the color of his skin. What matters is that most of what Obama says is lies that do not match his record. John McCain has a record to back up his words. We are not buying a used car or a sub-prime mortgage, we are electing a president, and we need a president that is not just deceiving us into thinking he has done something he hasn't done. Obama has zero, zip, nada, no foreign policy experience and he has no economic policy experience or balancing a budget experience. Pretending he does does not make it true. NOBAMA!!! NOBAMA!!! NOBAMA!!!

Health insurance for everyone will be almost useless if the patients individual physician cannot write for the medications they know are best for that individual patient. Nobody is addressing the low "quality" of care and the conveyor belt medical-coorporate mentality. Physicians do not turn out "piece" items,or atleast they shouldnot. Also what about an updated constitutional convention. We do not live in 1776! Legal reform is just as vital as health reform. The legal system also is broken and we need to return the law such that the "commom" man[and woman] can obtain justice without going bankrupt. The laws are so complicated, maybe we need professional jurors with specializations just as in medicine. How many jobs would that create!
Also we might have a shot at becomming a nation of justice not just laws.

When Obama colors the hair around his ear, he needs to be sure his scalp isn't dyed, it looks like he painted his hair on.

What was that wire thing sticking out of Obama's ear during the debate?

  • Posted By: izme @ 10/08/2008 6:34:38 PM

Did you notice that Obama's zipper was open all through the debate????

Comment: Comment: My question to those who supports Obama between Kerry and Gore you are looking at 40+yrs of service in the senate and working in government, what makes Obama 2yrs of service (2yrs) more qualtified then these two men? Something just doesn't add up and with the help of the media this year something stinks.......6 months ago we question the leadership of Obama and now he can lead a nation of millions. 6 months ago he was linked to Rev Wright, Ayers and now can can lead our nation? The Obama show is full of crap, this guys is a fraud and the American people are plain down crazy for following this man. Look at the leaders around the world England, China, Australia, Japan, all of their leaders has been in government for ten plus years and none of these countries leaders have did what Obama has managed to do in (2yrs) time. If 2ys yrs are all you need to run for president and win the election then I know what I am going to do? Obama is a joke and our nation is very very very dumb for going down this road. People want to see a different politican but Obama is a shade of the same just different in color. Electing obama over someone who has put in there time been to prison for his country and is by far more experience is a slap in the face and its just not right. Low quality, vs someone who has went the distance,,,,and the winner , is the person who takes cuts......... What is wrong with this picture, and I can only hope the outcome is different, but if its not and Obama becomes our president then America will be a sadden nation because we will have followed a trend of whats popular and that is no way in hell a nation who is as powerful as the U.S. should be. We should be be trend setters not followers and it will be a ugly ugly ugly day on Nov 4 to see Obama win.

Good one Tippology---I couldnt agree with you more. What we are seeing is a Black, Muslim, Neo-Marxist running for president. GOv. Palin is more qualified than he is and she should be running for president. McCain is weak and wont fight back. Just like Bush. You cant be nice to Leftists---you have to punch them in the mouth to get their attention.................Mike RI redneck in NC

      • Posted By: rational 1 @ 10/08/2008 6:20:29 PM

palin should NOT be even considered a possible candidate...she is a hypocritical liar and doesn't even keep her promises to the electorate in Alaska. if you ,a redneck, think she is going to stand up for you- you're not a redneck, you are a poor silly fool. palin will erode your rights as often as she needs to shore up her own powerbase....typical of many unsportsman like hockey parents(unfortunately). don't vote for someone as "normal" as your own self to run the Country...try to get an educated intelligent person into that spot...\ the whole worls is watching to see just how dumb "joe 6pack is"...let's prove 'em wrong_ you betcha'!

    • Posted By: tephraim @ 10/08/2008 9:41:43 AM

With ALL of McCain's experience he is still NOT qualified to be the next president. i.e. I am sure that the CEO's of all of the companies that are failing now had a lot of experience, yet that did not keep the companies that they ran from going under. McCain's level of intolerance and bad judgement scares me a lot more than Obama's lack of years in the Senate.

  • Posted By: KnightHawk @ 10/08/2008 5:58:26 PM

If we have ever needed unity, in the community...its now; surely right now! Good-Knight!

