Guilt by association, using the republican's litmus test against Ayers I guess McCain pals around with right-wing extremists, racists and anti-Semites according to this article. If the republican want to attack character lets attack character until they decide to stick to the REAL issues.

AS REPUBLICANS continue to hammer at Barack Obama's association with former urban guerrilla William Ayres, Democrats want more scrutiny of John McCain's relationship with a shadowy group that was involved in the 1980s Iran-Contra scandal.

That scandal broke after it emerged that Ronald Reagan's White House had funded the right-wing Contra rebels trying to overthrow Nicaragua's Sandinista government by selling arms to Iran.

McCain has acknowledged that, as a freshman congressman in the early 1980s, he served on the board of the US Council for World Freedom, which helped the Contras.

The council was founded by retired general John Singlaub as the US branch of the World Anti-Communist League, an ultra-conservative body that billed itself as a supporter of "pro-Democratic resistance movements fighting communist totalitarianism" but was accused of harbouring right-wing extremists, racists and anti-Semites.

I'm happy that McCain is pulling back from the personal attacks but I think his republican mouth pieces should follow suit before we REALLY start to dig into McCain's past, I would love to start squeezing what he loves most his POW status. I would start with why he wasn't interested in rescuing the POW's that were left in Vietnam. He had 5-9 POW's at the convention to collaborate is image as a war hero, there are FAR more that do NOT (like the army sergeant that was carried out of the republican convention).

The POW card opened doors and allow him to berate families that had concerns about their loved ones LEFT in Vietnam. Why, I feel so the Vietnamese would hold up their end of the bargain and keep McCain's secret.

Senator Obama has the divine full favor of GOD all around him, he is well protected from anyone. Those of you who oppose and are against need to wake up and smell the coffee. We do not need another 8 years of the McCann/Bush messups. Roland Martin is right, if GOD wants Obama to be the president he will be the president. Contrary to belief, God is still the ruler and in charge of this world. So, I suggest, those of you who are against Senator Obama straighten up and get your act in order. God raises up rulers and brings them down--so He can accomplish His purpose whichever is President. Obama claims he is Christian. A follower or Christ (one belonging to Christ) would never believe the opposite of Christ on Gays and Lesbians--read Romans 1st chapter. Twenty years as a Christian and he does not know this? Biden a Catholic for many years and he does not know this. Do you read or do you just believe what someone tells you. Words are not always believable. A lot of people have a lot of hot air and seek place--not a place. There is a saying "Windy from the Windy City".

In this election many people have brought up the contention that one issue should not be pre-eminent above what they consider to

be equally valid other issues when it comes to making a decision about whom the vote for. I disagree.


In the election of 1860, the issue which trumped all others, when you get down to it, was SLAVERY. There were other ancillary issues

but this particular one superseded all others. Had Lincoln lost this evil institution would have continued on for many, many more years.

In early 1930???s Germany, the issue was the RACISM of Hitler and the Nazi party. If only the German people had seen what was coming?



The most impressive thing I have heard when it comes to the abortion issue is the testimony that I know of from young women who decided

to give birth rather than abort because of a priest or minister speaking about about the sanctity of life. Lives can be saved now!



Representative Chris Smith(a Catholic) from New Jersey has a very grim prognosis of what a President Obama would mean for the Pro-Life movement.
He said it would mean a complete reversal of all the gains and legislative accomplishments the movement has gained over these many years
and even referred to it as the ???Waterloo??? of the pro-life movement. We need many prayers and sacrifices.
