Imagine the scenario if Obama get elected and the following get enacted ..

1) Resurrection of the ???fairness doctrine???.

2) Giving the District of Columbia the right to vote in congress.

3) Introduction of election-day voter registration.

The Republicans would have a hard job getting their foot in the door again and the US would effectively have a one party system.

Cannot wait to see the biased liberal media's faces on election night when McCain/Palin take the election because the people have duped the media and their polls when they called us. Watching and waiting for the punchline...our dvr's are ready.

I am not with the current trends in that I am an independent who intended to vote for Obama but now have switched to McCain. There are many reasons I would like to vote for Obama but the fundamental issue that will prevent that is the core belief of Obama and much of the Democratic party in the necessity for the forced redistribution of wealth. I disagree that the fall of Communism has made socialism irrelevant. Democrats would like us to be like Europe and Canada. I was born and raised in Canada by socialist parents whom I love dearly, as I love Canada. But redistribution does not work in any sector. It creates negative incentives and behaviours that hurt everybody. My Dad embraced socialism from a Christian perspective - living the words of Christ. But free will and the importance of individuals exchanging with their fellows, giving in balance with receiving, is vital to the health of our society. The greed of CEO's is not forgiven but what will create more abundance and more opportunity for everybody? Democrats like to demonize big business. Their measures hurt all business. I want America to be America - respectful of other cultures (which we have not been) but still, America, the land of opportunity.

More smears? OF the 800,000 about 80,000 went to ACORN for voter registration efforts. Did some of the homeless employed by ACORN fill out false forms. It appears so. Despicable. This is called voter registration fraud, and not voter fraud. Huge difference. Voter fraud is as bad as voter supression.
Bottom line, some lazy irresponsible people seem to have cheated and filled out some forms with bogus names. No one is or should defend these illegal actions. But to somehow insinuate that the Obama campaign was in any way orchestrating these efforts is of course slanderous and stupid.
Let me give a simple analogy for the benefit of those of you who are on FOX. If I give the neighbor's kid five bucks to pick up a bag of apples and he decides to shoplift the apples and pocket the fiver, how am i to blame? Of course, Rush and Sean would 'report' the disjointed facts of my giving the kid five bucks and the act of shoplifting and try to connect the two with sleazy innuendo and ZERO proof, that's what they do. It is up to the thinking public to see this for what it is, yet another desperate another smear and distraction.

I'm voting for the intelligent one, the christian, the one who wants world peace, the one with one house & one spouse, you know, "that one" !!!

Perhaps 911 has faded into the horizon of the left wing in our country but Islamic terrorists are not giving up on their desire to destroy us.

McCain wants to defeat them, Obama wants to negotiate with them. If your head is in the clouds and you truly believe we can negotiate with people who fly airplanes into buildings, send suicide bombers into busses, restaurants, and supermarkets to murder innocent men, women, and children in Israel and fifteen other countries since our 911, then vote for Obama. If you believe that terrorism, in all its forms, must be defeated then vote for McCain.

In a time of war, terror, and evil I choose the most experienced candidate, not the one I think is a "cool dude" but has zero experience.

I wrote my congressman and said NO (along with 85% of Americans) to the bail-out heist, she voted YES, then wrote me a long letter stating I am too stupid to understand, and she did it for my own good.

The bottom line is that political affiliation is a pretty stable trait in adults. Young conservatives age into old conservatives. Young liberals age into old liberals. Once this election is over, check out the demographic distribution of votes among the different age groups. In the most recent poll, McCain only led among 30-44 year olds, the age group that became politically aware in the Reagan era. He was only just behind in the 60+ group, who were distributed over a broad time frame from WWII to Vietnam era in coming of age, so you've a mixed group. The 45-59 group goes strongly for Obama, and they became aware during the Nixon debacle. The young people <30 are the most skewed of all, over 2:1 for Obama. So, with these numbers coming into the voting population while the older more 1:1 departing, the trend is toward a more liberal country over time.
