Here We Go Again—Maybe

The election is far from over, but the historical handicapping has already begun. Will 2008 be the liberals' 1980? Or not?

Comment: Obama in this video, addressing his work with ACORN litigation relating to the community reinvestment act and the failure of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, as they relate to the current real estate and financial crisis, states that, and I quote:

"Subprime lending started out as a good idea, helping Americans buy homes who previously could not afford to. Financial institutions created new financial instruments that could securitize these loans, slice them into finer and finer risk categories, and spread them out among investors and around the country, as well as around the world. In theory, this should have allowed mortgage lending to be less risky, and more diversified."

    He further states:

"The original idea was a good one, which was, lets see if we can distribute risk more broadly, and make it easier to provide loans to people who otherwise might not be able to get one."

Listen for yourself. You cannot dispute the mans on words recorded live:

Obama in this second video is campaigning at a convention of Acorn and I believe two other "Community Activist" organizations. Ask if he will be their ally if he becomes President, Obama says, quote:

"Yes, but let me say that before I even get inaugurated, during the transition we are going to be calling all of you in to help us shape the agenda. We're going to be having meetings all across the country with community organizations so that you have input into the agenda for the next presidency of the United States of America."

See and hear it for yourself. Obama promised that Acorn and other groups like it will setting his agenda if elected:

Democrats were not targeted, as the were all in the tank with Fannie and Freddie to kill the regulations. Hear that, the article admits that Republicans were trying to regulate Freddie and Fannie, and Democrats were trying to stop it from happening as a means to facilitate the Community Reinvestment Act.

Comment: FactCheck.Org is owned by the Annenberg group of Chicago! Talk about a conflict of interest! And Obama has been telling people on the trail to check out the site to verify his opponents claims. Funny, every time that he endorsed something, it turns out to be a part of his spin machine! Like he raised objections in the primaries when Indiana required photo I.D. to vote. He Protested that It took away people's right to vote! I
knew then and there that he was up to no good! America, wake up from the MASS HYPNOSIS!

Comment: PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE TO BE HELD SUNDAY AT COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY

The Free and Equal Elections Coalition (FREE) and the Columbia Political Union are pleased to announce that a Presidential debate will be held this coming Sunday, October 19th, 2008, on the campus of Columbia University.

ALL SIX of the Presidential candidates who appear on enough state ballots to acquire the 270 Electoral Votes needed to become President are invited. They are as follows (listed in alphabetical order by affiliation):

    Constitution Party Candidate: Chuck Baldwin
    Democratic Party Candidate: Barack Obama
    Green Party Candidate: Cynthia McKinney
    Independent Candidate: Ralph Nader
    Libertarian Party Candidate: Bob Barr
    Republican Party Can John McCain

The Columbia Political Union will present the debate from 8:00pm to 10:00pm in the Altschul Auditorium, located at 417 International Affairs Building. The debate will be moderated by Pacifica Radio's Amy Goodman, the host of "Democracy Now!". CSPAN will cover the debate, and live radio broadcasts are expected.

"The Columbia Political Union is committed to energizing political discourse on Columbia's campus," said Allon Brann, Columbia Political Union Publisher. "As a non-partisan organization, we work to provide students with opportunities to encounter and engage with political ideas across a wide ideological spectrum, and on a wide range of issues."

"It is with these goals in mind that we have organized this Presidential Debate: to give all candidates-- either within or outside of the political "mainstream"-- the opportunity to speak directly to students about their goals on the issues they deem critical for this country."

"We have invited all eligible candidates, and it is our sincere hope that all will participate, to ensure the substance and rigor of the dialogue which we believe is crucial at this time."

Certified letters officially inviting each candidate have been sent to the respective campaigns.

The Free and Equal Elections Coalition and the Columbia Political Union await the response from the candidates. All candidates' supporters are encouraged to contact the Presidential campaigns and urge them to attend.

The Columbia Political Union seeks to enhance involvement in the political process, domestic and international, and draw every member of the campus community into an ongoing discussion of political ideas.

FREE is a coalition of political parties, independent citizens and civic organizations formed to promote free and equal elections in the United States.

