    McCAIN HEALTH IN QUESTION...............

The Armed Forces pathologists suggested that the left-temple melanoma had spread from another melanoma, known as a metastasis or satellite lesion. ???The vertical orientation of this lesion,??? the report said, ???with only focal epidermal involvement above it is highly suggestive of a metastasis of malignant melanoma and may represent a satellite metastasis of S00-9572-A,??? which is the ???skin, left temple, lateral??? biopsy.

The pool report was by nature unable to provide a complete portrait of Mr. McCain???s recent medical history. It left several questions, including about the number of biopsies and when they were done. On Aug. 18, 2000, Dr. John D. Eckstein, Mr. McCain???s personal physician at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, noted in Mr. McCain???s records that there were two biopsies of the left temple. Dr. Eckstein???s note did not say where and when the biopsies were performed. The Armed Forces report cited one biopsy, so presumably a second was performed in Scottsdale. The Armed Forces pathologists said a melanoma had developed over a skin scar whose origin was unclear..........

The Armed Forces pathologists did not speak in the teleconference in May 2008, and questions raised by their report have remained unanswered. The selected reporters did not ask about that report, and the Mayo Clinic doctors did not discuss it. A complete Mayo pathology report was apparently not included in the pool summary...........

If Mr. McCain???s 2000 left-temple melanoma was a metastasis, as the Armed Forces pathologists??? report suggested, it would be classified as Stage III. The reclassification would change his statistical odds for survival at 10 years from about 60 percent to 36 percent, according to a published study..............

McCAIN HEALTH PROBLEMS = PALIN S PRESIDENCY! HELLOOOO!!!!!!!

    Corporate Welfare Versus Social Welfare
    by David Wildman

As the U.S. Congress debated welfare policy, the media spotlight focused on the need to cut spending to the poorest people in the nation. At the same time, there was no or minimal coverage of policies that send billions of government dollars to corporate interests from oil companies to agribusiness to firms producing arms.
Looking across the breadth of the U.S. budget and policies, a key question arises: Whose welfare is the government serving -- the people???s or corporations????
It???s not a new question. Upon leaving the U.S. presidency in the late 1800s, Rutherford B. Hayes wrote in his diary:
"The real difficulty is with the vast wealth and power in the hands of the few....It is a government of the people, by the people, and for the people no longer. It is a government of corporations, by corporations, and for corporations."
U.S. presidents since have shared Mr. Hayes??? concern. For example, President Dwight D. Eisenhower warned of the dangerous power of the military-industrial complex in his farewell address. In his last weeks in office, President Bill Clinton stopped further subsidies to logging, mining and oil companies by preserving millions of acres of public lands.
Too often those in power only find courage and wisdom to address injustice of the powerful as they themselves leave power.
Today a rising number of voices -- environmentalists, workers, faith communities, family farmers, indigenous peoples and some public officials -- are calling for an end to corporate subsidies and privilege they label corporate welfare. Like forces that called for an end to social welfare "as we know it" in the early 1990s, these forces are calling for an end to corporate welfare "as we know it."
These groups refuse to be silent in the face of corporate efforts to transform government into a shareholders??? meeting where only those with money vote and earn dividends.

Most firms pay no income taxes - Congress
Study finds that the majority of domestic and foreign corporations in the United States avoid paying federal income taxes.
NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Nearly two-thirds of U.S. companies and 68% of foreign corporations do not pay federal income taxes, according to a congressional report released Tuesday.
The Government Accountability Office (GAO) examined samples of corporate tax returns filed between 1998 and 2005. In that time period, an annual average of 1.3 million U.S. companies and 39,000 foreign companies doing business in the United States paid no income taxes - despite having a combined $2.5 trillion in revenue.
The study showed that 28% of foreign companies and 25% of U.S. corporations with more than $250 million in assets or $50 million in sales paid no federal income taxes in 2005. Those companies totaled a combined $372 billion in sales for the largest foreign companies and $1.1 trillion in revenue for the biggest U.S. companies.

For those talking about Obama supposed friends...

Well you should ask McCain about his pals Gordon Liddy, Pastor Hagee, Keating five, Mustafa Abu Naba'a, Ali Jawad, Oliver North, John Singlaub and U.S. Council for World Freedom, Kemper Marley, Don Diamond, Marylin Shannon have shaped his views.

