The Republican Brand is dead and Palin is going out with their failed policies...
You are" right on - Palin and McCain don't have anything to offer the Ameruican people they proclaim to love - they are only interested in promoting themselves and to hell with everyone else."
it;s a sad commentary on some of the American public if they think McCain is fit to lead this country - the fact that he was chosen, in the frst place as the GOP candidate, is a bit scary, and then to top it all off, he picks this opportunist, Palin, who is clueless about life in general, and about how governemnt should operate in particular, speaks volumes about the way McCain thinks and functions.
The Republicans are going to try and spin this, but it will not work! The republican brand is dead and Palin is going out with it....
How did Palin actually become the governor of Alaska - Alaska deserves better. Does she ever visit her office in the capitol or does she prefer to work at home - with a per diem no less. This is criminal and I suppose that the investigation is proceeding. McCain's biggest mistake in this entire campaign was selecting her to be his running mate without checking her credentials at all. All he knew is that she was rabid, a religious nutter, and an amateur politician. When did John start showing the first signs of his alzheimers?
"We took a gamble when we went to the personnel board," That seems to be a recurring theme in this campaign, take a gamble, roll the dice, as opposed to thinking things through and weighing consequences . It was a shoot from the hip move to pick Palin in the first place. He obviously did not think that decision through. Seeing the way the man is conducting his campaign, heaven help us if he won the presidency.
The McCain campaign suffers from a serious lack of principle and has conflicts up and down the line on most issues. Can voters really determine what McCain actually stands for on any given day?
How low can Palin go? She must be rated in accord with her ethics and expertise and on those bases she approaches ZERO.
Just think what we would have to look forward to if Palin makes it at VP. While this country is going down the tubes she will be loading up her office with her high school buddies who really have no experiences except to be friends with moose momma. Doesn't that remind you of the last 8 years. Hmmm, just wondering.
Sarah Palin is a traitor to America and to her party.

