The only thing I believe in polls is that its controlled by the media and they make sure Obama has a big lead, the real polls that matter is on November 4th. The polls have always been controlled by the media, it's lopsided because its mostly democrats taking the polls. Simple as that. I wouldn't vote for Obama if someone gave me a million dollars, when he gets in terrorist will have a field day on America, ENJOY IT!!

Well, I beg to differ on your last comment - if McCain-Palin w in the White House, it is a national security threat. It will signal to the rest of the world that we've elected another loser (no offense to McCain personally, but he's part of the GOP party that has inadvertantly caused us this huge economic meltdown), and that the loser has an inadequate, ignorant (no offense to Palin personally, but she is remarkably under-prepared to live and work in DC, much less the White House) VP.

It will signal to our enemies to come out and bomb, bomb, bomb...well, you know the song that McCain sang jokingly, which was repeated all around the world....

The world likes Obama-Biden much better, and has more confidence in this team as leaders of one of the world's powers. Mr. McCain, bless his heart (as we say in Texas, ad nauseum), is seen as a tad too old and not quite as intellectually astute as Obama, but many people also do respect him nonetheless and wish him well.

How can you honestly say that the GOP is the cause of this economic crisis? The sole cause of this crisis is that people continue to live above their means and purchase homes that they know that they cannot afford. They continue to borrow money on credit cards and open equity lines. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that the *** would soon hit the fan! The Republicans are not responsible for this! Most republicans that I know are very conservative with their money as well as their beliefs. The blame should be placed with the people who continue to place themselves in these situations.

        • Posted By: electriceel883 @ 10/11/2008 3:56:28 AM

Sure, people should take personal responsibility for their actions...it's the corporations that don't take responsibility for their actions, from exec with inflated salaries and bonuses, risk-taking strategies as ignorant as anybody with a sheaf of credit cards, and who can always count on the current group in Washington for corporate welfare in a big way. The question shouldn't be, who is at fault, it should be what are we going to do about it now? Help people, not executives!

        • Posted By: notroubleatall1963 @ 10/10/2008 10:34:07 PM

No, the sole cause of this economy is the Bush Administration's policy to give everyone huge tax breaks and start two wars overseas. It's called bad fiscal management. He is a moron. The GOP is also lacking in basic intelligence as they could only muster Sarah Palin as the VP candidate to run with McSame, both relatively lame. But for that I thank the GOP. This country owes them a heartfelt thanks. Because nominating two very weak candidates assures Obama-Biden's win, or virtually.

Yes, its bad management. You don't spend spend spend by growing the Government tenfold (wth two wars) and then add to the deficit with several major tax breaks. Also, the Adminsration was very lax in collecting the Corporate Taxes - almost all the big and medium corporations have had a 10-year tax holiday since the GOP has been in control. Don't believe me? Google it.

    • Posted By: t1455lj @ 10/10/2008 9:52:13 PM

You may need less than that to get your but out of this economic situation that republicans have got us in to. You must live in a TRAILER PARK!

It's no surprise Obama is pulling awa, sinse the polls are controlled by the media and certain groups, and the polls are lopsided because mostly democrats are taking the polls. I don't much in polls, the only polls that matters is the one on November 4th, These other polls are "Fixed". I wouldn't vote for Obama if someone gave me a million dollars, don't trust him. He'sa terrorist lover, the terrorist are just using him to get an easier attack on America. If Obama gets in terrorist will have a field day on America, so go ahead and vote for Obama, America needs a little excitement. I'll just sit back and say; I told you so!!

    • Posted By: notroubleatall1963 @ 10/10/2008 9:46:04 PM

Gosh, do you SERIOUSLY think the FBI and the CIA would not have already vetted our US Presidential candidates pretty thoroughly by now? A "terrorist" threat? Obama? Come on, just because he's a little unconventional doesn't mean he's not actually pretty savvy and smart. Don't underestimate your Government's Intelligence.

      • Posted By: Alex's Mommy @ 10/10/2008 10:03:23 PM

Very good point. Except, you'd have to be a thinking person to really understand it. The racists who write this stupid crap are incapable of understanding anything but hate. They don't even get it that their own party sells them down the river every time. Your job went to China? Too bad, you're on your own...it's that black person's fault. What a crock!! Wake up.

        • Posted By: electriceel883 @ 10/11/2008 3:48:49 AM

True, most GOP voters (& catholics who are pro-life) are used for their vote, and then sold down the river. It's very infrequently that the GOP they elect actually do something about about their concerns and issues.Let's be real, the main thing for politicians (across all party lines) is getting elected!

    • Posted By: LudwigVanBeet @ 10/10/2008 9:46:05 PM

Ginny A52; I realize that reality is hard for most Repig's , but the Fox News Poll also show Obama up by 9 in the poll that they usually lie about.

