to cbr1965 - Oh please. What is sad is when only liberal women can represent all women. When liberal women are the only smart women. It's sad when any republican running is either stupid or unqualified as defined just by the open- minded liberal. I don't know what republican friends you have, but my smart, intelligent, hard-working, successful, well-educated and moral friends think the type of hate your spread is ignorant!

You know, every Republican woman is not necessarily unqualified because they are a Republican, It just be that they are unqualified AND A REPUBLICAN. It's possible to be one and NOT the other!Enter Your Comment

Its just not the case with Sarah. She an unqualified idiot who IS a Republican. However in the case of most Democratic women they aren't an unqualified idiot and they aren't a Republican!!!!!

The fact that she is some sort of a cult figure and a political rock star does not a qualified person make. She is an actor. Askilled politician, but not a public servant. She can put her unique spin on whatever her writers give to her as a script, but she has no insight. Blame the media, blame the democrats, blame men; the bottom line is that the Palin you saw talking to Gibson and Couric is the real Palin. The Palin you see at the "town halls, the stump speeches and the debate are an incredibly skilled actor. If any f you honestly can look forward to a actor in the White House, know this, she is no Ronald Reagan, shes not even an Govenator, shes George Bush with an up-do. Her lack of qualifications dont include a vagina, they include a total ineptitude of all things national; and that should make everyone cringe at the position she is putting our country in.

Obama on the defensive. "When I told ACORN to register the dead to vote, I meant the Grateful Dead" said the candidate in downtown Cleveland today.

the republican party is like a company that is selling a bad product to the public and the public find out that the product is bad and stop buying it, so the company repackage and rename the product, and call it the maverick but its the same bad product Bush.
Mccain is nothing more then a republican gimmick- after eight years of bad republicans policies , the republicans just rename their product to sale to the unexpected public the same old fail policies renamed and call MCCAIN the maverick. what a joke.

I am a man. I was offended by the SEXISM of DeeDee Myers who said: "If she'd been allowed to work as governor of Alaska, stand for re-election, maybe be involved in something like the National Governors Association, travel around the country, travel around the world a little bit, develop a world view that's more clearly thought through than the one she has now, she could have been a formidable candidate. And she may still be. But as it stands right now, to say that Barack Obama is no more qualified than Sarah Palin is laughable in my view."

Yet this very smart woman does not say: "If HE'D been allowed to work as SENATOR FOR ILLINOIS, stand for re-election, maybe be involved in something like the DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL COMMITTEE, travel around the country BETWEEN LARGE CITIES, travel around the world a little bit, develop a world view that's more clearly thought through than the one HE has now, HE could have been a GOOD candidate. And HE may still be. But as it stands right now, to say that SARAH PALIN is noT MOREqualified than BARACK OBAMA is laughable in my view."

The old rancher said, 'Well, ya know, Palin is a post turtle.'

Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a post turtle was. The old rancher said, 'When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a post turtle.' The old rancher saw a puzzled look on the doctor's face, so he continued to explain.

'You know she didn't get up there by herself, she doesn't belong up there, she doesn't know what to do while she is up there, and you just wonder what kind of dumb ass put her up there to begin with.'

to fccFH - I could not disagree with you more. You call anyone who disagrees with you names. You show such a lack of respect for others. I have not read an opinion by you that I found to be intelligent and objective. Actually in truly intelligent people those characteristics go hand in hand. I don't like saying unkind things about others but you have such an obnoxious attitude towards anyone who thinks differently.

    • Posted By: fccFH @ 10/10/2008 3:58:27 PM

One more point- I do not care when people disagree with me. Its healthy. If I had such a hard time dealing with it I would not go on this site. But when people attack Obama because of his middle name, when people attack him because of his race, or if people attack his wife because she has a different hair texture- I am going to call these people what they are. And quite frankly, if people are going to make statements that are racist, bigoted, or full of hate- they know they are, so they should not be offended by my comments. And if they have a problem with what I say, they can bring it up with me. Rather than just coming on, knocking someone, as you have with me, and then leaving without providing an actual argument- why not say something a little more intelligent. If what you want is dialogue, I am open to it- I think it would be good for both of us considering that we differ on so many levels. And what I would love from you is a rational argument for why you support your candidate. I have posted mine under many different articles- and you disagree, fine, great, but tell me where you disagree- lets have a chat- and if you want the petty name calling to stop, then why dont you do so as well.

