    Dear Red States:
We've decided we're leaving. We intend to form our own country, and
we're taking the other Blue States with us. In case you aren't aware,
that includes California, Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, Minnesota,
Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois and all the Northeast. We believe
this split will be beneficial to the nation, and especially to the
people of the new country of New California.
To sum up briefly: You get Texas, Oklahoma and all the slave
states. We get stem cell research and the best beaches. We get the
Statue of Liberty. You get Dollywood. We get Intel and Microsoft. You
get WorldCom. We get Harvard. You get Ole' Miss. We get 85 percent of
America's venture capital and entrepreneurs. You get Alabama. We
get two-thirds of the tax revenue, you get to make the red states pay
    their fair share.
Since our aggregate divorce rate is 22 percent lower than the
Christian Coalition's, we get a bunch of happy families. You get a
bunch of single moms. Please be aware that Nuevo California will be
pro-choice and anti-war, and we're going to want all our citizens
back from Iraq at once. If you need people to fight, ask your
evangelicals. They have kids they're apparently willing to send to
their deaths for no purpose, and they don't care if you don't show
pictures of their children's caskets coming home. We do wish you
success in Iraq , and hope that the WMDs turn up, but we're not
willing to spend our resources in Bush's Quagmire.
With the Blue States in hand, we will have firm control of 80 percent
of the country's fresh water, more than 90 percent of the pineapple
and lettuce, 92 percent of the nation's fresh fruit, 95 percent of
America's quality wines (you can serve French wines at state dinners)
90 percent of all cheese, 90 percent of the high tech industry, most
of the U.S. low-sulfur coal, all living redwoods, sequoias and
condors, all the Ivy and Seven Sister schools plus Stanford, Cal
Tech and MIT. With the Red States, on the other hand, you will have to
cope with 88 percent of all obese Americans (and their projected
health care costs), 92 percent of all U.S. mosquitoes, nearly 100
percent of the tornadoes, 90 percent of the hurricanes, 99 percent
of all Southern Baptists, virtually 100 percent of all
televangelists, Rush Limbaugh, Bob Jones University, Clemson and the
University of Georgia. We get Hollywood and Yosemite, thank you.
Additionally, 38 percent of those in the Red states believe Jonah was
actually swallowed by a whale, 62 percent believe life is sacred
unless we're discussing the death penalty or gun laws, 44 percent
say that evolution is only a theory, 53 percent that Saddam was
involved in 9/11 and 61 percent of you crazy bastards believe you
are people with higher morals then we lefties.
Finally, we're taking the good pot, too. You can have that dirt weed
    they grow in Mexico
    Peace out,

McCain is a [Acorn Man] and other Republicans too !!!

40% of Acorn's Registered Voters have been [Republicans]

        Hahahaha !!

On Monday, the Democratic-leaning group ACORN, which has been painted as a criminal enterprise by the GOP for its voter registration and housing policy efforts, pushed back against its critics by producing a photo of John McCain attending its March 2006 rally.

It was a reminder that, for all their electoral histrionics, Republicans have aligned themselves with ACORN in the past.

Indeed, in addition to the McCain photo, there is a host of examples of prominent McCain surrogates attending ACORN events, signing ACORN legislation, or complimenting the group's efforts.

Florida Gov. Charlie Crist, for example, partnered with ACORN in March 2008 for a "Homeownership Promotes The Economy" taskforce. More recently, Crist declared that -- contrary to GOP outrage -- he was not upset with the group's voter registration efforts in his state. The New York Times reported that ACORN supported a law signed by Governor Crist, which "changed the rules last year to restore the voting rights of about 112,000 former convicts."

In July 2005, meanwhile, another Republican governor, Rick Perry of Texas, signed ACORN's Lending Law Reform Bill that changed the state's homelending practices.

In July 2008, California Governor and McCain supporter Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a bill that ACORN helped draft aimed at California homeowners facing foreclosure.

In June 2007, Minnesota Governor and McCain VP short-lister Tim Pawlenty signed a similar bill -- drafted by ACORN -- that helped homeowners get fairer deals on their mortgages.

"The legislation was drafted according to recommendations made by a predatory lending study group established by Swanson prior to the legislative session," wrote the Northwestern Financial Review. "The study group contained representatives from the banking industry and the mortgage brokers association, as well as consumer advocates from organizations such as Illegal Aid and ACORN."

