Amen! The media dropped the ball on both elections of "W" and the whopper- The Iraq War.
Now the media is finally doing their job scrutinizing the neocons, the party responsible for the current state of our union! Maybe there is hope?
It amazes me how the media go after John McCain. It was the Obama campaign that succeeded in doing the impossible - portraying both Hillary and Bill Clinton as racists. The Obama campaign willingly has placed the race card. The Obama campaign runs commercials telling voters McCain is against stem cell research which is totally false and that if McCain wins twenty million Americans will lose their health care coverage - also totally false.
McCain is criticized because he mentions Obama's ties to William Ayers even though Obama chose to kick off his campaign for Senator at the home of a man who said on 911 he regretted he did not bomb more. Obama sat in a church for twenty years listening to his pastor condemn America and Jews and kept silent. What does this say about Obama's judgement and character?

Nice post Omaar- keep it up! Its obvious that neoconservative theology has run its course.
The irony is that the Neocons have no one more to blame than "W," his actions and his administration!
David Letterman biased? No way!!! LMAO So he threw Obama softballs to help him when Obama was on the show. And brings out Roger Clemans for McCain to help Obama. Seems he was alot more interested in the questions that give Obama a boost then the questions that would've helped the public/voters know what McCain was about and what you can expect from his presidency. Seems the ONLY unbiased reporter out there these days is Sean Hannities co-reporter Colmes. Very refreshing to watch someone without a completely biased view of the race. Keep up the good work Colmes. Your the last reporter standing at this point.
You voted for Bush- now you tell us to vote for Mccain!
Thanks for nothing!
As far as Bush is concerned. The other option was a guy who thinks he invented the internet. Now Unfortunately, the other option is a guy who is enacting Affirmative Action pt2. Holding the rich white people down didn't do much in the last 40 yrs so now he intends to tax the shyt outta my savings so I have no nest egg in the future. Guess I should start wearing $150 nikes instead of saving for the future huh? That way I can have those $150 Nikes and someone can give me your savings. Me, I'm buying a Cadillac, throwing some $5000 rims on it, another $3000 for my BASS system. And have the nerve to claim total poverty so that my food, insurance, housing, and let's not forget I'll file for Social Security at 31 for myself and my kids. Working mans a moron. I'm going with the side rewarded for doing nothing to better themselves.
I have watched Letterman from the very beginning. Once every couple years I watch the tape of his very first show with Bill Murray. One of my favorite pictures of my daugther is when she was a baby and I am wearing a "Late Night" shirt. I used to love David Letterman.
However, over the few months, I have rarely watch. It is sickening how one sided his posistion on the presidency is and Thursday nights interrview 110% confirmed my feelings.
I am voting for McCaine because I dislike him less than Obama. I was a Romney supporte. However, the media rallied against him at the same time they pushed for McCaine. It is now obvious that they wanted the Democrats to run against a weaker candidate and that is what is happening.
When Obama was Late Night, I swear you could not hear 1/2 of David Letterman's praises for the Senator cause his head was so far up Obama's ass. There was not one pertinent or pointed question, Just like the entire media, Dave's questions were more praiseful comments than probing questions.
Nothing about his true inviolvement with Acorn and their partial responsibility to the housing crisis. No Rezko or Rev. Wright. God forbid some questions about campaigning Obama did in Kenya in support of his cousin Odinka, whose platform was to inact Sharia law if elected President. Dave could have pressed him to comment on the violence that Odinka incited after his lose. Violence that resulted in close to a thousand deaths, many by machetes.
Dave instead pushed McCaine into talkingabout about Ayers. I have watched it twice and McCaine tried to steer clear of the topic. But Dave pushed him into talking about just so he could brilliantly ask McCaine about Gordon Liddy. Waht a douche, Dave. Ayers and his group the Weatherman tried to blow up and kill American citizens. They targeted symbols of America and sights like the Pentagon. Liddy targeted people like Ayers but none the less was prosecuted.
Anyway, I was going to send my Late Nightshirt back to Dave. But, it has too much sentimental values.
Values?
Paul / California
Hey Paul you state you were for Romney- he lost do you really know why? But now youll vote for the same theology that ousted Romney beacuse he is from the church of the L.D.S.- they said he wasnt a true Christian Paul!
Look up the hypocrisy, then youll find the definition of the GOP!