    • Posted By: fccFH @ 10/10/2008 2:48:47 PM

What I cannot stand about you is that you get so easily offended. This is site where people voice their opinions and objections. You only come to tell people you do not like them, but you never, NEVER, provide or add anything of value or intelligence. Not once have you ever discussed or added to the issues at hand. Why can you not ever actually discuss the issues? You sit there chiding me for objecting to others and you go and do the exact same to me! Are you the dumbest person in America or what? I mean, I know where you attended college, and also where your daughter attended college. Maybe it is because you went to a school where all you had to do was spell your name right and the state had to let you in, that you received such a pathetic education and are completely unable to think rationally or make comments that actually add value to a conversation. I should only hope that the safety school your child attended has provided her with a more rounded perspective of the world than the narrow-minded, bigoted, and cold hearted universe you clearly live in. I have read your inane posts and have held back from saying anything. I feel that conversations between people with such differing opinions, in order to stay on a rational level, should be civilized. But clearly you are unable to do that, so I will hit back with this low blow. But you deserve it. I sit here and read all the hate spewing from so many bloggers mouths, but because you happen to agree with it, you say nothing. My rhetoric and demeanor is neither obnoxious nor un-objective, it is simply reacting to some of the hateful, disgusting, and mindless things people like you say. We obviously have differing perspectives, and there is nothing wrong with that. And until simple minded people like you learn that there can be differences in this world, this country will never advance. You should be very ashamed of yourself.

There are degrees and the Reps in McCain/Palin and posters like Icyeyes, sportslock09, holyroller are worse. Obama has been negative - but he bases his attacks on fact that can be checks - he distorts, but he is in the ballpark. McCain is nothing but abstract, far-out, and makes personal assaults. There are degrees, and the Reps are far worse? Not just my opinion - every media outlet and thinking person tired of the acidity in the McCain campaign.

I am amazed that the republicans destroy Kerry???s reputation as flip-floper simply for changing his position once about the war.
In this campaign McCain has changed his positions MANY times, his campaign strategy MANY times and have lied so much that even Karl Rove, who is the master in slezy campaign said McCain has gone too far and do not pass the 100% test and that was BEFORE this last wave of dirtiest political attacks ever.
Palin have not complied with the state investigation, have lied over and over from the bridge to nowhere, the earmarks, the 20% energy supply, her experience, her travels and the list is very long.
How in the world do people continue to hear what they say and believe what they say is incomprehensible to me!
I blame Biden for being so polite, I understand they are having an exemplary campaign but ENOUGH! They should call all her lies and misrepresentations and above all her ties with Alaskan Independence Party and Joe Vogler anti-American ideals in league with Iran! She has no moral authority to talk!
He should remain people about the true McCain temper in WA and his treason when caught in Vietnam giving military information in exchange for saving his skin. About the Iran-contras deals and ties to nazis, his ties with Hagee, Liddy, the Keating five etc...

So Kerry was unfit because he flip-flopped and McCain NO?? Hello!!!!
And the Palins pallin around with anti-American and talking about Ayers who has been rehabilitated and whose bad activities were done when Obama was 8 years old? She was talking to the AIP convention this year!!!! Hello!!!!!!

  • Posted By: josemarti @ 10/10/2008 12:37:38 PM

Obama on the defensive. "When Mr. Ayers told me years ago that he regretted the extent of his group's terrorist activities, I thought that he was being remorseful. I did not realize that he meant he was sorry they had not killed more people." said the candidate today in Cleveland.

    • Posted By: baybluv @ 10/10/2008 3:45:24 PM

Why do you think he's on the defensive, he merely commented on what he was thinking at the time. After all, he was only 8 when all of this terrorist stuff was going on. Wake up and smell the coffee instead of your stinking behind.

I consider myself to be a very liberal and committed democrat. I was at first shocked by the naming of Palin as the veep for McPain. Then, I realized that by launching her those clever republicans showed us this year's biggest swift boat effort. Lo and behold, Sarah herself is the swift boat.
But be that as it may, I will say a couple of things on her behalf. I would venture to guess she's a fairly decent person, albeit worlds away from my own politics. She's clever, she's probably quite charming if you were to meet her in person, and in a social situation she probably can be fun.
My big criticism of her is that she is about as far away as you can get from being a viable future president. To invest her with that power is not just foolish, it's insanity to a degree never before seen. That's why we do not want McSame in power, it's too dangerous allowing her to be there as well.