  • Posted By: SamMaks @ 10/10/2008 9:45:48 PM

Obama might have a double digit lead, McCain is not worthy to be the Winner , Palin is messed up and stupid...but all this does not change the fact that some white people cannot digest the idea of Obama, a black person being the president. It may eventually be such people that create problems for Obama and his win in this election. In the end it will be ' race ' that will the deciding factor in this election.

    • Posted By: notroubleatall1963 @ 10/10/2008 9:51:51 PM

Well, I sure hope you're wrong - I like to think Obama is so intelligent that it hardly matters what he looks like. But I see your point. Best not to get all our hopes up too high, there are still plenty of opportunities for defeat and disappointment with the polling machines, etc. But I remain optimistic because I do think the number of intelligent people might just outnumber the unintelligent (not that all GOP voters are in the latter category, but it does rather defy logic that anyone would seriously vote for the GOP this year)....

      • Posted By: electriceel883 @ 10/11/2008 3:43:19 AM

Sure, Diebold still makes their voting machines far below any minimum security standards, without reasonable auditing, no paper trail, security holes, and software bugs. Ken Blackwell, OH secretary of state, (and diebold shareholder) blocked a ban on the use of their voting machines in Ohio (obviously a state very much in the minds of the governing party). Fortunately, there are far too many states in play for two states (Florida & Ohio) to be such a big deal this year

  • Posted By: quechalk @ 10/11/2008 12:27:29 AM

So Osama--oops--I mean Obama--will win the election not because he knows anything, but because he's NOT a Republican. What an impressive line to add to his hollow resume!

Wait a minute, read the polling data. 38% of the respondents were Democrats, only 25% were Republicans. Should it be surprising with that spread that Obama would show an 11 point lead? If this isn't manufacturing poll results, I don't know what is.

    • Posted By: the-commish @ 10/11/2008 3:33:42 AM

40% of the electorate is Dem, 30% Rep, and 30% indep. Poll results, despite your desperate attempt to skew them, are probably pretty accurate.

    • Posted By: neos @ 10/10/2008 11:08:41 PM

That's why they do weighting. Look it up.

  • Posted By: burbank @ 10/11/2008 1:06:40 AM

The two most important categories in which Obama lacks depth are the two which are the most important to the country-national security and terrorism. The economy is important, so are jobs, gas prices, taxes, and the rest of the domestic milieu. However, the senator's domestic agenda will all be for naught if, through his weakness he neglects national security and we suffer another attack. The economy was realtively stable when we were hit on 9/11. Not so today, and the financial resources that we would need to rebuild after another attack would severely hamper our domestic recovery. Add to that the fact that we would demand a response to such an attack, because to do nothing would be showing weakness and that is what got us into this whole mess to begin with. The domestic agenda is important. But without a strong position on national security and terrorism and the willingness to use force when necessary, the domestic agenda you wish to implement will be nothing more than castles made of sand.

    • Posted By: benkrapf @ 10/11/2008 2:28:25 AM

How is Obama unwilling to use force? He's stated repeatedly, matter-of-factly that he would violate Pakistani airspace to bomb bin Laden to oblivion if we had a fix on him and the Pakistanis were being uncooperative.

In my entire life, I have never seen such terrible personal attacks as those on Senator Obama by these so called Christians. Wow! Here is a man who came from a meager existence from an imigrant father, studied hard, earned scholarships, worked as a community organizer, attended Harvard, worked hard in school ans was chsoen to be President of the Harvard Law Review. He has been a Constitutional Law Professor and a top notch University. He served 7 years in the Illinois Senate and 4 years in the US Senate. In spite of race he has accomplished miracles in his life. He literally embodies the American Dream. Is represents what is good about America. I have never seen such viciousness in my life and from people that call themselves the religious riight. There is nothing right about you and you all should be ashamed of yourselves.

When Obama was ten he returned to Hawaii under the care of his grandparents, and later his mother, for the better educational opportunities. He was enrolled in the fifth grade at Punahou School, a prestigious academy that once taught the Hawaiian royal family. He graduated with honors. The man, by his own admission, attended a private college prep school. He is not a child of public education and he had an advantage that MANY in this nation do not. Grandparents who were able to help him get a better education. There is nothing wrong with getting assitance, but DO NOT make him out to be someone who is self made and pulled himself up. What I would like to know is: who paid for his expensive college education and extensive travel? I cannot find a RELIABLE answer to that anywhere.

      • Posted By: notroubleatall1963 @ 10/10/2008 10:38:29 PM

OMG, you are so nutty. Obama's mama was on food stamps at one time and yes, O. made the best of every opportunity and advantage he ever did get. I imagine his dad or her second hubby scraped up enough dough to get his mom and him to Indonesia... Beyond that, he pretty much was on his own and applied for scholarships and grants. It's quite possible to do. DUH.

