Pulling Away

I am completely disgusted and dismayed by the smear campaign being waged against Obama. Do McCain and Palin believe that they can successfully dissuade the American voters from voting for Barack Obama by advocating hate and suspicion; by distracting us from the issues that are most important to us, such as: the economy, health care, education, energy, etc? If so, they are naive and misguided.

Hopefully, Americans everywhere are not falling for it. and will vote for the candidate who is promising a change in the right direction; the candidate who will try his utmost to provide solid leadership for this country. It's time to get the Democrats back at the helm and give them a chance to reverse all the damage done by Bush and his cronies these last 8 years.

For some reason i feel that McCain is running out of words and so is Palin. This is the nastiest campaign i have ever seen in the American history using a unexpereince vice president that claims she got her executive experience from Russia which till thi spoint cant be verified. Sarah is being used as a tool that the RNC just blow in anytime they want to poor Sarah. Sarah will feel very stupid when she finds out that McCain looses this election over Senator Obama

McCain needs to carry anger counselors ith him at all time to control his emotionally unsteady supporters, as demonstrated by the rage at the rallies. And I suspect the campaign is actively inciting anger and hatred. These people sound unreasonable and irrational.

To the conspiracy theorist who thinks Obama doesn't have a birth certificate, go to fightthesmears.com and you will see his. Don't you think the secret service would have done a background check on him a long time ago? Or are you still waiting for those black heliocopters to take over the country?

I agree on the issue of Palin being inferior to an early posters nephews, however, I reject the premise they are better qualified than McCain, who, by the way I'm not supporting. However much I disagree with McCain, he does have years of experience in the machinations of our imperfect system. I also just read that while at a rally, McCain finally called his supporters out saying that Barrack wasa a decent family man, and we have no rreason to fear him as president. That is the McCain I respected in 2000, Lets hope thatonce honorable man hhas returned, but doesn't win!!!

I remember around this time in 1992 when I first knew that Bill Clinton was going to defeat Bush I. Bush had been down in the polls and started getting desperate. In his stump speeches, he started blaming the media for his sagging poll numbers. However, I knew his fate was sealed when he went around calling Clinton and Gore "Bozo and Ozone".

Personal attacks are the last acts of a desperate candidate. McCain is thrashing around like a dying fish in a bucket. Stick a fork in him, he's done.

The McCain camp claims that their motivation behind attacking Obama has been to question is character, integrity, judgement, and leadership potential.

Well, if you examine the conduct of both candidates during the past month, there is no question about who has shown the character, integrity, judgement, and leadership potential necessary to restore our nation's standing in the world, resurrect our economic vitality, fix the broken health care system, and motivate industry to shift from fossil fuel to non-polluting, renewable energy technologies.

The GOP is in power because it is a party of deceit and their supporters are mostly a class of bigots; an easily manipulated and fickle group; religious junkies who think abortion trumps the economic pains of working class Americans no matter if the pains lead to death; businesses who care more about their profits above all else and will do everything to defend America's culture of greed; and policy hawks who think the better approach to solving America's problems abroad and protecting its interests worldwide is through preemptive measures rather than peace and diplomacy. Hypocrites and bigots in the GOP should first look at Palin's "good work" shout-out to the Alaska Independence Party (the group that hates the federal government and is cosnidered to be anti-American) and her husband's secessionist past, before they hypocritically accuse Obama of his past associations with people he absolutely has nothing to contribute to their actions (Palin is the wife of a former secessionist and a member of a group dedicated to breaking up the United States of America.
And I think continued support for Palin equals anti-Americanism and a belief that Alaska should be allowed to seceede, even though Sarah and Todd are not currently secessionists. If not, then voters should question, vigorously, Palin's past separatist activities or they'd be pure bigots and racists and Hitler wannabes for opposing Obama merely because of his race.