Main stream 'journalists' have no sense of shame and including this one. When will you stop pandering to Obama?
Pandering to Obama? McCain and SHALLOW PALIN are leading klan rallies even to this day and the MSM won't pick it up. Not a word on troopergate report, Todd palin's sessionist history, no demand of Palin's interviews and her inciting the klan etc...The Republican ticker is running the most sleazy campaign ever in American history and the press tries to cover for the ticket. So who is the media pandering here?
Is this for real, or another SNL put-on?
McCain and Palin have based their campain on the sound bite and the idea that if you tell a lie often enough and loud enough people will accept it as truth. Sadly this appears to be some what true. The whole Joe the plumber thing is a perfect example. I have gone online and watched the exchange between Obama and good old Joe several times. Obama spent a good deal of time explaining his tax plan to Joe and how america and Joe would benifit from it. By the end of the confersation Obama acknowledged that if everything Joe said was acurate yes his taxes would go up about 3%. But to hear McCain and his running mate talk you would think Joe asked his question and Obama responded Oh yeah! I'm going to spread your wealth around. End of conversation. I am a texas resident and a God fearing and Christ loving christian. I fully expect to vote strait ticket democrat this year. I think anyone considering themselves the religious right and still voting republican should read the ten camandments. particularly thou shall have no other gods before me. Because with the shape america and the world are in today you have put your faith in somethig other than God.
So... You're voting for the "better choice" who's thought process left late term abortion children "born alive" to die on a closet shelf because to give those children aid would weaken Roe v. Wade?
You either have a confused thought process, or your story of "recognition" is (once again) an obvious Liberal plant.
I know McCains intent is to alienate as many Obama and undecided voters as possible with his whole campaign now devoted to a message about Ayers,
Well he certainly has alienated me big time; I now have no qualms calling McCain a scumbag, this is exactly the kind of Republican propaganda that convinced people that Iraq had something to do with 9/11 and we need a President who tells it like it is, not one who communicates via the propaganda machine.
Again the laughable argument around Iraq and 9/11...
In the late 90's President Clinto called Iraq a real threat to the safety of the world under Saddam and called for regime change in no uncertain terms. Clinton told both the Military Chiefs of Staff as well as the American people that Saddam had, and would use weapons of mass destruction.
President Clinton has also saidf that he too tried to reign in the Democrats in regards to Fannie and Freddie without success.
With all the Liberal smoke being blown around, no wonder so many are seeing them as being a cancer.
Wonder if will be called voter suppression by the Dims if we do not allow Mickey Mouse's vote to be counted for Obama?
To me this says more about what a guy and his party will do to "win". They are a party that works now and during the past 8 years in dividing groups by class and race. They use code words and when caught deny their actions and as stated the "impact of their own words".
Letterman did the job of what a true reporter should be doing, calling him out on his statements and there truth. I used to like McCain, but not the McCain I am seeing during the past few months. My vote goes to Obama who has had the class to try to stay above this mud and evil and dangerous false allegations.
Yet when caught he says I disavow it, then continues to do the same, recent case the Robo calls stating the same lies as he and Palin have stated in their speeches.
We as a country deserve better. What is it about my Republican party that has turned it into an angry group of white people who never really have anything positive to say about this state of this country? Well they have been running the country for most of the past 27 years.
My son said to me dad compare the last 8 years to the previous eight years in any category you want, we are not better off today and that is why he is also changed to vote for Obama, and asked me to do so also, or I would be condoning these tactics.
McCain deserves to loss on basic decency and principles. He has said nothing for two months but bash Obama personally. Where are his ideas to move this country forward?
Any real details, ???Country First??? is a slogan says nothing of what he plans to do.
He only plan is to play to white people fears, and what do they really have to fear? It all in there heads, look around this current group in 8 years as almost destroyed this country, the middle class and they fear Obama?
Hopefully enough ???normal??? people will vote and the 23% of the hardcore right (Bush???s current rating) can have their say, but this group should not and does not represent this country or ???Normal??? Republicans for that matter.
Dave did a great job and moved me to make a tough change and go for Obama.

Mccain's Campaign Mgr, is a Lobbyist for Freddie & Fannie Mac.

McCain was at a [Acorn Rally In 2006] Google A!! Hole !!! Research
General Patraeus: Says that he does not think, He'll ever use the Term [Victory] when Describing Iraq.
