I look at McCain this way, he is too old and his running mate is persay/ a gun toting. then invite the terrorist over for cookies type... hes not worth going to the polls...
Obama? hes a soothsayer, he rallies people making them feel there is hope when he cannot offer experience nor true hope .. not worth a vote...
Its scary, but then this country has through the years turned its back on God, and so the blessings are leaving and being replaced by troubles galore, Wall St. etc..
Motivational speaker/ Obama. or elderly man?

The Rebublican Party, of which I had been a member, has become nothing more than a hate mongering, war mongering, fear mongering bunch of propagandists catering to the lowest common denominator in our society which, thanks to our failing education system, seems to be rapidly growing. Look at the comprehensive disaster of the past 8 years and look at the selection of Palin for Vice Presidential candidate and the race that is being run by the Republicans - again. How could this happen? Very sad and very frightening.

This happened because you and I and most of the people who are decent rational and reasonable did not stand up against the radical operators who took over both parties. The majority of this country is in the middle, or close to it. There is a need for a middle of the road liberal party (for the lack of a better name) that would provide home for both you and me and the majority of Americans.

Enter Your CommentThe shortest distance between to point s is a straight line. McCain does not seem to realize this and it is becoming increasingly difficult to support a candidate who can???t support himself.
McCain decided that a hard look at Barrack Obama???s character, values, and beliefs was in order, and has called into question Obama???s relationships. But as soon as he gets some flak about this approach, instead of flying thru it, he begins to retreat from the field of battle.
To ask me to ???respect??? a man I have little respect for is simply asking to much of me and others that are getting increasing frustrated about McCain is throwing away opportunity after opportunity. I don???t agree with hate talk. McCain could have expressed how this kind energy and language is both inappropriate and pulls down the campaign rather than lifts it ups. He could have said that we can chose to sink to the level of Daily Kos Bloggers who so viciously attacked Sarah Palin, and chose to focus to put our energy into doing all the things that need to be done to win in November. He could have called on the upset supporters to stand up and take positive action, then outlined how they could.
Instead he asks us ???to respect??? Obama. We have a right to know about Barrack Hussein Obama, his beliefs, values, vision, and judgement. The media has not vetted Obama and his relationships, which all have the common thread of exteme liberalism and in some case even a radical, hateful view of America. Sarah Palin has started a discourse, but McCain, like all the media, is allowing Obama to now control the conversation. McCain is slowly proving he does not know how to win a war. If he will let an enemy control the time and place, and weapons of battle in this campaign, how can we expect him to stand up to Russia as she enters into partnerships in the Caribbean?

No matter what McCain choses someone will find fault with it. It is time for McCain to become the Commander in Chief he says he is. Otherwise, save us some time and money and concede.

More & more it seems that many Americans will like lies and gossip instead of facts: they will change what-
ever non-republicans would state and they will even assure that other candidates are not citizens, are not
believers nor fighting for America. Interestingly, Republicans had proven over the last 8 years they do not
have any regards for the US (and others) and right now, in order to stay in power, they will try anything, which
really means anything nasty. How in the heck we got that down?

McCain is the ONLY VOICE OF REASON and ACCOUNTABILITY...If anyone questions his love of this country...I would suggest that you watch the movie "FAITH OF MY FATHERS". I is a wonderful autiobiography of his life and especially the time he spend as a POW in Vietnam.....HIS DEDICATION and HONOR is absolutely inspiring..I thought these types only existed on the silver screen and starred people like JOHN WAYNE....THis guy is the REAL DEAL...he loves this nation more than LIFE and GOD bless the man, who has faced such hardship and keeps on trying to find ways to serve his nation...PATRIOTISM...McCain '08

McCain has said he'd rather lose an election than his honor. Thanks to Schmidt, he's losing both.

Palin gets caught trying to smear Obama with lies yet again.

Last week Palin said Obama, on his summer tour, told Iraq to delay their decision on the Status of Forces Agreement, being crafted by the U.S. and Iraq, until later. She tried to make it look terrible that Obama was interfering in official U.S. business.

In response to a CNN investigation, the Iraqi Foreign Minister said multiple times that WHAT PALIN SAID was COMPLETELY FALSE and that Obama never asked Iraq to delay ANY agreement.

There is no defense of Palin for this. She got caught telling yet another bald face lie in an attempt to smear Obama.

Her Troopergate verdict is all about her abusing power and lying.

After this new lie and all her lying and firing of people who did NOT kiss up to her in Alaska, how can anybody possibly think this cunning, vindictive woman possesses the moral and ethical standards, not to mention knowledge and ability, to be Vice President of the United States.

About all she does for the McCain campaign is spew hate, incite unrest, and tell lies.

Why cannot the McCain campaign just be truthful?

    Time to say enough.

    Despicable.

That's the only word I can use to describe John McCain and Sarah Palin's latest strategy. Namely, their decision to attack Obama by ridiculing his middle name. According to Palin, Hussein = terrorist = Muslim.

