I was just on the phone with my sister. My niece goes to UTA in Arlington, Texas. There was a group of black sorority selling Obama t-shirts. This white guy came up to the group and told them that they where going to hell for voting for Obama. This one girl said ???What is your name, I am going to pray for you???. Along came this white girl approaching and pushed one of the blacks and said Obama is the anti-Christ. Well, like always, you start crap and can not finish it. The white girl ran into the building to tell. Now, she and the other guy clearly started the whole thing. This is the kind of thing that is going to happen time and time again. Mostly because there are still a lot of racist, but partly and a big part is all the crap that is going on with the McCain Palin campaign.
A black guy in London got shot three times for wearing an Obama t-shirt, and saying,
???I f---ing hate n------. This is ridiculous. McCain needs to accept responsibility and stop this sh--. If anything happen to Obama or anyone doing this time McCain-Plain are to blame.

Obama, top of his class at Harvard. McCain, damn near bottom of his class.

camelback; I think your misinterpreting the bible, maybe you need to re-read and pray for understanding. Or maybe your just in fear of a black man having that much power.

This isn't about color - Let me guess - you are African American? There will always be militant people out there against religion, color or beliefs. Why do you feel that all this is happening just because of Obama's skin color. I think Obama is wet behind the ears and needs to put in more years of service. He has some good ideas, if you like socialism. I prefer to keep what I've worked hard to earn. For the people who don't feel it necessary to advance themselves and sit on their behinds and let the government tell them when they can wipe, then go ahead and vote Democrat - don't vote that way because of his color though.

As if Obama being at the top of a SCHOOL class has anything to do with real life situations. Being book smart means absolutely nothing if you're a radical left-wing liberal who wants to instiute Socialism in America.
McCain's life experiences in the military and Congress as a Senator and House Representative more than make up for any classroom failings he may have had.
At least I know McCain has the interests of the country in mind and is not6 after power just for the ego trip.

Both of these guys exaggerate and lie when it is convenient. Neither of them will make a good president. Face it, we are screwed again for another four years. At least we can make fun and complain about their incompetence without being thrown in jail.

I believe both candidates have misrepresented the truth on several occasions. What we must remember is that we cannot vote based upon our emotions. When we base things on our emotions (things that will change), we usually make wrong decisions for our lives. I want to have the American dream and leave a piece of the Ameircan pie to my children and my children's children. Both parties hsould unite in saying that they are both to blame. NItpicking and being overaly critical will not sway my vote one way or the other. I am looking at where we are as a country and where I want to be in the near future. As a former Army soldier who knows that McCain is considered a war hero, I cannot reconcile with the fact that he would even remotely consider keeping our troops in harm's way for the next 100 years. Obama may not have the most experience, but most people do not have all of the qualifications desired by the agency for which thay desire to be hired. In addition, I beleive Chris Rock said it best when he asked (I'm going to paraphrase), "Who do you want as president during these tough economic times..a guy with one house or a guy with nine?" He responded by saying that he was going for the guy with one house! A guy with 9 houses is not worried about losing his house (he still had 8 more to sleep in! Now a guy with one house...he has something to worry about.

It is no one's fault but our own for the shady practices that Washington so dearly embraces. We have allowed our politicians to get away with things we wouldn't dare allow our own children to get away with - stealing, bribery, lying, just to name a few. We are the driving force behind our government, it s us that give these men and women the power to make decisions that affect our lives down to the very core. On that same token, it is we who have the power to take it away. You can continue to point fingers until the cow comes home, but let's be honest we have BOTH Republican and Democrats in office and the share the decline our country is in equally. The sad part is that we are the ones that put them there. So, before you start pointing fingers and passing the buck remember that the 'Buck stops here'. Stand up and fight against polictical corruption, do your OWN homework instead of getting your information from a biased media (both candidates have their own media stations that favor them - does that honestly sound like a reliable place to get your information?), and demand more of our politicians. They should be held to the higest of standards not the lowest. Until we start expecting more of our Presidential candidates and our elected officials (from the city council members of your town all the way on up the food chain), corruption and shady practices are all we are going to get.

  • Posted By: Lucky0602 @ 10/09/2008 12:04:01 AM

Come on American, wake up! All of our candidates are corrupt and it is our fault. We need to demand more and stop accepting their shady practices. I don't care which candidate you are for, BOTH have less than honorable dealings - be it who they keep company with, whom they have accepted 'donations' from, underhanded deals they have made at the hard working American expense, you name it. We are ultimately the ones to blame because we have become accustomed to the dishonest politician and that isn't going to change until we demand it. We can point fingers back and forth until the cow comes home about who is to blame for the war in Iraq, who is to blame for the housing crisis, the stock market plunge, poor education, poor healthcare - take your pick. At the end of the day OUR government is made of Democrats and Republicans - all of whom share the blame. it is their votes that make the decisions and it is us who gave them that power and WE have the power to take it away. So, get off your overindulged behinds and start demanding that our policitican keep honest practices. They should be held to the highest standards, not the lowest.