Comment: How can Obama have 3 times the budget of McCain and STILL be dropping in the polls? Is it that hard to buy out stupid people and illegally register dead people & fictional characters to vote? Two days ago I was ready to write McCain off, but with Obama's numbers dropping and the Bradley Effect still in play, I think I will hang in there a little longer. Why you ask? Because I have the audacity of hope, that's why.

In a normal election year, Obama's link to Wright's "black values system" would disqualify him from the presidency in the eyes of most Americans.

    1. Obama told a crowd in Elko, Nevada,"I need you to go out and talk to your friends and neighbors. I want you to argue with them and get in their face." IS THIS ACCEPTABLE TO YOU? DIRTY POLITICS!

    2. When Stanley Kurtz began researching Obama's ties with terrorist William Ayers, the papers in the Richard J. Daley Library in Chicago were at first closed off to him for several days, apparently at the bequest of Nobama supporters. When Kurtz was appearing as a guest of Milt Rosenberg's radio show, Obama's supporters were ALERTED by campaign email and jammed the radio station (WGN) phone lines and sent in hundreds of protest emails.IS THIS ACCEPTABLE TO YOU? What happened to free speech? DIRTY POLITICS!

    3. Last month, St.Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce warned citizens that they would bring libel prosecution against anyone who made "false" statements against Obama. What happened to free speech? DIRTY POLITICS!

    4. Similarly, the Obama camp called for a criminal probe of the American Issues Project when it linked Obama to Ayers. DIRTY POLITICS!

    5. Saturday Night Live ran a spoof of the fininacial crisis that skewered Democratics like House Chairman Barney Frank. The tape disappeared from NBC's Web site and was replaced with another that omitted the reference to Frank.

    6. Obama sent 31 of his hired employees to Alaska to ASSIST in the Troopergate investigation? WHAT WAS HE THINKING? Just more dirty politics to try and dig up dirt on Sarah Pallin? DIRTY POLITICS!

Comment: Whether McCain won or lost tonight is not relevant. He succeeded in the first half hour to plant the seeds of a Reagan style wipeout. Reputable historians and economists overwhelmingly agree that the taxation imposed by and the ???stimulus??? spending and public works programs of FDR actually deepened and prolonged the Great Depression. It was the production demands of WWII that got the economy going again. And when the war was over, the economy promptly went into recession.

Point is, Obama's programs are tax and spend, and it does not really matter who he taxes, those taxes are going to be passed through the economy. Any first year economics student knows that taxation is a tool used to contract an economy experiencing inflation, because it reduces demand by reducing the amount of money individuals and businesses have to spend. It is contractionary, which is exactly what you do not want to do when the problem is that the economy is contracting already into recession. Like FDR, Obama's plans will only make it worse for longer.

Obama's tax and spending plans alone would be bad enough, but add Wright and Pelosi to the mix, with the three of them controlling both houses of Congress and the executive without and effective restraint, and you have something that should be something that causes concern even among moderate Democrats. Don't think so? Watch and listen to a C-SPAN video clip of the Congressional hearings at roughly the time McCain's attempt at S.190. to fix fannie and freddie.

      • Posted By: Nowforthetruth @ 10/16/2008 2:26:49 PM

Comment: Probably not. It seems that in a non-inflationary environment, borrowing so far has had little impact on interest rates, while tax cuts are immediate. Even the Dems admit this, as the "stimulus" checks are little more that a reduction in taxes paid. (at least to those who actually paid tax in the first place) while other taxes in higher income brackets are held constant, so no increase passed along through the economy.

The Law Review President gets to name ten individuals to write articles for the Review, and these ten people also get to control the content of the publication. All of the minorities and the liberals thought they finally had it made, that Obama would appoint ten left wing editors. Instead, Obama appointed three conservatives, three liberals and four moderates. That year the Law Review was critically acclaimed as the best run and best written Harvard publication in decades.

So when he wins in November, don't freak out. Obama is a centrist and will appoint a balanced cabinet full of active people who will really get things done. Kind of like the way our multi-cultural society is supposed to be.