What about his association with segregationist senators and ex- KKK like Byrd, has that make him a segregationist as well? Good question to ask, maybe you should just assume like you are doing with Obama, why not?

And what about Sarah and Todd Palin membership with Alaska Independence Party ??? the party of anti-American Joe Vogler What is Todd s influence as husband and shadow governor getting involved in her job and policies. And Sarah s friend Mark Chryson and Steve Stoll members of the AIP as well. Let s assume as well that they have influence her being friends for so many years, no?

McCain plan for the Economy is more of the same than Bush s plan, not me saying it but an American who won this year NOBEL PRIZE IN ECONOMY!. By the way he praised Obama s plan.
So, McCain has been looking for a SLOGAN, because as they say in their inner circles (not publicly of course) of the LIMITED RETENTION SPAN of their constituents. That works for them since they do not worry to explain the ISSUES in detail, one or two slogan to chew and all the work is done!!

And there you are falling for it, how pitiful.....insulting I would say.

Do you think Warren Buffet would support Obama or this year Nobel prize winner on Economy (an American) would support his plan if he would be Socialist? Use your brains, please!

McCain has been changing tune every week to see what sticks. And now he is using the same GOTCHA journalism that he and Palin complained so much (w/o reason).
His is using the same robotcall company that smeared him in 2000, he denounced it then but he is approving it now.....Do you see the pattern? Honesty?...

McCain DOES NOT have a different agenda than Bush, that s why he is trying to distract with innuendos, smears, lies, a potential president of the USA? Sorry I thought those were the tactics of someone that has nothing to tell (McCain s own words) and I would add crook s tactics as well.....

Who "Joe the plumber" may be is not the issue, though it's easy to see why the Dems want it to be. That's because the real issue is what Obama's comments to him revealed about Obama. In the exchange with "Joe the plumber" we find out that Obama really is as radical as his early political acquaintances, Davis, Ayers, Wright, etc., and that he is into the failed economic policy of wealth redistribution. Obama's tax and spending plans alone would be bad enough, but add Reid and Pelosi to the mix, with the three of them controlling both houses of Congress and the executive branch without any effective restraint, and you have something that should causes concern even among moderate Democrats.
See Wall Street Journal: A Liberal Supermajority:

    http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122420205889842989.html

And whether McCain won or lost the third debate is also not relevant. He succeeded in the first half hour to plant the seeds of a Reagan style wipeout. Reputable historians and economists overwhelmingly agree that the taxation imposed by Hoover and FDR, and the "stimulus" spending and public works programs of FDR, actually deepened and prolonged the Great Depression. It was the production demands of WWII that got the economy going again. And when the war was over, the economy promptly went into recession.

    See e.g. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/10/03/opinion/main4499465.shtml
    And
    http://newsroom.ucla.edu/portal/ucla/FDR-s-Policies-Prolonged-Depression-5409.aspx

Point is, Obama's programs are to tax, and it does not really matter who he taxes, those taxes are going to be passed through the economy. He has to tax, because it is they only way he can pay for his massive social engineering experiments. Any first year economics student knows that taxation is a tool used to contract an economy experiencing inflation, because it reduces demand by reducing the amount of money individuals and businesses have to spend. It is contractionary, which is exactly what you do not want to do when the problem is that the economy is contracting already into recession. Like Hoover and FDR, Obama's plans will only make it worse for longer.

By the way, it does not matter who is president. Because of this 700 BILLION dollar bail out ... taxes are going to increase, otherwise we become a 3rd world debtor nation. The question is who should pay for that bail out. The middle class or the people who have been raping the economy and getting excessively rich during the past decade while the middle class have seen wage cuts, increasing cost of living and job loses because these wall street corps have taken American jobs and given them to third world countries for third world wages to increase CEO and stockholder profits. I guess if you didn't lose your ass in the wall street meltdown that has become the biggest financial crisis in the WORLD since the Great Depression ...than I expect that you will support the party that insists on keepin' on.

HOW MUCH ARE THEY PAYING YOU?

    • Posted By: Unbridled Truth @ 10/20/2008 10:46:02 PM

Scary is: all the support and attention Joe the Plumber is getting. This guy is a liar and a fraud and he is being portrayed as an ???average??? American. This man LIED when he stated he was going to buy the business. He LIED when he said that the business made $250K. He LIED when he stated that his taxes would increase under the Obama Plan.