McCain said that Obama was Un-Patriotic for not using the Term [Victory]
Question: Is Gen. Patraeus a Un-Patriotic General, as McCain has Described Obama ?
General Patraeus has also stated, "The Iraq War is not a [Victory Slogan] and that its not like taking a Hill, planting a Flag and coming Home to a Victory Parade"
i Guess Patraeus & Barack Obama know something that John McCain, does not, about the ongoing War in Iraq..Huh
Anyway, The Iraq War is coming to an END and it will be signed by President Bush and Maliki, for our Troops Exit in [2011]
The Time Horizon of Withdrawal is in Line with Barack Obama's Timeline of Withdrawal.
McCain is Too Damn Old...Period an out of Touch.
Conservative Talk Radio Host [Endorses Obama]
Note: The National Polls, The Electoral Map and Sunday, Colin Powell will [Endorse Obama] and Several Repuican Conservatives have also Jumped Ship and Endorsed Obama.
On Friday, [2 Dependable Conservative] organs backed Democrat Barack Obama for president.
First, Philadelphia talk radio host Michael Smerconish:
On his talk show on WPHT today, conservative Philadelphian Michael Smerconish endorsed Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill.
Smerconish did so by reading a couple paragraphs from his pending op-ed in the Philadelphia Inquirer.
"I've decided," he said. "My conclusion comes after reading the candidates' memoirs and campaign platforms, attending both party conventions, interviewing both men multiple times, and watching all primary and general election debates.
"John McCain is an honorable man who has served his country well. But he will not get my vote. For the first time since registering as a Republican 28 years ago, I'm voting for a Democrat for president.
"I may have been an appointee in the George H.W. Bush administration, and master of ceremonies for George W. Bush in 2004, but last Saturday I stood amidst the crowd at an Obama event in North Philadelphia," says the Republican.
Then, the Chicago Tribune, a newspaper that has not endorsed a Democrat for president since it was founded in 1847, followed suit. From their editorial:
Many Americans say they're uneasy about Obama. He's pretty new to them.
We can provide some assurance. We have known Obama since he entered politics a dozen years ago. We have watched him, worked with him, argued with him as he rose from an effective state senator to an inspiring U.S. senator to the Democratic Party's nominee for president.
We have tremendous confidence in his intellectual rigor, his moral compass and his ability to make sound, thoughtful, careful decisions. He is ready.
...
It may have seemed audacious for Obama to start his campaign in Springfield, invoking Lincoln. We think, given the opportunity to hold this nation's most powerful office, he will prove it wasn't so audacious after all. We are proud to add Barack Obama's name to Lincoln's in the list of people the Tribune has endorsed for president of the United States.
According to Editor & Publisher, Obama now has a 3 to 1 lead over McCain in newspaper endorsements -- 51 newspapers with a total 6,299,363 daily circulation. At least seven of those papers endorsed President Bush in 2004.
Former POW says McCain is "not cut out to be President"
http://therealmccain.com/butler/
"To see McCain resort to playing the POW card when answering legitimate questions, in my mind, cheapens that experience. And by cheapening his own experience in war, he degrades all of our experiences in war. He turns the horrific incidents we've all seen, touched, smelled, and felt into a lame excuse to earn political points. And it dishonors us all."
-- Brandon Friedman, a veteran of both Iraq and Afghanistan
John McCain has been exploiting his prisoner of war experience every chance he gets. He has used this story to justify everything from not knowing how many homes he has to his healthcare plan to his marital infidelities to his taste in music. The McCain campaign is even using his POW story in paid ads. But now a veteran who was a prisoner with McCain in Vietnam is explaining loud and clear that being a POW does not qualify McCain to lead our country.
We are sure this video will draw an onslaught of right-wing attacks, but we bring it to you because it is our job to continue to convey the truth together and give these issues national attention. As Dr. Butler has said, McCain does not have the temperament to have his finger near the red button.
Get this video to everyone you know-friends, family members, coworkers, and especially those who don't share your political views. The video is designed to reach them.
Get it on your social networking sites like Digg. And get it to every blog, newspaper, and TV station that has ever overplayed McCain's POW story. It is time to fight back with truth!
The mainstream press has already begun to call out McCain for overusing his POW story. And it's cut across all political persuasions.