Pallin has a thicker resume than NObama for God's sake, and she has more executive experience . . . so what is there about this that is so hard for many angry NObama Bloggers to understand?

GET OVER THE FACT THAT McCAIN PICKED SOMEONE FOR VP WHO IS BETTER QUALFIED THAN THE DEMOCRATIC CHOICE FOR PRESIDENT!

THE DIFFERENCES IN MCCAIN'S VP CHOICE AND THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY'S CHOICE FOR PRESIDENT ARE SIGNIFICANT:

#1. EXPERIECE (PALLIN IS BETTER QUALIFIED), #2. THE VP=ABSOLUTE WOMAN, NOBAMA= STUFFED SHIRT. #3. VP=AVERAGE INCOME WITH LITTLE $$$$$ TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE CAMPAIGN, WHEREAS NOBAMA HAS COLLECTED TONS & TONS OF MONEY, FROM STUDENTS AND FIRST TIME VOTERS(?)

ARE YOU GOING TO LET NOBAMA BUY HIS SPACE IN THE PRESIDENT'S OFFICE? THAT IS NOT HOW AN ELECTION IS SUPPOSED TO WORK. . . BUT THEN THERE IS SUCH A CONCEPT AS "DIRTY CHICAGO POLITICS."

    • Posted By: sportlock009 @ 10/10/2008 11:42:11 AM

You have to realize 1. She's not a Dem, if so they would be in the bag for her.

      2. Dems tend to vote with their bigoted noses so far in the air the most important thing to them is, is she a Dem first, and do I like the way she looks 2nd. Woman are very insecure when it comes to other women. Would I be lying if I said all women hang out with a ugly girl to make themselves look better? Ask a married man how many hot girlfriends their wives have. Then for the very low percentage that actually do, how does your wife talk about them behing their backs?

I wish we could do away with Repubs and Dems all together. This year should prove beyond any other that these two men running for President have completely difference views on the way America should be run. I personally feel that Sarah Palin will be great in 10 years. It's a shame that she decided to jump on a sinking ship and I hope she and her family do not regret it. This election will come down to where you think the country needs to go. I don't know why the US buys the "trickle down" effect. Bottom lin is if the middle class cannot afford to go shopping the small business's along with the large companies will all suffer as a result. Middle America needs relief and I don't feel like the Republican views align with helping me. If the rich want to make more money and not pay more they need to move out of the counrty and stop complaining. I am a former Repub that voted for Bush 2X but this year... Obama/Biden 08!

    • Posted By: baybluv @ 10/10/2008 3:42:57 PM

i understand how you feel, I am still torn between the two but I just do not have that much faith in Obama either. I have always voted Republican but this year, so much is on the line and I am not about to jump on the Obama bandwagon( i am not suggesting you were, but so many are and for the wrong reasons) or McCain's either for that matter. I can only hope things will become more clear in our near future, Peace.

    • Posted By: sportlock009 @ 10/10/2008 11:25:29 AM

Awe, isn't that special? She's not so much concerned about how effective Gov. Palin would be in the White House, she's more concerned about who, based off of appearence, she wouldn't like in the white house. Mind numbing to know we let people like you vote isn't it? Question, when you look at someone and decide you don't like them and think they are unqualified based solely off of their appearance, is that called a racist or a bigot?

      • Posted By: AskPlus @ 10/10/2008 1:28:34 PM

But you're the judgemental, seemingly ignorant case Mr. Mo-nay. You like to call people the N-word, teach kids to fight instead of talk, and you want to vote for the mean, substance-less aggressor. No surprise, but leave blogs alone until you find a calm sir. Caroline was right. Todd admitted to wanting to get this guy fired while sitting behind Palin's desk at the State House. Not right. Mr. Mo-nay.

I'm glad for the far right getting a woman representative for their views, its only fair and it's what this country is based on.

Regarding her world view, her politics and manipulation of her sex appeal to get ahead. We women can just agree to disagree. I find several things about her world view and how she chooses to get a head morally repugnant. Her narrow views and the possibility of someone with her limited experience possibly being catapulted to President of the United States - that I find horrifying.

Anti-intellectualism is not a winning tactic, mediocrity is not where I want the country to go. Our children our future deserve better and so I am wholeheartedly out there canvassing and doing whatever I can to get Obama elected. It's time for excellence to be America's guidepost again.

