Read on down to the end. Ah, there it is. Newsweek, we can always count on your polls to be "nonpartisan"! Your internals stink like old diapers. Nice try, though!

Obama will win. What will your excuse be then?
Has anyone noticed the inverse relationship and correlation between the Barack Obama-Joe Biden campaign ticket stock seemingly going up and every stock on Wall Street going down.
It is plain to see that there is a cause and effect between any seeming growing momentum behind an Obama election and the continuing recent real stock market crash.
Wall Street is about future expectations six months from now and the expectations are that Barack Obama will not help our economy if he is elected. Wall Street and the world knows that an Obama election will not be good for business.
A vote for John McCain will be a vote for our economic recovery. If you want to keep your job or have a future please vote John McCain. Get out there and vote for John McCain. Get your friends to vote for John McCain.
Vote John McCain!!!!!!!! Vote John McCain!!!!!
Learn the difference between "correlation" and "causality". Don't you think gas prices, corporate salaries, irresponsible lending, and Detroit's near-collapse have anything to do with this?
Actually, you have the realtionship backward. As the stockmarket plummets, Obama's poll numbers climb. The market is the cause -- the poll numbers are the effect. There is no way that McCain will help our economy. No one knows what to do at this point. The parameters of this worldwide financial crisis are yet to be determined, and until they are, it's pointless to even speculate on the solution for turning it around. Stop the bleeding. Keeping people in their homes. Develop ways to help them earn money (such as working on this country's crumbling infrastructure). But after that, it the potential solution for the long-term, for renewed economic growth in this country, is still out there. To revive the economy will take some innovative, out of the box, even radical thinking. Does that sound like John McCain?
I think the proposal that has the most potential is Obama's idea about investing in green industry. It gets people working. It removes our dependence on fossil fuels. And it's about future and innovation and new frontiers -- things that Americans have always excelled at when they are challenged. But I really believe that the country in which my teenage son will live, work and raise his family will be significantly different from the one that exists now. We need a president looking to the future -- not the past -- to help create that future.
So you're pretty much saying that the bankers and CEOs are greedy theives or stock owners are lazily throwing away their investments because they support Obama?
You're an idiot.
What type of outrage would be genearted throughout the voting public if Phillip Berg wins his lawsuit against Obama? Why is Obama and the DNC fighting the lawsuit? Why does Obama just not simply produce his "vault" copy of his birth certificate as requested in the lawsuit? If by some remote chance Berg does win and Obama cannot produce proof of "natural born" citezenship, what options do we have? Who would be the Democratic nominee? Biden? Hillary?

funny how obama -biden sounds a lot like Osama- Binladen ! coincidence ?
Yes.
Quite a stretch, even for a small-minded racist.

