So.... Obama let's Biden out of his cage for five minutes and what does he do? He makes a dire, "mark my words" prediction that "we will face an international crisis" within six months of Obama taking office!

Wow. I'll bet Obama's is dancing in the streets over that one!

And you left-wing nuts make fun of Palin.... LMAO

    • Posted By: CharInOhio @ 10/22/2008 8:52:38 PM

Oh yes....HOARDS of reasons to vote for Obama....cause....we ALL want America to be attacked right? Well.....I guess if you are friends with Ayers you do....but most of us.....well, we dont travel in "those circles"..... :) So my guess is....they are going to PLAN for the US to be attacked so him and Obama can be "heroes" and "save us all" so those who DONT trust them......will do so....then they can revert to Communism...... Biden said that...."we will need to influence our communites"....IF we were attacked FROM THE OUTSIDE....why would this be necessary? It sounds to me like , they are going to instill martial law and suppress our voices.....or not going to do things they promised and people will REVOLT against the government and we will go to martial law ????? Whichever....it doesnt sound good !!!! Now they are saying...."that isnt what they meant".....and they didnt say "IF OBAMA BECOMES ELECTED" ...which they CLEARLY DID JUST THAT !!!!! A LIE !!!!! When people began getting scared at what Biden said....they CHANGED what they said.....just like Obama "didnt know" about that church....or "didnt know about Ayers" then later said...."he thought he had rehabilitated" ....so umm yes? He DID KNOW !!!! Again LIAR !!!! Everything they DO WRONG....they DENY and CHANGE THE WORDS and say that "isnt what they meant" or ....."They didn't know".....The Little Boy Who Cried Wolf.....just is NOT believable any more...IF you believed him AT ALL...which, I for one NEVER DID !!!!

Biden says...."they will have to make unpopular decisions" and "to just keep standing by them and supporting them EVEN THOUGH YOU THINK ITS WRONG".......Ummm ???? ARE THEY SERIOUS? What ARE they TALKING ABOUT ? And what does "we will need you to influence your communities" REALLY mean? Are they going to pass around poison kool aid like Jonestown ? They are saying WE WILL BE UNHAPPY WITH THEIR DECISIONS.....what happened to HOPE AND CHANGE ????????? They say we WILL DEFINITELY BE ATTACKED WITH OBAMA AS PRESIDENT ....."Mark my words" says Biden......so you are PROMISING US WE WILL BE ??????? Nice campaign tactic there Joe !!!!!! ?????

What ever happened to "we will be a safer US under Obama"?????? Doesnt sound to me like that is going to be the case ??????? Scary to say the least !!!!!! Let's just NOT vote for "That One"

      • Posted By: ming @ 10/23/2008 4:42:32 PM

You talk like a bozo. Do you not realize there is a chance America will be attacked again anyway. If Mccain wins, what do you people think will happen? His temper and his diminishing brain function is not a good combination to handle a situation diplomatically. Gone are the days when America was the most powerful and technologically advanced nations. We push a button, others can too. You had better get on your knees and pray the next president will have a cool and calm demeanor, not some crazed hothead.

Palin is an idiot and America's fascination with her is a symptom of how out of touch a significant portion of the population is with reality.

    • Posted By: Pocolodi @ 10/21/2008 8:38:32 AM

Idiot? She isn't going around telling the world that she "guarantees we will have an international crisis within six months" if McCain is elected!

      Whose side is Biden on?

      • Posted By: Doc Howl @ 10/23/2008 4:19:03 PM

That isn't what he said. Why do you lie?

    not much left for McCain

The Most Complete Political Incorrect Political Analysis Of Sarah Palin.

By Jordan C. Fan, Prophet Of Environment.