"Whether he's deflecting criticism over his health-care plan or mocking a tribute to the Woodstock music festival, Senator John McCain has a trump card: the Hanoi Hilton. - Edwin Chen, Bloomberg
"Noun, Verb, POW" - Andrew Sullivan, The Atlantic Monthly
"The McCain campaign's constant invocation of the candidate's POW past is weird bordering on irrational..." - Ana Marie Cox, TIME
"I think they are going to it way too many times." - Howard Fineman, Newsweek
Remember how Joe Biden got the press to refer to Rudy Giuliani as "A noun, a verb, and 9/11"
Well, let's actually take Andrew Sullivan's lead here and get the media to boil McCain down to a similar phrase: "A noun, a verb, and POW." Considering how often the McCain campaign invokes his POW story, isn't that what they're already doing?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With all of the horse hockey about Mc Cain still being a hero, he stands by and lets his vice candidate, the prettiest dumb woman in politics, slather his opponent in dirt for associating with a respected college professor. To believe anything at all about what is implied in this slander, you require people to interrogate all respected college professors that you might meet into explaining their past lives before you agree to sit down with them. Tell me now, how many of your friends that you know whose past that you have investigated to see if they might have done anything questionable in the past? Try Nelson Mandela, for instance. He was in the pen for thirty years. An ex con. Would you refuse to sit in the same parlor with Nelson Mandela?
Mc Cain knows that all of this is stupid, and that his vice candidate is stupid or she wouldn't stoop so low as to do things this way. He simply counts on her never having to try to lead the whole country because he is guaranteed to live and be alert enough to finish his office. This woman constitutes a peril to this nation with there being even a scintilla of a possibility that she would ever assume the presidency. She is so bad that the campaign is terrified of her being interviewed about any details of what a president needs to know and do. This is not heroic, John Mc Cain, and you knew better. Your political future is not valuable enough to expose us to this danger. Shame on you. Now, go sit with Larry King and let him challenge you, too. You deserve the disgrace.
beanhead54: Your Lame Ass already live in a [Socialist Government]
A [MIlitary Run , Capitalist, Socialist Society]
A Glorified Police State....
I have no Problems with it, I cannot change it, so I Accept it.
Socialist Government..
1. Social Security System: A Self Sufficient Government, would not have such an Organization...Period.
2. Unemployment Insurance: In a Independent, Self Sufficient Government [Country] You have only what you've Earned.
3. Medicaid-Medicare: Again, In a Self Sufficient and independent Government-Nation, it would not EXIST.
4. Welfare & Food Stamps: again, it would'nt... Exist
5. Federal, State, County & City Government Taxes would be one, not Seperate, though it should be [One]
6. Governement & CEO Bailouts resulting in CEO's keeping their Millions and Leaving the Tax Payer and his children to pay for the Debts incurred by Corporate execuives and then for the Governemnt to have Ownership in the Banking Institutions is [Socialism]
7. Social Programs, Not for Profit Organizations, Various Government Handouts and Scholarships, grants that don't Require Repayment, all of this is [Socialism]
But this country would be a Big 3rd world Without implementing various Forms of [Socialism] or Derivatives of [Socialism]
I have no problem with it, because the governemnt can do as it pleases and those that control Finance have the Power to do so.
YOU CAN STOP THE [SOCIALISM] SCARE TACTICS NOW...IT WILL NOT WORK..OK
Ellis, McCain gets his "proper grilling" from the MSM on a daily basis. You fail to mention the only proper grilling Obama has ever seen is from Fox.
I guess that just slipped your mind.
...................................It is hard for me to ignore that journalists and all forms of the media are employed by Corporations and what they present or choose not to present are going to reflect information that the Corporations approve of. The Corporations have people who give us news and information and interviews that present guys like Bush during his early years very favorably so the media should be implicated in the building up of the war and the limited feedback on what the Big Corporations were doing that led up to our present Financial Crisis and many other important happenings that we should be informed about but are left in the dark and vote ignorantly in many cases. McCain now has Fox News going to bat for him 24/7 to build up his Campaign and attack the Obama Campaign. Many other news sources have Republican Insiders imbed in their news and information services who "come out of the woodwork" now during an election year to boost guys like McCain and help Conservative Politics and Politicians............America is controlled by the Corporations and is not a True Democracy because the Media is under the control of Corporations!!!!