Your an idiot & a racist. Thank God most people in your country have different views.
Manoutoftime is a racist, and he and his friends are running out of time, LOL.
I am completely disgusted and dismayed by the smear campaign being waged against Obama. Do McCain and Palin believe that they can successfully dissuade the American voters from voting for Barack Obama by advocating hate and suspicion; by distracting us from the issues that are most important to us, such as: the economy, health care, education, energy, etc? If so, they are naive and misguided.
Hopefully, Americans everywhere are not falling for it. and will vote for the candidate who is promising a change in the right direction; the candidate who will try his utmost to provide solid leadership for this country. It's time to get the Democrats back at the helm and give them a chance to reverse all the damage done by Bush and his cronies these last 8 years.
If I read your list of pollsters above correctly, it would appear to me that the poll is just about worthless. It appears slanted, biased in the direction that the media seems to want to report these days. I don't know if it's because of the recent past history (pretty obvious and understandable), ot the polled are all office workers, or city folks, or where they are assembled or disassembled.
I can tell you however, that there seems to be a big oversight taking place. For not shown in the l;ist of polled are the US Military... active, retired, and veterans, from all branches past, present, and future. This unaccounted for group is especially important in this particular election, because of McCains military history, and because of Obama's NOT! This group is a vast majority in and of EVERY state of our union.
Upon my last check, military.com had their own poll going, and the votes were holding at 71 % McCain to 29% Obama. Perhaps this might be figures the general public might more favorable hear. Maybe you, Newsweek and other media, could take another look at the real feelings of this great nation.
Hmmmm, there are about 26 million vets total, all ages, representing all wars. May not even be that many any more, that figure is about ten years old. Now in a nation of 300 million how can they be a vast majority in all states? That's nonsensical. Plus this, I suspect many vets see clear through Capt. McCain. A guy that has traded on being a POW for his entire political career: certainly turns my stomach. USMC - Quang Nam Province 69 = 71.
A majority of people are veterans? Really? The ignorants are out in force tonight.
For some reason i feel that McCain is running out of words and so is Palin. This is the nastiest campaign i have ever seen in the American history using a unexpereince vice president that claims she got her executive experience from Russia which till thi spoint cant be verified. Sarah is being used as a tool that the RNC just blow in anytime they want to poor Sarah. Sarah will feel very stupid when she finds out that McCain looses this election over Senator Obama
The sample is too small, a 3.4% margin of error is too large, and it's irresponsible to represent as fact portions of the survey with error margins more than 5%.
1,212 adults equates to less than three people per congressman.
Vote Nader, especially in states that don't matter.
1. Nader's not running this year. Cynthia McKinney is the Green Party nominee. So you're not up on the race this year, really.
2. I'm a registered Green, and even I think Nader's a train wreck. If he cared about the environment at all he would have bailed in 2000.
McCain needs to carry anger counselors ith him at all time to control his emotionally unsteady supporters, as demonstrated by the rage at the rallies. And I suspect the campaign is actively inciting anger and hatred. These people sound unreasonable and irrational.
Uhh. NEWSWEAK. Thats what you said two months ago and look how that turned out. RASMUSSEN shows a shrinking Obama lead,as does ZOGBY. GALLUP shows a one-point drop. All taken together probably nothing. Obama gains points for the economy, causes uncertainty with Ayers, his backfiring ''Muslim outreach''with HAMAS supporters,ACORN [which Obama has a decades-long history with],and the slow but steady leakage [which NEWSWEAK and their AP pals are mightily ignoring],of news coming out of Chicago this morning that points to a Rezko deal with the federal AAGs office involving Obama pals[The Giannoulia Family, which I heretofore addressed in the Operation BOARD GAMES discussion], and campaign supporters, perhaps Obama himself[Chicago Sun Times Oct.10,2008].
Looks like McCain has sewn up the semi-articulate folks who don't know how to construct a paragraph. I don't think it would fit on a bumper sticker:
"Semi-articulate morons for McCain/Palin"
Heh. This is a blog ,Einstein. Not an English composition class. The point is in within the paragraph, not its structure. Careful. You do not strike me as an intelligent enough person not to have made mistakes yourself from time to time. I would be wary of placing myself on little tin pedestals labeled :
''Johnsonium''.
We now return you to our regularly scheduled programming.
The point of a blog is to communicate. If your structure is so terrible that a cogent point cannot be discerned then you have failed. You have failed, my friend.
To the conspiracy theorist who thinks Obama doesn't have a birth certificate, go to fightthesmears.com and you will see his. Don't you think the secret service would have done a background check on him a long time ago? Or are you still waiting for those black heliocopters to take over the country?
I agree on the issue of Palin being inferior to an early posters nephews, however, I reject the premise they are better qualified than McCain, who, by the way I'm not supporting. However much I disagree with McCain, he does have years of experience in the machinations of our imperfect system. I also just read that while at a rally, McCain finally called his supporters out saying that Barrack wasa a decent family man, and we have no rreason to fear him as president. That is the McCain I respected in 2000, Lets hope thatonce honorable man hhas returned, but doesn't win!!!
I remember around this time in 1992 when I first knew that Bill Clinton was going to defeat Bush I. Bush had been down in the polls and started getting desperate. In his stump speeches, he started blaming the media for his sagging poll numbers. However, I knew his fate was sealed when he went around calling Clinton and Gore "Bozo and Ozone".
Personal attacks are the last acts of a desperate candidate. McCain is thrashing around like a dying fish in a bucket. Stick a fork in him, he's done.
McCain is a lying sleazebag preying on the fear and ignorance of fools.
Oh thank You Lord!
Hip hip hooray!!!!! McCain/Palin are running a sleazy campaign with no solutions or bad solutions! They are using character asasanations, lies, and running kkk type rallies inciting violence! It seems that this is backfiring on them. They have shown a complete lack of integrity and proven they are unfit to lead this country anywhere!
News Flash: John McCain is no longer ???honorable,??? and he does not put America first. He is a desperate old man attempting to win at any price.
I sincerely agree with your comment. It's a disgrace how dishonesty over rules in this country. It's a disgrace how disonesty, hatred, racism and all of the deceptive practices are characteristics of our leaders. Do any of them have knowledge or understanding to the words of the Pledge of Allegiance? Liberty and Justice for all in this campaign has been thrown off the bridge as if a person of color has no right to run for president. This campaign has proven that racism, hatred runs like a wilkdfire in our country headed by our leaders and, equal opportunity only applies if you are not an individual of color. I hope the American people will support Senator Obama as he is a breath of fresh air of integrity and honesty, of genuine concern for all people, especially the poor, the working poor and middle class; seniors and veterans. He is neither a showman nor condescending as his opponent and his sidekick, as they are a total disgrace to this country.
The McCain camp claims that their motivation behind attacking Obama has been to question is character, integrity, judgement, and leadership potential.
Well, if you examine the conduct of both candidates during the past month, there is no question about who has shown the character, integrity, judgement, and leadership potential necessary to restore our nation's standing in the world, resurrect our economic vitality, fix the broken health care system, and motivate industry to shift from fossil fuel to non-polluting, renewable energy technologies.
Obama/Biden '08.
"Still, the poll suggests that despite his lead and the extremely favorable conditions for a Democratic candidate, Obama has not yet established himself as the firm choice of swing voters."
The worsening conditions of the economy are doing that just fine, thank you very much.
The GOP is in power because it is a party of deceit and their supporters are mostly a class of bigots; an easily manipulated and fickle group; religious junkies who think abortion trumps the economic pains of working class Americans no matter if the pains lead to death; businesses who care more about their profits above all else and will do everything to defend America's culture of greed; and policy hawks who think the better approach to solving America's problems abroad and protecting its interests worldwide is through preemptive measures rather than peace and diplomacy. Hypocrites and bigots in the GOP should first look at Palin's "good work" shout-out to the Alaska Independence Party (the group that hates the federal government and is cosnidered to be anti-American) and her husband's secessionist past, before they hypocritically accuse Obama of his past associations with people he absolutely has nothing to contribute to their actions (Palin is the wife of a former secessionist and a member of a group dedicated to breaking up the United States of America.
And I think continued support for Palin equals anti-Americanism and a belief that Alaska should be allowed to seceede, even though Sarah and Todd are not currently secessionists. If not, then voters should question, vigorously, Palin's past separatist activities or they'd be pure bigots and racists and Hitler wannabes for opposing Obama merely because of his race.
Here we are watching the debate hoping this is a good format for John McCain to excel at, and the first thing he does is spring this on us," Lewis said. "This is not a good way to win friends and influence people."
