Look and listen for yourself. Hear Obama in his own words discusses his links to both ACORN and the mortgage meltdown, and praises bundling and securitizing mortgages by banks as a means to float loans to the poor. Never mind the link commentators point of view, just listen to what Obama says in his own words. A picture is worth a thousand words. Maybe more in the case of the last half of the second link.

This is a link to C-SPAN video clips of the Congressional hearings at roughly the time McCains attempt at S.190. to fix Fannie and Freddie. See for yourself who said what.

The link below contains a purported list of the top 25 in Congress who got contributions from the folks at Fannie and Freddie. Obama is listed third, after Dodd and Kerry, even though Obama is just a junior Senator. Obama is followed next by Clinton. Barney Frank and Nancy Pelosi are on the list as well.

And the link below describes how some Democrats in Congress tried to use the original version of the bailout bill to divert money eventually recovered to groups like ACORN, a group Obama has a long association with. See:

Acorn, who is generally funded by our tax dollars and is supposed to be unbiased, openly endorses Obama. It is a fact that Obama gave a front company for Acorn (The same directors sit on both boards) eight hundred thousand dollars, knowing that Acorn has tried to stuff the ballot box all over the United States since 1998 with, of course, democrat votes. I don't believe that has been one instance where Acorn was caught stuffing the ballot box with Republican votes!

All of this means nothing to democrats and the liberal media, who in fact see any questioning of this highly illegal activity as nothing but a smear tactic.

Of course, if Acorn were stuffing the ballot box with Republican votes, you'd never hear the end of it.

KOBLINSKI, ARE YOU MAD? DO YOU GET UP IN THE MORNINGS AND GO TO WORK? IF YOU DO THIS MAN THAT YOU ARE SO BEHIND IS GOING TO TAKE YOUR MONEY AND GIVE IT TO SOMEONE WHO DOES NOT GET OUT OF BED AND GO TO WORK NOR DOES THAT PERSON PAY TAXES NOR DOES THAT PERSON PAY FOR HEALTHCARE. THEY ARE THE LAZY AND UNAPRECIATIVE PEOPLE WHO BRING THIS COUNTRY DOWN. MR OBOMA AND MRS NANCY PELOSI WANT A SOCIALIST STATE WHERE IF YOU WORK HARD FOR WHAT YOU WANT SO THEY CAN GIVE IT AWAY TO THESE BUMS. YOU SAY YOU ARE ALL ABOUT FREEDOM. IF YOU WANT TO CONTINUE TO HAVE THAT FREEDOM I SUGGEST YOU CHANGE YOUR MINDSET. CHRISTIANITY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS ONE.

To bojack27 and all others like him/her:
Christian for Obama here as well. It is not my place as a christian to create and skew someone else's beliefs based on my own. Besides, the government isn't about pushing a religious agenda. Because I personally don't believe in homosexuality or abortion doesn't give me, or the government, the right to persecute on that basis. America is about freedom, liberty, self determination. If someone else wants to live in a manner you or I see as sinful, that's their choice as an American. As Americans, it is obligation to respect that choice, and not to coerce them. Trying to force them to live a straight and narrow life won't work. It causes bitterness and conflict. That is NOT Christian. As for myself, I proudly stand for the things of God and tolerance and love are two of them. You are also vastly miscontrueing Obama's agenda. He isn't focused on social issues. He is focused on helping Americans become well off so they have the freedom to live how they dream of living. McCain has been so negative, abrasive, deceptive, and downright dishonest, I can't see how you, as a Christian, could stand for that sort of thing from your candidate of choice. We all have sins and flaws, don't go exposing others as it just makes you look dirty as well.

As a person of faith, I am sickened by the fact that the McCain campaign is friviously attacking an organization that exists to help the poor and give them a voice.

    • Posted By: bojack27 @ 10/20/2008 10:17:19 AM

Are they helping the poor or exploiting the poor? ACORN receives tax money to to operate and should in no wise endorse any candidate and yet tey endorsed Barack Obama. They are suppose to be non-partisan and yet they have a democratic platform....

As for you being Christian and for Obama... I cannot believe that you can endorse a candidates who supports the killing of the unborn, homosexuality, infanticide, denies that Jesus is that only way to God, doesn't believe in hell, sees homosexuality is no more than a sin than heterosexauality, and whose sole agenda is to overturn every abortion restriction once he gets into office.... I think you should check your Christianity and see if you stand for the things of God or are you just a pseudo Christian.....

I am glad someone is pointing out how banks get bullied. That is why their CEOs deserve multi-million dollar bonuses. The stress of being bullied by Acorn!!

