I've never seen so much FEAR from the McCain supporters - those who fear that if Obama wins, there will be a "payback time" of sorts from the long-suffering Black community; those who fear that Obama will bring a new kind of communism or fuzzy socialism (as if Bush's Administration hasn't already heaped a pile of it on us all); those who fear that Obama is an "Arab" or otherwise linked to terrorism (as if the two terms are one and the same)... so much FEAR, so much GUILT, so much to WORRY ABOUT, and such a piss-poor GOP performance these past eight/ten years .... and NOW, a piss-poor GOP ticket to have to champion.

My heart goes out to my chicken-sh!t brethren on the Right. Wish you could have the courage to join in the celebrations that are going to take place across the world when America elects Barack Obama and Joe Biden to the White House next week. Wish you'd banish your fears and join in the dancing, the toasting, the champagne and the singing and rejoicing... at long last we'll have an INTELLIGENT LEADER BACK AT THE TOP... and one who is about as rare as they come - a brilliant political genius who melds strong oratory, clear vision and a deep intellect all into a single persona. We will be "blessed" if Obama can win.

If not, we'll be the world's "last hope" gone sour and off-kilter, just further evidence of a massive global depression headed our way.... and very little HOPE or PROGRESS in sight. Unless of course you like Phil Gramm and more of the same as what we've had...dummies in the White House.

The only people writing about race wars are YOU! Liberal communists and assorted lackeys and toadies in the dem party have been peddling the fish of racism. Face it, Barry is a garden variety marxist endorsed by the CPUSA and the DSA and assorted lefties. I made it through 4 years of Carter, we can make it through 4 years of Barry. What will YOU do when Barry loses, eh? I have some $$ I can weather the storm. If I made it through 21% interest rates, 12% inflation and 10% unemployment and gas lines. I can take 2 years of Barry. Wait til 2012.

If America is a conservative country then conservatives has to admit it is a fatally flawed political position.
One that flys in the face of democracy despite efforts to make it fit the Idea that is America.
The fact Conservatism is in direct conflict with the Constitution of the United States of America is self evident, and explains GW Bush's distain for that document.
It is an elitist concept of aristocracy that shows all too well in the economic policies followed by the Republicans that even they must now admit was horribly short sighted.
Even though we have laws to protect the citizens of this country from their "control they still tend to ignore the will of the people in things like a womans right to choose, civil liberties, and efforts to avoid people starving in this country such as food stamps or welfare, granted we do see abuse of these entitlements but at the same time they do serve a purpose for the most economically disadvantaged, Those who are below the poverty level have grown to 28% of the population under 'Conservative Policy. Yet they call themselves "Compassionate.

Conservatives believe in Divine law or natural law over secular law, they clearly have extended that to Divine law over natural law as well, when we see them trying to convince us thousands of scientists are perpetrating a hoax on the world regarding Global warming an the threat it poses on literally every living thing on the planet. To ignore that threat is not Conservative it is nuts.

Just how lying this country into a war that now costs $380,000 per minute is "conservative" has to be explained it certainly doesn't seem "conservative to me. Unless it is an extension of hierarchy over equality which is a conservative view, and again one that fly's in the face of what America is all about. And brings into question just why would those not part of the hierarchy support the hierarchy? Many it would seem because it allows them to retain bigotry as part of their persona, they take pride in being called red necks.

Here is the Encarta definition of Conservatism, it is fair to say they also fell short in the balance and order department as well.

Conservatism, a state of mind and political philosophy that is generally averse to rapid change and innovation and strives for balance and order, while avoiding extremes. Originally conservatism arose as a reaction against the Age of Enlightenment. Conservatives advocated belief in faith over reason, tradition over free inquiry, hierarchy over equality, collective values over individualism, and divine or natural law over secular law.

        Fact: Obama is a Christian

Even more interesting is the tone with which neocons say "muslim". As if being a Muslim is a slur!

Lie: The extent of the Ayers connection claimed by the right

Fact: Ayers and Obama have as much to do with each other as two parents on a PTA council. Their association is by virtue of committee and not out of friendship

Quranic law states that the lineage goes through the father, that is, if the father is a muslim, the son is.
Ayers sponsored Barry's first race from Ayers' living room, plus they gave out 100 million dollars with the Annenberg Challenge.
Barry is no more a Christian than you are a cashmere sweater.

