OBAMA'S TAX POLICY: MIDDLE CLASS AND SMALL BUSINESS TAX CUTS!

LESS THAN $250K = 3x MORE TAX CUTS for MIDDLE CLASS under Obama's plan.
SMALL BUSINESSES= NO CAPITAL GAINS , $3K PER HIRE TAX CUT, 50% BENEFITS SUBSIDY
    OVER $250K= ONLY 3% increase

BARACK OBAMA ECONOMICS 101: MIDDLE CLASS TAX CUTS = CUSTOMERS WITH MONEY = SMALL BUSINESS PROFIT + SMALL BUSINESS TAX CUTS + AMERICAN JOBS= STRONG ECONOMY AND GROWTH

Check it out at www.barackobama.com for the real truth about Obama's Middle Class and Small Business plan to build this economy for the 21st Century!

Palin is going to have a hard time justifying this one but she will try. I can't trust McCain/Palin because it seems like everything they say is a lie and both have been slapped on the hand for ethics violations (Palin=Troopergate, McCain= Keating 5).

I see all these comments below about taxes. Barack's tax plan is similar to Clinton's. He just wants to roll back the Bush/McCain tax cuts that aren't working and give a little more to the middle class and small businesses to grow the economy and consumer confidence. Small business do get tax cuts to grow their business and DO NOT have to pay capital gains tax. Middle class workers get 3x TAX CUTS under Obama. When businesses have customers that have money to buy things/services, businesses make a profit and the economy grows. It is simple supply and demand economics 101.

Those making over $250K will only pay 3% more than now.

See for yourself so you know the facts before voting. You want to do what is best for you and the Country. www.taxcut.barackobama.com.

Obama's view of the future of America - Socialism which is the next step to Communism!!

Under socialism a ruling class of intellectuals, bureaucrats and social planners decide what people want or what is good for society and then use the coercive power of the State to regulate, tax, and redistribute the wealth of those who work for a living. In other words, socialism is a form of legalized theft.

The morality of socialism can be summed-up in two words: envy and self-sacrifice. Envy is the desire to not only possess another's wealth but also the desire to see another's wealth lowered to the level of one's own. Socialism's teaching on self-sacrifice was nicely summarized by two of its greatest defenders, Hermann Goering and Bennito Mussolini. The highest principle of Nazism (National Socialism), said Goering, is: "Common good comes before private good." Fascism, said
Mussolini, is "a life in which the individual, through the sacrifice of his own private interests??realizes that completely spiritual existence in which his value as a man lies."

Socialism is the social system which institutionalizes envy and self-sacrifice: It is the social system which uses compulsion and the organized violence of the State to expropriate wealth from the producer class for its redistribution to the parasitical class.

Despite the intellectuals' psychotic hatred of capitalism, it is the only moral and just social system.

Capitalism is the only moral system because it requires human beings to deal with one another as traders--that is, as free moral agents trading and selling goods and services on the basis of mutual consent.

Capitalism is the only just system because the sole criterion that determines the value of thing exchanged is the free, voluntary, universal judgement of the consumer. Coercion and fraud are anathema to the free-market system.

It is both moral and just because the degree to which man rises or falls in society is determined by the degree to which he uses his mind. Capitalism is the only social system that rewards merit, ability and achievement, regardless of one's birth or station in life.

    Yes, there are winners and losers in capitalism. The winners are those who are honest, industrious, thoughtful, prudent, frugal, responsible, disciplined, and efficient. The losers are those who are shiftless, lazy, imprudent, extravagant, negligent, impractical, and inefficient. [What about the role of luckbeing in the right place at the right time or the wrong place at the wrong time? R. R. Pope}

Capitalism is the only social system that rewards virtue and punishes vice. This applies to both the business executive and the carpenter, the lawyer and the factory worker.

I'm surprised by the stress given to the "socialism" argument by McCain's supporters. Palin has identified the "real America" as the rural, small town areas. I've never heard of agricultural subsidies criticized as socialism by the "real America." But, really, what else is it?

    Taxes:

-Those making between $250,000 and $400,000 annually will have less than $1,500 increase in their taxes. (These people are not complaining. Joe is not one of these people.)

-Those making more than $3 Million annually will pay only 23%.

This will PAY FOR the tax cuts given to the middle class.
This WILL NOT INCREASE THE DEFICIT!

    Calculate your taxcut: http://taxcut.barackobama.com/

    ...................

McCain has a Santa Clause approach to tax cutting. He wants to make cuts, but has not identified how it will be paid for. This will never pass Congress.

McCAIN'S TAX PLAN (or slogan) WILL WILL INCREASE THE DEFICIT!

    McCain has slogans not plans.

Jim Johnson: you have no real understanding of capitalism, socialism or communism for that matter. All you did here was provide the same crap rhetoric the replublican party is providing. No one is saying capitalism is bad. It is the best system and no one is trying to change that.

Even in the current system, those who make more money pay more taxes. Are you not aware of the current tax brackets based on income? Maybe you haven't filed taxes recently or in a lower bracket.