Palin And The Alaska Independence Party

As USUAL, the HATE MONGERING LYING SARAH PALIN continues her toxic diatribe blaming HER ABUSE OF POWER, intimidating and threatening subordinates under her administration for her JOE SIX PACK, LOW CLASS PERSONAL REASONS, on Barack Obama??!?!?!!
To see what having a typical JOE SIX PACK having the responsibility of LEADERSHIP take a view at OUR COUNTRY and the WORLD's FINANCES and STABILITY AND this USELESS CULTURE WAR IN IRAQ BLEEDING OUR HUMAN RESOURCES. HAVING a common, beer drinking, gun-toting fool leading this country for 8 years has plunged this nation into the worst, and most HORRIFYING FINANCIAL and WORLD MARKET CRISIS EVER KNOWN!!!!
MCCAIN and SARAH PALIN ARE
the DOMESTIC TERRORISTS
JOHN MCCAIN and SARAH PALIN have wreaked HATE MONGERING, and VIOLENT HATE SPEECHES and INEPT LEADERSHIP on the electorate. NEITHER OF THEM ARE FIT TO SERVE THIS NATION.
The investigation was whether she abused her powers in firing Monegan. THE REPORT FOUND:
"I find that, although Walt Monegan's refusal to fire Trooper Michael Wooten was notthe soel reason he was fired by Governor Sarah Palin, it was likely a ontributing factor to his termination as Commissioner of Public Safety. IN SPITE OF THAT, GOVERNOR PALIN'S FIRING OF COMMISSIONER MONEGAN WAS A PROPER AND LAWFUL EXERCISE OF HER CONSTITUTIONAL AND STATUTORY AUTHORITY TO HIRE AND FIRE EXECUTIVE BRANCH DEPARTMENT HEADS." (Report at 8, emphisis added).
Once that finding was made, the remaining findings, placed out of order for clearly political reasons, are nothing more than a fishing expedition , or rather, invistigator Sen. Hollis French's promised "October Surprise." ,
The report charges Sahara Palin with abuse on the grounds that she did not intervene to prevent Todd Palin from continuing to contact State officials regarding Trooper Wooten. [Report at 65-66] The problem with that conclusion is that she as Governor has no right to do so.
Todd Palin is a private citizen, and as a private citizen, he has a constitutionally protected right to petition the government, a right perhaps most recently spelled out in the Norr-Pennington doctrine. He does not lose that right of petition simply because he is the spouse of the Governor. He can access and petition any public official on any matter as often as he likes, just like any other citizen.
In fact, had Sahara Palin, as Governor, and thus a state actor, interfered with Todd Palin's right to petition, as the report suggests she should have, Todd Palin would have an open and shut case against the State of Alaska under Section 1983 for the violation of his civil rights, specifically his right to petition the government.
And as a practical matter, it was infact Mr. Monegan who asked Sahara Palin to have Todd speak for the family and control all involvement in the matter. [Report at 28 & 58]
Nowforthetruth, you are right that Todd Palin has the right as a private citizen to petition the government for anything, including urging them to investigate his former brother in law. No problem there. But here is what was wrong with the whole thing: Todd Palin was given access to government officials and he represented himself as an emissary of the Governor, not as a private citizen. Todd Palin was given confidential personnel information about Trooper Wooten that he had no right to know. This could land both him and the officials involved in jail, not to mention open to civil suits brought by Wooten. You are right that Commissioner Monegan told Sarah Palin that it was inappropriate for him to discuss the case with Sarah, since she was Governor and it was improper for her to interest herself in this matter, that it might come back to bite her in the butt. And it did. Deservedly so. Anyone who reads the report can see that Palin kept turning the screws to get Wooten fired, even after Wooten had been investigated and disciplined for all of the allegations she brought forth. It's over. He was investigated and punished. Plain didn't like the fact that he wasn't fired. Well, I don't like the way lots of judicial decisions are made. But once they are made, it's done. You can say you disagree, say it's not fair, but ultimately you have to get over it. Sarah can't accept this.
There is no indication he had access to officials was "given," or that he represented himself as an "emissary of the Governor" He is not responsible for what people may infer, or that they may treat him with deference. The documents are admittedly another matter, however the details of that , such as how he got access to them, are not discussed. Thus the finding is not supported on the evidence discussed, and is at best, premature.
The interesting question is why it is necessary to reach this conclusion in the first place, as the report found that there were other reasons why Monegan was removed, and that Palin had every right to do so. Having reached that conclusion, the rest appears a fishing expedition.
On October 10, the Alaska Legislative Council found Sarah Palin guilty of abusing power. Immediately Ms. Palin said "if you read the report you'll see that there was nothing unlawful or unethical about replacing a cabinet member." This quote by Palin is only 50% true. The Legislative Council report says that it was LEGAL for her to fire Commissioner Monegan, since as Governor she has the right to hire and fire her staff at will. The report also says that her firing of Commissioner Monegan was an UNETHICAL abuse of power.
Palin tells you half of the truth, and lies outright about the other half. You know the old saying: If you tell a lie, make sure it contains some truth so it will be believable.
From the report:
Palin tried to force the Commissioner to prosecute Trooper Wooten (her former brother in law) for illegally shooting a moose. The Commissioner explained to Palin that if they charged Wooten they would also have to bring charges against Palin's sister, who was present on the hunt, had the moose permit and illegally let her husband use it. They would also have to prosecute Palin's father, who cut up the moose and stored it in his freezer, sharing the meat with the Palin family. In other words, the Palins were OK with Wooten illegally shooting the moose when it happened. They participated in the hunt and kept the meat. But a year later when Wooten was divorcing Palin's sister, suddenly the Palins turned him in for illegally killing the moose.
The Palins turned Wooten in to the State Troopers disciplinary commission about a year and a half before she became Governor. The Troopers investigated Wooten, finding that some of Palin's allegations were true and some were false. The Troopers disciplined Wooten with a few days suspension. When Palin tried to get Monegan (the new Commissioner) to re-open the case once she was Governor, Monegan told her he couldn't do it. All the allegations had already been investigated and Palin had no new evidence. Trooper Wooten belongs to a union, and he can not be fired just because the Governor doesn't like him.
So, the Palins hired a private investigator to trail Wooten night and day, trying to catch him doing something wrong. The investigator takes photos of Wooten dropping his kids off at school, using his patrol car. The Plains file a complaint, saying it is illegal for him to ferry his kids in a patrol car. They try and get him fired for this, except it turns out that since Wooten was working a swing shift, his Commander had given him a waiver to bring his kids to school in the car. Wooten and Palin's sister have been divorced for 3 years, yet the Palins continue to persecute Wooten. Palin just can't forgive and get past this family drama.

Troopergate? Is that about calling the cops about the massive fraud ACORN did in registering the million of non-literate and homeless folks on welfare shooting hoops?
Dear Dave, being homeless and illiterate is not a crime. Unless you want to say that it is a crime that we have failed to educate our poor.
Being illiterate is NOT a reason a person can not vote. In fact, more than 50 years ago a sizeable portion of the US population could not read or write. However, they all voted (at least the white males did). The literacy laws were promulgated in the South as a way to make it so that blacks were not eligible to vote. These laws have all been struck down. This is a heinous aspect of our history. Thank God it is over.