Wise VL..google a little, use your fingers and you will find he and Michelle went through college on student loans like a lot of people do. I am a Republican and a Christian with a political science background, who is tired of all the hate and the only one who incites hate is satan and not Christ. Sarah Palins fruits are not of the Jesus I love. I am voting for Obama and I even worked for the Navy, AF, Army etal and guess what unlike Obama I was not born in this country. I swore I would give my life for this country even so I was not born here. Obama was born in the US and my passport says USA on it but in your bigoted eyes I must not be worthy to serve this country and must be suspect....I met a lot of you along my Christian walk and all I can do is pray ..... In my book hate only comes from one side and it is definely not God ...and they wanted Obamas head on a platter...Read the bible and it should remind you that is what some spolied nasty evil woman wanted that in the bible too, Apostle Johns head on a platter and she got it...but Gov. Palin will not harm this man who has a least class, christianity, a brain, got saved in his youth. He actually worked to make a difference in his environment not by shooting moose, abusing his power and inciting other to hate but by working in the projects. And by the way Ayers was appointed to the board he and Obama served on by a Republican Organization.....blame them for they put Ayers on the same boad as Obama..educate yourself as I did....I am no longer believing hateful lies and I do pray daily... love my neighbors and mingle with them and do not ask for their credentials or pedigree since I am a real Christian...and if one is a ex convict that does not make me an ex-convict I insteadingled with them in the prisons were I visited and I went to preach......I am white and went into all black neighborhoods to make a difference too.....and it is all worth it...

You really ought to consider changing your name...wise, you are not. What kind of idiotic questions are you asking? Grandparents help grandchildren in this country EVERY DAY! So, he's not supposed to get any help from his Grandparents? Do people like you really think about the dribble that you write?

Its so interesting to me that you would ask HOW this man was educated. Almost anyone who reads knows that he financed a great deal of this education through student loans.

How about looking at the fact that palin was on the SIX YEAR, FIVE COLLEGE plan? Come on.

I think the subject of race in this discussion is pretty clear. We have never had a black president. Many people in this country are still racist or lack trust for any kind of minority. The black code words used by McCain surogates are many and frequent. Racism is still alive in this country, and Barack has risen above the fray inspite of that racism. Wake up!

I second that - though I myself am Christian, I do not align myself with FAKE CHRISTIANS, aka White Trash, masquerading as super-patriots. The country, indeed the entire WORLD, is sick to death of this element getting so much sway in America. And look where it's taken us - the ignorant have voted twice for the GOP candidate, Bush Jr., and we now have the global impact to live with for the coming years.

I don't actually believe all Republicans are "white trash" -- I'm just registering my anger (in a silly way, admittedly) against these bigots who still think Obama is "Arab" and "Muslim" no matter how many times they're told otherwise.

I would say applaud if he hadn't sent Palin out to do the dirty work first and then Cindy McCain jumped on that creepy bandwagon, too. Sorry, but I can't seem to look at her. Here McCain is courting the religious right and then he suggests to Cindy that she show her bare chest off in a contest. Add in the name he called her in public that rhymes with punt. What a guy.

Senator McCain has made a series of poor choices over the past month and a half. He is now stuck with a running mate who is not qualified regardless of the troopergate and other issues for her. He has taken the campaign where the Bush/Rove group wanted it to go. We cannot afford it. I used to have a great deal of respect for Senator McCain but I have lost it. That is not something to celebrate but rather something to mourn. Barack Obama will have my vote. McCain lost me when he picked Governor Palin. I live in Juneau and the rest of the country still doesn't have the full picture yet but they are getting it slowly. It's sad.

      • Posted By: Nonpartay @ 10/11/2008 2:27:55 AM

If you had ever read Obama's books, you'd realize he has much more experience than you think. It's one of the right-wing lies that he has no experience. He does have a doctorate in law from Harvard and graduated at the top of his class, as opposed to McCain who graduated from the Naval Academy at the bottom. And he was president of the Harvard Law Review, which involved working with all kinds of people both conservative and liberal. Just on that one basis, it makes him more qualified. He also has a degree in International Relations/Political Science. Very handy for a President to have. He also was a civil rights attorney and taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago, a VERY presigious institution. He was 8 years in the state senate of Illinois and 4 years in the US Senate. In both legislatures, he passed significant legislation. Most of all, he has the steadiness, common sense, and good humor to be able to deal with whatever comes his way. He never loses his temper like McCain is famous for, he is not a compulsive gambler, like McCain is, he has a brilliant mind and is able to draw out the best in the people he surrounds himself with. He also has good judgment about who he does surround himself with, contrary to the lies the right likes to tell, and we will be in GREAT hands when he is President!

