In a few weeks we will make a choice that will decide our future.
I follow an economist named Bob Proctor. He has called the top and bottom of every market crash since the 70s correctly.
Also, he perfectly predicted the current real estate market meltdown and the picture he paints about what will happen in the next couple years
is terrifying. He thinks it will be worse then the great depression.
The banks in the U.S. are going under one after the other. Countrywide ,Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch , Fanny and Freddy Mae ,AIG
The government took them over because they are essentially bankrupt. Even with the goverment nationalizing hundreds of billions of dollars in debt the stock market is crashing
the credit markets are frozen and all of us may suffer beyond anything in the last 80 years.
McCain just like Bush " doesn't understand the economy".
That not just my opinion its his own words. Not only does he not understand how to fix it but he does not understand exactly what is broken.
It is no surprise that he doesn't. The people that make up these securities use complex mathematical models very few people understand.
Bush and McCain both can take the credit for this mess since they helped deregulate the laws that were protecting us.
Bush's economic advisor Phil Graham wrote the deregulation bill that allowed banks to take huge risks with all of our future.
Now, Phil Graham is the head of McCain's economic policy. He is also McCain's choice for the next secretary of the treasury.
No one in this country can afford for that to happen. The last time Bush met with his economic advisors was in March. He didnt realize that anything was wrong. Phil Graham had the guts to say that we are in a mental recession after he helped create the worst economy meltdown in our lifetime. It will take the best and brightest minds in the world to get us out of this nightmare. As bad as Bush has done, McCain would be
even more destructive because things are in much worse shape. The next president will not inherit a surplus like Bush did but a crashing economy and a 11,600,000,000,000 (trillion) dollars deficit. Most of it Bush created and it will take decades to pay it back.
If you do what you have always done then you will get what you have always got.
When it comes to policy Bush and McCain are the same 90 percent of the time.
So why are the polls even close then ?
Mccains team just said they no longer want to talk about the economy.Instead they would like to spend time talking about obama
which means running the biggest smear campaign in history.
They think they can just tell you lies and you wont be smart enough to see through it
Let's teach him we are smarter than that .
    Elect Obama Biden 2008

I think all campaign television ads are uninformative and misleading. What can you learn about issues that have been debated for years in sixty seconds of a sound bite? You barely have time to go "my opponent sucks" before it cuts to a Downy commercial.

Comment: Open your eyes and ears McCain's and speeches sound more like General Bedford Forrest speehes he made during the mid to late 1860's The way the General instilled fear, paranoia and innuendo about the black man after the civil war McCain is using the same tactic against Obama today. He is trying to frighten the voters by using the same tactics in order to divide the country. McCain and his conservative followers must remember that this type of behavior will bring about hysteria and hatred. The tactic is a barberous and dangerous remendy for a real or fancied wrong. McCain and his followers are mentally ignorant and lack the ablility to think with logic and common sense when using the type of campaigning. This conduct should not be tolerated because it creates hysteria in the minds of those who lack the knowledge to apply common sense to remedy a wrong. Vote Obama

McCain and Palin can't sell their platform because even they realize that they have no substantive policies to present which differ significantly from those of the Bush years.

So instead they rely on instilling fear and hatred of somebody who is "different", a philosophy that is consistent with the history of the extreme right of the GOP. They are all about morality, but care nothing about ethics.

NEWS ALERT: McCain/Palin state American citizen worst terrorist!

With no mention of Osama Bin Laden or Al Qaeda, McCain/Palin have indicated that an American white man named Bill Ayers is "The Terrorist" of this era.

Incredibly, McCain/Palin believe that Bill Ayers has no redemptive value, while even Al Qaeda thinks that Osama Bin Laden does!?

The American people and the World are suppose to believe the an American white man is so vile and toxic that simply being near him makes you guilty of "palling around with terrorists."

These sentiments being advocated by McCain/Palin against another American citizen, in light of the acts Osama Bin Laden and Al Qaeda have committed against America, are truly reprehensible!