3 men brought down wall street. With their governing tactics in Fannie Mae, and being let go, with millions of the golden air balloon money in their pockets. Guess what, they all work for the Obama campaign now. I shudder to think if he gets in the white house with a democratic congress, where this country will go.......down , down, down. and u think u have it rough now, with all those entitlements! wait til he sucks U dry!

It does not really matter....America is going to Hell in a hand basket real soon if we don't get right with God.....so who really cares whose in the oval office........At the end it all comes down to you and God...last time I looked 10 out of 10 people die..there is only one who rose from the dead...so there is only one who deserves our honor and our praise..there is only one we should follow......
If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray then I will hear from heaven forgive their sins and heal their land....this is what we need to be doing Pray...pray....pray

Singfather; you are both an IDIOT and obviously a republican. The minority groups as you have so ineptly stated are NOT THE ONES WHO HAVE STOLEN MONIES FROM SHAREHOLDERS, TAXPAYERS AND THE LIKE How many "minorites" were in included in that AIG junket last weekend and the pending planned next one this weekend. Get a life and stop reading comic books.

  • Posted By: singfather @ 10/08/2008 11:22:20 PM

Does it really matter what either one claims? They are both in in for them selves and not the AMERICAN people! Neither one of them is the ones that make or pass the laws, it is the senate and house that do that.! All he does is sign it if it was favorable. NOW, let's take a good look at what our senate and house just did, SPENT OVER 700 BILLION DOLLARS OF OUR MONEY! I am sorry but when you have that many money hungry people in government the PRESIDENT, no matter who he is, is going to vote for the majority of the people that WE voted in. Let's change the way we look at things and start getting rid of the problem from the bottom up. As long as they keep us concerned about who is at the TOP, we will never be abel to go forward in this country. I truely believe that we will be taken over by other countries without a shot being fired as long as we continue to let the government continue to keep giving tax breaks, loans, and all other help to the minority groups instead of AMERICANS.

  • Posted By: wadebeck @ 10/08/2008 11:17:29 PM

I just can't believe out of millions of people in this country, these two are what we have to pick from to be President? This has to be the biggest joke in all other countries. I am not laughing.

I would be for a return to sanctions on the media. I haven't completely decided who I want to vote for. If I went by the commercials and pundits, McCain is the only one attacking and twisting the truth, while Obama is running a clean campaign and comes across better. But when I read fact finding articles and watch the debates myself, I see Obama as just as bad and sometimes worse. I don't see one shining way above the other, that's why I'm still wrestling with my decision. Maybe if all the pundits would stay out of it and let the American people decide based on facts and debates, we could make an accurately informed decision. Of course that assumes Americans can still think for themselves and make intelligent decisions without the sway of looks (black or white, charismatic or heroic).

  • Posted By: AhfganSolja @ 10/08/2008 11:08:07 PM

I think both candidates are liars. Just look at the debate they totally took everything out of context. Picking apart each others statements and playing a tune as if the song were a lulaby, which I mean literally the debate was boring. Mccain walked around like an old broken robert bickering and ranting grumpy oldmen jokes that fell flat. The majority of America is right we need to fix our country and quit fighting amongst ourselves. I am undecided right now maybe even all the way to the election polls. Oh Mccain needs to ditch that Palin dummy, she's hurting the campaign more than helping it.

McCain is no spring chicken or health fanatic. If something happens to him, will you be comfortable with Palin as the president? We must all agree that we are living in historic times. After Nov. 4th the history books will be rewritten. As everyone can see, we can no longer look for our world leaders to protect us or make us self sufficient. One thing that this race has done is made us aware of the political process and how facts can be mistated. I urge everyone to learn more about finances and politics. I just read an awesome book about the history of past presidents called "Presidents, All you need to know"., I think amazon sells it, I got it from the library. This book has really opened my eyes on how corrupt and simple many of them are. Let's change the game & take control of our personal finances & STOP WASTING ENERGY & LIVING BEYOND OUR MEANS.

