AJC Strongly Condemns Rev. Jesse Jackson's Comment on American Jews
October 14, 2008 - New York - The American Jewish Committee (AJC) has condemned the Rev. Jesse Jackson's statement about 'Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades.'
"Rev. Jackson's remarks, which appeared in an interview with the journalist Amir Taheri in today's New York Post, echo classic anti-Semitic conspiracy theories about Jewish power," said AJC Executive Director David A. Harris. 'This statement, regrettably, is not the first troubling comment by Rev. Jackson regarding Israel, Zionism and the Jewish people.'

Arguing as a private citizen that an Obama administration could bring significant change to U.S. foreign policy, Jackson was quoted as saying that "Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades" would lose much of their influence should Senator Obama be elected president."

Professor Olson adds: 'In aggregate, the map of the territory Republican won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of this great country. Democrat territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off various forms of government welfare...' Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the 'complacency and apathy' phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached the 'governmental dependency' phase.

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegal's and they vote, then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.

One thing for sure - Howard Fineman will never write an indepth article on Barrack Obama that really hits hard at the issues. I have never seen such a weak article written by someone who gets paid big bucks to say absolutely nothing. Barrack Obama - if you listen to him - and what he is really saying - If you have been successful, he wants to TAKE ALL YOUR SUCCESS and give it to some body who is lazy. Shame on him!

The economic truth is simply: If you work, Obama will take the money from you and give it to someone else who does not. . He wants to tax small business (those with 2 or 3 employees in California) and take their money and give it to those who did not budget properly when they bought their homes (or worst yet give it to investors who got caught up in the overheat housing market.) He is not qualified to be President.

Gee, jimmyboy - I'm glad you think $100,000 is "chump change" since he became a senator - first term, and only worked for half - probably not that. As you know, spent most of his time running for president. You people just are "wowed" by style over substance. He's a smooth operator, I will give him that. And I will give Fineman points - whomever is elected, they won't be able, or willing, to do what needs to be done.

raise taxes, lower taxes- whatever. We have to examine total tax burden. State, local, county and federal. The Reagan republicans are always crowing about "local control" as an excuse to cut federal taxes but then they push the burden (code word "choices") onto the local level. We get fewer and fewer highway dollars from Washington, the feds push more mandates without funding (think special ed and nclb). Remember, "local control" doesn't necessarily translate into "fairer control". Lobbyists, special interests, and wealthy contributers can more easily sway a smaller budget and government. Show me a way you can give the same level of service for fewer TOTAL tax dollars and I will listen to you. Otherwise, you can have your federal taxx cuts. I'll take safe roads, a well armed military and an educated populace.

HolyRoller, JoseMarti and similar posters: Do me, yourself and the GOP Party a favor: Put just half the effort that you put into bashing Obama and the Democrats into praising the real values of the Republican Party and it's ticket if you want to get McCain elected. It turns off Independent voters and so basically serves the Dem's interests.

Ron Paul said during the campaign; we can only afford 6 aircraft carriers, not 12; we have to cut the military in half, etc....and of course he lost.

I guess the one question I have for the candidates: We are told to maximize our 401K - which for the most part is either made of stocks, bonds, and/or cash for most of us. We are now told that when we retire (and many Americans will in the next 4 years, Obama wants to raise the TAX on the money we start to take out of our 401K plans. How will either candidate generate enough jobs to keep people in the workforce longer?

I found it odd that the "town hall" audience that Brokaw had looked so bored - there was one lady that seemed to react, but most of them seemed bored out of their minds. Was it that Brokaw did not know how to pick questions on different issues such as immigration, judicial court judges, favorite American characters (or least favorite), religious beliefs, etc. This would have been a true town hall instead of the major boredom.