Understandably, as a native of Wasilla, Alaska, Palin does not know much about the rest of the world. Therefore, she does not understand that Hussein is not an strange or exotic name. In fact, if you used Google and traced the origin of that name, you'd know that Hussein means both good and handsome. It's no small wonder, then, that Hussein is one of the most common names in world.

In fact, Hussein was the surname of one of my students a wonderful, diligent, graceful young lady. Her father, Mr. Hussein, was a concerned, loving, supportive parent who often checked in with me to find out his daughter was doing in my class. As a public employee, I do not know anything about Mr. Hussein's religious beliefs. However, if I were apply the precepts of the Book of James in the Bible, which measures faith by works, I have to say Mr. Hussein's religious beliefs (or lack thereof) were far more worthy of God that the superstitious nonsense spewed from the pulpit of the Wasilla Assembly of God that produced an ignorant bigot like Sarah Palin.

Beyond maligning people's names, Palin and McCain are attacking the loyalty and patriotism of millions of American Muslims, some of whom are serving our country in Iraq and Afghanistan. The anti-Islamic fervor of Palin's campaign reminds me of the anti-Semitism of Central Europe in the 1930's. And increasingly, a McCain rally reminds me of a cross-burning lynch mob of Ku Klux Klan, and probably attracts its share of Klansmen as well. No one is safe. From attacking Muslims, it will be easy to attack Latinos, African-Americans, Jews, gays... any one who is noit "an American like the rest of us."

McCain and Palin are anti-American. They are assaulting the very principles and ideals that this country represents. They are a disgrace to America. Every member of the Republican party, as well as their apologists in the media, should hang their heads in shame.

In a few weeks we will make a choice that will decide our future.
I follow an economist named Bob Proctor. He has called the top and bottom of every market crash since the 70s correctly.
Also, he perfectly predicted the current real estate market meltdown and the picture he paints about what will happen in the next couple years
is terrifying. He thinks it will be worse then the great depression.
The banks in the U.S. are going under one after the other. Countrywide ,Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch , Fanny and Freddy Mae ,AIG
The government took them over because they are essentially bankrupt. Even with the goverment nationalizing hundreds of billions of dollars in debt the stock market is crashing
the credit markets are frozen and all of us may suffer beyond anything in the last 80 years.
McCain just like Bush " doesn't understand the economy".
That not just my opinion its his own words. Not only does he not understand how to fix it but he does not understand exactly what is broken.
It is no surprise that he doesn't. The people that make up these securities use complex mathematical models very few people understand.
Bush and McCain both can take the credit for this mess since they helped deregulate the laws that were protecting us.
Bush's economic advisor Phil Graham wrote the deregulation bill that allowed banks to take huge risks with all of our future.
Now, Phil Graham is the head of McCain's economic policy. He is also McCain's choice for the next secretary of the treasury.
No one in this country can afford for that to happen. The last time Bush met with his economic advisors was in March. He didnt realize that anything was wrong. Phil Graham had the guts to say that we are in a mental recession after he helped create the worst economy meltdown in our lifetime. It will take the best and brightest minds in the world to get us out of this nightmare. As bad as Bush has done, McCain would be
even more destructive because things are in much worse shape. The next president will not inherit a surplus like Bush did but a crashing economy and a 11,600,000,000,000 (trillion) dollars deficit. Most of it Bush created and it will take decades to pay it back.
If you do what you have always done then you will get what you have always got.
When it comes to policy Bush and McCain are the same 90 percent of the time.
So why are the polls even close then ?
Mccains team just said they no longer want to talk about the economy.Instead they would like to spend time talking about obama
which means running the biggest smear campaign in history.
They think they can just tell you lies and you wont be smart enough to see through it
Let's teach him we are smarter than that .

Obama no experience?????? He has already moved mountains with his ability to communicate and not shove the American people to the side like Mr Bush...The people who say he has no experience want this country to stay stuck in the hell it's in now under Mr Bush.

It is interesting to consider what a positive campaign would have done for McCain, where he could have discussed his accomplishments and shown his ability to work with both parties. A respectable vp (a republican biden type) and he probably would've won- showing his experience and identifying that America needs experience to get out of this current mess. He may have pulled off a victory on election day- He would've gotten my vote- a conservative democrat.

Instead Schmidt steers him to Palin, who only really appeals to the base (who were already going to vote for him).

McCain has been terribly mismanaged- and it will cost him the Presidency.

