Bill Maher and Louis Farrakhan: Obama's fans?
The only people who still believe in the objectivity of Hollywood film makers are Hollywood film makers and their liberal friends. The rest of us simply don't bother with Hollywood anymore. I can't even remember the last time I was in a theater. The movies that come out of Hollywood are self serving cr*p. The theater is itself a dive I wouldn't want to be caught dead in.
I long ago reached the conclusion that Hollywood simply doesn't believe that I and half the American electorate exist. They are absolutely certain that they and their liberal friends make up 95% of the American population. Which is why they are always so shocked whenever a Republican manages to get elected to any office, least of all President.
For Hollywood, it's the equivalent of waking up and finding the sun rising in the west. It just shouldn't happen, so they stand around talking about it and how to fix it because it has to be wrong. It can't possibly be natural.
Saying that Oliver Stone has released a "fair" interpretation of President Bush weeks before the Presidential election, is like saying Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft, is dirt poor and takes handouts from passers by. If you believe one, you can believe the other. And I have a bridge for sale.
They should stop paying these actors so much money, they don't deserve it. We are the ones struggling, not them.
I'm excited about this movie not because I expect it to be mere cartoonish Bush bashing but because it will provide as yet unseen nuances and shading to Bush the man. Don't get me wrong, Bush has set the bar improbably low for incompetent leadership but I don't believe (or I don't want to believe) that it is the sum of the man. I think that he, like all of us at some point in our lives, allowed his shortcomings to get the better of him.
I think you're an idiot.
MCGILL: You should really look into a fact check website and not rely on McCain ad's and Fox news for reliable information.
http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/a_new_stitch_in_a_bad_pattern.html - Obama's Tax plan. He will not be raising taxes on working americans like you imply. Please attempt to inform yourself a bit more before rambling on like you have a clue.
You need to stop listening to liberal stations and realize that politicians give you every promise but will never go through with it when they get into office. So have fun being taxed.
Ha Duck Soup...little freudian slip there huh??? "Let OBAMA run free for over 7 years" Exactly. Keep thinking Obama is such a great guy, will be a wonderful leader.
And correction MChieco.....9/11 began on Clinton's watch. He saw it coming, he was aware, but he got out and turned a blind eye. And what message will Obama send ,Chieco , to terrorists?? He won't honor our anthem, won't wear our flag because other nations dislike us so. He hangs a cuban terrorist flag in his office, is affiliated with a terrorist and hates the white man.... does that not scream attack my country because I hate it so?
Of course Stone is a Bush fan. Bush is like a director. He makes up his own movie. And movies are so much more fun than reality.
Bush, McCain and their cronies told us reality doesn't matter. It is so much better and more liberating. That way we can run up more debt in Bush's 8 years than every President in the history of the United States before him ran up combined. That way we can fight an endless war which we never should have gotten into in the first place. That way the ordinary folks who vote for Bush can feel like they are being showered with endless cascading wealth trickling down from on high.
It's so much better to ignore reality than deal with the facts that Bush and McCain deregulated our economy into the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, dragged us into an endless war which we had no business starting in the first place, and let Obama run free for over 7 years after he perpetrated the worst attack on America since Pearl Harbor.
The problem I see with this is that many people have died because this 'nice man" decided to save the world. Does that bear any weight? It is easy to portrait a leader from an "objective" perspective. Too bad those of us who have suffered with so many victims are not that magnanimous. It may be "Springtime for Hitler and Germany", for Mr. Stone and some of you, but for some of us (a huge number of us) the guy is not funny, not worth any pity or consideration. A pure and simple war criminal.
911 happened on Bush's watch. He was President for 9 months. He set a record for the most vacation taken by a new President. Ever think that may have sent a message to the people that attacked us that the new President wasnt watching the store ? Take office as President and go on extended vacation ? Does the buck ever stop with this dimwit ?
Seriously??? Haven't you guys lied about Bush enough already? Why would the film be marketed with a trailer that portrays Bush as a criminal idiot embarassment moron glib warmonger. But maybe that is ' better than you'd think' to quote Alan Brinkley. Maybe it's better than Brinkley 'thinks' but hardly anything approaching the approach of a historian.
At least this one will stick around in a DVD format after its theater run. Yet ''Path to 9/11''has been effectively disappeared, much the same as Disneys ''Song of the South'',a period piece deemed too racist by its owners.[strangely enough however,DISNEYLAND and DISNEY WORLD still employ the lyrics to ''Zippity-Doo-Dah'',a major song from that film at all of their parks]. The pressure that the Clinton mafia put on television executives to scrap the film [debated in the Sept.2008 documentary ''Blocking The Path To 9/11''], and remove it from any further distribution does not square with liberal concepts of free discourse. Although a similar move by CBS to scrap the miniseries ''The Reagans'' was performed by moving it to SHOWTIME,VIACOM made it into a DVD format which can be purchased on AMAZON.
stevenl9982 you might want to look into the bogus claims by Obama about the number of small businesses under the $250,000.00 range. Quite inaccuraate.