Sarah Plin has four eyes therefore she should have no problems winning the most important Battle Ground Buckeye State - Ohio. Since Palin is from the West, those battle ground states such as Alaska, Oregon, Hawaii and Washington State can be won more easily by Republicans. There is also potentials for a California victory which will definitely be decisive on the whole election. Obama as born in Hawaii, Obama's defeat there will be his greatest humiliation. Alaska is on of the biggest oil producing state. When oil drilling is the nmber one issue in this election, being a governor of Alaska will certainly help. Alaska is also the last remaining wilderness of the U. S. A. It will be a good opportunity for the Republican to show their concerns of the Environment by using her. Palin is a woman therefore will attract women voters. She is young, very pretty with great sex appeal to straight men and lesbian women. Her pregnant teenage daughter will draw sympathy from those who were teenage unwed mothers and pro-life anti-abortion voters. Single mothers will also be attracted to the Republican Party. She represents traditional White families of Puritan values as opposed to those predominately single parent unwed mother type Black families. Neither McCain nor Palin are political correct. They only speak the truth and are very "genuine, what you see is what you get!" as quoted from the Alaskan Republican Convention delegates. She represents White people who have been displaced from the lower 48 states due to crimes and harassment from Blacks there. Those White people have little or no choice but to seek Northern Exposure living in Alaska for peace and quiet. They will certainly revenge Black intimidation and harassment. McCain's situations is quite similar. After the Civil War, the U. S. was destabilized by its Black minority. The only way to unite this country was to destabilize other nations and the world. To achieve that goal, the U. S. had to invade other countries such as Vietnam. McCain was a pawn and victim of such U. S. aggression. He certainly will blame African American for that. Palin was the military commander of the Alaskan Air National Guard which are useful experience for a future Commander-in-Chief of this country because Alaska is bordering Russia and near China and Japan with one fourth of all U. S. nuclear missiles located in that state. McCain who was also a professional soldier himself will feel comfortable working with Palin. Among both Republican and Democratic Party tickets Palin is the only one with executive and administrative experience . All other candidates McCain, Obama and Biden have only legislative experience

This has to be one of the most ridiculous comments I have heard during this whole election. You sould like a skin head or a klansmen. Fact one there are plenty of blacks in Alaska too. Fact teo: even if they start drill today you wouldn't see that oil for another 4 or 5 years so it doesn't help the immediate problem. Fact three: the oil coming out of alaska goes to Japan not here in the lower 48. Fact 4 she don't look that good but if that's your opinion so be it. Fact 5 you mixed her unwed pregant daught with unwed black mothers, what's the difference? Fact 6 we didn't invade Vietnam. I won't go any further but if you have a problem with blacks which sound like more of your infeirority complex then that's what you need to talk about. It sounds like you are mad because Obama comes across more intellegent than McCain and I guess every black you have come across must seem to you as more intellegent than you too. I live around blacks, hespanics and asians and I don't fear any of them. You talk about capitalism which means competion but as long as you control it or have it your way with an unfair leg up.

It is the bigotry that you are displaying that makes this whole election sickening. You don't speak about our country which should be your concern but rather your own twisted view of how things should be. The constitution begins with "We the people..." Not We the White people, but I think that is the way you would have it.

    Taxes:

-Those making between $250,000 and $400,000 annually will have less than $1,500 increase in their taxes. (These people are not complaining. Joe is not one of these people.)

-Those making more than $3 Million annually will pay only 23%.

This will PAY FOR the tax cuts given to the middle class.
This WILL NOT INCREASE THE DEFICIT!

    Calculate your taxcut: http://taxcut.barackobama.com/

    ...................

McCain has a Santa Clause approach to tax cutting. He wants to make cuts, but has not identified how it will be paid for. This will never pass Congress.

People on these bogs are fond of saying that the current economic meltdown was caused by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac underwriting bad mortgages. While Fannie and Freddie obviously are guilty of writing bad mortgages, and worse, guilty of lobbying Congress to allow them to do so with impunity, their actions are just a small piece of the puzzle when it comes to determining who (or what) caused the financial crisis we face today.

In 1929 the stock market crash caused the banks to fail, because the banks were in bed with the stock market. Back then, banks owned investment houses, so when the stock market fell, the banks fell too. This triggered the Great Depression. So in 1933 the Congress wrote laws that regulated banking, making it illegal for banks to own investment companies, mortgage guaranty companies or insurance companies. The idea was to keep key industries separated by a fire wall, so that if one industry failed the whole economy would not go down in flames.

But the Republicans under Bush deregulated the banking industry. Senator Phil Gramm wrote legislation (the Gramm Rudman Act, the Gramm Leach Biley Act, etc.) that stripped away the regulations in the financial and insurance industies. He pushed them through the Republican Congress and they were signed into law by Geo. W. Bush. John McCain voted in favor. Everybody said how great it is to deregulate and create free markets.

Lehman Brothers, Bear Stearns and Merrill Lynch each gave over a million dollars to Senator Gramm's re-election campaign.

The economic collapse that happened later was a direct result of the deregulation, and here's how: the banks wrote bad mortgages, then bundled the mortgages into investment vehicles that they sold all over the world, and they even got firms like AIG to insure the investments. It was all a house of cards.

If there had been no deregulation, sure we would have had a bunch of bad mortgages, and the mortgage guaranty and real estate industries would have suffered, but there would not have been a global financial meltdown, since the problem would have been contained in one sector of the economy. You can thank Geo W. Bush, Sen. Phil Gramm and Sen John McCain for the meltdown, since they were strong proponents of deregulation.

