With one of the highest rates of home foreclosures in the country, plus the retirement funds of all those seniors losing values, plus one of the highest % of residents lacking health insurance, it's just three of many reasons for turning this state's angry faces from red to blue in 2008!

After 9/11, the US government started rounding up Muslims without cause and without due process of law, and put them in prison camps like we did to the Japanese Americans in WWII. The Bush administration called it's main internment camp Guantanamo Bay. While there are certainly many guilty terrorists held in Guantanamo, there are also many innocent American citizens who have been held illegally for years without even being charged with any crime. They have been tortured by our government. Some of them have died.

Recently the Supreme Court ruled against the Bush administration in the matter of Guantanamo Bay. The Supreme Court Justices were NOT on the side of the terrorists. They were on the side of the Geneva Convention, that says you can not torture POWs, and on the side of US laws that state you can not imprison a person without charging them with a crime and bringing them to trial. I'm sure that like most Americans, the Justices who voted against the illegal, immoral doings at Guantanamo didn't feel sympathy for the terrorists. They felt sympathy for the laws of AMERICA, the land of the FREE, where even rat finks get a fair trial.

Meanwhile, back in Iraq, the Bush administration is busy trying to build a smokescreen to hide the CRIMES they have committed. Those pesky weapons of mass destruction. Just think, the National Debt went up over 6 trillion dollars under Bush. More than 2 trillion of it went directly into the pockets of Halliburton, a corporation owned by the Cheney family. Halliburton is now a DUBAI corporation and therefore is not subject to US taxes. All that money they took out of the US Treasury is going into the coffers of a MUSLIM country.

Did you hear about how the US government is being charged millions for Halliburton deliveries of sand into Iraq from Kuwait? Sand. Like there is a shortage of sand in Iraq? Another contractor shipped sand from Idaho to Iraq at our expense. Nobel prize winning economist Joseph Stiglitz discusses these and other excesses of our current government's out of control spending in Iraq.

Your grandchildren will be working like slaves to pay off this debt, so that the Bushes and Cheneys can live the high life in Dubai.

Yeah, they're patriots, Bush&Co. They wear flag pins. And hide the money they stole from America in Dubai.

And they want me to believe that Obama is a socialist. Right.

In case you think McCain is any different than Bush, watch this:

I'm sorry people but if McCain and his (running mate , oink oink) hadn't started this smear campaign in the first place, Obama wouldn't have had to defend himself. This campaign is getting way out of hand and the real issues are not being discussed properly. Who cares who went where with whom and who knows who. The real issues here are the economy and the state of this nation. Get down to business guys and stop bickering.

What is meant by being too dangerous for America? That he's not impetuous? That he is not aligned with the policies that have brought us to the despondency the American people face day to day now? Seriously, I respect the opinion of others that Obama has had little experience in politics, as far as years are concerned, but dangerous for America? I'm beginning to think that's the only thing he is not.

People voted for Bush over Kerry because "better the devil you know, than the devil that you don't." That got us really far, didn't it.

Did you catch the part that Harry Sargeant III one on McCain's TOP fundraisers in Florida was accused of overcharging OUR government for fuel deliveries in Iraq by his contaracting company????????

We are spendign $10 billion a month. Somebody is indeed getting rich and it looks like its McCain's friends. No wonder he supports the war.

Did you miss the part where Harry Sargeant III, oneof McCain's top fundraisers in Florida was accused of overcharging OUR government for fuel deliveries in Iraq by his contractin company ??

$10 billion a month we are spending in Iraq.

Colin Powell believes Obama has credentials to be Commander in Chief . Powell's credentials? former Secretary of State, former Joint Chiefs of Staff, former National Security Advisor ALL UNDER Republican presidents.

Colin said McCain's campaign too negative and Palin NOT QUALIFIED.

Republicans are leaving their party like rats jumping from a sinking ship. There is a reason Colin Powel endorsed Obama, its because he is not an angry ,tired, old Bush/Cheney clone like McCain.

The choice is simple. Follow an unproven, unyielding commodiity and you will go broke. That untested and unproven product is Senator Obama. For all the talk of Ayers, Wright and all his scary friends, look at his family tree. Obama is someone who will bring this country down. Look at his record. His past will show you how he will lead. If voting present doesn't bother you. If being aloof is something you consider presidential. Look up his connection to Raila Odinga, from Kenya. Obama too dangerous for America.

mcdeere72, you're right. It's fair game. Let's talk about McCain's association with Gordon Liddy or Joseph "Joe Bananas" Bonano, can we say MAFIA. Now, let's take a look at his personal life, his wife stole prescription pads from her doctor for her addiction. Please don't get me started on Palin. She believes marriage is tradionally between a man and a woman, I can agree with that, so I guess since she got pregnant before she got married, her daughter is following HER tradition. You see, I believe every politican has something to hide, but like you said, it's fair game, so let's bring it all out. McCain/Palin were the first to take shots at Obama, classy right? I see all of this as truly sad. McCain had my vote, but due to his erractic behavior (anger management issues) and his 15 minute interview with Palin which made him decide to chose her as his running mate (Walmart has a longer interview process) sealed my vote to Obama.