He said it himself yesterday when a contrator asked him why should I vote for you when you are going to raise my taxes, Obama response was:" I have to share the wealth". the guy was on a TV show this morning and said that if Obama wants to treat us American just like the peasant in Robin Hood, he cannot have his vote. The guy said that he worked hard job since he did not have a college degree saved his money to finally reach the American Dream to hear that Obama wants to penalize him for working hard and save. This is not Cuba, Venezuela or the Soviet Union. next, we will hear bill Ayers will become minister of education and Jeremiah wright will be Secretary of State and Rezko will be pardoned and will replace Paulson. ACORN CEO will do public relation for Obama and Jim Johnson was former CEO of Fannie Mae (Obama Buddy), will take over Fannie Mae once more. Welcome to the decadence of the USA, South Chicago style!!!!!!!!!!! I know that Americans are not so stupid and will change their minds at voting booths unless they are under the kenyan devil spell of Obama ( you know black magic), they will wake up. Comment: Why Bill Ayers is important to this campaign?
John McCain should make the argument personal and something that the American people can identify and understand. John McCain views Bill Ayers as a founder of the Weathermen and Weather Underground and also founder of the Students for Democratic Society SDS on the campus of the University of Michigan. The University of Michigan had held the first sit-in against the war. John McCain and the other 600 Vietnam POWs believe Bill Ayers was responsible for prolonging the war and causing them to receive extra beatings by the North Vietnamese for refusing to show their exuberance for the antiwar effort in the United States. The North Vietnamese fought even harder and refused to negotiate or return our POWs given the organized antiwar protests in the United States. All the North Vietnamese had to do was wait and domestic antiwar protests orchestrated by Bill Ayers would cause the United States to surrender. John McCain spent five and half years as a POW and personally received extra beatings because of Bill Ayers. Barack Obama views Bill Ayers as a reformed domestic terrorist who did despicable things in the past but should be given a second chance today. For Barack Obama there was never a need to keep a distance from Bill Ayers. Maybe if Barack Obama could have walked in John McCains shoes for just one day and suffered just one of the extra beatings that John McCain endured for five and a half years because of Bill Ayers and his Weathermen antiwar movement then maybe Barack Obama might appreciate a need to keep a distance from Bill Ayers. Along with the SDS Students for Democratic Society, Weathermen Underground, the Black Panther Party also actively opposed the Vietnam War. Barack Obama received the support of Southside Chicago Congressman and former Black Panther party member Bobby L. Rush during his bid for the Illinois Senate. The Black Panther Party along with the Weathermen Underground prolonged John McCains captivity and caused him to receive extra beatings. It is ironic that Bill Ayers led the antiwar protests during the Vietnam era that caused John McCain to receive extra beatings and to experience nearly six years of captivity, and today Barack Obama has been leading antiwar calls against the Iraq war. Barack Obama can not understand why John McCain is not happy that Barack Obama has not kept a distance from Bill Ayers. If Barack Obama had walked in John McCains or any of the other 600 American POW???s shoes one day, he would have no problem understanding why he should have kept his distance from Bill Ayers. The word shunning comes to mind. If Barack Obama would have shunned Bill Ayers and members of the Black Panthers Party there would be no issue in tonights debate.

Comment: It really is simply all about honesty, about who can we trust. Looking at everything today it is literally too important to just follow old prejudices, biases and/or emotional attachments or to allow ourselves to be manipulated by subterfuge. Each of us has to be disciplined to be objective, rational and conscience driven to decide who we can trust to turn things around, to honestly change things. Even Bush???s actions indicate that he knows his policies have failed and that change is desperately needed. Each candidate says they will change everything and resolve the problems but we really can???t depend on what they say, whether it be about what they will do or how they criticize their opponent. Is it Obama-Biden or McCain-Palin who destroys their own credibility by depending on falsely slandering their opponent? Has Sarah Palin impressed that we can trust anything she says or just that she will say anything without any conscience? Has John McCain demonstrated that he is sincere and has he been consistent or does he constantly change positions and does his history of strong commitment to the Bush-Cheney/Republican policies that so greatly contributed to today???s problems just make him very questionable? Has Senator Biden been consistent in his career and does he seem to be consistent and truthful now? Throughout the primaries and the presidential campaign has Barack Obama stayed consistent and maintained a constant quality and the same level headed presentations that would encourage trust? All of the garbage that is being thrown around is distracting but the reality is that the real person we each have to be honest with is ourselves. To fail to see and act on the truth will only leave us at fault and then with more of the same or even worse.