He been defrauding customers, for nearly a decade, by working without a plumber's license and has occupied a job that could be filled by a qualified, law abiding, plumber. He is crying about not wanting to pay more taxes when he won't even pay what he owes, never mind the fact he would be eligible for a tax break under Obama's plan. He supports the McCain and the Bush Administration giving tax breaks to the wealthy (which they have been doing for years!) and opposes tax breaks for middle America, the Majority. Why the support for tax breaks for the wealthy? Because he hopes someday he will strike it rich and does not want to pay more taxes, then, either.

Frankly, it offends me he is being held up as an example of the average middle class American.
Personally, I think it was a set up by the McCain Campaign for use in the debate and AGAIN, McCain did not do his homework, and again, we have a poor choice of people to represent the people.

I have one question for Joe, the unlicensed plumber: As you have so much admiration for the military, the Bush/McCain war in Iraq and are so invested in spouting anti-American propaganda - Why are you still here? Maybe if you enlist, you could pay your taxes, get your plumbing license as required by law to do your job, and while it's a long shot, maybe, if you make it back alive, the military will make an honest person out of you.

If anyone cares about America and the world as one would wish it to be; then the case is clear for Obama. The third world must be developed for greater future economic markets. Fighting does not help cooperation. The French are good at this and the Brits as well. Our educational systems must tie in directly to our economics. McCain is to unstable for the planet. Palin is worst but funny. We must support Obama now.

After 9/11, the US government started rounding up Muslims without cause and without due process of law, and put them in prison camps like we did to the Japanese Americans in WWII. The Bush administration called it's main internment camp Guantanamo Bay. While there are certainly many guilty terrorists held in Guantanamo, there are also many innocent American citizens who have been held illegally for years without even being charged with any crime. They have been tortured by our government. Some of them have died.

Recently the Supreme Court ruled against the Bush administration in the matter of Guantanamo Bay. The Supreme Court Justices were NOT on the side of the terrorists. They were on the side of the Geneva Convention, that says you can not torture POWs, and on the side of US laws that state you can not imprison a person without charging them with a crime and bringing them to trial. I'm sure that like most Americans, the Justices who voted against the illegal, immoral doings at Guantanamo didn't feel sympathy for the terrorists. They felt sympathy for the laws of AMERICA, the land of the FREE, where even rat finks get a fair trial.

Meanwhile, back in Iraq, the Bush administration is busy trying to build a smokescreen to hide the CRIMES they have committed. Those pesky weapons of mass destruction. Just think, the National Debt went up over 6 trillion dollars under Bush. More than 2 trillion of it went directly into the pockets of Halliburton, a corporation owned by the Cheney family. Halliburton is now a DUBAI corporation and therefore is not subject to US taxes. All that money they took out of the US Treasury is going into the coffers of a MUSLIM country.

Did you hear about how the US government is being charged millions for Halliburton deliveries of sand into Iraq from Kuwait? Sand. Like there is a shortage of sand in Iraq? Another contractor shipped sand from Idaho to Iraq at our expense. Nobel prize winning economist Joseph Stiglitz discusses these and other excesses of our current government's out of control spending in Iraq.

Your grandchildren will be working like slaves to pay off this debt, so that the Bushes and Cheneys can live the high life in Dubai.

Yeah, they're patriots, Bush&Co. They wear flag pins. And hide the money they stole from America in Dubai.

And they want me to believe that Obama is a socialist. Right.

In case you think McCain is any different than Bush, watch this:

The American presidential election is a farce. It is not about democracy, it is not about the American people, it is about showmanship all being managed by the lobbyist. The strongest being the Jewish lobby.

The chosen candidate will be approached by the Jewish lobbyist and he will first make some empty promises to the Palestinians for example, a true independent state for Palestine. This will ensure that the pro-Palestinian voters will vote for this particular candidate, the arab world will accept and even support him and donate to his last minute election campaign. Thus 50 percent of the winning votes is secured.

Then comes the next decisive event . The chosen candidate will have to pay homage to the Jewish lobby & community in New York about 1 or 2 weeks before the election, to assure the Jews that he is will never compromise the state of Israel in making any decision on middle-east issues and he will act in the best interest of the Jews and not the voters.