A former Newsweek reporter admitted in an article this week that he has no objectivity and imagined disabling Rudy Giuliani so he wouldn't run in the presidential primary race last year.
Michael Hastings wrote in GQ magazine that he had a "recurring fantasy" that he could somehow stop the former New York City mayor in his tracks.
"I quickly realized Rudy was a maniac. I had a recurring fantasy in which I took him out during a press conference (it was nonlethal, just something that put him out of commission for a year or so), saving America from the horror of a President Giuliani. If that sounds like I had some trouble being 'objective,' I did. Objectivity is a fallacy," he said.

For those of you still unsure of Obama's credentials and credibility, who are receiving emails from your friends who support McCain that Obama's tied to the Mafia, etc...let me assure you that McCain's ties to the Mafia and illicit associates like G. Gordon Liddy go back a helluva lot futher - so perhaps no politician is completely lily-white and immune from potential corruption.

McCain's wife inherited her significant fortune from her daddy - a twice-convicted felon for his associations and ties to the MAFIA in Bugsy Segal and others - who actually set him up with his successful beer distributorship. In essence, in marrying Cindy, McCain has used Mafia-tainted personal wealth to help subsidize his entire political career and even his launch into the Senate.

Additionally, McCain is a heavy gambler who loves to play the tables at the casinos. He's not hiding this - it's a well known fact. He has close relations with lobbyists for the gaming/gambling industry and if you think there is no Mafia involved in the casinos in Las Vegas and elsehwere, then you're sadly quite naive. I'm not saying he has direct ties, but there could easily be associations with connections to the Mob with a guy in the Senate.... duh...

So, we all know about G. Gordon Liddy and his close friendship w/ McCain, not to mention the infamous friendship w/ Keating of Savings & Loan fame.

Also, nobody is really making the connection between the Bushes and economic crises - Bush Sr.'s administration brought on the S&L scandal, and now we have W's brining us the global depression. Who in their right mind would vote for Bush "90% of the time" and actually BRAG about it????

So don't vote for an aging, senile and suspicious character for your leader - or rather, at least admit that politicians in general are prone to associating with various types throughout their careers, and that the lesser of the two evils is the one who is substantially younger, substantively more intelligent/sharp, and whose body language is "impeccable" according to The Economist (a magazine that even Sarah Palin says she reads).

BALTIMORE: JULY 4 [2003?]: After four hours of deliberation, a federal jury in Baltimore ruled in favor of G. Gordon Liddy in a $5 million defamation of character suit brought by former Democratic National Committee secretary, Ida "Maxie" Wells. Wells claimed that Liddy hurt her reputation when he linked the infamous Watergate burglary to a call-girl ring [allegedly being run out of the DNC headquarters for large contributors]. The jury was not asked to decide whether it believed the alternate Watergate theory, which portrays the burglars as looking for photos of prostitutes and not just political dirt. But in their verdict, the jurors found that Liddy did not defame Wells by repeating it.

Hmm, I can see President Obama ruling from center to right.
The Europeans once again love USA.
The economy will turn around because there is no longer any Republican majority.
Iran and N. Korea no longer vilified will now become reasonable and bow to the USA-European-Asian consensus that was not there before Obama.
Palestinians and Israelis will be embracing each other just to prove the world wrong since Obama is now president. The religious right will see that this is the beginning of the 1000 years they were promised.
The Buddhist will know that Nirvana is at hand.
The Islamist will realize that USA is not such a great Satan after all since Obama is president and decide not to hasten the return of Iman Mehdi.
China will adopt a similar policy as in Hong Kong with regards to Taiwan and Tibet.
Myanmar government will collapse under continuing sanction.
    HiV cure will be discovered.
Africa will again resemble the cradle of civilization.
There will no longer be hunger or diseases. Since there will no longer be any war.
Look out world BHO is the answer. On 4 November 2008 let's vote for BHO

Our country is not center right. It's you, the media, that have tried to manipulate the public into thinking that we are. If you study poll answers, you would realize that we Americans are more center left.

We're sick of all of your propaganda -- the pundits on cable TV, the PR hacks from the Bush administration, all of it. We want solutions to our problems, and we wouldn't mind a little weath sharing, considering the only people who have made out economically during the past 10 years are the wealthy 1%.