Another case of very partisan "journalism." If anyone wants the truth, simply google ACORN. Some of this is true, and some half-truth. Part of it has been glossed over. If you want the complete truth, please do your own research. Now......let's question the many times Obama has massaged the truth!!! (I just read the ignorant email about Republicans voting on the 4th, and Dems on the 5th. That's a very old email, meant as a joke, that's circulated for years!!! Sometimes the dates are reversed. Dems have NO sense of humor, do they)?

  • Posted By: jimmurray1946 @ 10/20/2008 1:28:09 AM

i suggest you read the www.snopes.com article about the e-mails sent out that proclaim that due to the number of registered voters expected to cast ballots, the republican voters are to go to the poles on Nov 4th and Democrats are to go to the poles on Nov 5th. NOW TELL ME IF THAT IS NOT VOTER FRAUD???

Obamas own website changed a statement that said Obama never worked at ACORN to Obama was never hired at ACORN. A twist of words as he did work for ACORN as accused, but I guess he was never hired by ACORN. Obama is a typical polititian skirting the facts and twisting the truth about his associations. His political career was kicked off with a fund raiser in a known terrorists living room and Obama will have you believe he hardley knew the man. That is definately bull and Obama is being aided by the left wing media by never having to give us a factual answer.

Even if ACORN had employees, making $8 an hour, which I'm sure that some unemployed people got jobs generated because of them, but even if they signed 1.3 million, lets write off .3. That is a lot of votes which I'm sure would be, more than likely, for Obama. That is enough to rattle some Republicans. But, come on now folks, just the possibility of Sarah Palin coming anywhere near the office of the President, is a scary thing. McCain lost a lot of votes because of her, a really bad choice he made, in deed. She will be his downfall......

Obama has got to stop giving McCain an ounce of reason to attack him at this stage. It's a tight race as it is. While I don't think Obama has done anything wrong regarding ACORN, I DO think he should have been completely truthful in his explanation about this issue during the last debate. Makes it sounds like he has something to hide. I'm kind of dissapointed. But I'm still voting for him because he's the best one for the job, for soo many reasons I c an't count. Just stop feeding the pibull Obama!!!

Obama was an ACORN organizer and an ACORN teacher (that was his so called community organizer efforts). Obama is a lawyer and a polititian, I do not believe a word Obama is saying. Obama has noe record of ever doing any of waht he is saying, he gave money from his campaign funds to ACORN (I am sure to register voters for him) and is pulling the wool over many Americans eyes. McCain does have a record of doing most of what he says.

    priserv,
Did Bill Clinton or Bush use their full names during campaigning? What do you exactly think was going on with the wall street executives? Does it sound reasonable to say that they are looting and sharing the wealth among them? socialism for the top and capitalism for the average American. That's the philosophy of McKlan, the chief of KKK.

  • Posted By: BigR @ 10/20/2008 12:31:45 AM

ACORN is a fraud that is being funded by our tax dollars and is supposed to be bipartisan and register voters for all parties with no bias. It has beeb taken over by the dems and the Obama campaign to register voters for Obama, dead, felons and cartoon charactures. They (and the dems) also had a hand in the 2000 election with much voter fraud in that election. There were many dead people that voted democrat in Florida in 2000. ACORN should be disbanded and all Federal Funds Stopped Now !

  • Posted By: sentinel298 @ 10/20/2008 12:22:34 AM

ACORN has proven itself to be a dishonest and outright criminal organization. Is it a joke, as the article suggests, that one Ohio resident voted 72 TIMES? Obama gave over $800,000.00 to ACORN, which is indisputable. Why? He knows, without a doubt, what is going on with this organization. I find it ironic that Democrats still whine about Bush winning Florida in 2000 (which an investigation by several LIBERAL newspapers confirmed during their investigation), but turn a blind eye to ACORN's blatant and criminal voter fraud. This is "Change we can believe in?" Please!!

Here are few thoughts about Barack HUSSEIN Obama if he becomes President:
1.Will he raise the issue of reparation to the Black community to atone for slavery?
    2. He stated that it is better to spread the wealth around. Since most wealth is in the hands of the White population and less in the hands of the Black community that translates to taking from the Whites population and giving to the Black community..
    3. Why does he not use his middle name HUSSEIN? Does he have something to hide? Most people are proud of their names.
    Just a few thoughts...

The only thing that would stop me from voting for Obama at this point would be his getting incarcerated. The Republicans need to focus on how they intend to deal with the issues that are important to people right now--the economy, including the cost of food, housing--jobs and the war in Iraq, and stop smearing Obama. By focusing on Obama, all the Republicans are doing is giving him free air time.
