I want the old John McCain back. I liked him. I could vote for him. This character his handlers have him projecting in order to get elected is appalling. That he has gone along with it, unfortunately, speaks volumes about the man.

McCain is connected to Nazi supporters and Central American death squads.. so says
FoxNews and Washington Post (two Republican news publishers)

The old guy has a long infamous past.

I am an independent and am now determined to vote for Obama. Mr. Hot did not impress me throughout the three debates (including the third and last) because, like this article suggests he is just "hot" and not as susbstantive as Mr. Cool who quietly makes his points. Also, Mr. Hot stated that for him the country comes first . If so, it is incomprehensible that he chose a pretty-faced, apparently vengeful ("troopergate" famed), governor of Alaska to pass on the baton for this world's greatest and most powerful nation in case of his demise despite availability of many other excellent similar-aged candidates from thre Republican party, especially if (and he knows that) he is 72 and was just recently treated for cancer. Mr. Cool on the other hand, despite being relatively very young and healthy, chose a right guy the country will feel comfortable with. Here, I am reminded of an article by Joe Klein in the Ocober 26, 2006 isue of Newsweek, predicting then (when both the democratic nomination and the Republican front-runner were unimaginable!!) "The Next President". Kudos to the Newsweek foresight.

On the issue of the recent nerve-racking financial mess, both are typically uncommitted, perhaps because Bernake and the Bush cabinet are doing everything that is right. The greedy, thoughtless and unpatritotic CEO's and Board Chairmen of the companies that evolved and executed this so-called mortgage based securities and subprime loans are the real culprits and should be sent to prison for life. I am not able to judge clearly who, Mr. Cool or Mr. Hot, if elected President, would have the guts to bring these guys to proper justice. These guys, not Bush and company, instaed of getting bonuses or hefty severence payments, must see the prison bars for the rest of their life, if we are a true democracy, to set a precedent fof a severe punishment for such irresponsible greed. Well, we may ahve a better chance with Mr. cool because he doesn't have the luxury of his wife's multimillion-dollar wealth!!

One last thing, which neither Newsweek nor Time or New York Tmes or Washington Post ever brought up is the tremendous advantage our contry may have in improvig our standing and trade with the nations of the african continent if we elect Obama as our next President. That continent will be most sought after area for trade and business in this century and we should beat China before they establish a strong foothold.there.

    Thanks.

I have been extremely disappointed in Newsweek since the beginning of the '08 elections. As an avid reader of Newsweek for the past decade (since Jr. High), the recent election related articles are very worrying. Not only have the opinion sections been unilaterally biased towards Barack Obama, so have the overall tenor of news articles. Furthermore, I have been surprised of the lack of coverage on the economy; of course I can't comment on the new issue as I have still not received it...

With continued evidence that the public policies of the Republican lead governments have failed our younger generations in supporting their education, I become even more committed to my responsibility to vote. A complaint to a news outlet that they have slanted their reported is akin to complaining that fire is hot. We who grew-up in the period of assassination and political scandal had learned in Junior High that all news outlets are biased. One learned to be critical consumers and then select from the options of resources available in a free society. My hope is that the public educational system is able to be restored when Senators Obama and Biden are installed into the Executive Branch of the Government; preparing future generations to be critical of the information they receive and selective in their consumption.

AJC Strongly Condemns Rev. Jesse Jackson's Comment on American Jews
October 14, 2008 - New York - The American Jewish Committee (AJC) has condemned the Rev. Jesse Jackson's statement about 'Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades.'
"Rev. Jackson's remarks, which appeared in an interview with the journalist Amir Taheri in today's New York Post, echo classic anti-Semitic conspiracy theories about Jewish power," said AJC Executive Director David A. Harris. 'This statement, regrettably, is not the first troubling comment by Rev. Jackson regarding Israel, Zionism and the Jewish people.'

Arguing as a private citizen that an Obama administration could bring significant change to U.S. foreign policy, Jackson was quoted as saying that "Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades" would lose much of their influence should Senator Obama be elected president."

And people are upset about raciest comments some in the crowd are allegedly saying at Palin events? Isn't this the same Democrat leader who once called New York "Hymietown"?

President Bush could not get the Republicans to vote in favor of the budget bailout. Mr. Mc Cain stopped his campaign to lead the direction of the budget bail out and did not even get his State to vote in favor of it. Sarah Palin did not get her state to come along on the first vote either. Is there a law that prevents the Republican's from conceding the election before 04 November? I think the US would save some significant money by not holding the election, which may be used to fund the bail out. At least in this way the Republicans can be part of the economic solution.

I have been disappointed in the lack of tribute to Paul Newman in the media. He was our greatest actor, a benevolent philanthropist, and a kind, humble human being. I was sorry to see that NEWSWEEK didn't give him a better memorial.

I have been very disappointed in the lack of tribute to Paul Newman in the media. He was our greatest living actor, a compassionate philanthropist, and a humble human being. I was sad that NEWSWEEK didn't give him the proper memorial he deserved.

Lou Dobbs reports on ACORN corruption and ties to Obama, including Obama Campaign paying ACORN $800,000 for voter registration activities.

The link below describes how some in Congress tried to use the original version of the bailout bill to divert money eventually recovered to groups like ACORN, a group Obama has a long association with. See: Wall Street Journal