I'm sorry to break your simple ideolial bubble but the fact of the matter is we don't live in a pure capitalistic society and never have. What do you think social security is? How about continous fed injections to the market system that have happened currently and in the past regardless of republican/democratic stance. Did you forget savings and loan scandal of 1980s, Enron, bears stearn or even the latest 700 billion dollar bail out package? You consider this capitalism?

You mention "Coercion and fraud are anathema to the free-market system.". Are you trying to convince people of the utopia world of capitalism? This is one of the drawbacks of capitalism is greed which leads to fraud. Without proper regulation, human greed which is a double edge sword also causes the collapse of a capitalistic economy. Have you forgotten our past and present crisises?

I think you need to study up on capitalism and the history of it in our country than blurting out party sentiments that really don't resonate with current practice of capitalism in our country.

Simply stating Obama is socialist with ideological utopian view of capitalism shows your lack of understanding of the current economic system.

    RoboHate.

The McCain/Palin campaign is now combining our analog (or digital, cell) telephones with computers, and has produced RoboHate calls against his opponent, to enliven hatred wherever possible.

Hate is not good for the country. And McCain/Palin uses hatred too often. However, McCain/Palin stumbles grossly on unity.

This country needs unity in difficult times. Yes We Can. Obama/Biden is right for this country right now.

On October 10, the Alaska Legislative Council found Sarah Palin guilty of abusing power. Immediately Ms. Palin said "if you read the report you'll see that there was nothing unlawful or unethical about replacing a cabinet member." This quote by Palin is only 50% true. The Legislative Council report says it was LEGAL for her to fire Commissioner Monegan, since as Governor she has the right to hire and fire her staff at will. The report also says that her firing of Commissioner Monegan was an UNETHICAL abuse of power.

Palin tells you half of the truth, and lies outright about the other half. You know the old saying: If you tell a lie, make sure it contains some truth so it will be believable.

    From the report:

Palin tried to force the Commissioner to prosecute Trooper Wooten (her former brother in law) for illegally shooting a moose. The Commissioner explained to Palin that if they charged Wooten they would also have to bring charges against Palin's sister, who was present on the hunt, had the moose permit and illegally let her husband use it. They would also have to prosecute Palin's father, who cut up the moose and stored it in his freezer, sharing the meat with the Palin family. In other words, the Palins were OK with Wooten illegally shooting the moose when it happened. They participated in the hunt and kept the meat. But a year later when Wooten was divorcing Palin's sister, suddenly the Palins turned him in for illegally killing a moose.

The Palins turned Wooten in to the State Troopers disciplinary commission about a year and a half before she became Governor. The Troopers investigated Wooten, finding that some of Palin's allegations were true and some were false. The Troopers disciplined Wooten with a few days' suspension. When Palin tried to get Monegan (the new Commissioner) to re-open the case once she was Governor, Monegan told her he couldn't do it. All the allegations had already been investigated and Palin had no new evidence. Trooper Wooten belongs to a union, and he can not be fired just because the Governor doesn't like him.

So, the Palins hired a private investigator to trail Wooten, trying to catch him doing something wrong. The investigator took photos of Wooten dropping his kids off at school, using his patrol car. The Palins file a complaint, saying it is illegal for him to ferry his kids in a patrol car. They try and get him fired for this, except it turns out that since Wooten was working a swing shift, his Commander had given him a waiver to bring his kids to school in the car.

Wooten and Palin's sister have been divorced 3 years, yet the Palins continue to persecute Wooten. Palin just can't forgive and get past this family drama.

Freeper troll NowForTheTruth correctly reports that Sarah was not found guilty of wrongdoing for firing Commissioner Monagen. But he hides the OTHER finding of the Alaska Troopergate investigation, which is that Sarah violated the law by abusing her power for personal reasons by trying to get trooper WOOTEN fired.

When John McCain picked Sarah Palin as his running mate, I went on-line and researched her record. Within two days, I knew about this investigation and all the evidence against her, I knew she had lied about 80% of her record, because there are public records online that state otherwise. I knew she had absolutely no experience for the office she is running for. At that point, I lost whatever respect I had for John McCain.

  • Posted By: SteveMDFP @ 10/14/2008 12:22:14 PM

Palin certainly acted unethically. Dismissing the findings as the result of a "fishing expedition" is ridiculous. The committee running this investigation had 10 republicans to 4 democrats.
Note that she refused to comply with a subpoena in the investigation. She could be found in contempt and sent to jail for this in January when the legislature goes into session.

Wouldn't that be nice? On inauguration day, a prospective VP in jail or a fugitive from justice. Just imagine.

This is *relatively* small potatoes, in truth. The bigger issue is that McCain was shockingly reckless to pick a VP who was in the midst of an ethics probe. Palin is a shockingly inappropriate choice for this role. McCain has proven himself to have terrible judgement.

