      Sam10, you must have missed a really important day in school...the one where the teacher demonstrated the use of a book called a dictionary. Socialist would be the taxpayers bailing out individual mortgages (McCain's radical idea). Apparently, you missed math class too, or you'd be able to run the numbers on McCain's health care plan. The one where you spend $10,000 to $15,000 per year and get a paltry $5000 tax credit. They really count on you people to be stupid. You must feel really good about living down to their expectations.

      At this depressed time in our country, if given a choice to give aid to under-developed countries vs re-establishing the well-being of Americans, I choose the latter. Who do you think will pay for such support? You got it, the American taxpayers who now are losing a great portion of their hard-earned savings due to the inept fiscal policies of the current administration and the party which it represents who have blindly supported its policies for too long.
      It's time for a change, and the robotic Republican candidate and his sophomoric running mate are not the answer.
      Don't be afraid. Under our current "leadership", our country has lost respect and support from our traditional allies. We are hated because the powers that be fabricate threats. I do not want to ruled by imagined fear-mongers.
      I am proud of my country and what it used to stand for - a land of the people, by the people, and for the people. Somewhere along the line, the people have been kicked to the curb in favor of the corporations who rape the people daily. I want my country to re-establish our standard as a place of opportunity and fairness and integrity and a model for other countries to follow.
      Again, don't be afraid.
      By the way, the United States has been an importing nation for some time now. Re-establish our supremacy in manufacturing and eliminate dependence on other nations for a variety of goods and services, then we can think about helping others.
      Make your wish a reality. Support Mr. Obama.
      How can Mr. McCain offer that promise that you seek when he states that he would suspend all spending except for defense and veterans' benefits? When has he outlined a plan to get our citizens on a path to recovery? Let me answer that for you. Never "My friend".
      Don't be afraid.
      Don't be blinded by the smoke. That's all McCain has left (Oh yeah, and his Hockey Mom). WAKE UP!!!!

    If Obama wins you can bet after four years he still will be blaming George Bush, it took Ronald Reagan about six months to fix Jimmy Carters mess. Can Obama do the same? No because he and the do nothing Democrat Congress can only blame George Bush. Like little kids all you can and will hear is: "Not me, it was George Bush!" How very sad for this great country.

    And FINALLY, someone in my Houston-area neighborhood has placed a huge OBAMA-BIDEN sign prominently in their yard - it's the first political sign on my block. I've seen very few signs out here in the 'burbs but those I have seen were all for McCain.

    I'm so happy because I know there are others in my area who are keen to get out and vote for Obama - some are Republican cross-overs, some are not usually voting, and some are just younger and first-timers. It's so cool that there is so much simmering enthusiasm, however muted, because it translates into power at the polls!

    GOBAMA 2008! And Biden too!

        Huh? What's your point? I've been wearing an Obama t-shirt for months, everywhere I go, and getting lots of funny looks. harharharhar.... I was also against Bush 8 years ago, saying he'd be terrible for the economy, but nobody listened. Twice.

    I dont think McCain is at fault here though. He's the victim of the GOP's creation. The party is no longer about small government, economic conservativism, or defense; it has become a hodgepodge of wedge issue voters. Having Sarah Palin rile up the extremists was a poor move, but i lay that at the feet of the campaign strategists. The main problem is the concept of "energizing the base", because it doesnt include exciting the base to the GOP candidate anymore, it means giving them something to hate. It was fine when it was "big government", "liberal policy", or "middle eastern terrorists", but we've tread into a dangerous place, because now the hate is towards a minority politician on a national scale. McCain needs to get a hold on this, and people on both sides of the beltway are saying this in a very sincere and serious way. We are only 40 years removed from a very turbulent time in the civility of our country people, dont pretend that we are beyond falling backwards; and make no mistake, that is a very bad thing for everyone, and could be dangerous. Republican or Democrat, vote on policy, not on hate.