If people would only look past the black and see the man for what he is...an inexperienced inttelectual...If Barak Obama wasn't Black, do you really believe he would be the Democratic candidate?? Hillary would be running and I'm not sure it would even be a race...but at least it would be an honest race. In that I mean the voters would be voting for the best person, perhaps still a little gender biasis would be evident, but Hillary has the experience, and that is very hard for a person who hates with a passion the shame and embarassment the Clinton name has brought to our country, but it is true. Hillary is solid in her beliefs and was just getting to the point she realized she didn't need Bill to make it...then gets sidelined by her black supporters, who can't possibly believe Barak Obama is more qualified, it's just that he's black. I am not impressed with Obama's choice of friends or advisors, which are another reason I dont' think I could vote for him at any time...too many advisors who are linked to the wrong kind of people...pakistani's running his internet campaign, muslims being his top advisor, yet he denies he's muslim...the three guys most responsible for the stock market crash...his economic advisors...not to mention rev. wright and farakan...just too many bad guys for me....but, if he is elected, I will do my best to support my president...and defend it against all enemies, as I took an oath to do that and as a veteran, that oath stays true...poet1951

Thank you, Wendy, for bringing Sarah Palin's disturbing track record and ongoing close relationship with secessionist extremists to readers' attention, most especially Mark Chryson, the Chairman of the Alaska Independence Party. Now we know where the reckless pit bull learned her disgusting tricks; Chryson boasted that he and his allies urged Palin to focus her campaign on slashing character-based attacks and her 1996 campaign for mayor was the most negative Wasilla residents had ever witnessed. "I watched that campaign unfold, bringing a level of slime our community hadn't seen until then," recalled Phil Munger, a local music teacher. No need to search for understanding as to why the McCain-Palin rallies suddenly turned into hate-filled lie-based attacks on Obama's character and ugly race-baiting.

According to an article in the Anchorage Daily News; "During the 1990s, when Chryson directed the AIP, he and another radical right-winger, Steve Stoll, played a quiet but pivotal role in electing Palin as mayor of Wasilla and shaping her political agenda afterward....Palin backed Chryson as he successfully advanced a host of anti-tax, pro-gun initiatives, including one that altered the state Constitution's language to better facilitate the formation of anti-government militias. She joined in their vendetta against several local officials they disliked....In Wasilla, the AIP became powerful by proxy -- because of Chryson and Stoll's alliance with Sarah Palin...Chryson and Stoll viewed Palin's ascendancy as a vehicle for their own political ambitions. Dexter Clark, Vice Chairman of AIP, said of Palin ""She was a member [of the AIP] when she was mayor of a small town, that was a nonpartisan job. But to get along and to go along she switched to the Republican Party ." Now, THAT's a little secret Palin hasn't yet shared.
      http://www.salon.com/news/feature/2008/10/10/palin_chryson/print.html

Steve Schmidt should be sent to Guantanamo Bay for forcing McCain to take on Palin as VP.

Um, The Palin investigation was about whether she abused her powers in firing Monegan. THE REPORT FOUND:

"I find that, although Walt Monegan's refusal to fire Trooper Michael Wooten was not the sole reason he was fired by Governor Sarah Palin, it was likely a contributing factor to his termination as Commissioner of Public Safety. IN SPITE OF THAT, GOVERNOR PALIN'S FIRING OF COMMISSIONER MONEGAN WAS A PROPER AND LAWFUL EXERCISE OF HER CONSTITUTIONAL AND STATUTORY AUTHORITY TO HIRE AND FIRE EXECUTIVE BRANCH DEPARTMENT HEADS." (Report at 8, emphasis added).

Once that finding was made, the remaining findings, placed out of order for clearly political reasons, are nothing more than a fishing expedition , or rather, investigator Sen. Hollis French's promised "October Surprise." ,

Nowfortheobfuscation, are you dense or purposefully trying to play a version of sleight of hand? The purpose of the Troopergate investigation was never to determine whether she abused her powers in firing Monegan. He's an at-will employee who serves at the Governor's pleasure. Nice try. From now on, get your news from someplace other than Fox.

The purpose of the investigation was clearly whether she abused her powers by PRESSURING SUBORDINATE STAFF to fire HER EX-BROTHER-IN-LAW, who is not an at-will employee (he's a union man). Newsflash, she DID abuse her power. Sorry for the interruption. You may now return to whatever Hannity and O'Reilly are screaming about on Faux Noise.

Heres an example of "Americanism" from those who claim "country first!"
So theres no prize for the noble loser- tell that to the citizens of the US after they picking George W for president! So this may be our next president?

Scream and yells hail from their crowds...

    ???Kill him!???
    ???Terrorist!???

Yet no from the podium, including McCain says a word to pacify the hatred, the evil that is spewed!

They in fact offer the use of wireless microphones to the hateful crowds- "tell us how you feel!"

They smile they welcome such disgust such loathing! They thrive on it!

Are these leaders of the free world? Are these intelligent and benevolent people that we want our children to follow and learn from? They act like political harlots, would be Christians that are no where
near what I as a Christian would acknowledge as Christian!

    ???Kill him???
Their eyes light up, their teeth grind and then sparkle!

Look up the word ???fascist???- you will find their definition there!