When someone makes a movie that is glowing in its praise for the GOP, then of course it is seen as being an accurate interpretation of the facts. When someone makes a movie that reveals the rest of the story or a dark side of the Republican party, then of course it is just another nasty hollywood type interpretation that plays fast and loose with the truth. This country has taken off its rose colored glasses and that is not good for the Republican party. The usual lies and distortions are not as effective as they once were. We have seen the light, in other words and what that light is showing us , is a GOP party that is corrupt from the ground up.
Just to be fair is there ever a movie that views the republicans in a bad light that you would see as unfair?
Obama will not raise taxes if you make 42k or more, it's 250k or more.
Obama will be taking from the rich 5% of the country - it's been verified, do some research other than Fox news.
ANY president will have to reduce the military budget. With the economic crisis at hand, spending on all fronts will have to be cut back and revenues will have to be increased greatly. You do realize that your republican administration has squandered away our surplus and put our country in enormous debt. They had to remove the Debt counter in NY to add a digit, THATS HOW MUCH SPENDING REPUBLICANS HAVE DONE.
Calling Obama a terrorist is ignorant and biggotry. Do you really think a terrorist would be a member of our senate? Do you really? Are you that intellectualy bankrupt?
You sound like one of those ignorant people at the McCain rallies and you should be ashamed of yourself. You are the type of person that not only gives this country a bad name throughout the world, but incites hate and anger in the country. Thats a christian way to live huh? Educate yourself on facts, and here is a tip. You wont find them on conservative radio or fox news. Do some actual fact chekcing.

"Video Unearthed Democrats in their own words Covering up the Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac Scam that caused our Economic Crisis"
In a few weeks we will make a choice that will decide our future.
I follow an economist named Bob Proctor. He has called the top and bottom of every market crash since the 70s correctly.
Also, he perfectly predicted the current real estate market meltdown and the picture he paints about what will happen in the next couple years
is terrifying. He thinks it will be worse then the great depression.
The banks in the U.S. are going under one after the other. Countrywide ,Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch , Fanny and Freddy Mae ,AIG
The government took them over because they are essentially bankrupt. Even with the goverment nationalizing hundreds of billions of dollars in debt the stock market is crashing
the credit markets are frozen and all of us may suffer beyond anything in the last 80 years.
McCain just like Bush " doesn't understand the economy".
That not just my opinion its his own words. Not only does he not understand how to fix it but he does not understand exactly what is broken.
It is no surprise that he doesn't. The people that make up these securities use complex mathematical models very few people understand.
Bush and McCain both can take the credit for this mess since they helped deregulate the laws that were protecting us.
Bush's economic advisor Phil Graham wrote the deregulation bill that allowed banks to take huge risks with all of our future.
Now, Phil Graham is the head of McCain's economic policy. He is also McCain's choice for the next secretary of the treasury.
No one in this country can afford for that to happen. The last time Bush met with his economic advisors was in March. He didnt realize that anything was wrong. Phil Graham had the guts to say that we are in a mental recession after he helped create the worst economy meltdown in our lifetime. It will take the best and brightest minds in the world to get us out of this nightmare. As bad as Bush has done, McCain would be
even more destructive because things are in much worse shape. The next president will not inherit a surplus like Bush did but a crashing economy and a 11,600,000,000,000 (trillion) dollars deficit. Most of it Bush created and it will take decades to pay it back.
If you do what you have always done then you will get what you have always got.
When it comes to policy Bush and McCain are the same 90 percent of the time.
So why are the polls even close then ?
Mccains team just said they no longer want to talk about the economy.Instead they would like to spend time talking about obama
which means running the biggest smear campaign in history.
They think they can just tell you lies and you wont be smart enough to see through it
Let's teach him we are smarter than that .

I met George W. Bush in Arlington Texas when he was just a fractional owner of the Texas Rangers baseball team. He was an arrogant assh*le. I believe this to be his true nature. I have also met his dad on a couple of occasions. He was always warm, friendly and gracious, even though I now totally disagree with many of his actions and his "world" view.
Floridave writes "Don't expect Hollywood to by privy to the inner sanctum of the Bush administration." Yes yes Floridave, I wholeheartedly agree that Hollywood, in this case Stoned Hollywood, obviously wasn't privy to the "inner sanctum" (would that be his lower intestine?) relative to Bush's Iraq War motive, otherwise Oliver Stoned, wouldn't have portrayed that motive as being about freedom or spreading democracy.
