Once again, we are stumped as a nation on how can we give something to people who should buy the product themselves. I know, lump them in with the people who really nead help. But that would be welfare you say. Yes, but like the word liberal, welfare has been given a bad rap. Taking care of people or helping people whc can't help themselves is taking care of the well being of a society. Helping people who think that health insurance is somehow written in stone that they don't have to pay for it because it is a right is socialism. If a family has the means to purchase health insurance and does not and has children in the family, that is child abuse and they should be forced to purchase it or get on some government program that provides for the children. As for them selves, if they can afford a plan (maybe not the best one available but one that would pay for a long hospital stay) and bet they will not need health insurance, then they should lose the house as they planned if they are wrong.

Obama's view of the future of America - Socialism which is the next step to Communism!! He admitted to Joe the Plumber than he wanted to spread the wealth! He said that he wanted to make everyone equal! Is America ready for Socialism? The Iranian president, Ahmadinejad, said today that he is glad to see the end to capitalism in America!! Are you glad?????
    ====================================================================================================

Under socialism a ruling class of intellectuals, bureaucrats and social planners decide what people want or what is good for society and then use the coercive power of the State to regulate, tax, and redistribute the wealth of those who work for a living. In other words, socialism is a form of legalized theft.

The morality of socialism can be summed-up in two words: envy and self-sacrifice. Envy is the desire to not only possess another's wealth but also the desire to see another's wealth lowered to the level of one's own. Socialism's teaching on self-sacrifice was nicely summarized by two of its greatest defenders, Hermann Goering and Bennito Mussolini. The highest principle of Nazism (National Socialism), said Goering, is: "Common good comes before private good." Fascism, said
Mussolini, is "a life in which the individual, through the sacrifice of his own private interests??realizes that completely spiritual existence in which his value as a man lies."

Socialism is the social system which institutionalizes envy and self-sacrifice: It is the social system which uses compulsion and the organized violence of the State to expropriate wealth from the producer class for its redistribution to the parasitical class.

Despite the intellectuals' psychotic hatred of capitalism, it is the only moral and just social system.

Capitalism is the only moral system because it requires human beings to deal with one another as traders--that is, as free moral agents trading and selling goods and services on the basis of mutual consent.

Capitalism is the only just system because the sole criterion that determines the value of thing exchanged is the free, voluntary, universal judgement of the consumer. Coercion and fraud are anathema to the free-market system.

It is both moral and just because the degree to which man rises or falls in society is determined by the degree to which he uses his mind. Capitalism is the only social system that rewards merit, ability and achievement, regardless of one's birth or station in life.

Yes, there are winners and losers in capitalism. The winners are those who are honest, industrious, thoughtful, prudent, frugal, responsible, disciplined, and efficient. The losers are those who are shiftless, lazy, imprudent, extravagant, negligent, impractical, and inefficient. What amazes me is all dupes out there who actually believe these ads are legitimate...especially after the whole Swift Boat incident (and yes, it goes both ways).

I remember seeing an ad in Southern California that said a state rep voted against providing school lunches for kids. What it didn't say was that the school lunch ammendment was attached to a bill that provided free condoms and sponges to 7th graders, and I haven't believed one of those ads since.

The worst thing about it is that, by law (in Colorado anyway), political ads get the cheapest rates in the market and TV/Radio stations are required to play a specific amount of them every year.

Of course, they wouldn't continue to place these ads if they didn't work, so there must be a lot of gullible lemmings out there who still believe this nonsense.

From my reading of the article, McCain's "plan" will help very few people. Tax health care benefits on one hand and "give" tax credits on the other. Smoke and mirrors, that's all. What does it accomplish except to allow McCain to say he has a health care plan? It doesn't make sure that a lot of lower and middle income people who can't afford health care insurance will have access to it.
That $2500/$5000 tax credit? Except for the youngest and healthiest, that won't even begin to cover insurance costs. Got a pre-existing condition? Forget it. The health insurance companies will still be making up the rules as they go.
Thirty percent of our "health care" costs are applied to insurance administrative costs and profit. Middle men! Middle men telling you that you can't have surgery, or even be admitted to the hospital, unless they approve it! Middle men laying down the criteria for an additional day in the hospital after surgery!
Do you think this has much effect on your care, unless you have a really stupid doctor who doesn't know how to sidestep the insurance comapny rules if he or she thinks it's medically necessary?
It does, however, add to your insurance company's administrative costs, just as does the seemingly neverending effort to try to find if they can shift the costs to another insurance company in the event of an accident. Case in point: several years ago, I fell and broke my arm on my property. My health insurance company and their contractors contacted me five times to determine if another insurance company might be involved. Had it happened next door on my mother's property, I suppose I would have been required to sue her. This system is ridiculous!