Furthermore, although Fannie and Freddie are now holding the bulk of these bad mortgages, Fannie and Freddie did not originally write most of these mortgages. They bought them after the fact, bundled by banks/investment companies. Fannie and Freddie got screwed by the Wall Street fat cats. And so did you, if you pay taxes.

What is Phil Gramm doing today? He works as a lobbyist in Washington, trying to make it legal for the Swiss bank he represents to sell Death Bonds in the United States. Nice guy, Phil Gramm. Incidentally, John McCain has said that he wants to appoint Phil Gramm as Treasury Secretary. Some people just can't learn from their mistakes.

It saddens me to watch this mess I call picking a leader. All I am hearing is that "Your candidate is worst than my candidate." .Both "you guys" are in trouble. If Obama losts than there will be riots on the streets. If Obama wins there will be riots on the streets. In a nation with so many problems, to spend so much on an election is sad. I wish Columbus would have sailed over the edge and not found us.

    • Posted By: NJ-BJ @ 10/20/2008 3:39:36 PM

Sorry, but I must disagree that if Obama loses there will be riots. African Americans have been receiving bad news during elections for 200 years. Many of those years we could not even vote, but seldom does it lead to rioting. Will there be disappointment, yes. Riots? no. Perhaps you've listening to too many republicans. :)
      (Just kidding)
As well run as Obama's campaign has been run, do you think he/they would chance something like that? Everyone knows African Americans receive NO benefit from riots. Besides, Obama will want to run again in 4 years. - If you feel this is incorrect, please provide examples of why you think riots are likely. - Thanks.

In 4 years I might vote for Obama. Once he has some experience. 10 months in the senate doesn't cut it for me, sorry. McCain isn't a good choice either, and Palin sure was a mistake. . .maybe, but Oh well, we have always been at the mercy of the political parties and who THEY choose to LET us vote on for president.

        • Posted By: CommonJoe @ 10/22/2008 10:53:21 PM

Sarah Palin is more qualified to be president than all of the senators combined. Sarah has what is called executive experience. She has actually had to work within a budget, not just creating one. Remember that when you make comments like the one you posted

          • Posted By: JustBTru @ 10/23/2008 1:17:08 PM

Whew! CommonJoe, you really need to get out more, possibly read some newspapers, get a job perhaps and try paying some of your bills. Are you related to George Bush? Get your head out of the sand.

        • Posted By: NJ-BJ @ 10/20/2008 5:06:51 PM

Kimmee111. I respect your point, but after 8 years of experienced leadership, I don't think we can afford that kind of experience.
Eight years of rule by some with experience as a Governer of Texas has the country bring the world to brink of financial disaster, the US involved in 2 wars, and questionably able to take on a third if North Korea or Iran should flare up; the dollar at it's lowest point and the country paying HUGE dollars for oil.
I think we need a BIG change. Obama might not have the most experience, but at least he TALKS about the middle class. John McCain has never held a job which wasn't a government job.
I'm going to take my chance with the guy who can get help from Warren Buffet and the CEO of Google. If how the candidates run their campaign is any indication of how they will run the country, I'll go for the one which is organized, not lurching from "game changer" to "game changer". Sorry.

    • Posted By: CommonJoe @ 10/22/2008 10:50:33 PM

Don't be saddened. If McCain loses, there will be no riots in the streets. Only Democrats and militants get that angry. Conservatives would just protest in an intelligent civilized manner.

McCain may say he's not Bush, but he sure campaigns just like him!

I live in Florida and the robocalling is just horrible here. I've had 17 calls in two days! I've also had horrible flyers with partial-birth abortions left on my doorstep and fake "pollsters" who pretend to be doing a survey but then actually smear Obama. "Knowing the Obama is a Muslim, how has this affected your vote?"

Bush did the EXACT same things in 2004! Even the flyers that we got were basically the same. Last time, they said Bush/Cheney, and this time it mostly just mentions Palin.

I'm sick of this. I thought McCain was a better man than this.Whatever he once stood for is completely gone now -- he's just another Bush. I'm voting Democratic for the first time ever because the Republicans have just completely screwed up the country. And Palin is just an idiot and a racist.

I'm so ashamed to have ever been a Republican!!

