I voted for Reagan, twice. Then, I bought a Pete Seeger album at a thrift shop (Dangerous Songs.) I've been a Union Organizer ever since. "Mrs. Clara Sullivan's Letter" drove it home for me. Learned to play guitar and write songs, too. Thank you, Pete (and Lee, and Woody, and Tom, and Arlo, et al...)

I can not imagine growing up in the 60's and not having Pete Seeger to lead us in song. His music was inspirational, he had something to say and it he said it well. His concerts had us laugh, had us cry, had us think about issues we did not even realize were issues. When he got us to sing in 3 and 4 part harmony the sounds were uplifting and most important we were in harmony . Maybe our voices were not all they could have been but we all were pulling in the same direction, any time we can ALL pull together there is very little we can't do.

What we need today in this time of financial chaos is someone like Pete who maybe can not solve the problems we face but who can bring us together, slow us all down , get us all gathered together and head us ALL in the same direction.