Comment: William Timmons, the Washington lobbyist who John McCain has named to head his presidential transition team, aided an influence effort on behalf of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein to ease international sanctions against his regime.

The two lobbyists who Timmons worked closely with over a five year period on the lobbying campaign later either pleaded guilty to or were convicted of federal criminal charges that they had acted as unregistered agents of Saddam Hussein's government.

During the same period beginning in 1992, Timmons worked closely with the two lobbyists, Samir Vincent and Tongsun Park, on a previously unreported prospective deal with the Iraqis in which they hoped to be awarded a contract to purchase and resell Iraqi oil. Timmons, Vincent, and Park stood to share at least $45 million if the business deal went through.

Timmons' activities occurred in the years following the first Gulf War, when Washington considered Iraq to be a rogue enemy state and a sponsor of terrorism. His dealings on behalf of the deceased Iraqi leader stand in stark contrast to the views his current employer held at the time.

John McCain strongly supported the 1991 military action against Iraq, and as recently as Sunday described Saddam Hussein as a one-time menace to the region who had "stated categorically that he would acquire weapons of mass destruction, and he would use them wherever he could."

Timmons declined to comment for this story. An office manager who works for him said that he has made it his practice during his public career to never speak to the press. Timmons previously told investigators that he did not know that either Vincent or Park were acting as unregistered agents of Iraq. He also insisted that he did not fully understand just how closely the two men were tied to Saddam's regime while they collaborated.

But testimony and records made public during Park's criminal trial, as well as other information uncovered during a United Nations investigation, suggest just the opposite. Virtually everything Timmons did while working on the lobbying campaign was within days conveyed by Vincent to either one or both of Saddam Hussein's top aides, Tariq Aziz and Nizar Hamdoon. Vincent also testified that he almost always relayed input from the Iraqi aides back to Timmons.

Talking points that Timmons produced for the lobbyists to help ease the sanctions, for example, were reviewed ahead of time by Aziz, Vincent testified in court. Proposals that Timmons himself circulated to U.S. officials as part of the effort were written with the assistance of the Iraqi officials, and were also sent ahead of time with Timmons' approval to Aziz, other records show.

Moreover, there was a major financial incentive at play for Timmons. The multi-million dollar oil deal that he was pursuing with the two other lobbyists would only be possible if their efforts to ease sanctions against Iraq were successful.

Comment: How can You Trust McCain when he has Melanoma Cancer ?

    Thats how Stupid You sound.
    -----------------------
In this year's Debates, Republican Sen. John McCain said...

" We let Washington Change Us" and Ron Paul Rebuked that statement, and said....

"Washington may have Changed You and Others, but Washington, did not... Change Me"

    Consider that statement, from McCain...

Out of the Abundance of Your Heart, the.... MOUTH SPEAKS
    ------------------------------------
You Trusted George W. Bush, his Administration and John McCain, regarding the Invasion of Iraq, his Majority Ruled Congress & Senate, his Rhetoric of Downsizing Big Goverment, eventhough George W. Bush and his Majority Senate & Congress, in fact [ EXPANDED BIG GOVERNMENT] !! This Nation under George W. Bush Jr. became the BIGGEST DOLLING SYSTEM IN THE WORLD. Under GWB Jrs. Administration, along with John McCain, The De-Regulated, WallStreet went WILD, The Banking System went WILDER, The Mortgage Banks went even WILDER, The Land Developer's Sky Rocketed the Price of a Home, along with Appraisers, The Interest Only Loans and Sub Prime Lending Practice became KING in [6-7 YEARS] Also all the Forerign Land Investors GOBBLED UP the Investment Properties and Now they too are in a State of FIANANCIAL FAILURE and FINANCIAL DISSAPOINTMENT, now top that off with 2 Wars, one Completely Wrong [IRAQ] and Afghanistan, the jury is still out on that one, at a Cost of 1 Trillion Dollars and [Communist-Socialist China] LENDING THE USA the MONEY, with INTEREST and Your Lame A!! is not even CONCERNED in the Least, as long as he's WHITE an in the Oval Office.

