I have no time for McCain. This elections two main choices for President are by far the poorest choices I've ever seen. But ,the comment made about those not liking Obama can move to another country should he win,,,,,,if Obama wins, we'll all wake up in another country and I'm afraid even those that voted for him aren't going to like it.

lauriesarno posted this comment: ???If Obama wins, maybe you should move to another country - perhaps a dictatorship like Burma, where there is no democracy and NO ONE gets anything - even handouts from the government.???
Laurie, if Obama wins, we very likely will be living under a dictatorship very soon. He is a radical socialist, who has long and extensive close ties to communists, terrorists, and criminals, and his policies are nothing but socialism. With him in the White House, and Nancy Pelosie, Harry Reid and other socialists running Congress, and with huge majorities in both houses of Congress, Obama the socialist will be able to do basically whatever he wants to do. The extreme left-wing of the Democratic Party has run the party for several years now, and their agenda is radical, anti-American, and socialist. They, like Obama, favor income redistribution, higher and higher taxes, a guge expansion of the welfare state, more and more abortions, selling out to the homosexual lobby, weakening our national defense, and more and more that is diametrically opposed to what America has always stood for and the values of most Americans.

Life says: you get back what you put out. I think it is a little late for a turnaround for McCain. He has had 20 months to think about what he wanted, but he chose to listen to what others wanted and now he realizes he made a grave error in his judgment in the selection of his team, again. Politics is a dirty business to be in, and, if you want to win, you cannot afford to give your energy away without forethought to the consequences down the road, and it's a long road. Each step and every action and re-action must be calculated; it's a fine line, but words and actions come back to haunt on this long road.

Obama, on the other hand, was accused early on that he did not re-act fast enough to what was said about him; but, he took the right attitude and kept himself on the straight and narrow and under control; he did not want to jeopardize his road ahead. He is much more conscious and aware than a lot of us believe him to be - his focus; mental organization; vision and his actions are indisputable; he has worked hard to maintain the grip on his emotions; and now, everything is paying off in a huge way.

There have been 12 Presidential elections that were decided by less than a 1% margin; meaning if less than 1% of the voters in certain states had changed their mind to the other candidate the outcome of the entire election would have been different.

That's why I strongly belive this could be a "Swing election to favor the Republican. The only news the voters are hearing from the media is all Pro Obama. I ahve talked to over 35 Democrats that said they are voting Republican as they said, "I don't trust him?

  • Posted By: skipster60 @ 10/12/2008 9:26:22 PM

I have been thorugh several Presidents and one definate "Swing Election" I sincerely bleive this will be a swing election because every Democrat I have talked to stated they are NOY voting ro Obama. I am only one person that has heard that from aprroximately 35 people. One being my wife, who is a teacher. She told me she would be voting Republican as she wold not want him in office. She said she does NOT trust him.

I still have a probelm with Obama constantly making what he calls, mis quotes, such as "Oh, I didn't mean that". That can be the most damaging statement as a President. "You NEVER get a second chance to make a good first impression.." His past contacts with Tony Rizo, Bill Ayers and countless others programs his personality and I believe he is showing a very phony. As the old saying goes, "Talk is cheap" I still think the most important question is "Who would you want answering the White House phone at 3 a.m. ?"

Obama was the only state senator to speak against Born Alive in the senate floor. There are pages and pages of documentation of his speeches. Read obama's actual rationale, from the IL General Assembly archives, for opposing Born Alive in 2001.

    http://www.ilga.gov/senate/transcripts

Obama, at the time, did not argue there was already another law in place (which is at any rate false. ). He did not argue that the state version would bear consequences to Roe v. Wade that the federal version did not. He argued not against the constitutionality of Born Alive. He argued simply against declaring abortion survivors legal persons.

The most telling debate Barack Obama ever had was not with John McCain but Patrick O'Malley, who served with Obama in the IL Senate and engaged Obama in a colloquy every American should read.

