Now Obomb-a is going to bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb in this election. Guess he should not have measured the drapes quite yet.

He is feeling the squeeze. During the debates among the democrats before the DNC Obama said those who were rich and those who should be taxed was at 97,000 it just keeps getting lower and lower.Biden said 150,000 you can???t trust these two bozo's at

Bobo the clown Obama will do anything it takes to become the first world leader. When he doesn???t make it in the USA that is what he will be gunning for.

Totally agree with Zakaria. The current US election has been the best thing that happened in years. Wish we had a similar electoral system in other countries. It really brings out the character of the candidates and an understanding of face of the coming four years. Obama seems to be a character lept straight off the pages of Ellison and Baldwin. This time its visible, real and the world knows his name.

When are true journalists going to investigate the truth about Obama's ties to Arabs; has anyone looked into where the huge amounts of donations are coming from? What about Dr Surhan the Islamic radical who used influence to get him admitted to Harvard. How about the huge interest in Obama from Europe and the British college students who came to Ohio to fraudulently register young voters?? Why is England, which now is 33% Islamic so interested in the US elections?? Just follow the money trail. Think about it.

If you want endless war with Iran, Syria, along with war against the insurgents in Afganistan and Iraq, then vote McCain. If you want another Cold War with Russia, vote McCain. Look at his foreign policy advisors. These people will run our country into the ground with their endless blood thirst and quest to spread democracy to places where it won't work.

What is the average IQ of Sarah Palin McCain supporters? 82.

      Did Obama tell you that?

Don't you guys feel guilty for targeting and prepetuating the plight of the less fortunate? You guys should be ashamed of yourselves.

You guys are hypnotized. This hypnosis is whats keeping you from seeing the obvious problems with this mans friends and associations. Wake up before its too late.

Add Concerned Canadian to that list of liars,nut-jobs, haters, fanatics, and ignoramuses

PS CC: here in the USA we don't post in all caps -- that is considered rude ( as if you were a real Canadian -- ha!)

  • Posted By: samval @ 10/28/2008 2:10:37 AM

It is pathetic. Posters like NowfortheTruth and star3 are all that is left of the McCain supporters -- idiots spouting conspiracy theories and nonsense. The cyberspace equivalents of that emotionally-disturbed girl who carved that backwards-B on her cheek.

Obama doesn't have a valid birth certificate -- Michael Savage says so, so it must be true.

Obama voted 'present' on mortgage reform -- you can't vote present in the US Senate, moron.

These are the right wing -- liars,nut-jobs, haters, fanatics, and ignoramuses

In this video, Obama, who claims he has "no ties with Acorn" notwithstanding the $800,000 paid to an Acorn group during the primaries, is campaigning at a convention of Acorn and I believe two other Community Activist's organizations. Ask if he will be their ally if he becomes President and pledge to meet with leaders of Acorn and the others in his first year, Obama says, quote:

"Yes, but let me say that before I even get inaugurated, during the transition, we are going to be calling all of you in to help us shape the agenda."

See and hear it for yourself. Obama promised that Acorn and a couple of other groups like it will setting his agenda if elected even before he is inaugurated:

(CNN) -- Vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin likes to portray herself as an average American working mother.
But how many typical moms get $150,000 worth of merchandise from stylish stores and have strangers pay for it?

This week's revelation about the purchases was just one more surprise in the fast rise and apparent fall of the Republican Party's sudden superstar.

Remember, it was only two months ago that Palin was just the popular governor of Alaska, still an obscure figure in American politics. That changed in late August when John McCain chose her as his running mate.

Within days, she was generating the biggest excitement the McCain campaign had ever enjoyed, captivating the Republican Party, swelling the crowds at its rallies and drawing media coverage that overshadowed the Democrats.

One McCain advisor told me then that one of the practical problems she discovered as she criss-crossed the country was that she didn't bring enough clothes.

It seems her family didn't have enough clothes either, because suddenly there was some serious shopping.

A single visit to the fashionable department store Neiman Marcus cost more than $75,000, but that was only half of the total. The bills ultimately went to the Republican Party, which means that although they probably didn't know it, party donors paid for them.

Palin's problems go beyond clothes, though, to her very candidacy. In recent days, prominent Republicans, from former Secretary of State Colin Powell to Reagan speechwriter Peggy Noonan, have publicly criticized her lack of experience.

Ordinary Americans agree. An NBC/Wall Street Journal poll found that in early September, when Palin was just starting out as a candidate, 47 percent of voters had a positive opinion of her, compared to 27 percent who felt negatively.

