    Interesting article, however, anyone with a small knowledge of history would know that Oliver Cromwell turned down the position of monarch when offered the Crown of England after the civil war. So the premise that George Washington was the only man in history to do this is incorrect. But this makes two that I know of. Anyone aware of any others???