The Obama-O'Malley debate was a defining moment for Obama because it dealt with such a fundamental issue: The state's duty to protect the civil rights of the young and disabled....

Then-IL state Sen. Patrick O'Malley, whom I interviewed this week, contacted the state attorney general's office to see whether existing laws protected a newborn abortion-survivor's rights as a U.S. citizen. He was told they did not

O'Malley -- a lawyer, veteran lawmaker and colleague of Obama on the IL Senate Judiciary Committee -- drafted legislation.

In 2001, he introduced three bills. SB1093 said if a doctor performing an abortion believed there was a likelihood the baby would survive, another physician must be present "to assess the child's viability and provide medical care." SB1094 gave the parents, or a state-appointed guardian, the right to sue to protect the child's rights. SB1095 simply said a baby alive after "complete expulsion or extraction from its mother" would be considered a "'person, 'human being,' 'child' and 'individual.'"

The bills dealt exclusively with born children. "This legislation was about preventing conduct that allowed infanticide to take place in the state of IL," O'Malley told me.

The Judiciary Committee approved the bills with Obama in opposition. On March 31, 2001, they came up on the IL senate floor. Only one member spoke against them: Obama.

Isn't message control and repeatedly spewing the same lie over and over with the intent to destroy another's reputation, sway people's opinons, incite hatred, racism, and violence......isn't this PSYCHOLOGICAL WARFARE!!! This is tantamount to domestic terrorism. Mr. Schmidt......sorry, but It reeks of Rove!!
There is no place for this is a presidential campaign. Americans can smell Rove and his tactics from miles away and they will rise above it on election day.

  • Posted By: DUNIMUS1 @ 10/12/2008 8:39:40 PM

WIth Schmidt in charge, McCain could be running for dog catcher since the goal is not a thoughtful process of what is best for our country, but what is best for McCain to win. Where is the hero in that??

Ah Ha now it is called "message control"! I believe that back in 1937/39 it was called Propaganda and the earliest exponent of that technique was one, Joseph Goebbels, who stated to his minions that a lie, repeated often, enough, becomes accepted as truth. The Oxford English dictionary defines Fascism as an authoritarian and nationalistic right-wing system of government - seems like they got it right!

Could you even imagine a candidate running for president 10 yrs. ago who refuses to wear an american flag pin or refuses to salute when the national anthem is playing. I have never seen such defiance in my life, and Im appauled that he is still running. People need to wake up and see whats happening here. Read this ...........

The last true democrats were Roosevelt, Truman, and Kennedy. Today the Democratic Party has become taken over by distorted closet socialists. These socialists are very powerful rich people that only represent a small group who control all the communication puppet strings. These socialists have strategically infiltrated the media and Hollywood, because they know controlling communication fuels their cause with strategic and specifically directed propaganda. This propaganda targeted communications, inspiring people with an evolving message key to socialistic successes. Human behavior has no natural defense against this strategy. We are witnessing these socialist phenomenons today. Our republic is in great danger, socialistic governments don't work, and history is full of countless examples of this fact. The socialistic government makes a few people powerful and the rest left over must pay for this power. You and I will fund their power, and we will have no choice, ???taxation without representation??? becomes the accepted normality, welcome to the Obama new world order.

And Ayers aside -- what about Obama's nice, cozy family?? Obama's sister-in-law is the niece of Mohammad Taha, who is the Hamas leader in the Gaza Strip and the head of the militant branch of Hamas that has a controlling part in the Al Aqsa Mosque red Brigade and is the one who orders the firing of rockets into Isreal.

The media has already decided that they have the right to not report news, but to actually engage in one-sided, brainwashing tactics to endorse a "love affair" with Obama........and completely disregard the objectiveness they should give to all news. Shame on you!!!!!!
Why cann't you just be honorable, and report fairly----news, just news, and let people make up their own minds without your egotistical and obvious liberal slant to things?
