Are you Obama supporters totally dense? Pay attention to the MAN, not just his WORDS. This is without a doubt teh most dishonest, anti-American candidate in the history of our presidential politics. There is no way he will bring GOOD change to America. Unless you want a communist style government, with VERY HIGH taxes, 15 millions illegal aliens living off welfare provided from YOUR paycheck. government control of virtually everything, including YOUR LIVES, then vote for McCain! Do not make the same mistake Germany and Russia and other communist, socialist, or Nazi countries made! Obama has a background that is sickening - one COMMUNIST pal after another!

When they have nothing else, they call Obama anti-american. This is just the same mad politics of hate that Senator McCarthy used in the old days, conjuring up all kinds of lies to tar and feather his opponents. He wasn't trying to save America from communism, he was doing nothing but promulgating hatred, since he had nothing decent to say.

ChristianPatriot, you're not a Christian - Christians don't bear false witness against their neighbors, and you're lying about Obama being a Communist. If you were a Christian, you wouldn't have a problem with a graded tax plan that takes a little more from those who can afford it than it does from those who are working hard but can barely keep a roof over their heads and food on their tables. And you're not a Patriot either, because a true patriot believes in our Constitution, not the mockery of it that George W Bush and his cronies have made of it. A true patriot would repudiate all that the current Republican Party stands for.

Today I voted in Florida .

I walked into the voting area with my ballot. For a moment, I stood silent and said a prayer of thanks for this incredible gift of freedom we sometimes take for granted.

As I voted for Barack Obama, I choked back tears. This was such a historic, pivotal moment. The possibility of a brilliant and inspiring president after these past 8 years was unimaginable. That he should be African American on top of it all makes it all the greater a gift. I don't know what it's like to be black, but I know that I respect and honor the struggles of people that do know what it's like. Martin Luther King dreamed of a day that people would be judged by "the content of their character" and not by the color of their skin. Maybe, just maybe, Obama's election will be the "dawn's early light" of that day. And maybe, after the sad, terrible politics of hatred, division and distrust we've had since Richard Nixon, that have been weighing down on our country for so long, maybe I can dare to hope again. This election has brought out the worst in many of us. I can only take comfort in knowing that the night is darkest just before the dawn.

When I got to Amendment 2 to the Florida Constitution, it struck me that in order for me to be treated as a complete human being, I had to vote against people that would deny me that. My very dignity, equality and worth were not stuff of a personal nature but rather were basic freedoms that were being challenged. And I had to affirm my dignity, my whole humanity in an election! Amendment 2 is a terrible distortion of the concepts of morality and marriage. Straight marriage doesn't need to be defended from gay relationships. We protect marriage by strengthening the aspects of love, respect and honesty that are central to any marriage. We protect marriage by making ours a better society that doesn't strain and destroy marriages and families by war, the lack of opportunity, financial disaster, divisive politics, inequalities in education or by not providing people that need it with health care.

After I voted, I got in the car and broke down in tears. I didn't quite know why but I suspect that the very significance of those two votes and my emotional attachment were almost too much to bear. Maybe it was the relief at finally being able "to have my say." Maybe it was what I found out about myself during this election process that came flooding into my consciousness then.

What I realized though, was that this was another wake up call for me. I need to redouble my efforts - not against "them" but within myself. I need to live my life without buying into "us" vs. "them" and be the instrument of healing that our country and our world so desperately needs.

I just saw a Video on youtube which if true really throws a different light on McCain. It is called The Truth About McCain and if true would make alot of people think twice. Is it true? If so I wonder why it hasn't been brought out in the open.

Victory is at hand americans are tired of the slanderous attacks, we want real change and all the rantings of the far right will not change this. Much to their chagrin McCain lost this race when he turned his back on middle america and embraced far right minority. I am going to buy the best champagne to celebrate California champagne that is. Go Obama!!!!

How about a little "straight talk" for the so called "straight talk express" candidate:

4 hour lines in Florida for early voting today in the middle of the day. From the lines that were being shown there were only a few older, perhaps retired people. Maybe a few people legitimately work night jobs or just happen to have Friday off.

Give me a break! You know what is going on here. ACORN has lined up all of the minority welfare recipients and they are all voting for Obama. Is the McCain campaign or the RNC doing anything at all about this?

The McCain campaign has become an absolute joke and many of us conservatives are extremely angry. It will take decades for the Republican Party to recover from this disaster!

JUST 2 YEARS OF TORTURE, I'D LIKE TO SEE YOU SURVIVE 2 MINUTES OF TORTURE. MCCAIN CAME OUT OF THIS EXPERIENCE A MUCH HUMBLER MAN. HE SAW OTHERS ACT MORE HEROIC THAN HIMSELF AND THE ONLY REASON HE LIVED WHEN HIS CAPTORS DUMPED HIS BODY IN A CELL TO DIE WAS THE COMPASSION OF HIS FELLOW POW'S, WHO CARED FOR HIM AND DIDN'T LET HIM DIE. HE HAS NEVER FORGOTTEN THAT.