  • Posted By: paproudmom @ 10/24/2008 11:36:39 AM

I wonder what would happen if the top wage earners/tax payers suddenly stopped working and said it is your turn now take care of me. Just curious. You all sure love to bash people that have had financial success but don't mind using their money.

    • Posted By: Cloudosmoke @ 10/24/2008 12:39:09 PM

I've been giving up taxes and taking care of the less fortunate since I've been in the workforce. I guess it is just different when Republicans no longer have control. I will continue to help the less fortunate with my contributions, the only difference this time, those that make a lot more than I do will have to start pitching in. =)

      • Posted By: paproudmom @ 10/24/2008 1:48:23 PM

So have we. The ones making more than you probably have been contributing not only in more taxes but privately as well. With increased taxes, which will be wasted, there will be less to go around. We don't resent those who have been helping.

        • Posted By: Cloudosmoke @ 10/24/2008 3:06:36 PM

Privately? If that's the case, there should be no qualms about contributing publicly. If I made over 250,000, there is a great chance that any bonuses would offset any higher taxes that are deducted. I don't get the complaints coming from the wealthy. The wealthy get rich off the sweat of the less fortunate. People that work for people that make an income over 250,000 likely get paid only minimum wage and the business owner gives them a raise every two or three years that are worth anything and yet add to their homes. That's the whole thing about this economy, the rich that benefitted from underpaying employees find themselves pressed by the numbers and want what they feel they deserve. Sounds like they are getting what they deserve.

This is from an article on MSNBC, "McCain's advisers acknowledge that his way back is difficult, but they maintain that there is a way. It requires a combination of smart campaigning, traction for his arguments."

OK. Since when has his campaign appeared smart and what arguments are you referring to other than attack dog Plain Palin making no sense on everything that comes from her forked tongue? Are you referring to his incoherence? His incompetence for choosing Plain Palin in the first place? His knack for lying to the American public and the blind that follow him and actually swallow the hate that rolls from his tongue? His under dog, right where he has us schtick? He's a maverick? What argument? What policy?

If McCain finds a way to fight back it will be from the Republican Strong Arm tactics of abusing the power they have relished in for so long. Divide and Conquer. There is no United We Stand with these people. Their ideology is, "If we fall, you fall too."

And Brad Blakeman, the Republican Strategist, is an example of the desperation the Republicans are facing. Instead of answering the question about Palin's wardrobe, he reflects the question to question Senator Obama's love for his grandmother. This is a hideous representation of anything America stands for. Blakeman's a bigger loser than Bachmann. They are all nuts.

Obama could take a page out of the GOP play book and create his own Opportunity Society.
The GOP opportunity society was suppose to include everyone, but ended up just benefiting the upper 2%. If Obama could come up with an upward mobility program for the bottom 98% he could take away a third of the usual GOP vote for good.

Three surveys -- from the Associated Press-GfK, George Washington University and an Investors Business Daily/TIPP poll - - show McCain closing the gap with Obama.

The AP poll puts Obama at 44 percent to McCain's 43 percent, compared with a 7 percentage point advantage for Obama in their September survey. The GW Battleground poll showed Obama's edge at 2 points, down from 7 points in the middle of October, while the IDB/TIPP tracking survey has the margin for the Democrat narrowing to 1 point from 5 points at the start of the week.

AP poll: Candidates running nearly even 10/22/08

Neck-and-neck results are a departure from many recent national polls
WASHINGTON - The presidential race tightened after the final debate, with John McCain gaining among whites and people earning less than $50,000, according to an Associated Press-GfK poll that shows McCain and Barack Obama essentially running even among likely voters in the election homestretch.

The poll, which found Obama at 44 percent and McCain at 43 percent, supports what some Republicans and Democrats privately have said in recent days: that the race narrowed after the third debate as Republican-leaning voters drifted home to their party.

    • Posted By: stillwerise @ 10/23/2008 6:24:18 PM

Please note that the AP poll was discredited as being flawed. An analysis showd that while only 23% of the us population, Evangelical voters (who tend to vote Republican) were 43% of people polled, skewing the results. Consider what that same poll would have shown had 43% African Americans (who only represent 12% of the u.s. population) had been polled. CNN's just released poll of polls, (which includes FOX in the poll average), gives Obama a steady 8 point lead.