PS: The Banking System will be and is a [Socialist Act] and once it Starts and it has, with the Over 250 Billion Ownwership in America's banks, it won't be long before the BANKS are Completely OWNED and OPERATED by the Federal Government [SOCIALISM]

I got no problem with it, but you seem to let George W. Bush Jr. and John McCain off the Hook with these Facts, because 90% of the time, McCain Voted with George W. Bush Jr. and was the Bull Horn for [DE-REGULATION]
    --------------------------------
McCain even said, "The Health Insurance Industry, should be ran like Wallstreet"

    Imagine That Scenario..Hmmm

What does that have to do with Providing this Nation's over 50 million with Affordable health care...Nothing

Note: Obama's Health care plan for those without any Health Care plan, Covers Patients even Pre-Conditions. Those that have their own Health Plan, will continue to Keep their Health Care Plans, those that are not Covered are Covered.
    ----------------------
I admire a man that is willing to Tax Himself as well as his Wife at a Higher Rate in Taxes, because Both Obama and his Wife, make More than 250,000 Per Year. A person should Lead by Example.

AJC Strongly Condemns Rev. Jesse Jackson's Comment on American Jews
October 14, 2008 - New York - The American Jewish Committee (AJC) has condemned the Rev. Jesse Jackson's statement about 'Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades.'
"Rev. Jackson's remarks, which appeared in an interview with the journalist Amir Taheri in today's New York Post, echo classic anti-Semitic conspiracy theories about Jewish power," said AJC Executive Director David A. Harris. 'This statement, regrettably, is not the first troubling comment by Rev. Jackson regarding Israel, Zionism and the Jewish people.'

Arguing as a private citizen that an Obama administration could bring significant change to U.S. foreign policy, Jackson was quoted as saying that "Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades" would lose much of their influence should Senator Obama be elected president."

Comment: The anti-semitic types are waaay over in the Ron Paul crew. If Israel is attacked, we will help her just as we did in 73. If you pose some hypothetical, I am sure the response will be the same, if attacked, we will support Israel.
If you want to try and Tie Barack to Jesse, that won't really work. Barack kicked Jesse to the curb in the Primaries. Didn't want or need him. Jesse is as done as last years turkey. If you are trying to scare friends of Israel, they tend to be in the top quintile in intellect and education, so get an A game.

Comment: In June sources released information that during his campaign for the State Senate in Illinois, Barack Obama was endorsed by an organization known as the Chicago ???New Party???. The ???New Party??? was a political party established by the Democratic Socialists of America (the DSA) to push forth the socialist principles of the DSA by focusing on winnable elections at a local level and spreading the Socialist movement upwards. The admittedly Socialist Organization experienced a moderate rise in numbers between 1995 and 1999. By 1999, however, the Socialist ???New Party??? was essentially defunct after losing a supreme court challenge that ruled the organizations ???fusion??? reform platform as unconstitutional.
After allegations surfaced in early summer over the ???New Party???s??? endorsement of Obama, the Obama campaign along with the remnants of the New Party and Democratic Socialists of America claimed that Obama was never a member of either organization. The DSA and ???New Party??? then systematically attempted to cover up any ties between Obama and the Socialist Organizations. However, it now appears that Barack Obama was indeed a certified and acknowledged member of the DSA???s New Party.
Obama???s membership within the ???New Party??? is disturbing as even Green Party members attacked the DSA and New Party as nothing more than a fringe group. The New Party had hoped to implement Socialist Rule in the United States and was established to counteract the influence of a Democratic Party that they viewed as too moderate and too centered. Now it seems that nearly 10 years after the socialist party fell apart, their strategy of upward growth has reached the White House. Obama???s ties to the DSA???s New Party is beyond just an association it is outright membership, as clearly defined by the parties August 1996 newsletter, in an outright Socialist organization.

Comment: Everybody knows that Barack Hussein Mohamed Obama is a communist. You cannot have associations like Ayers, Rezko, Wright, ACORN and not be a communist. I know that Americans are not so stupid and will change their minds at voting booths unless they are under the kenyan devil spell of Obama ( you know balck magic), they will wake up. Be careful of the riots when Obama does not win because most black people think that Barack hussein Mohamed Obama is already president.

