You have bad-mouthed the male (especially white) to the point where either he has lost confidence or could not care less. This is all to the detriment of the female, who does not want to marry a weak male. What ever happened to the children of the 60 generation feminists- I thought they were going to bring up a generation of sensitive progressive males.

Guess what! you raised boys who will remain boys the rest of their lives. Good luck. Thank God for strong caring men especially the GREATEST generation

The greatest generation has yet to come

I think that once mail-in early voting becomes the norm across the country, voter participation will go way up. I, my wife, and my entire immediate family all voted early by mail-in ballots (despite the best efforts of the state Republican party to stop it in Ohio).

      Voter fraud will also increase

Vote?/! Vote for what? Vote for a so called Maverick that has already sold out or, vote for that talking head that has never had a job. Let me see, the last time...Little George or John "I want to be a hippie" Kerry or, Little George or Little Al, I am a robot for momma Pauline.

For a guy to say what he thinks or, take any kind of stand is social and private life suicide. Just ask "Joe the Plumber"; I bet he wishes he kept his mouth shut when the bubbleheaded news media jumped his ***. A smart guy will keep his mouth shut, pay as little taxes as he can, go to work and prays that the efforts of a lifetime, perhaps generations is not taken away for those who do not work, a corrupt stock market, dead beat social programs, and the rest of the ticks that suck the life out of the Republic. Everyone just shut-up and do whatever that super-smart guy Keith "I cannot duck when I get in a Car" Oberbearing on NBC says we miss guided masses should do....

Yep, we are just to dumb. Next time......maybe we should not show up for work, not fight the wars, stop providing for the wife and kids, stop paying taxes, and.....burn the house before the foreclosure and shoot a few politicians.....maybe a little blood in the street will go along way. You know, just how those real smart people in Kenya run/"represent" a nation and its people. Yeah, like that talking head......

Voting takes 2 hours; and it happens while you work..... As a rough estimate it will cost me $ 93.00 to perform the task(s). Sorry, I do have the time, nor, the devalued money to waste....

Men tend to be practical, perhaps efficient would be a better word. There haven't been many elections in the our lifetime that mattered much. Even with the huge contrast in personality and beliefs between Obama and McCain, is it true that one of them will preside over a different world than the other? We talk about the president like he is a medieval king. 'Bush has ruined America..." Really? Has he ruled by decree? We have a balance of powers, designed to diminish extreme views and actions. So the extreme views of a president can't really set the course of the nation without being tempered and approved by Congress and the Supreme Court. I think most men, especially older men, see this reality. The highest suicide rate in America is among men 50 and older. That depression and despair is coming from a society that feels free to attack older men as oppressors. Why would these men risk expressing their opinion when it's going to be met with hostility? What will they get out of it? While I can understand the self preservation of my peers, I'll be voting for John McCain because I believe him, and I'll be telling anyone who will listen that Barack Obama is not who he says he is.

After a brilliant comment, you ended it poorly. Talk about weak men. Bush killed America, and had Mccain's support 90% of the time. What's gonna be different with Mcbush's policy? how did Mcbush destroy the US economy? by constantly falsifying their security reports and spending gazillions of $$$ in DICK Cherney's favor.

I don't really care about the personal virtues of Obama or McCain. I voted for Obama because of the policies he espouses. All I expect from him is that he work toward implementing those policies, recognizing the dismal budgetary options before him. As for McCain, he is well known for changing his positions from one week to the next, in and out of the Senate. So which McCain do you believe in?

      Checks and Balances?
How about thousands of Signing Statements, A Unitary Executive theory, and a Suspension of the Constitution.

I don't know if a decline in the number of male voters is to blame, but it seems a lot more voters today decide their votes based on charisma or personality or resume, when what is crucial to the average citizen is the policy positions upheld by the competing candidates, assuming they work to enact those policies. So-called values issues are just smoke-screens that demagogues hide behind.

I think that more women are used to multitasking. Adding voting to the list of things to do is just no big deal for women.