Now 47 percent have negative feelings, compared with 38 percent who feel positively.

And the new poll found that concern about Palin's qualifications is voters' top concern about McCain, ahead of every other issue in the election.

Voting day is less than two weeks away and most polls suggest that Barack Obama is headed for victory. The surprise is that Palin went from being McCain's best asset to his biggest problem. And the Republicans don't have much time, or an obvious way, to fix it.

IS THIS THE IDEOLOGY OBAMA ADOPTED FROM HIS CLOSE ASSOCIATION WITH WILLIAM AYERS WHO ALSO IS A BIG PROPONENT OF MARXISM?

Fire, did you go to the website I suggested above, and watch them video? Obama is not even legal to run for president of the U.S.A. He was not born here, so can not legally run for this office; his own grandmother said she was present in the room when he was born in Kenya, and he was taught the Muslim
religion. If you or anyone really want the truth, and are not afraid of hearing it, then go to this website: htt://michaelsavage.wnd.com/?pageId=2256

I've been reading Fareed Zakaria's articles for years, and his articles are always thoughtful and balanced. I wish he could be president. Barring that, I think the next president (hopefully Obama) should make him top foreign policy advisor.

    • Posted By: The Dominican @ 10/26/2008 11:45:22 PM

Maybe that's the main reason Mr. Zakharia is cheering up Obama: he got all arranged to become advisor...

    The Kennedy tax cut.

    http://www.heritage.org/Research/Taxes/bg1765.cfm

About half way through the article.

"President Kennedy proposed massive tax-rate reductions, which were passed by Congress and became law after he was assassinated. The 1964 tax cut reduced the top marginal personal income tax rate from 91 percent to 70 percent by 1965. The cut reduced lower-bracket rates as well. In the four years prior to the 1965 tax-rate cuts, federal government income tax revenue--adjusted for inflation--increased at an average annual rate of 2.1 percent, while total government income tax revenue (federal plus state and local) increased by 2.6 percent per year . In the four years following the tax cut, federal government income tax revenue increased by 8.6 percent annually and total government income tax revenue increased by 9.0 percent annually. Government income tax revenue not only increased in the years following the tax cut, it increased at a much faster rate.
The Kennedy tax cut set the example that President Ronald Reagan would follow some 17 years later. By increasing incentives to work, produce, and invest, real GDP growth increased in the years following the tax cuts: More people worked, and the tax base expanded. Additionally, the expenditure side of the budget benefited as well because the unemployment rate was significantly reduced.
Using the Congressional Budget Office's revenue forecasts (made with the full knowledge of the future tax cuts), revenues came in much higher than had been anticipated, even after the "cost""of the tax cut had been taken into account. Additionally, in 1965--one year following the tax cut--personal income tax revenue data exceeded expectations by the greatest amounts in the highest income classes.
Testifying before Congress in 1977, Walter Heller, President Kenned''s Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers, summarized:
What happened to the tax cut in 1965 is difficult to pin down, but insofar as we are able to isolate it, it did seem to have a tremendously stimulative effect, a multiplied effect on the economy. It was the major factor that led to our running a $3 billion surplus by the middle of 1965 before escalation in Vietnam struck us. It was a $12 billion tax cut, which would be about $33 or $34 billion in today's terms, and within one year the revenues into the Federal Treasury were already above what they had been before the tax cut.
Did the tax cut pay for itself in increased revenues? I think the evidence is very strong that it did."

Well, McCain gave the keynote speech at the 2006 Acorn meeting and praised their work to high heavens...Does this mean that MCain supports the fake voter registration or that he is complicit in it? The last time I checked Acorn worked for both dems and republicans, they are an equal opportunity registration firm, with all their pros and cons. And, they reported the fraudulent forms themselves.

Hey Mr Zakharia: Is not fair to use your journalist position to try to bend people's choice for President, and you halt to the truth when you say that you feel more secure with Obama for your child's future... that it's outrageous and racist, so you will cast your ballot for Obama? and unless you are beind paid for promote Obama's change you must left people decide for who cast their ballot, Shame on you!!! Biased

    • Posted By: freedom4all @ 10/26/2008 4:32:48 PM

Why are you surprised? The title of the article is clearly stated. Zakaria is not biased; he is stating an opinion, backed up by a clear and reasoned argument. I've read articles by him that covered the (few) things Bush managed to get right. Fareed Zakaria calls 'em as he sees 'em, with no agenda for either the right or the left.