I supose if you resent decency, integrity and moral honest values, belief in God and the belief the moral corruption today is the fruit beared from the outlaw of prayer in schools and using the the word God in the pledge of allegiance (even grade school children put there hand over their heart) is for nuts, then count me in! Better a right wing nut than a corrupt left lug nut.

      When I used to bow my head in prayer is school, it was usually asking the good Lord to help me pass the math test. But, that evil liberal teacher always thought I was sleeping in class. Go figure!

    Has anyone noticed the inverse relationship and correlation between the Barack Obama-Joe Biden campaign ticket stock going seemingly up and every stock on Wall Street going down. It is plain to see that there is a cause and effect between any seeming growing momentum behind an Obama election and the continuing recent real stock market crash. Wall Street is about future expectations six months from now and the expectations are that Barack Obama will not help our economy if he is elected. Wall Street and the world knows that an Obama election will not be good for business. A vote for John McCain will be a vote for our economic recovery. If you want to keep your job or have a future please vote John McCain.

    Get out there and vote for John McCain.

      What most have noticed is the direct relationship between the economy and the Bush administration, and by extension, the frightening possibility of a McCain presidency, who supported over 95.7% of Bush policies and legislation by virtue of his actual, verifiable votes in the Senate. It is that legislation, particularly legislation that reduced or eliminated regulation and oversight of the financial sector, that directly contributed to the mess we are in.

      What most have noticed is the direct correlation between McCain, the Presidential candidate, stating as recently as September 18, 2008 , "The fundementals of the economy are strong; our economy is just fine." He has made the identical, shockingly ignorant statement 18 times since January 2008. On December 18, 2007, and several times thereafter, including as recently as August 2008, he stated, "The issue of Economics is something I've never understood." Is THIS a person who you want to be President at this time of genuine economic crisis?! Is this someone who you think can protect your job, or your retirement account, or your future?! Conservatives and moderates in his own party, according to the most recent Newseek poll, think NO, and Independents think NO, let alone Democrats.

      His Number 2, Sarah Palin, knows even less!! Here is a Presidential candidate, in his 70's --the oldest in US History--with a history of Malignant Melanoma, backed up by a person who is astoundingly inexperienced and ignorant, whose only credentials, aside from a pretty face, are that she ran a city (Wasila) of 6400 in the middle of nowhere, and a state with a population less than most medium cities for less than 2 years. With the minor exceptions of vacations in Mexico once and Canada once, she has never even left the country! God forbid McCain were to become incapacitated or die in office, Palin would be our President!! Many influential members of McCain's own party, as well as most Independents, shiver at the thought. Does anyone with average intelligence or more, feel inspired by a possible Palin Presidency!?

      If you want to keep your job or have a future, please vote for Barack Obama/Joe Biden.

    Well, the GOP candidates opened the character issue and Palin's is reviewed today by the Alaska Legislature. McCain's character is reviewed by his military, POW, and Congressional peers in today's release:

    When he abandoned Michigan, announced he was dropping all positive ads, and launched his fear mongering populist attacks, John McCain was conceding the election. The economic crisis administered the coup-de-grace to his sputtering campaign, but it was doomed from the moment he picked Sarah Palin to be his V.P. In spite of the initial boost she provided, Palin is so obviously unqualified, ignorant and at times incoherent, that her star was going to fade rapidly no matter how well she was stage managed. As she has sunk, so has John McCain. It is sad that he goes to this defeat sewing such vitriol and bile. He used to have an enviable reputation, but men are usually remembered for their final Act, and this will be his.

    FACT: This is a fact you can check. McCain did not look at Obama in the first debate, in the second he called him"That One'. Guess What? McCains Father and Grandfather was born in and around Milford, Mississippi. Trent Lott acknowledged this. McCain no doubt heard the racial epithats so prevalent then and Now. McCain is a sick bigot, it is plain as day and night.Now all of you Goober Crowd go into your foaming at the mouth routine.
