Well said Fareed Zakaria. The contrast between Sen. Obama and McCain is so clear. Sen. Obama has run a much more superior campaign and has showed style, substance, good judgment, and temperament in this election, as well as, a command of the issues. McCain has been very negative, ill-mannered, and out-of-touch.

Certainly the world knows Sen. Obama is the Commander-in-Chief that America needs at this time. All of us " will feel more confident about his future if a man named Barack Obama became president of the United States."

A couple of agitated yahoos in a rally of thousands yell something offensive and incendiary, and John McCain and Sarah Palin are not just guilty by association -- with total strangers, mind you -- but worse: guilty according to The New York Times of "race-baiting and xenophobia." So lets ask the New York Times to bring up Barack Obama's real associations -- 20 years with Jeremiah Wright, working on two foundations and distributing money with William Ayers, citing the raving Michael Pfleger as one who helps him keep his moral compass (Chicago Sun-Times, April 2004) and the long-standing relationship with the left-wing vote-fraud specialist ACORN -- you have crossed the line into illegitimate guilt by association. Moreover, it is tinged with racism. Colin Powells endorsement is nothing more than another Black politician being pressured by Black community to join the racism this election, just like John Lewis. It???s sad to see these once well respected men throwing all that away to support a candidate based solely on skin color. Let???s not forget POWELL is the one who advised the American People to go to war!!!! Isn???t it funny how Obama has run on the bases he did not vote for the war (because he couldn???t) but has surrounded himself with those who voted for and supported the war like his VP choice???? Obama is too too unstable to be leader of the free world...

I think poor Joe is just guilty of what I have notice of some Americans, acting like they are rich and "somebody" when infact they are not. It is sad he was put out there though.

If the subject were not so serious, this would certainly rank as a comic masterpiece. Who knew Zakaria was such a humorist? Perhaps the part I loved most was the image of Palin, the "rabble-rouser". It brings to mind the storming of the Bastile by the French rabble, seeking justice, human rights, and, God forbid, equality. Remember, "Liberté, égalité, fraternité" (I appoligize to those whose mastery of the language is limited to merci beaucoup)? Yes, the rabble: the common folk, those not educated at Harvard or Yale -- horror of horrors! The modern-day nobility in the media and in Washington, who are themselves myopically mired in the past, love to invoke populist ideas and symbolism, so long as it is contrived to manipulate the rabble. When a true populist arises from the rabble, she must be silenced lest the rabble be encouraged to think that they, too, could actually aspire to the presidency, or even worse, that they could reason for themselves without the media-elite filter to explain the world for them. To this end we can pillory Palin as an intellectual equivalent of junk-food, but let us not pull the curtain aside to view the reality of Joe Biden, Obama's foreign policy wizard, who can't seem to count to four! The truth is that Obama's "new ideas" were old by the time they were espoused by Jimmy Carter, who to his credit at least seemed sincere. So if the "change we seek" is truly a new paradigm, why should we be limited to the time-worn, phony-populist appeals to soak the rich and all the rest when we can have the REAL thing. That is, if you really would want to serve the best interests of the "middle-class", the working man, the "rabble". Oh sorry, now I'm just being presumptuous. .

If Socialism is a positive change, then this country and the Obama Kool Aid drinkers get what they deserve. I have already made my millions, but the morons that follow this fake messiah, are in for a shock. America was founded on Capitalism. Maybe fareed, you and the rest of your CNN cronies will change your tune in about a year, when everything is socialised and when you have to stand in line to get a decent health care for your family. your family. You will be whining about the taxes you are paying and why your hard earned dollars are supporting welfare guys that do not want to work.

I am so sick of Obama and his lies to the public. He is the big joke. A vote for him will ruin this country. America is the greatest country you could live in and God Bless it, I do.