If that wasfigure was true, which it isn't anymore -would that mean that you would agree with our selection of Senator Ted Stevens currently on trial and has been picking the rest of the country's pocket for years, Congressman Don Young under investigation by the FBI for bribes (spent $1 million in campaign funds so far on lawyers). Don't forget our other Senator (Murkowski) who was appointed to the post by her father and then we re-elected her. Would you like to discuss the three legislators already convicted by the feds for bribes? There are more coming. The disappointing thing is Palin hasn't tackled any of that stuff - instead the Bush Justice Department has done it - so you know it's bad. I think citin g the judgement of the Alaska electorate as source of wisdom is a little dangerous to the strength of your position.

McCain is on a downward spiral, finally, and hopefully he won't be able to lie his way back to the top. More voters are becoming aware of "that one" and appreciating the unique qualities that Obama will bring to the White House when he becomes POTUS. He will be facing incredible never-imagined challenges: America is broke, we are not safer, the strain and drain of our Armed Forces is appalling, and our citizens are facing home foreclosures, job losses, and health care is beyond their reach. What a depressing burden this has become for those whodon't have the luxury of a sizeable bank account to tide them over. The Republicans took our government for the people and replaced it with their "for the "wealthy" people and their corporations. Our votes are all we have left, and now is the time when "for the people" should count more than "for the party". I continue to hope that more and more McCain diehards will dare to care about the sacrifices and change, and vote for "that one", whose name is Barack Obama. God Bless America.

If this thing is over and is going to be a landslide for Obama, then 1) Why the outrage on the left over "attacks" on Obama? 2) Why is it necessary to "cheat" with ACORN and others with fraudulent voter registrations? 3) Why is the MSM even posing the possibility that Obama could still lose and that if he does it will be because of racist whites?
Thank you for your joke of a poll. I'll stick with Zogby and other more historically accurate pollsters that don't have an agenda!

ACORN does not condone or promote fraud. It seeks to register voters. What's so bad about that? Please don't believe the lies they tell you. It's really pretty awful the way so many people fall for this stuff hook, line, and sinker.

Now there is not much information on this first time senator except what one can see from afar, as he does not really have many close allies except for his mentor and spiritual leader from a radical church, and some shady friends commiting fraud and terrorism. With this information. MY THOUGHT IS, NO ONE IN AMERICA WOULD VOTE FOR THIS FIRST TIME SENATOR, MUCH LESS THINK HE COULD BE PRESIDENT.

you are wrong, I and millions of other Americans are voting Obama in for president, see we are a litlle more educated to know what kind of a young man he is,and don't go for an old man who will run this country in more problems like hie body Bush already did.

Even Mccain said, today that Obama is a good trustworth, family man. Are you going to argue with your leader or said he was coersted into saying those thing! Probably, you will simply go on as if nothing happened and call Obama terrorist and just go with the rest of the party line. For once, finally ,today McCain told the truth, found his dignity and we saw a glimpse if what WAS John McCain .. Perhaps you will say that he is only being told what to say. That would imply that he is not his own. man The train is falling off the rails mighty quickly. He's backed himself into a corner where he had to speak up before the crowds, at his rallys, yelled and chanted themselves into a hate filled chant, Much like Hitler did. He may have reclaimed a part of his soul. Not much and a little late. The presidency is not owed to him. He must earn it-WITH RESPECT!

Sorry Chris, McCain has just switched his tactics, thats all. He's distancing himself from the ugly rallies where Palin was tossing out labels like "terrorist." She got found guility of abusing her power today, could be censured-it's up to the Legislature of Alaska. I hope she is. She enjoyed drawing blood too much. Thought she could give Cheney lessons. McCain's anger will return-his body language never hides it. He believes he deserves the Presidency and it is his mission. We literally can't afford him-his Iraq war is costing $12 billion a month. He says win-stay a hundred years. I would love to hear the Vets weigh in on that. The only Veteran I knew was my father. As a kid I asked him if we won WWII. I never forgot what he said. "In war, no one ever wins." So, suck it up McCain, let go of the Irag fixation, let the Iraqi army take over. We need to support our forces in Afghanistan-they are begging for help. Write your Congressman-we have to stop the insanity. Go Obama/Biden-vote early!!!

Poor old McCain is being held hostage by the right-wing nutjob faction of his party. They don't listen to him. They tolerate him because he picked the She-Bush.

What does Bill Clinton have to do w/ this article?? But since you mentioned him.......how is it that a president who lied about a blow job gets an impeachment trial while our current president lied about WMDs in order to pre-emptively strike IRAQ and start a war (killing > 4000 GIs and many many more Iraqis - many innocent), and no on bothers to give him an impeachment trial??????? Quite the double standard the GOP creates for itself.

The voters need to do their homework before they cast their vote on this election. Please take a look at this article from the Europe News: http://europenews.dk/en/node/14749
This is VERY interesting after seeing this Louis Farrakhan video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OowxMcVTjTE