  • Posted By: KnightHawk @ 10/08/2008 5:51:23 PM

This will never be the "United States of America" because we will always be divided by those who love to keep this crap going. Blacks can serve in the military, pay their taxes, own and operate their own businesses but they can never be viewed as contributors. I do not look at all whites as trailer-trash, or hill-billies or red-necks but all blacks are lumped together as ghetto, street ***. You're not Americans, you're the communist!

  • Posted By: KnightHawk @ 10/08/2008 5:37:08 PM

So let me get this straight; this nation's current financial woes are based on your facts that because the lending market decided to try to undo their discriminatory practices of not allowing black-Americans to qualify for housing, has caused the complete break-down of Wall St? Not the greed on Wall St. which has caused them to already spend $440,000 on a junket for the fat-cats! No...its all because black people are too poor!!!

Obama met numerous times in recent months with ACORN leaders.

  • Posted By: izme @ 10/08/2008 5:25:46 PM

Countrywide Mortgage, which is now ???hurtling toward bankruptcy??? and its role in granting mortgages now in default on an amazing scale. The Obama campaign had to distance itself from its one-time VP vetter Jim Johnson whom received questionable loans from Countrywide. Intrestingly, the Obama campaign had been critcal of Hillary Clinton for its relationship with Countrywide.

  • Posted By: izme @ 10/08/2008 5:12:23 PM

No doubt Obama is very proud of his role as a ???community activist??? for ACORN.

If ACORN were merely another whiny left-wing group that never did anything, it might be something we could all laugh off as cute. But alas, ACORN is neither cute nor laughable; it is a very determined, very powerful outfit which believes in implementing socialism, and works hard to create the right conditions to make socialism inevitable, and ineradicable

The pattern of funneling money to political allies and their allies is evident throughout Obama???s tenure at the Woods Fund. Tens and tens of thousands of dollars were granted to organizations including the Brighton Park Neighborhood Council, Business and Professional People for the Public Interest (BPPPI), the Center for Neighborhood Technology, Centers for New Horizons, the Chicago Jobs Council, the Chicago Education Fund, the Chicago Institute on Urban Poverty, the Chicago Urban League, The Gamaliel Foundation. Dozens of the board members and officials from these organizations in turn would donate money, in many instances up to the legal limit, for Obama???s Senate and Presidential races between 2004 and 2008.

For example the Woods Fund between 1999 and 2002 granted $60,000 to BPPPI. Board member and executives donated at least $16,950 to Obama???s political campaigns. The Woods Fund granted the Center of Neighborhood Technology $150,000 between 1999 and 2002. Obama received over $24,000 in campaign donations from its officials. And in turn Obama made sure to seek earmarks on their behalf once he reached the U.S. Senate.

When the media did everything from get yet another Democratic supporter like Tom Brokaw to "hand pick the questions from the audience of "undecieded voters" in phony townhall style setting of course Obama was going to look competent. That's the only way he could.

Everyone knows or should know that McCain has not only been doing townhalls all over the country this whole time even when Obama refused to do any when invited by McCain "several times" the media had to move "heaven and earth" to make sure that this debate was fool proof. And Obama was the Fool!

The only feed back I got out of this last debate was that Obama is going to tax us to death like his poor constituents in IL with high sales and gas taxes. And when he raises capital gains on companies everyone will be on Welfare because all of the compaines will leave US and leave us with even fewer jobs.

He wants everyone to be poor. That way we will all be "the same" and the liberal media is none to happy to help. And stop thinking about how this is going to hurt the rich. The rich are already covering their hides. The second it gets too hot....Their Gone! And I mean out of the Country gone. And dont think you can move out of the country either because the rest of the world hates us more than any Republican could.

But no worries b/c Obama will lose b/c all across this country states are relizing what ACORN under the Obama campaign is doing (10 states and counting investigating them for voter fraud) and Obama will not only ruin his life but also drag down the entire Democratic party. This is going to bad. Keep it going contact your state rep and your Attorney General! Save our Democracy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally Good news! You cant stop the truth!

After much protesting - Hulu.com brought back the Saturday Night Live Congress Bailout skit back. CHECK IT OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!

McCain only made a fool out of himself. His barely contained fury begs the question; "How will he react to foreign diplomats if he is the President?" As for racism how about McCain's close friendship with Liddy, a known anti-semitic? What experience is required? Do you not know that our country has had past presidents that were labeled as inexperienced? McCain is an angry old man and Palin is an empty shell. While I agree our choices are not the best I feel that McCain is the WORST choice to make!