And you probably loved Bill Clinton with his $400 haircuts and swaggering personality. He did a lot for the moral reputation of our country in the world view. Now Sarah is criticized because she is attractive..why can't we just be like men? Do you care about Obama's haircut? Personally, I think if he let it grow a little longer, his ears would't look so big!

    • Posted By: fccFH @ 10/10/2008 11:19:09 AM

Are you out of your mind? People do not criticize Sarah for being attractive, I find her ugly and homely quite frankly. They criticize her for having no strong grasp of the issues that face this country, for lying about her accomplishments, and for running a nasty smear campaign all while covering up her own misconducts. Again, we are not talking about appearance here, we are voting on who can most effectively run this country. Who can fix our economy, health care, social security, education, international relations, and get us out of war. Do you get that? Stop peddling your appearance crap you shallow moron and focus on actual issues!

      • Posted By: Babe @ 10/10/2008 3:02:39 PM

I guess you don"t recognize sarcasm. Don't be so quick to call other people morons. That is precisely why we are in such trouble in this country. I yearn for someone to emerge as a true leader, just like you do. Barack is too much of an automaton, unproven..he would make a very good vice president. I believe that is why he is constantly compared to Sarah. I have a friend who has a son living in Alaska. I asked her the other day if he had shared any thoughts about her. She said they love her.

        • Posted By: fccFH @ 10/10/2008 3:37:03 PM

You know what, you are right about the moron comment, and I do prefer to hold back on those comments because they are petty and without thought; but here is the problem. As the days to the election wind down, we are getting more and more people that truly are professing their devotion to a leader based on inane reasoning such as that. With the recent rallying on the part of McCain and Palin, we are also getting a lot more hate speech on this site than we have in the past. And not only is it disgusting, but also horrifying, and I think it is bringing out the worst in all of us. You should also recognize that there was not much in your comment that would somehow read as sarcasm. With that aside, I will say that I disagree with your stance. I feel that McCain, though having more experience, given his proposals for how he is going to change this country, which I have read on his own website, do resonate a lot with those that Bush has been practicing for eight years. This concerns me. I understand your objection to Obama, and it makes sense, but despite that, I feel that his proposals for change, at least in an economic and social atmosphere, are what will get us back to where we were eight years ago, putting us in a platform where we can start over. My feeling is that with McCain we will get eight more years of the same, digging us into a deeper hole, and that is not a democratic stump phrase, it really rings true when you consider all his proposals. With Obama, we probably wont get eight years from him, he will most likely be a one term president. I just feel that those four years will be far more effective and prosperous that the eight we would get with McCain.

I think women are far smarter than to just jump on the Sarah Palin bandwagon because she's a woman. I would love to have a woman in a President or Vice President role but I don;t see how putting someone who is short-sighted, who does not reflect many women's viewpoints and has a total lack of intellectual curiosity about what happens in the world into one of those jobs. To compare Hillary and Sarah Palin is incomprehensible - Hillary was qualified, Palin most definitely is not. She has charges hanging over her head in Alaska after being on the job a short time - and has shown her "old school politics" by appointing not the most qualified people into positions of power in Alaska, but long-time friends instead. I think comparing her government experience to Hillary's is like comparing an elementary school student's homework to that of a PhD student at MIT or Stanford. I am embarrassed that the best woman McCain could come up with is Palin - it just shows how little he thinks of women's intelligence and knowledge of worldwide and domestic issues. He thought he he could pick up Hillary voters with her? I think she is a laughingstock, even among my Republican friends - smart, informed and articulate women. Sarah Palin may be intelligent, I personally see her skill set as politically savvy more than intelligent but due to her lack of coherence, the Republicans give her the dirty job of repeating her "attack dog" mantras. It's a sad time for women in this country to be represented by the likes of Palin. She alone determined that I would cross party lines and vote for Obama.

    • Posted By: sportlock009 @ 10/10/2008 12:33:26 PM

I think intelligence can be better based from actions. Your actions do not reflect that woman are smart enough to make a decision based off of anything but their own biasedness and hate for the prettier woman. Yesterday I saw an article actually referring to Palin as the mean pretty girl from high school. I guess they ran that article because they DONT believe women vote their personal biasednesses huh? LMAO

to tiredoflies: If you are so tired of them why do you spread them. I hope young people are not deceived by your drivel.