The Palin investigation was about whether she abused her powers in firing Monegan. THE REPORT FOUND:

"I find that, although Walt Monegan's refusal to fire Trooper Michael Wooten was not the sole reason he was fired by Governor Sarah Palin, it was likely a contributing factor to his termination as Commissioner of Public Safety. IN SPITE OF THAT, GOVERNOR PALIN'S FIRING OF COMMISSIONER MONEGAN WAS A PROPER AND LAWFUL EXERCISE OF HER CONSTITUTIONAL AND STATUTORY AUTHORITY TO HIRE AND FIRE EXECUTIVE BRANCH DEPARTMENT HEADS." (Report at 8, emphasis added).

Once that finding was made, the remaining findings, placed out of order for clearly political reasons, are nothing more than a fishing expedition , or rather, investigator Sen. Hollis French's promised "October Surprise." ,

The investigation was bipartisan, right up to the time Palin was selected to run as vp. Then Democrat investigator Sen. Hollis French gave a September 2 interview in which he warned the inquiry would yield an "October Surprise" for the GOP. Any judge in the country would be recused for making such a remark. Hell, the left demands the recusal of justices simply because they went fishing, never mind predicting the outcome before the evidence. Yet French did not recuse himself, and both French and the person responsible for oversight, Democratic Sen. Kim Elton, are both in the famous "Obama Headquarters" photo"

Rep. John Coghill, a Republican who criticized the handling of the investigation, said it was "well-done professionally." But he said some of the conclusions were judgment calls by Branchflower, and recommended readers should view them with a "jaundiced eye." Somehow, this second part gets dropped out of the main stream coverage. I wonder why?

Geez, if I didn't know better, I would think that "nowforthetruth" is somewhat miffed with Dems in general and some more than others. But he/she failed to discuss the matter at hand since he/she apparently doesn't think the Pugs have ever done anything politically unjust. It seems to me that we should start with Bush, Cheney and Co. and end with McCain and Palin. If you can't look at our country and see the RAPE AND PILLAGE attributable to Republicans Bush /Cheney directly, then you must be blind. And if you think that these Republican sLYING trategies will stop with McCain and Palin, think again because that is the very issue being discussed here - Palin is also a LIAR! She abused her power of office in a personal vandetta and that is a crime. You and Palin may want to read the Branchflower differently, but it still comes down to the same thing - she is a crook. I hope that Atty. Petumenos is able to find even more than Branchflower did and that she is fined and impeached or at least never re-elected to her current position, because I believe she should never be elected to any other public office now that the entire nation has seen how completely IGNORANT [no clue about anything historical or current in our nation or world] and UNQUALIFIED she is to hold any office. She has less general knowledge than an elementary student [my apologies to students everywhere] and should never be permitted to serve in any public office because now the nation knows she is morally reprehensible as well. So owforthetruth, do the research on your Pugs as well so you might learn both sides of the olitical story!

    THE GREAT BUSH DEPRESSION
I follow an economist named Bob Proctor. He has called the top and bottom of every market crash since the 70s correctly.
He perfectly predicted the current meltdown and the picture he paints about what will happen next
is terrifying. He thinks it will be worse then the great depression.
The banks in the U.S. are going under one after the other. Countrywide ,Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch , Fanny and Freddy Mae ,AIG
The government took them over because they are bankrupt. Even with the goverment nationalizing hundreds of billions of dollars in debt the stock market is crashing
the credit markets are frozen and all of us may suffer beyond anything seen in generations
McCain just like Bush " doesn't understand the economy".
That not just my opinion its his own words. Not only does he not understand how to fix it but he does not understand how its been broken.
It is no surprise that he doesn't. The people that make up these securities use quantum mathematical models very few people understand.
Bush and McCain both can take the credit for this mess since they helped deregulate the laws that were protecting us.
Bush's economic advisor Phil Graham wrote the deregulation bill that allowed banks to take huge risks with all of our future.
Now, Phil Graham is the head of McCain's economic policy. He is also McCain's choice for the next secretary of the treasury.
No one in this country can afford for that to happen. The last time Bush met with his economic advisors was in March. He was the last to know somthing was wrong. Phil Graham had the guts to say that we are in a mental recession after he helped create the worst economy meltdown in our lifetime. Check out this link to the truth http://my.barackobama.com/keatingvideo
It will take the best and brightest minds in the world to get us out of this nightmare. As bad as Bush has done, McCain would be
even more destructive because things are in much worse shape. The next president will not inherit a budget surplus like Bush did but a crashing economy and a 11,600,000,000,000 (trillion) dollars deficit. Most of it Bush created and it will take decades to pay it back.
If you do what you have always done then you will get what you have always got.
When it comes to policy Bush and McCain are the same 90 percent of the time.
So why are the polls even close then ?
Mccains team just said they no longer want to talk about the economy.Instead they would like to spend time talking about obama
which means running the biggest smear campaign in history.
They think they can just tell you lies and you wont be smart enough to see through it
Let's teach him we are smarter than that

Obama is listed third, after Dodd and Kerry, even though Obama is just a junior Senator. Obama is followed next by Clinton. Barney Frank and Nancy Pelosi are on the list as well.