As Governor of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney signed an anti-predatory lending bill that ACORN supported. In February 2006, Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman met with the ACORN Katrina Survivors Association. And back in July 2005, New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg actually got a kiss from ACORN's state leader, according to the publication City Limits, during an announcement that the city would protect or create 65,000 affordable units in a new housing proposal. Bloomberg, it should be noted, has not endorsed a candidate.

Did you enjoy putting your foot in your mouth?

40 percent registered are republicans? And your point? Of course they have to register republicans.... if they didn't they would be completely shut down for being 100 percent in the tank for Obama.

And you don't see them out registering the Dallas Cowboys as republicans in Nevada, do you?

          Laugh that off......

I loved McCain and would have voted for him in 2000 if he had won the repub primary. I probably still would have voted for him now if Hillary had won the democratic primary- nothing against Hillary- but that other McCain from 2000 was so impressive. From the first time I saw Obama in 2004, he made me feel like there's hope for this country- real intelligent hope based on truth and not Fox News spinning things to seem wonderful- but hope for real progress for all our people rich and poor alike. Hope that we can once again lead the world -biggest superpower, most influential, strongest, best human rights, inventiveness, education etc. The last 8 years have been so slanted to the few in power- and McCain is one of the few. He's been in power- he failed- supporting Bush the majority of time in his wrong headed policies. Now it's time to move out of the way and let the guy who's inspiring millions take over. And Obama will not destroy the other side to get in or stay in power. Notice last nights debate- he said nothing negative about Palin who's been attacking Obama at every opportunity. Gracious- yes- adult- definitely, but there's something more. Obama is a healer- a true uniter, someone that will find something in each of us that he likes and use that to unite. Please give him a chance. Not attacking Palin last night (and you betcha it would have been easy) said more than millions of dollars worth of attack ad's, or millions of mentions of Wright or Ayres.

Who would step in as the VP if Palin had to take over for McCain?

  • Posted By: Ryder @ 10/16/2008 2:44:50 PM

One thing I do take comfort in, is the fact that the media is putting its own spin on the election. They are biased. The polls they have do not share the opinon of your average legal age voters. They claim these polls operate within a small margin of error usually 3.5 to 4.5%. Where do they poll the people? Who do they poll? Who are the pollsters? Maybe the pollsters are people with grudges against the Republican party or McCain. I experienced this first hand an Obama campaigner came to my door and asked who I was voting for last week, I told her McCain. As she walked away, I saw over her shoulder as she marked my slot under Obama; and when I confronted her about it, she said she was not authorized to show me the results of her poll. I was not allowed to see where she said that I voted. I guess we will just have to see how many people vote their convictions on election day. And how many people stay home, because they believed the news media's spin and felt as though their time would be wasted by voting. If you don't make a stand, you will fall for anything.

  • Posted By: Ryder @ 10/16/2008 2:26:43 PM

Another reason to vote AGAINST Obama, look at the polls of other countries Specifically the ones that would do America harm. They want Obama in the office because they too believe that he would weaken the American military. He wants to pull out our service personnel from Iraq, but then he wants to attack Pakistan, he says he's against reviving the draft, but in the same breath he is supporting a move to make it mandatory for our young women between 18 and 25 to register with the Selective Service (if the draft was revived, this is where they will pull the names). Furthermore he supports an action that would use more of our female soldiers in the combat lines. It's bad enough that he supports the murdering of the unborn. If he gets into office, it may very well turn out that soon we will not have enough youth to carry on the American way of life because over 4,500 babies are being aborted in the USA on a daily basis. And what about the 4,000 plus troops that we've lost to the war in Iraq, or better called the war to spread freedom to an otherwise oppressed people. Our 4,000+ soldier's lives will have been ended in vain, if our troops are pulled out before our mission is finalized. Not to forget that Obama also voted against fundings for our troops, defensive funding that would keep our soldiers safe. And what is he going to do for our veterans? Our disabled? Those on social security? Senator McCain may be older than Obama, but at least he knows what is going on. He has suffered thru it, he has been to war, been a prisoner of war, and has spent more time in the senate than Obama. McCain knows what the veterans need, he knows what the elderly, and the disabled need. His running mate Palin knows what the youth need. What has Biden done? Does Biden know the pains of raising a disabled child? I think not. Although I guess my words will fall on deaf ears or blind eyes, because our country is at the threshold of becoming a morally decrepit nation. One that allows people to murder the unborn because two people couldn't keep their pants on. There is no sanctity in human life anymore. Whether you believe in God or not, human life is the most precious thing we have, and people that have abortion with the exception of rape, or incest, they are basically throwing away life. It is my belief that those who participate in the death of the unborn will have to account for that one day. GOD help us, because we can't seem to understand down here.