Comment: BHO provides unmistakable proof why the National Journal's ideological ratings, based upon votes, ranked him as the Senate's most liberal member for 2007.

On the spending side of the ledger, Mr. Obama proposed a 10-year, $60 billion "National Infrastructure Reinvestment Bank," which is a highfalutin name for a scheme to fund dubious pork-barrel projects that can't pass muster in our pork-addicted Congress. The $60 billion is just a down payment; it will be used to leverage "almost half a trillion of additional infrastructure spending." Guess who's going to pay for all that. Not to worry because the whole scheme will "generate nearly 2 million new jobs." Mr. Obama has also proposed a 10-year, $150 billion program "to establish a green energy sector that will create up to 5 million new jobs." His nearly universal health care plan, which he implausibly asserts will reduce the average family's insurance premium by $2,500 per year, is projected to cost between $50 billion and $65 billion per year.

If Mr. Obama is beholden to taxpayer-funded, government-designed highway and energy pork projects, he has gone hog wild over "refundable tax credits," which is the polite description of taxpayer-financed cash payments to people who pay no income taxes. Mr. Obama promises a $4,000 refundable tax credit to finance college tuition for students who spend 100 hours performing community service. There will be a refundable 10 percent mortgage-interest tax credit for married couples who take the $10,900 standard deduction because their itemizable deductions (including mortgage interest) fall below that level. Couples will also receive a refundable $1,000 tax credit to offset payroll taxes even if their refundable earned-income tax credit (EITC) has already eliminated their payroll-tax burden. Taxpayers will also finance a $500 refundable tax credit to augment a $1,000 savings-account deposit made by families earning up to $75,000.
Mr. Obama also promises to "triple the [EITC] benefit for minimum-wage workers." Let's do the math. For a married couple with two children working full-time and earning the minimum wage ($5.85 per hour, $24,336 per year), their refundable EITC would rise from $3,225 to $9,675. They already qualify for refundable child tax credits totaling about $1,850. Mr. Obama would increase their refundable child-care tax credit to $3,000. Don't forget his refundable $1,000 tax credit to partly offset their $1,500 Social Security taxes, which had already been more than offset by their nearly $10,000 refundable EITC. If they put that $1,000 in the bank, they would get another refundable tax credit of $500.

                          2. Right now? I think we could take a long look at how Canada is running their country. They have the only banks that aren't up the creek, their dollar is worth more than ours, and their citizens don't have to pay $600/month or more for health insurance that won't cover anything. Do I think we should become a clone of Canada? No. However, we could stand to at least examine how they are doing business. Bush/McCain's methods have been proven not to work. Time to try something different.

As opposed to the USA, in which you pay for insurance, and they deny the procedure you need, so you never get it.

Problem is, this was winnable. The only question was who would win in the race to pick the least desirable VP. I thought Obama had lost when he chose that idiot Biden, but McCain managed to beat him to the bottom, by picking a running mate without proper vetting.

" You can quit pretending that you are running against Bush. We all know that the Bush comments were pretty much this election cycle's Willie Horton. Politics ain't pretty. That being said, the problem with McCain is that too many of his stated policies really are too damn close to Bush's.

Other than Palin (who solidified the Christian Conservative base, but alienated the center), the other problem was McCain's response to the economy. He sort of ran in circles, and came off resembling Kerry. He should have hired Gingrich instead of Schmidt as his campaign advisor.

Palin would have worked if they could have figured out a way to have the convention 48 hours before the election.... there was just too much time for a liberal press to tear her apart.

I would have bet on Romney facing Clinton early on.... at least that's what I was hoping for. I though Obama would have been a decent VP pic, which I still believe to be true. When you put him next to Biden, Obama looks like the #2 guy... but I guess Kennedy/Johnson had the same thing going on. I will always wonder if Romney wouldn't have done better in either the prez or veep slot... I guess we'll never know.

Until then, I will just hope that Obama isn't anywhere near as bad as I think he will be.