Obama's view of the future of America - Socialism which is the next step to Communism!! He admitted to Joe the Plumber than he wanted to spread the wealth! He said that he wanted to make everyone equal! Is America ready for Socialism? The Iranian president, Ahmadinejad, said today that he is glad to see the end to capitalism in America!! Are you glad?????
    ====================================================================================================

Under socialism a ruling class of intellectuals, bureaucrats and social planners decide what people want or what is good for society and then use the coercive power of the State to regulate, tax, and redistribute the wealth of those who work for a living. In other words, socialism is a form of legalized theft.

The morality of socialism can be summed-up in two words: envy and self-sacrifice. Envy is the desire to not only possess another's wealth but also the desire to see another's wealth lowered to the level of one's own. Socialism's teaching on self-sacrifice was nicely summarized by two of its greatest defenders, Hermann Goering and Bennito Mussolini. The highest principle of Nazism (National Socialism), said Goering, is: "Common good comes before private good." Fascism, said
Mussolini, is "a life in which the individual, through the sacrifice of his own private interests??realizes that completely spiritual existence in which his value as a man lies."

Socialism is the social system which institutionalizes envy and self-sacrifice: It is the social system which uses compulsion and the organized violence of the State to expropriate wealth from the producer class for its redistribution to the parasitical class.

Despite the intellectuals' psychotic hatred of capitalism, it is the only moral and just social system.

Capitalism is the only moral system because it requires human beings to deal with one another as traders--that is, as free moral agents trading and selling goods and services on the basis of mutual consent.

Capitalism is the only just system because the sole criterion that determines the value of thing exchanged is the free, voluntary, universal judgement of the consumer. Coercion and fraud are anathema to the free-market system.

It is both moral and just because the degree to which man rises or falls in society is determined by the degree to which he uses his mind. Capitalism is the only social system that rewards merit, ability and achievement, regardless of one's birth or station in life.

Yes, there are winners and losers in capitalism. The winners are those who are honest, industrious, thoughtful, prudent, frugal, responsible, disciplined, and efficient. The losers are those who are shiftless, lazy, imprudent, extravagant, negligent, impractical, and inefficient. How moral and just was the 700 billion bailout?? Are all minds created equal? Are some born with greater advantages than others. Advantages that because of a lack of morals can be used unfairly?. Does the person that's born in poverty have the same opportunities as someone born into a very wealthy family? I would bet if truth be known a lot of those hard-working pull-yourself-up-by-your-own -bootstraps capitalist
got a whole lot of something for nothing from somebody! Like 700 billion taxdollars from hard-working taxpayers including socialist.
I don't think now is a good time to be preachin' good ol' free-market capitalism nor to believe it has ever really existed!!
Maybe some time on wikipedia learning a little more than political rhetoric would be useful.

Seeker -- you sound like you have a bad case of class envy. Hate won't get you very far. I and my family were poor but now we are successful because of hard work and persistence. Don't give up Seeker. Remember-- a government that can give you anything you want can take everything you have.

The trouble is under the corrupted version of capitalism you have now is a system twisted to benefit a very small percentage of the population. Its so obvious to see that there shouldn't even be a need to dicuss it any more it should just be fixed. And not by those who ruined it.

      • Posted By: CommonJoe @ 10/22/2008 11:20:43 PM

Do you mean Barney Frank and Christopher Dodd. Those are the ones who ruined it.

Then I tell you what Jim. When you see your personal income increase because Obama lowered your taxes... give it back.

If you were arguing against the concentration of power as felt by individuals, you'd make more sense: Stalin and Mao from the "left" (supposedly the people taking over government power) and Hitler and Mussolini from the "right" (corporate interests taking over government power). But countries like Norway are not further towards the Soviet Union or Nazi Germany compared to the US today... on average the economic and political system leaves people in less fear there than here, where honest, hard working people can still wind up losing their home or health care.

For Americans, there's nothing really like an Adam Smith free-market for health care, and numerous other parts of the economy are sufficiently close to oligopolies or lack good information to make trades fairly: wealth trickles up from the people who do the work to Wall Street, larger companies, insurance companies, etc. America has a philosophic and partially real foundation in "yeoman farmers," where each person owned the means of production they needed to use, later in union jobs where workers could afford what they produced: balanced free markets where corporations and three branches of government were all counterbalanced. If you think that Walmart or Kaiser operate in a free market, please read Adam Smith again! The robber barons (between the yeoman farmer stage and the union jobs) did tremendous damage to free markets ["laissez faire" doesn't mean "free markets"] and hoarded wealth they hadn't earned: America did much better after we (through the government) busted the monopolies.