Obama's view of the future of America - Socialism which is the next step to Communism!!

Under socialism a ruling class of intellectuals, bureaucrats and social planners decide what people want or what is good for society and then use the coercive power of the State to regulate, tax, and redistribute the wealth of those who work for a living. In other words, socialism is a form of legalized theft.

The morality of socialism can be summed-up in two words: envy and self-sacrifice. Envy is the desire to not only possess another's wealth but also the desire to see another's wealth lowered to the level of one's own. Socialism's teaching on self-sacrifice was nicely summarized by two of its greatest defenders, Hermann Goering and Bennito Mussolini. The highest principle of Nazism (National Socialism), said Goering, is: "Common good comes before private good." Fascism, said
Mussolini, is "a life in which the individual, through the sacrifice of his own private interests??realizes that completely spiritual existence in which his value as a man lies."

Socialism is the social system which institutionalizes envy and self-sacrifice: It is the social system which uses compulsion and the organized violence of the State to expropriate wealth from the producer class for its redistribution to the parasitical class.

Despite the intellectuals' psychotic hatred of capitalism, it is the only moral and just social system.

Capitalism is the only moral system because it requires human beings to deal with one another as traders--that is, as free moral agents trading and selling goods and services on the basis of mutual consent.

Capitalism is the only just system because the sole criterion that determines the value of thing exchanged is the free, voluntary, universal judgement of the consumer. Coercion and fraud are anathema to the free-market system.

It is both moral and just because the degree to which man rises or falls in society is determined by the degree to which he uses his mind. Capitalism is the only social system that rewards merit, ability and achievement, regardless of one's birth or station in life.

    Yes, there are winners and losers in capitalism. The winners are those who are honest, industrious, thoughtful, prudent, frugal, responsible, disciplined, and efficient. The losers are those who are shiftless, lazy, imprudent, extravagant, negligent, impractical, and inefficient. [What about the role of luckbeing in the right place at the right time or the wrong place at the wrong time? R. R. Pope}

Capitalism is the only social system that rewards virtue and punishes vice. This applies to both the business executive and the carpenter, the lawyer and the factory worker.

Whether McCain won or lost tonight is not relevant. He succeeded in the first half hour to plant the seeds of a Reagan style wipeout. Reputable historians and economists overwhelmingly agree that the taxation imposed by and the ???stimulus??? spending and public works programs of FDR actually deepened and prolonged the Great Depression. It was the production demands of WWII that got the economy going again. And when the war was over, the economy promptly went into recession.

Point is, Obama's programs are tax and spend, and it does not really matter who he taxes, those taxes are going to be passed through the economy. Any first year economics student knows that taxation is a tool used to contract an economy experiencing inflation, because it reduces demand by reducing the amount of money individuals and businesses have to spend. It is contractionary, which is exactly what you do not want to do when the problem is that the economy is contracting already into recession. Like FDR, Obama's plans will only make it worse for longer.

Obama's tax and spending plans alone would be bad enough, but add Wright and Pelosi to the mix, with the three of them controlling both houses of Congress and the executive without and effective restraint, and you have something that should be something that causes concern even among moderate Democrats. Don't think so? Watch and listen to a C-SPAN video clip of the Congressional hearings at roughly the time McCain's attempt at S.190. to fix fannie and freddie.

Harold L. Cole and Lee E. Ohanian argue that the "New Deal labor and industrial policies did not lift the economy out of the Depression as President Roosevelt and his economic planners had hoped," but that the "New Deal policies are an important contributing factor to the persistence of the Great Depression." They claim that the New Deal "cartelization policies are a key factor behind the weak recovery." They say that the "abandonment of these policies coincided with the strong economic recovery of the 1940s." Cole and Ohanian claimed that FDR's policies prolonged the Depression by 7 years.

Lowell E. Gallaway and Richard K. Vedder argue that the "Great Depression was very significantly prolonged in both its duration and its magnitude by the impact of New Deal programs." They suggest that without Social Security, work relief, unemployment insurance, mandatory minimum wages, and without special government-granted privileges for labor unions, business would have hired more workers and the unemployment rate during the New Deal years would have been 6.7% instead of 17.2%.

As an example, during the depression there were extreme food shortages and widespread famine. To solve this, the government enacted legislation in the form of the Agricultural Adjustment Act of 1933. This sought to increase the prices of food, to benefit farmers, by reducing supply. It did this by destroying over 10 million acres of crops, slaughtering 6 million pigs, and leaving fruit in the fields to rot. The result was even more widespread famine.