  • Posted By: good conscience @ 10/24/2008 12:28:35 PM

For all you sanctimonious hypocrites who now decry "voter fraud" re: the ACORN issue, why weren't you screaming the same thing in 2000 & 2004 when Rove and company blatantly and defiantly committed voter fraud on a grand scale in order to steal those 2 elections?
If Senator Obama wins, it will be on his own merit. He is a man, remember, and that means capable of making mistakes and exhibiting imperfections. Hope that sounds familiar because we all have those intrinsic, human qualities.
I'm very sick of the crowing and gnashing of teeth so many of these rabid right wingers seem to be reworking and recycling ad nauseam -- McCain the fearless POW. While no one would ever wish any human being to suffer like that, why not, just for once, check your facts. McCain did nothing to correct Fred Thompson's error in his speech at the RNC. Thompson glibly declared that McCain was tortured for 5.5 years. In actuality, it was 2 years. Two years are horrific beyond words, but lets not exaggerate like that. You may also want to do some further fact checking -- McCain loves to make everyone think that he was such a hero, that he saved the hides of his weaker compratiots. In fact, there were about 600 POWs involved, McCain being one of them. Full stop, that's it. When the truth is brought forward it's always much more boring than the lies. That's why exaggeration is the hallmark of McLame's campaign, it's all he has, and it's all he has ever had, or will have. It's downright pitiful.

McCain's only nerve function is happening below his belt (surprisingly still). Maybe he should jump on the Viagra band wagon -- just like Bob Dole -- after losing this election! I mean, he does have the "foxes" on his side.

Obama in this video, addressing his work with ACORN litigation relating to the community reinvestment act and the failure of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, as they relate to the current real estate and financial crisis, states that, and I quote:

"Subprime lending started out as a good idea, helping Americans buy homes who previously could not afford to. Financial institutions created new financial instruments that could securitize these loans, slice them into finer and finer risk categories, and spread them out among investors and around the country, as well as around the world. In theory, this should have allowed mortgage lending to be less risky, and more diversified."

    He further states:

"The original idea was a good one, which was, lets see if we can distribute risk more broadly, and make it easier to provide loans to people who otherwise might not be able to get one."

Listen for yourself. You cannot dispute the mans on words recorded live:

Obama in this second video is campaigning at a convention of Acorn and I believe two other "Community Activist" organizations. Ask if he will be their ally if he becomes President, Obama says, quote:

"Yes, but let me say that before I even get inaugurated, during the transition we are going to be calling all of you in to help us shape the agenda. We're going to be having meetings all across the country with community organizations so that you have input into the agenda for the next presidency of the United States of America."

See and hear it for yourself. Obama promised that Acorn and other groups like it will setting his agenda if elected:

Stating that Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act wasn't what caused the meltdown, and noting that "economists on both sides of the political spectrum have suggested that the act has probably made the crisis less severe than it might otherwise have been."

(oops!) stating that Freddie Mac was spending tax payer money to target Republicans in 2005 who were trying to regulate Fannie and Freddies fraud. Democrats were not targeted, as the were all in the tank with Fannie and Freddie to kill the regulations. Hear that, the article admits that Republicans were trying to regulate Freddie and Fannie, and Democrats were trying to stop it from happening as a means to facilitate the Community Reinvestment Act.

Yeah, that is what they said when Bush won too.....we should just stay home....

Its not over till its over.....while it may look like a lost cause....its been done before....Obama is an evil man, socialist, communist who has terrorist ties.....EVEN IF elected.....you betcha....people will ALWAYS be out to take him down.....one way or another....He will NOT be liked at all.....and those in high places that wanted Hillary in there.....instead of him....will block things he wants to do.....as a revenge.....even within his OWN PARTY.....When he doesnt do all he has promised....and there is NO WAY he can ....there will be rising up of the people who voted for him.....they will DEMAND answers and for accountability.....when they do NOT get it....cities will burn probably....there will be MANY mad people out there....those who actually believed him......which, I don't.....Biden has already told us....prepare to be attacked if Obama is elected....but...he said other things too.....that we will need to influence our communities....during the this attack....sorry....but if you are ATTACKED from the OUTSIDE.....everyone will stand together....so this means....he is going to instill communism or socialism and people are going to REVOLT WITHIN THE US...not outside it !!!!! HE will then instill martial law to suppress the voices....this is what Biden means by...."We will have to make unpopular choices, but stand with us and behind us even though you THINK we are WRONG".....Ummm ? If you are so well prepared....why would we think you are WRONG? Biden also says to "gird our lions".....why are WE going to be FIGHTING? Where is our military....OR are we EVEN GOING TO HAVE ONE with him in power? AND IF he cannot handle this coming "crisis" no better than that.....WHY ELECT THIS MAN? He is a SECURITY THREAT to America NOW !!!!!! At first it ....HOPE...CHANGE...PEACE ....ect....Now its ....PROMISED ATTACKS.....You will have to FIGHT....STAND BEHIND US RIGHT OR WRONG......I thought the WORLD WAS GOING TO LOVE US with him as President ...that is what he TOLD US ? That we would be MORE SECURE? AND now....they are saying NO....?????? More LIES....ALL OF IT !!!! Better vote for a WAR HERO !!!! Better chose McCain....

Obama is NOW saying that this was a general statement....BUT NO, actually it WAS NOT....he SPECIFICALLY SAID....."IF OBAMA is elected....this will happen" "Mark His Words...." ect....and why is he SO SURE? Scary .....My "lions are girded" its McCain for me !!!!

I hate that you're from Ohio but he was a prisoner and while he served he should get that respect but oviously it doesn't make him smart. It doesn't make him a hero and it doesn't make him a leader. Heck if he had been smart followed his instructions he wouldn't have been shot down.