In the 60's, US conservatives seemed fiscally conservative and liberals wanted to help the ordinary person but wouldn't study reality. Starting with Reagan and getting every worse, the Republicans today have discovered that pulling out the credit card is just as much fun for a government as a for an individual. Unfettered markets have become an ideology, even when it is obvious that without government setting some boundaries, the game isn't fair or anything like Adam Smith's imagined Free Markets. Democrats got their butts kicked politically, and in the process, seem to have learned some lessons: the boom under Clinton and the crash under Bush are not accidents.

Do these words mean anything to "someone"? Keating 5, Red Cross drugs, Killing Santa's reindeer in Alaska...

  • Posted By: JustBTru @ 10/23/2008 12:55:33 PM

These are my words for the Republicans: Keating 5; Red Cross drugs; Killing Stanta's reindeer in Alaska, nothing else needs to be said

Oh, yeah, one more thing you can guarantee the GOP will do is post a heightened terror alert just before the election, to try to get out the fear vote. Probably magically find a "new" message from bin Laden also just before the election. When you can't win on issues, sow fear!

  • Posted By: WidernessVoice @ 10/23/2008 10:55:13 AM

Do not worry, the Florida GOP will do what they always do - rig the vote, cheat, find new "hanging chads" and steal the election. If you can't get them to vote for you from Rovian fear tactics, just steal the votes!

they will surely lose florida. Obama is just too organised for them to handle.

The One and only issue in this election is: Whether The U. S. Naval Academy should remain in Annapolis, Maryland?

By: Jordan C. Fan, Prophet Of Environment.

An important presidential election record will be broken this year, it is not the first time a woman or Black person will be elected to the Executive office. We will be seeing the greatest American tragedy unfolding right before our eyes. It is one of the rare occasions when a native son will not be elected by his own state. To make it worse, such native son is the greatest hero in an area which has always been the pride and joy of that state. Correct me if I am wrong. I have hardly heard any one at the Repulican Convention or during their campaign mentioned the Annapolis Naval Academy, not even McCain himself. Being born in Panama to a naval family and travel all over this country and the world, McCain really does not have a true home. Arizona is a state he used for election to Congress which he has not visited frequently. The Navy Academy is the only place McCain can really call his home in which he had spent the happiest time of his college life with his navy friends. Maryland should welcome her naval son with open arms and elect him as president.

Unfortunately! Maryland have 1.6 million Black or approximately 30 % of the state's population making it the "Black Capital" near of the real Capital of the nation. It was 36 % to 61% (almost double) in favor of Obama over Hillary during the primary here. All media and people in Maryland have expressed the sad fact that little or no Marylanders will vote for McCain. I personally don't like McCain very much but my conscience forced me to campaign for him. This episode is not only the greatest disgrace of all Americans but also of that of the human race. It is an unforgivable sin committed by all Marylanders especially its Black racists. I am making suggestion to our Government to relocate its Naval Academy out of Maryland. The true and only battle ground states, for this election, are not Ohio, Florida or Michigan but Maryland. The decision is not who is going to become president? But whether God had made a mistake in creating man?

With this letter I have ended this election right here and now! All of you should know that it will be impossible for Obama to win without Maryland.

You are a racist, fascist nut job with way too much time on your hands. Are you off your meds?

  • Posted By: carl6352 @ 10/20/2008 9:26:37 AM

hey kerry was 10 points ahead of bush. gore was 8% ahead. now osama is only 5%. every year you people do these stories hoping republicans will stay home and not vote. wrong most of intelleigent republicans which far surpasses democrats. hang up on poll callers. when its time to vote we go in a orderly fashion and vote. since we make a very high percentage of real voters we win. i can see a tight race macain will win just over 50% and have just enough of the electoral college. it always happens. there are alot more educated republicans than democrats who see thru the media. fox is the only station who actually went out and checked on the collapse of the fannies and the democrats complicity in the mess. even clinton said democrats bare most of the blame. they then have the gaul to actuall take credit for the bail out . and take a 10 page ideal ointo a ny phone book while adding almost 200billion in pork product. this is why you people are loosing subscriptions. you are biased and educated people see it as pure propaganda. tass anyone?

To carl6352 - using the "osama" note in youor comments only shows your ignorance.

Well -- Obama did say "in my Muslim religion" on George Stephanopolus. George had to correct him after his gaffe. I don't know, I don't ever recalling misstating my religion. Just seems strange to me.

You are all (Republicans) so angry...like McCain and Palin! Temper, Temper Temper!!!

      • Posted By: CommonJoe @ 10/23/2008 1:34:24 AM

No NO! The Democrats like Carville predict riots in the streets if Barack doesn't win. That is someone in your own Democrat party. I think Carville is fear mongering.