Further, McCain/Palin "must" be held accountable for their efforts to incite violence against Senator Obama at their rallies. Even people attending those rallies report that the atmosphere is xenophobic and racially tinged.

American has this unfettered hubris about not wanting to be warned when their actions are opening the proverbial Pandora's box, but there is a tsunami of "change" moving throughout America and the world and...

A month ago, 78% of Americans said current economic conditions were "getting worse," rather than better. By the time of the Treasury's proposal, 87% of Americans felt this way. Even with the president's signing of the Treasury's requested new emergency legislation, a record 90% of Americans now say the economy is "getting worse."

Negative Campaigning is but a poor attempt by a weak and fading Politican to make a final stand against his/her opponent in any election. Most wrongly believing that lying, deceit and misinformation will somehow win the day through such tactics has proven utterly wrong. Half-educated, poorly schooled and tutored "politicans" (in this case Sarah Palin who mispronunces proper names and places, albeit two persons out of the three in the debate, herself included, time and again properly pronounce the name of countries and places) who even refuse to learn on the spur of the moment (pronouncing names and places) is surely not the only individual ever available to "become" a Vice-President. I do not induce tha the elections are a farce or tha tthe elections would be rigged (again). I mean that this woman Palin is the epitome of being a feeble minded person; a person whose general knowledge could equal that of a sixth grader at worlld level. It is not the quality of education, it is the quality of the person involved in learning and desiring to know. Mrs. Palin has been coached into repeating some generic terminologies or some short sentences, perhaps for every question; a "political mantra" if you will. One can find other "intellectuals" like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mr. Michael Shlomo Weimer (he loves to be called Mike Savage), the self confessed suicide "attemptee" (on two occasions, we wish him success on his future attempt...may it be his last!) whose mother and brother committed suicide, Dr. Glen Beck, and several other cockamamies, peter-funks and rabble-rousers of society who are the special turors and guides for this woman who claims to be an expert in killing Moose, one of the most docile animals.

The problem with attack ads is they communicate and develop positions the nutcase's and the least intelligent can cling too as a "real" issue.
It appears even McCain has suddenly realized he has a base of nutcases who actually booed him when he tried to set the record straight.
It was these nutcases who elected Bush and then reeleted him.
It is interesting that negitive ads have a much older history than anyone realized, but the
Republicans of the last 40 years have taken it to an art form and now rely on election based on personality rather than the future of the country or the best interest of the voters themselfs..

    • Posted By: getAgripUSA @ 10/12/2008 11:34:57 AM

      Couldn't agree more!!
Until the US electoral process starts to focus more on the team behind the candidate the American people will continue to be making an uninformed decision based on smear and party lines rather than a credible, informed decision on substance of policy.
How many of Bush's Dept. heads are recycled from previous Rep. administrations? And what good have they achieved?

John McCain is a good man, who got carried away by ambition, bad people and bad decisions. I think his conscience is bothering him now, and makes him more appealing, and more the man I know him to be.

Sarah Palin may be smart, but she's not who you think she is. Sarah Palin is a traitor to America and to her party.

Speaking about Sarah "Ya Betcha" Palin... She's another tool, a stunt from McCain, a political calculation to supposedly bring votes from Hillary supporters (actually their beliefs are the opposite), feminists (even though she's far from the feminist ideology), and those independents who can be easily fooled or some Jerry Springer fans who don't pay attention to details and just see cute faces and are only capable of understanding keywords ("joe six-pack", "maverick", "hockey mom", "he doesn't share our values", "pallin' around", "job creation", "drill baby drill" etc). We have seen during the last weeks that she's not, and probably never be, ready to be President or VP. She can't even answer questions that my 14 year old niece can, she barely survived the debate by repeating lines that someone wrote for her, giving non-answers and dodging the questions. Moreover she is already involved in corruption, unethical behavior and abuse of power. We need someone above the average... she's intellectually just alright. We cannot afford a "just alright person" for the hard times ahead. McCain put his political calculations first, not our country! McCAIN SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER... SHAME ON HIM!
