Excellent as usual Fareed!
Excellent, as usual, Fareed!
Ok Jumping off the Internet Soap Box it's a waste of my typing to post to these haters they wouldn't see the truth even if you held their eye lids open with toothpicks
Floridave Yesterday Colin was a GOOD MAN now because he can see the forrest from the trees and went with Obama hes a sell out ! He was our General remember .. 4 star decorated , under the First Bush admin until he saw the bad that Bush was doing .. Oh yea he saw it and didn't want to be a part of it this last 4 years. You don't want to admit that Colin is a very Smart man .. Oh is it because hes a BLACK MAN Wow you need to grown up .... Reps are a mess and the last 8 years proves it
Conservative Soldier just add your name to replace Obama's in your last post and it explains you perfectly Example:
Conservative Soldier is a radical who will tear apart America, leaving nothing for the rest of the world to admire. Conservative Soldier "substance" is rooted in racist religious figures and criminal operatives. You are merely another unabashed cheerleader from the elitist East Coast liberal media who will do or write anything to pave Conservative Soldier's way to power, disregarding the risks. At the end, you give yourself away. The case for Conservative Soldier is, of course, his "brownness/ possible lightness" and his american sounding name, just as you brashly imply
A foolish article. It defends Obama as being more diplomatic than McCain, but it whitewashes the fact that Obama would likely extend diplomacy too far. Furthermore, I am baffled by the apparently popular belief that Obama would handle the economic crisis better than McCain. What evidence supports this idea?
The article also parrots a theme that should be highly disturbing to all Americans. "Imagine what people around the world would think if they saw America once again inventing the future." This statement is wrong on more than one level. First of all, if Americans are focused on what other nations think rather than what Americans see as best for America, we have really taken our eyes off the ball. 9/11 might as well have been 107 years ago rather than seven. Also, the premise of the statement is misguided. What do we think Bush was doing with the War on Terror? How is America not "inventing the future"? The future that Bush has tried to invent is one in which the US homeland would be safe from terrorist attacks. Perhaps it's not the future with which the author agrees - perhaps he would prefer to see America attacked again, and worse the next time - but it certainly is a form of American leadership. The fact that European and Middle eastern leaders disagree does not negate that truth.

Concerned Canadian I no more believe you are a Canadian then the Man in Moon that Talks ! For someone from another country that can't even vote in this country you sure have a whole lot to say. You have NO ideal what McCain will do actually McCain has not really done a whole lot to keep this country from going down hill but you insist on believing in him like you can Vote .. Honey worry about why your country will not help all the rest of the countries .. get on a band wagon and get your country moving ..I can't stand folks that yell and scream about things that are none of their affairs and do not have one Vote to change it.. So Hush Up !
Comment: For those who include Barack's Arabic middle name in your posts:
The only people who will respond to the fear-mongering you are attempting by mentioning "Hussein" are the same ignorant, uncultured, and small-minded people who are already voting for McCain, so why not save yourself the time, and energy of having to type those extra 7 letters?

Very true Wake Up Conserva they are so hateful here it's scary. And what bothers me the most is they are getting information from trash websites it sounds good in terms of making them feel better about hating so they believe the trash, and continue to pass the trash on. It's difficult to make these haters understand the truth, they will never give in HATE is easy to do . We just need to pray for them and move ahead.
John McCain on the national scene is just the opposite of what he really is. In actuality the man is as phony as your are Fareed. He has always been disliked by the people that really know him, just listen to what his colleagues say about him and his anger, especially if he doesn't get his way. The man was a total Adulterer and Married an Adulterer. And now is using her money to advance his blighted career. Read Rolling Ste and you will see how Viciou, Nasty, Vindictive this Phony War hero is.
Think4yourself you sound so angry just like mcCain .. humm interesting . Please calm down .. what you are saying are lies as well .. get your fact correct before you go flying off the McCain handle
Our country he slowly going in a downward spiral. I am baffled that a number of American's still support the conservative vision, which has taken us down this road of despair.
The only thing I can determine out of this "conflict" is that America has serious race issues. You would think in the 21st century we have gotten past that. This is so very unfortunate. Obama is the better candidate but sme people can only see HATE. mOST UNFORTUNATE.
Zareed, your coumn is pathetic to say the least.
The smell of right-wing desperation is so strong here in the comment section that I need a gas mask.
Colin Powell's "endorsement " for Obama is the lastest in a string of PROMISES THAT OBAMA HAS BROKEN WITH THE DEMORCATIC PARTY. WHY??
1. If Karl Rove is the Architect of the Bush Administration and then Donald Rumsfield was the Architech of the Irqau War the Colin Powell was ARCHITECH of the argument made before the UN to go TO WAR WITH IRAQ! So why is this such a great endorsement
2. Obama has lied about the vote for the Gun Bill, Campaign Financing, Gay rights, relationships with EVERYONE he knew in CHICAGO and now PULLING OUT OF IRAQ.
Think I'm read READ THIS AP REPORT from the TODAY SHOW....
Colin Powell will have a role as a top presidential adviser in an Obama administration, the Democratic White House hopeful said Monday.
"He will have a role as one of my advisers," Barack Obama said on NBC's "Today" in an interview aired Monday, a day after Powell, a four-star general and President Bush's former secretary of state, endorsed him.
"Whether he wants to take a formal role, whether that's a good fit for him, is something we'd have to discuss," Obama said.
SO I GUESS ALL YOU PEACE FIGHTERS and BRING OUR TROOPS HOME PROTESTERS CAN SHOVE IT! As far as Obama is concerned. He'll never end the WAR anymore than McCain will...IDIOTS...
And as for Powell's reasons for voting "not endorsing" "not campaigning with" Obama ???? Easy BECAUSE HE'S BLACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DONT BLAME HIM WITH THE HISTORY OF THIS COUNTRY BUT DONT LIE AND PUT GOV. PALIN DOWN AS A REASON!!
COLIN POWELL JUST DOESNT WANT HISTORY TO SHOW THAT A BLACK MAN WAS ELECTED PRESIDENT AND HE WAS NOT ON THE "LIST" OF BLACKS BACKING HIM.
If he REALLY endorsed him he would not only campaign with him but have more interveiws.
BTW... Why did Obma want Powell's endorsement anyway???? McCain I can see but why Obama??? His whole campaign from Primary to General Election was running on ALWAYS being against the IRAQ WAR. So why would he want an endorsement of someone who made the CASE TO GO TO WAR????
OBAMA LIES
HE'S NEVER GOING TO END THE WAR. NO TROOPS ARE COMING HOME. IDIOTS!!!!!
I think your last comment says it all. Obama is the personification of what we stand for as a nation. I too want my daughter to grow up with hope and a can do America-not one gripped by us vs them and the fear that goes with it.
The problem with this summary is not that it is incorrect about McCain, but that it is incorrect about Obama. McCain does represent an outdated ideology, but so does Obama. Obama's philosophy of big government and big taxes is nothing new. Even his health care plan is a more cautious version of Hillary Clinton's failed attempt to introduce a government run health care program. With Obama, we will have more of the Carter and Johnson sort of failed liberalism and a rejection of Clintonian (third way) economics.. With McCain, we will have liberalism wrapped in a conservative cloak In the end, the country needs to decide between European socialism and American libertarianism. Obama may take the country towards European socialism, but sadly McCain is not likely to take us in the direction of American libertarianism.