I have recently discovered that Snopes.com is owned by a flaming liberal and this man is 100% for Obama. There are many things they have listed on their site as a hoax and yet you can go to Youtube yourself and find the video of Obama actually saying these things. So you see, you cannot and should not trust Snopes.com....ever for anything that remotely resembles truth! I am not even sure I trust them to tell me if email chains are hoaxes anymore.

A few people on Myspace told me about snopes.com a few months ago and I finally took it upon myself to do a little research to find out if it was true. Well, I found out for myself that it is true. This website is backing Obama and is covering up for him. They will say anything that makes him look bad is a hoax, and they also tell lies on the other side about McCain and Palin.

Anyway just FYI please be aware of Snopes.com as a political source for fact finding, and make sure your friends are aware of their political leanings as well. Many people still think Snopes.com is neutral and they can be trusted as factual. Well that is not exactly the truth. We need to make sure everyone is aware of that.

Jim Johnson...so John McCain didn't really leave his wife for Cindy McCain and Cindy McCain never had a drug addiction and never falsifed prescriptions to get more drugs? Thanks, I'm glad to have your impartial sources as proof of what you say.

This Articl States --"It's true that some people would pay higher taxes under McCain's plan. The Tax Policy Center estimated that the top 40 percent of income earners in the U.S. would pay more than they'd receive from McCain's tax credit by 2018. (In 2007, the top 40 percent were households with income above $62,000.) And it's possible that other workers with high-priced plans would face a net increase in taxes. But the figure stated in this ad is incorrect."

.. And the figures stated in this article could be wrong.
I hope you read this "the TOP 40 Percent" appear to be in for an income tax increase. Do you understand that the added "income" will be taxed at the highest tax rate you are subject to? No one explains but all in the benefits administration field (which I am in) discuss that the Pre-Tax benefit that many employees receive because they are in a Section 125 (Cafeteria Plan ...Premium Only Plan) will go away also. You will be taxed on what the Employer pays and on what you pay (unless you itemize, but you will lose a large portion of the expense deduction on Schedule A).

How else can this work if people who don't have insurance now are receiving the same credit to apply to their insurance unless the money will come from the "taxation" of insurance benefits that have never been taxed?

Somethings are very clear about McCain's health plan. A $5,000 tax credit is NOT going to help someone like my mother or my father who both are in their 60s with very extreme health difficulties who currently have expensive health care plans from my father's employer. In fact, my father ONLY WORKS to have HEALTH INSURANCE which is very sad in my opinion. Anyone who has dealt with trying to get health insurance who has any health problems which are relatively severe and/or complex know how difficult and expensive these plans are. I find your lack of attention to the fact that this dereguation of health care (akin to the banking industry) would no doubt do to our healthy as a country just as our health as a economic power. Those who rail against socialism, excuse me, but what do you think this infusion of the government's money into the market is? Why is it that the wealthy get relief and the middle class get - nothing. For far less than that bail out, every single American could have health care instead of bailing out the greedy people who disobeyed the laws, rules and basic common sense. A vote for McCain is a vote for more of the same. Wake up.

Who is misleading? Who is a liar. Hint, it's not the unions by far.

Now McCain is using the same firm that Bush used to slime McCain with robocalls and steal the Primary from McCain in South Carolina in 2000.

"At the time, McCain railed against the practice of robocalls, calling them "hate calls" and complaining that voters were "inundated" by them.
Larson is a major official within GOP circles. FLS Connect counts as its clients the last five Republican presidential campaigns and many of the major party institutions. The RNC, the National Republican Senate Committee, and the National Republican Congressional Committee also employ the firm's services. Larson has also been a volatile figure in this year's Minnesota Senate race, having rented a Washington D.C. apartment to incumbent Republican Norm Coleman for a highly discounted rate.
On Friday, even GOP Sen. Susan Collins condemned McCain's robocall campaign. "These kind of tactics have no place in Maine politics," her spokesman said. "Sen. Collins urges the McCain campaign to stop these calls immediately."
And as the New York Time's Michael Cooper noted, as recently as nine months ago, McCain and his campaign "were decrying a series of negative robo-calls that were being made to voters before the South Carolina primary accusing him of voting to 'use unborn babies in medical research.""

It's not possible to get more hypocritical than this.

I have never voted for Bush but I'm really getting tired of blame bush for everything BS. People feel so safe in their lives that they don't worry about terrorist attacks anymore, but no one wants to give him credit. Bush is president not God. Congress has a responsibility to come up with solutions and let him sign some laws or veto them. But no. Bush wanted changes to fannie and freddie and congress says no and the crap hits the fan and no one can think of anyone to blame but him.

Obama's healthcare plan adds up to bigger government. Everyone is bitching because under Bush the national debt was 44% higher, but they can wait to elect Obama and make it even higher. If it wasn't so illogical it would be funny. Either you think deficit is good or bad. You are not allowed to think that a deficit is bad under Bush but it would be wonderful under Obama.

Oops, forgot to include Illinois with 1.7 million and Michigan with 1.1 million residents without any health insurance. God Bless Our Uninsured America!