Obama was off the mark when he said that oil companies "currently have 68 million acres that they're not using."
As we've pointed out previously, those 68 million leased acres are not producing oil, but they are not necessarily untouched. In fact, in 2006, the last year for which figures are available, there were a total of more than 15,000 holes that were being proposed, started or finished, according to the Bureau of Land Management. These acres of land that these holes sit on are not counted as being "producing," but they are certainly far from untouched.
BY DEFINITION "NOT USING" REFERS TO NOT PUMPING FOR OIL. HIS STATEMENT SAID NOTHING ABOUT UNTOUCHED, UNSOILED, OR VIRGINAL.
Obama: The same way the computer was originally invented by a bunch of government scientists who were trying to figure out, for defense purposes, how to communicate, we've got to understand that this is a national security issue, as well.
It's true that the first electronic computer, ENIAC, or the Electronic Numerical Integrator And Computer, was developed at the University of Pennsylvania with funding from the War Department.
But ENIAC was not actually the first computer. That distinction belongs to the difference engine, a mechanical computer invented in 1822 by the British mathematician Charles Babbage. And even Babbage was drawing on earlier work, such as the calculating machine built in 1671 by the German philosopher Gottfried Liebniz.
THIS IS JUST QUIBBLING FOR QUIBBLINGS SAKE, ITS TRIVIAL PURSUIT. IF YOU WANTED TO ARGUE OVER THE "BIRTH" OF THE COMPUTER WHAT ABOUT THE ABACUS? ADMIT HE WAS CORRECT WITHOUT THE TRIVIAL PURSUIT CAVEATS.
???Obama said: "When George Bush came into office, our debt ??? national debt???was around $5 trillion. It's now over $10 trillion."  Actually, it was closer to $6 trillion when Bush took office. On Jan. 22, 2001 (two days after Bush was sworn in) the debt stood at $5.728 trillion. On Sept. 30, 2008, it was $10.025 trillion.
WHILE THE NUMBER IS SIGNIFICANT, AGAIN IT'S QUIBBLING FOR QUIBBLINGS SAKE.
THESE POINTS IN PARTICULAR SHOW AN ATTEMPT BY THE AUTHOR TO PROVE OBAMA WRONG RATHER THAN TO CORRECT FACTUAL ERRORS, WHAT HE SAID WAS TRUE. THE AUTHORS ARE PURSING MISTAKES FOR THE SAKE OF FINDING FAULT. YOU MIGHT AS WELL ANALYZE EVERY MISSPOKEN WORD. HOWEVER, IT IS INTERESTING TO NOTE THAT WHILE YOU ATTEMPT TO FIND GAFFS BY OBAMA, YOU IGNORE TRUE FACTUAL ERRORS BY MCCAIN.

If this election cycle has demonstrated anything, it is that in order to preserve democracy in this country, it is passed time we reconsidered the additional protections provided the media by the Supreme Court in New York Times v. Sullivan, 376 U.S. 254 (1964), which protects the media from most slander and libel suits. While perhaps noble at the time in its conception, the media has abundantly demonstrated that for the advancement of their own political agenda, on both sides, and to fill the demands of the 24/7 news cycle, they are willing to abandon any pretense of objectivity or, more importantly, of journalistic ethics. Since they cannot exercise the power they have been given responsibly on their own, perhaps it is necessary to return the threat of legal sanction under which they operated prior to 1954.

Randy Higgins you are absolutely a RACIST! Obama was raised by his mother and grandparents-all white and protestant -non practicing. what's Muslim about that?
What you are really saying is that you don't like him because he's black. You don't know anything else about him and haven't bothered to learn because you are a bigot.

Well Factcheck.org missed the fact McCain tried to kiss up to American workers, while stabbing them in the back.
The fact is you cannot support Bush's economic plan and the working class at the same time the two are simply not compatible.
The fact is you cannot support the illegals and propose amnesty and support American workers at the same time the two are simply not compatible.
Just as Reagan economics have stuck it to the American middle class from the outset, quite frankly it is clear Reagan had no concept of business, one would think Bush might have some idea but then again he only took SBA money and ran with it, never repaying a dime so maybe that is how he thinks all business's work.
They don't; few have the luxury of any government support and succeed only by the sweat and sacrifice of a dreamers brow.
McCain has no clue what so ever, and thinks Reagan and Bush got it right, The old fool still thinks the economy is sound, and all we need to so is continue giving the wealthy a tax cut and everything is going to be just peachy, just stay the course.
Must be nice to be in a position to ignore reality.

As a college educated women, I am also embarrassed to see some one as ignorant as Sarah Palin chosen as a VP candidate. Also, only some one that is a real idiot would disparage the post of another person by using misspelled words and grammatically incorrect sentences. Perhaps, if you were a little more educated yourself, you might be able to tell that Sarah Palin is not.

tera, since you blasted someone else on their "intelligence" I thought it would be ok if I let you know that you had at least two grammatical errors in your post of "higher education". I am sure that you are a college educated woman (not women as that is plural) and someone is not two words( "some one") as you mistakenly wrote. Just an FYI...

Thank you for the corrections. I always read these comments and have never posted before. I didn't check for errors before posting. First and foremost, I was not claiming to be someone that had superior spelling or grammer skills. Also, I was not trying to infer that I was more intelligent than anyone else. I was trying to make a point - no one is perfect and the person that is going to lead our country should at least be a little bit above average intelligence. FYI - Since you thought it would be appropriate to "blast" me for any errors in my post: Maybe you should have made sure that your post didn't contain any. Most of the sentences in both of your reworded insults are not grammatically correct. Couldn't come up with a different insult the second time? Both comments are about the same two mistakes. - Just an FYI

Someone needs to let McCain know that a $5,000 tax credit will not do any good for those of us who live on low incomes.. Last year, for example, all of our income taxes were refunded. In the McCain plan, we would still be paying the $600. a month medical insurance., as would one of my son who is in college and another who is making low wages and has three children. I guess I man who has 13 cars can't understand that many of us could never afford the insurance!

Yeah, and he also has about nine houses. His wife spent over $300K on her jewels and wardrobe for the GOP convention this year (more than some peoples' home mortgages!)... yet it was Michelle Obama who actually made the Best Dressed List this year (and rightfully so - poor Cindy looks like something the cat dragged in with her ratpack hairstyle and gaudy clothing)... oh well... all in a day's distraction! ;-)
