It's a sad commentary when an article like this has no postings after being in Newsweek on-line for a few days. I was not planning to attend this opera until I read this great review. Now, as soon as it comes to Denver I will get my orchestra seats first! I wish that the arts, beauty and the lyricism and grandeure of life were more at the forefront of people's minds than they are right now. What a great stress-reliever it is to indulge in something like this, even for a few moments. I sure hope that others will post messages. It would be so nice if someone who actually attended the premiere would write a few comments.

Music... breathtaking. Staging... interesting, but avant-conventional. Libretto... atrocious.

My husband and I are going tonight. We've listened to the opera and are looking forward to tonight's performance. I'll follow up with a comment after the show.

In the weariness I'd like to be...

    I love to
    walk in the
    garden with
    a lot of portraits,
    recalling a blackbird
    and always
    describing a little
    emotion.