Comment: John McCain consistently gives the impression that he is not all that bright; frequently he appears to not know what to do, he changes positions often and then everything he ever does is always for him and his political status. He has clearly demonstrated all of that over his whole career and then again so obviously when he selected Sarah Palin, who is bazaar, self-focused, dishonest, incompetent and just ridiculous. Additionally we only need to look at the last eight years under Bush-Cheney and where we are today and remember, in spite of all of their claims to be different, who strongly and even arrogantly supported all of it and ask ourselves are we now going to reward and encourage that? It is very hard to see how this presidential race can even be close and it can only be explained by people being distracted and focused on the wrong things, by their giving credit to the garbage being thrown around and neglecting to focus on the issues. If we don???t want more of the same or even worse, then we had better put our biases and prejudices aside, refusing to let our emotions be manipulated, and concentrate on the reality of things. If we don???t, the looser won???t be Barack Obama, it will be us!

Comment: How can we trust Barack Obama on health care if he is a smoker?

Would not someone who really wants to hold down healthcare costs want to quit smoking.

Is Barack Obama a chain smoker or not? If he is only a closet smoker and not transparent by smoking in public and admitting that he has a nicotine addiction then how can we trust him on other issues that are truly grave?

Does he smoke a lot of cigarettes only when he plays poker with his Chicago friends or is it a daily habit?

We want to know if Barack Obama is going to promise to not chain smoke around Joe Biden because Joe Biden had asthma as a teenager.

The reason that Joe Biden could not fight for his country in 1968 during the peak of the Vietnam War was that he had teenage asthma.

Joe Biden had horribly bad luck, ninety percent of all children are diagnosed with asthma before age six but Joe Biden was unlucky enough to be in the ten percent group of children who acquire asthma after age six and became asthmatic when he was a teenager. After five student deferments while he attended college and law school, his teenage asthma finally came to the attention of his local Selective Service Board and he missed the opportunity to serve his country during time of war as an officer.

But for his bad luck with his teenage asthma diagnosis, Joe Biden could have gone in and served his country honorably as a officer and a gentleman and perhaps as a Judge Advocate Law Officer similar to his son.

We hope that Barack Obama will not smoke in front of Joe Biden because the smoke could aggravate Joe???s asthma that prevented him from serving his country during time of war.

We can not trust Barack Obama on health care if he is a smoker.

Comment: How can You Trust McCain when he has Melanoma Cancer ?

      Thats how Stupid You sound.

Mccain even said, "The Health Insurance Industry, should be ran like Wallstreet"

What does that have to do with Providing this Nation's over 50 million with Affordable health care...Nothing

His Health care plan for those without any Health Care plan, Covers Patients even Pre-Conditions.

I admire a man that is willing to Tax Himself as well as his Wife at a Higher Rate in Taxes, because Both he and his Wife, make More than 250,000 per year.

You cannot Conveniently Detach or Seperate John McCain from George W. Bush Jr...It Cannot be Done...Period

Comment: First, let me say that you are insane if you'll let something like smoking determine your vote. Second, he had quit smoking but only picked the habit back up on the campaign trail. And third, he has been quite transparent about it. Most news sources just choose not to report it because IT IS NOT NEWS.

Comment: WTF? That post speaks volumes about your desperation.

Who cares if he smokes? I'm more concerned about the economy, so I'll be voting against McCain and another 4 years of Bush's failed economic plan.

    Comment: Vote for John McCain!!!!!!!!

John McCain is the one who can come up with solutions to our economic problems. Barack Obama and Joe Biden are mathematically challenged.

Send them back to school and this time have them study something that is useful.

Joe Biden with his history and political science double major in college and Barack Obama???s major in political science give them absoloutely no economic, scientific, quantitative or analytical background to handle the pressing economic and military problems facing our country.

These two mathematically challenged Democrats are supposed to be able to crunch numbers and understand how to cope with our economic and budget crisis. Two people who probably can???t add four numbers together are suppose help solve our economic crisis.

Do you know that they offer basic accounting continuing education classes to lawyers because most lawyers do not understand simple accounting. We have had enough mathematically challenged lawyers screw up our country. You at least know that John McCain has the computational and analytic skills to compute fuel loads, cargo weights, wind speeds, and trip distances to keep from running out of gas on missions.

    Vote for John McCain!!!!!!!!