The next president of the US has long been determined 1 week before the election. Just watch the scene unfolding carefully. Mr. Zakaria, your analysis and others as well including the views of the rest of the Americans can all be thrown into the dust bin.

I doubt that Jews have quite the power you attribute to them, but they certainly have a talent for getting people like you to froth at the mouth. Maybe Obama's health care plan will help you to get the rebalancing assistance you seem to need.

As always, well said. But McCain has, in fact, approved racial smears against Obama by simple word-association: He, Palin, and his supporters are using the same talking points: "Say 'Obama' and 'terrorist' in the same sentence again and again." They know it's spurious, but their entire strategy is to make false associations.

Looks like Fareed has officially joined the "in the Tank for Obama" media writers. Too Bad.

The Tank Media will have a lot to answer for if Obama steals this election. A lot of people are very angry about the tank media's suppression of unflattering Obama news, and highlighting McCain's unflattering news. And the Tank media's gifting to the Obama campaign of millions & millions of free promotion.

Fareed, meet Johnathan Alter. Liar, slime, and all around no-nothing. You have now joined his ilk.

Maybe the tank media realizes how clueless Palin(McCain's judgement ) is when it comes to answering questions. After all the years of Hillary, she was still vetted constantly by the press and the Republicans were very happy about it. It's negative when the media vets Palin but not Hillary. As for McCain, ill let his facial expressions do the talking.

Exactly how are Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, and the rest of the 1980's vintage Democratic Party going to bring about Change? Obama is an empty suit, Jr. Senator from Cook county, Chicago. You silliness is going to destroy our country with corruption, ineptness, and liberalism.

    • Posted By: Unbridled Truth @ 10/20/2008 11:01:22 PM

While I agree with you regarding Nancy P. I can't make the leap you did in this post. McCain has been a the perfect emulator of the Bush Administration, right down to adopting the same sleazy tactics Bush used against him in the 2000 campaign. While I have not love for the democratic party, of the two, Obama is not just the lesser of two evils, but if he is half the man he presents himself to be, he is the only hope Americans have if we are ever going to get back to a government that represents the constitution and the majority (the people) and restore our standing in the world as a nation with character.

Frankly I was blind to the racism in this country apparently because I always showed respect to ALL people whether they were black, India middle-eastern born as many of my Dr.'s are, asians, hispanics, or latins. But when I see all of the ugliness coming from Republicans on the AOL polical website comment section it is shocking and apolling! My greatest fear is that some sicko will do whatever it takes to asassinate the greatest President since Clinton. Sen Obama has made this country believe again and I think the Republicans are afraid that he is going to get good things done for us. The crowning moment was Gen Powell endorsing Obama, because now he is being called anything but admiral and good. had he endorsed McCain he would have been the greatest thing since fresh air.

Its frightening to me that some people really believe that Sen. Obama hasn't been involved in any of the smears. How about calling Palin a Nazi-sympathizer? How about the lies in Obama's spanish-language tv commercials showing McCain and Limbaugh, side by side? How about the list that appeared on Obama's community forum, which were supposedly the books that Sarah Palin banned (except that we then found out that list was a fake). How about the lies being told about Sarah Palin's son (is he really her grandson?). While Obama's supporters continue to smear McCain/Palin, the media looks the other way.

Everyone has been very measured in making assessments of John McCain (a war hero) and Sarah Palin ( a female with middle class roots). However, at some point, we must remove the restraints and clearly state what we all have been aware of for some time. I do believe that is what Colin Powell has done. That is what patriotism is about. Our country deserves the best leadership in these troubling times. Thank you Fareed for speaking up. Thanks for not being deterred by the name callers. We simply cannot allow certain forces to distract us. . It is clear that their policies have failed. Failed policies and politics that divide will not move us forward. We need fresh ideas. We need leadership that has the capacity to think through problems, generate new ideas, decide on appropriate solutions and carefully implement these policies. The world is much more complex than simply black and white - there are varying shades of gray. John McCain and Sarah Palin are stuck in the past with old worn out ideas about how the world is and how it ought to be. With them at the helm we are doomed!

Hear Obama in his own words discusses his links to both ACORN and the mortgage meltdown, and praises bundling and securitizing mortgages by banks as a means to float loans to the poor. Never mind the link commentators point of view, just listen to what Obama says in his own words. A picture is worth a thousand words. Maybe more in the case of the last half of the second link.
