C-SPAN THIRD PARTY VP DEBATED NOVEMBER 2

  • Posted By: Nowforthetruth @ 10/25/2008 5:03:24 PM

Cuba, Vietnam. Laos, Cambodia, Iran, Nicaragua, Somalia, Iraq. Let our friends, allies and the innocents die, by the millions if necessary. Just so long as they are not Americans. We are the Democratic Party, and for 50 years, from the Bay of Pigs to the Basra Highway and beyond, we have never met a fight we could not pressure our government to run away from, or friends and allies we could not abandon. It's the story of our generation. Only the French are more defeatist than we, but together America, we can change that and become number one. And its change we can believe in. Come on America, and vote Democrat. Together, we can re-live that pride we haven't felt since the 1970's. If we just blindly pull together, we really can make this like it is Jimmy Carter's lost second term. Yes we can!

    DDear Newsweek

    Allowing the publishing of articles

    http://www.newsweek.com/id/164512

Authored by obviously rabidly anti present establishment, Mark Hosenball, Newsweek has established it self as best irresponsible editorially and at worst insulting to its subscribers who are looking for intelligent and balance takes on present situation. Shame on you, you have diminished the great contributors like Fareed Zakaria, Jonathan Alter, Mark Isikoff by your momentary sway to the left. I hope you realize that loosing objectivity is a prelude to becoming tabloid publication.

    Sincerely

    A Faithful Subscriber

Talk about spinning. Usually the reason behind standing down on provocations was because the fear of a hawkish president being elected. Now the spinner want you to believe that it is the other way around. European uniting behind USA! I thought Obama was the one who want to talk with Amadinejad. Hmm, Mr Hosenball, I bet you are voting for Barak Hussein so that Iran fundamentalist will be quaking in their pants. Why because he will be talking them until they give in with the absolute help of the European. Viva La Europeans for USA.

I think that Iran had better keep their long noses out of our business in Iraq. If not, the U.S. should wait until the reactor is up and running and then go in and bomb Tehran.

We've SO blown any credibility in that region because of Bush & Cheney that I'm surprised that Iran isn't just coming right out and saying that they are doing this, tha,t or the other thing to push our buttons and laugh in our faces. If McCain/Palin get elected, all hell will bust loose there.

Thanks to the Bush and Chaney, the Iranians do not have to train or support anyone in Iraq anylonger because Iraq is already theirs. The Iraq government is completely alligned with Iran in religion, politics, and in their hate for America. Invading Iraq was a mistake from day one and the worst mistake was in thinking that Iraq would be free and democratic. It is not and will soon (after the west) is removed just become a twin country to Iran and run by regious fanatics. Regarding Afganistan, they don't have to do much since the military and secret service in Pakistan is already giving the Taliban all they need to fight the West, from safe refuge in the tribal areas to arms and intelligence. Moreover, Pakistan is also a failed state that will sooner or later just alley itself with the religious fatics in Iran. All muslum countries in the region aspire to have a region that is totally dominated by fanatic religious leaders that want a region living in the 7th. century and their desire is to eventually turn the entire world into a muslum nut house.

I think its quite right that Iran waiting to see the end of America election , in the mater of Iraq, yes, they dont need to do anything until withdrawing of US forces from Iraq & begin to supply and support their favourite group to win in political fight,to legitimate their presence .In Afghanistan , unstable situation can help Iran to impose its political desire in negotiations with EU & US-NATO forces.

If a comment poster would list our Military intelligence as the reference point for their post

They'ed be laughed off the board.

The military IS the pentagon and it's Military Intelligence "FINDS" whatever
the administration wants them to find.

And here they are reporting to us that they have indeed found something but that they
aren't exactly sure what it is,,,,but that they're pretty sure it isn't WMD.

I suspect that this piece is from EITHER McCain or Obama's campaign.,,,,if it's from
Obama's campaing the "message" is far too subliminal for any McCain voter that
Obama might be trying to win over for them to fathom.

If it's a McCain campaign spot it's as incoherent as McCain himself in any message
    that they're trying to deliver.

a new administration would provide iran with an opportunity to compromise without losing face. for that matter, it would allow the u.s. to compromise without losing face. "doing damage in our backyard" would bring the kind of unlimited retaliation that saddam eventually dealt with. but "doing damage in iran's back yard" has been far more costly than it has been WORTH.

a more nixonian approach would not only allow, but REQUIRE states like iran, turkey, and pakistan to start bearing some of the BURDEN of keeping peace in iraq, instead of just giving them reasons for destroying the peace there. remember???vietnam wasn't just about vietnam. it was about china, russia, japan, thailand, indonesia???the entire region. we now have a treaty of peace with vietnam. something worth thinking about.

bush has quietly shifted to a kissinger-orchestrated nixonian approach in the mid east, and its paying dividends. he has also flagrantly passed the ball to obama, who is at least an avid a student of nixon as kissinger ever was.

you remember nixon???the guy who desperately tried to warn old bush not to take sides in the middle east in 1990 in the first place.

Iran's changing levels of activity are independent of outside events and are more a function of they think is worth their while and what is in their best interests. As a Shiite nation they have no intrinsic allegiance to a Sunni extremist group like the Taliban. Remember they orginally helped us in Afghanistan. They are sworn enemies of Al Qaeda. As far as Iraq is concerned, they need do nothing. They already have political control to a great extent., at least to the poit where Iraq is no longer an issue for them, only our presence remains to be resolved. They know the more they agitate the longer we will stay.

  • Posted By: sheebe @ 10/19/2008 1:55:14 AM

Maybe they are waiting till they know that they can really do some damage. In our backyards.

"According to this theory, Iran's theocrats fear an Obama presidency would greatly improve American esteem among European governments; the Iranians believe these leaders indulge Tehran now chiefly because of their disdain for President Bush."

Yay! Another liberal sneaking an Obama plug into a "news" story.

You already stole the election, folks. No need to keep twisting the news.

My goodness! The GOP pot calling the kettle black. When the puppeteers are finished with McCain, maybe the republicans will be able to win the respect of middle America again. But the smears and low blows are disgusting and any chance that this Ohioan would vote for McCain are long gone. I am sick of the insinuations regarding Obama. Please just stop.

Dear donbl: Do you not realize how stupid you sound? If you don't, then let me be the first to tell you that you are a complete idiot if you think that George W. Bush has the genuine respect of any world leader. You are an idiot if you think that it doesn't matter.

I think you draw the wrong conclusion from Barack Hussein Obama......

The Iranians think he is one of them. Is he?

Why instigate violence when the new American President is going to give them everything they could hope for?