    • Posted By: AskPlus @ 10/10/2008 1:06:33 PM

"I hope you are not deceived by your drivel"?

But you lie all day. Why judge him?

      • Posted By: paproudmom @ 10/10/2008 1:27:29 PM

Is this really the best you can do? Oh right, your the one who has Bardot as your political advisor.

        • Posted By: AskPlus @ 10/10/2008 1:46:39 PM

See. I post an opinion and the Rep believes she is my advisor. Now I get why you guys do the "guilt by association" thing. You'll do it with every body. I see. I post Bardot - therefore we are in bed together. I see. But I'm partial to the 25-30 age range for women. Sorry.

          I do pretty well though.

          • Posted By: paproudmom @ 10/10/2008 1:55:46 PM

Oh please spare me your liberal talking points. I'm going back to work this is just too boring.

            • Posted By: AskPlus @ 10/10/2008 3:32:37 PM

Deflection right? That's the term right? I say "this is my detailed plan", and you call me a book-hater or something, right?

      • Posted By: paproudmom @ 10/10/2008 1:22:23 PM

I do not lie. Is this really the best you can do? Especially coming from a person who cites Bardot as a source of guidance. Please!

        • Posted By: AskPlus @ 10/10/2008 1:33:56 PM

Yep. You lie. Is Palin behaving like an executive -normal? Is McCain going too far and lying. Who is to blame for the new swift-boat tactics? Why do you support it? Is ALL the media wrong and you are right?

All you have to know - liar.

          • Posted By: neocon @ 10/10/2008 1:43:43 PM

Please, Obama/Biden hasn't exactly cornered the market in being truthful either.

          • Posted By: paproudmom @ 10/10/2008 1:40:01 PM

Oh now you have the media and Bardot as your advisors. You are entertaining the people in my office. A co-worker said you seem to resort to name calling because you have nothing of value to say.

        • Posted By: AskPlus @ 10/10/2008 1:34:44 PM

Oh. I thought the Bardot thing was cute. Even dog people can't stand Palin.

            I'm a cat person actually.

If these women don't say Palin would be a complete disaster for our country, you didn't get the smartest women.

    • Posted By: paproudmom @ 10/10/2008 1:50:37 PM

Why am I not surprised by your attitude. Maybe not the smartest just the most well-rounded. It takes a lot more than smarts to have judgement and perception.

      • Posted By: fccFH @ 10/10/2008 3:02:16 PM

Why am I not surprised by that comment from you? I get you now- you clearly are not that smart, and you know it, otherwise you would not have made that comment. So like many women you side with Sarah Palin. You think highly of yourself, and a victory for the socially lacking, poorly educated, and laughable Sarah would be a victory for you. I highly question your perception, but now have no doubts on your smarts. I guess we have discovered the real fool. But maybe I am wrong (something you have never been able to admit) since I am always so narrow-minded and unable to be objective- at least according to you (despite the fact that I have asked you, and many others, to please explain to me your defense of this woman, and none of you have, despite trashing me for my own position), I am going to challenge you. I ask you once again, since you find my candor so deplorable, and you hate me so much, prove me wrong, I am very open to being wrong. I just want you to explain to me, why and how she is capable of doing this job. How will she fix our economy (what does she know about economics and how the financial system works), how will she fix our health care system, how will she address social security and our failing education system, how would she address the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. And do not respond with attacks on Obama or Biden- focus on what makes her the right candidate- focus on what make McCain better- you have never done this. You want me to stop being so obnoxious, then I want someone like you, someone who is blindly following this woman for no apparent reason to talk me down, and explain what she brings to the table. Otherwise, I am going to have to stand by the fool remark.

He's not as transparent as Palin. He's really kind of sorrowful. Sorry, Palin hides every thing from investigation correspondences to email.

As Obama has said in the recent past......

Sweetie, I'll get to you in a minute.

Sure, I guess you can relate to that better then Gov Palin.

      • Posted By: AskPlus @ 10/10/2008 1:19:03 PM

Mr. Mo-nay coming in for a quick in-and-out distortion. Well, I guess sweetie is better than: Darling we can secede from the horrid US in a minute. Way to go Mr. Sportslock09. You're right on point as usual. Call anyone the N-word lately? How about terrorist? Threaten any handicapped people lately?