Who "Joe the plumber" may be is not the issue, though it's easy to see why the Dems want it to be. That's because the real issue is what Obama's comments to him revealed about Obama. In the exchange with "Joe the plumber" we find out that Obama really is as radical as his early political acquaintances, Davis, Ayers, Wright, etc., and that he is into the failed economic policy of wealth redistribution. Obama's tax and spending plans alone would be bad enough, but add Reid and Pelosi to the mix, with the three of them controlling both houses of Congress and the executive branch without any effective restraint, and you have something that should causes concern even among moderate Democrats.
See Wall Street Journal: A Liberal Supermajority:

    http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122420205889842989.html

And whether McCain won or lost the third debate is also not relevant. He succeeded in the first half hour to plant the seeds of a Reagan style wipeout. Reputable historians and economists overwhelmingly agree that the taxation imposed by Hoover and FDR, and the "stimulus" spending and public works programs of FDR, actually deepened and prolonged the Great Depression. It was the production demands of WWII that got the economy going again. And when the war was over, the economy promptly went into recession.

    See e.g. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/10/03/opinion/main4499465.shtml
    And
    http://newsroom.ucla.edu/portal/ucla/FDR-s-Policies-Prolonged-Depression-5409.aspx

Point is, Obama's programs are to tax, and it does not really matter who he taxes, those taxes are going to be passed through the economy. He has to tax, because it is they only way he can pay for his massive social engineering experiments. Any first year economics student knows that taxation is a tool used to contract an economy experiencing inflation, because it reduces demand by reducing the amount of money individuals and businesses have to spend. It is contractionary, which is exactly what you do not want to do when the problem is that the economy is contracting already into recession. Like Hoover and FDR, Obama's plans will only make it worse for longer.

Look and listen for yourself. Hear Obama in his own words discusses his links to both ACORN and the mortgage meltdown, and praises bundling and securitizing mortgages by banks as a means to float loans to the poor. Never mind the link commentators point of view, just listen to what Obama says in his own words. A picture is worth a thousand words. Maybe more in the case of the last half of the second link.

The link below contains a purported list of the top 25 in Congress who got contributions from the folks at Fannie and Freddie. Obama is listed third, after Dodd and Kerry, even though Obama is just a junior Senator. Obama is followed next by Clinton. Barney Frank and Nancy Pelosi are on the list as well.

It's really starting to be sad that in this country if your not white, your black, and NEITHER MR. Obama or Mr Powell is 100% black, is this how people of color are looked at? i mean seriously none of us are truly 100% anything, and if we want to be real technical lets all leave and give America back to its rightful owners, Native Americans.

Unfortunately this isn't the first time the general crossed party lines. . .I hope it had nothing to do with race. It is odd, however, that he donated money to the McCain campaign and not to Obama. Also he spoke falsely about Obama being a christian ALL his life. He was not, by his own admission, he became a christian when he began attending Rev. Wright's church. I am not saying ANYTHING about his being a muslim or any other faith. It does not matter. . .we are a free country, well at least in writing anyway. He has done a good job at not answering any question or just giving a little info to keep the uneducated masses happy. Today I red a big stink about McCain and his medical records. He gave 1200 pages of records, Obama gave one, and it wasn't even a record. It was his Dr. stating he was healthy. The GOP may be whining, but the double standards of the media is a bitter bill to swallow.

      • Posted By: wgoin @ 10/20/2008 2:58:08 PM

Actually, kimmee111, he became a Christian before attending Wright's church. But, Powell was right, all of his religious beliefs have been Christian. And, Powell has rarely crossed party lines. McCain, the Christian who espouses family values, fails to talk about his adultry with Cindy - but of course so do you!

        • Posted By: mcdeere72 @ 10/20/2008 5:51:13 PM

Why is it that when things are brought up by people about Barack's past "dealings" everyone pushes it under the rug? Ayers, ACORN and Wright. These are all things that are in Obama's past and most say they shouldn't matter. Then when McCain's mistakes from 20 years ago are brought up they must be remembered and show how tainted he is? Barack's associations are less than 20 years old so why aren't they free game just like McCain's life seems to be?