Who "Joe the plumber" may be is not the issue, though it's easy to see why the Dems want it to be. That's because the real issue is what Obama's comments to him revealed about Obama. In the exchange with "Joe the plumber" we find out that Obama really is as radical as his early political acquaintances, Davis, Ayers, Wright, etc., and that he is into the failed economic policy of wealth redistribution. Obama's tax and spending plans alone would be bad enough, but add Reid and Pelosi to the mix, with the three of them controlling both houses of Congress and the executive branch without any effective restraint, and you have something that should causes concern even among moderate Democrats.

And whether McCain won or lost the third debate is also not relevant. He succeeded in the first half hour to plant the seeds of a Reagan style wipeout. Reputable historians and economists overwhelmingly agree that the taxation imposed by Hoover and FDR, and the "stimulus" spending and public works programs of FDR, actually deepened and prolonged the Great Depression. It was the production demands of WWII that got the economy going again. And when the war was over, the economy promptly went into recession.

Point is, Obama's programs require him to tax, and his health care plan is a hidden tax on all business, large an small. In reality, it does not really matter who he taxes, those taxes are going to be passed through the economy. He has to tax, because it is they only way he can pay for his massive social engineering experiments. Any first year economics student knows that taxation is a tool used to contract an economy experiencing inflation, because it reduces demand by reducing the amount of money individuals and businesses have to spend. It is contractionary, which is exactly what you do not want to do when the problem is that the economy is contracting already into recession. Like Hoover and FDR, Obama's plans will only make it worse for longer.

Here is the truth, regardless who gets in, at some point taxes have to be raised. You can go into denial. I don't know if you were around with the first Bush, read my lips, no new taxes bs, How else besides tax revenue is going to bring down the deficit? Both parties are full of bs with that issue. In a perfect world, taxes would not go up. However, come back to earth and realize it will happen in time. Or your going to have to cutback every social service that is federally sponsored. So which do you want? The rest is all BU!!SH!T You keep posting the same things over and over again. It is not going to make a difference how many times you post the same thing, the reality is taxes will be taken out.

Taxes do not have to be raised as cutting rates always increase revenues.
It's the drunken spenders that keep spending your money and keep wasting it.
Reagan cut rates and doubled revenues from 500 Billion to 1 Trillion and when GW cut them he also doubled revenues.
BTW are you saying that every dollar spent by Washington is spent wisely??
Let's take John McCain at his word and cut spending across the board by 5% and se what happens.
Also in yur world, does gub'mint ever get smaller or does it keep getting larger?

"Cutting rates always increases revenues" you say.

Has your head been in the sand for the past 8 years?

Did you not notice that as Bush cut the rates that the National Debt TRIPLED?

Last time I looked revenues were going up after 9/11, remember that, and tell me the relationship between the deficit, revenues and the Debt.
PS there are two parts to the debt. One is Gub'mint debt and one is our debt.
What do we need to do to combat each one?

ok.. lets say revenues went up after 911... so how come it did not translate into jobs? it fook 4 years for bush ll to 'create' a single job in his economy. THEN once his the greed REALLY took off, jobs were literally runing overseas... so.... where is the trickle?

        • Posted By: stillwerise @ 10/23/2008 7:23:48 PM

historical note... yes, reagan cut taxes... revenues did go up... AND REAGAN LEFT THE TAX PAYERS WITH THE LARGEST DEFICIT IN THE COUNTRY'S HISTORY......... UNTIL....... (say it with me)....... GEORGE W. BUSH. Trickle down economics DOES NOT WORK. (companies ALWAYS stick a cup inder the trickle.... every single time.

In a perfect world, revenues will increase. However we are going into a deep recession. And you can throw around how taxes will be cut. If people are not working you won't be able to raise or decrease taxes regardless of what side of the aisle you are on. This is a worldwide issue.

If you raise the corporate tax by two or three times as Barry wants to do, what will be the effect? What will be the effect if Barry doubles the Capital Gains Tax as he said that he will do? Poor people do not hire anybody, they get hired by those with money.
I'll leave you with one last lesson; remember the Yacht Tax in the early 90's?
Was that to raise revenue or punish the "rich"? The result was the yacht industry was nearly ruined because those who bought yacht stopped buying them and companies that made them were going under. Anyone to do with yachts; marinas, carpenters, mechanics were severley harmed until this onerous law was repealed.
We are on our way to making this exact same mistake.
