When will Obama's lies end ?

    • Posted By: simonanunhappydem @ 10/21/2008 12:22:30 AM

Exactly the same time when Palin's and McCains lies will end.

Has anyone done a side-by side compaign comparison regarding the economic problems: Medicare/Medicaid, SS, Universal Health Care, Tax and spend? I just don't get the fact that those that have worked so hard to make a good living have to pay for those that sit on their *** and do nothing, except expect a handout. I would be more willing to share if it were to be "paid forward". Get a little grease in the elbow and work.

Politicians make promises they do not keep all the time, so it is pretty strange that merely because McCain says he does not "envision" it happening the way Obama says it will, that we can judge Obama's statement as "false." Let's wait until McCain is president and then see whether or not the cuts are made, and until then, let's take everything said by politicians with a grain of salt. I think the comment by karo1958 says it pretty well--we have seen what has happened on the republican watch. In this case, I think Obama's wild guesses are more reliable than McCain's promises.

OK, Brooks Jackson, go back and listen to the debates - probably the second one. My doctor said McCain did say that we wouldn't be able to continue Medicare at current levels. You know darn well that means cuts - treatments and procedures that aren't covered and higher deductibles that people on Social Security can't afford. I don't think Obama is lying at all. I've seen first-hand what happens to Medicare under Republicans. I worked over ten hours a day for 22 years before becoming disabled, and I know that I'm not going to be able to afford John McCain! I used to kind of like him, but this country needs REAL help for REAL people - not the very wealthy - and Palin's worldview is just too small for her to competently take over if McCain drops dead. Admit it, Brooks Jackson, you didn't do enough research on this one! Maybe the numbers Obama's ad quotes aren't quite right, but McCain WILL cut Medicare. Tell you what, if McCain is elected, how about if you pay my increased out-of-pocket medical expenses due to those Medicare cuts you don't think McCain will make!!!

Brooks Jackson, your a hack. I don't know where you pull your facts from but I have a good idea.
Lohn McCain will make drastic cuts to medicare to fuel his healyh plan. He will also put social security on the shelf. I don't know where you get your info from, our why Newsweek would even pay you a salary.
Please shut up until you know what you're talking about.

Look and listen for yourself. Hear Obama in his own words discusses his links to both ACORN and the mortgage meltdown, and praises bundling and securitizing mortgages by banks as a means to float loans to the poor. Never mind the link commentators point of view, just listen to what Obama says in his own words. A picture is worth a thousand words. Maybe more in the case of the last half of the second link.

This is a link to C-SPAN video clips of the Congressional hearings at roughly the time McCains attempt at S.190. to fix Fannie and Freddie. See for yourself who said what.

The link below contains a purported list of the top 25 in Congress who got contributions from the folks at Fannie and Freddie. Obama is listed third, after Dodd and Kerry, even though Obama is just a junior Senator. Obama is followed next by Clinton. Barney Frank and Nancy Pelosi are on the list as well.

And the link below describes how some Democrats in Congress tried to use the original version of the bailout bill to divert money eventually recovered to groups like ACORN, a group Obama has a long association with. See:

McCain said he will cut Medicare

  • Posted By: obgyn @ 10/20/2008 6:04:30 PM

McCain is lying to the American people.
He will raise taxes on the middle class while the very rich
oil companies and businesses will pay less.

McCain did say he would cut medicare.

McCain said he would cut Medicare.

Many of us heard the same thing, in the second debate McCain said he would cut Medicare.
In the first debate he even said, defense.

I'm disabled, living on Social Security and I only have Medicare to help pay for my healthcare - have been for seven years. Each year under Bush, my Medicare coverage has gone down, and the monthly premiums have gone up by about as much as or more than the amount my Social Security Cost of Living increase! In addition, every year the deductible goes up, and fewer procedures are covered. That's exactly what "employing a new generation of treatment models" means when they're talking about Medicare "savings". it means that many procedures will no longer be covered because it doesn't fall under the "new treatment model". I have had kidney cancer twice, and as a result of surgery and radiation, my spine is deformed. I have severe muscle spasming which not only makes me unable to walk, but it's excruciatingly painful. From what I've heard from my doctors, the only treatments that have given me relief will probably no longer be covered under Medicare next year - which means that I'll be confined to a wheelchair and maybe need to go into a nursing home. I don't think this stupid reporter did their research, because I've heard over and over again that McCain did say he'll cut Medicare coverage, and I damn well know from experience that Medicare coverage has been cut over and over again under President Bush - and John McCain approved of those cuts. Factcheck.org, you're seriously wrong on this one!

Re-watch the debate, McCain did say he would cut medicare.
Your article needs a fact check.

I tried to delete my last sentence as it was from a different post but it still showed up :/

I guess Brooks Jackson doesn't check his facts either. McCain did say he'll cut medicare.

  • Posted By: Tess126 @ 10/20/2008 5:31:54 PM

we all know how McCain likes to change the wording of things to suit whatever he's doing: "Let's not call it a bail-out, let's call it economic recovery." And after we all heard him in the second debate talking about changes having to be made in medicare benefits, now you want us to believe that it's Obama who's making this up? Why didn't McCain's spokesperson say straight up that McCain won't be cutting medicare instead of
using the deceitful wording about not "Envisioning" any cuts? Just because he doesn't 'envision' the cuts doesn't mean he's not going to go through with the cuts he's already admitted he'll have to make?

I watched McCain say he will cut Medicare in one of the debates.

I work in the medical industry and I heard him say that loud and clear.

Obama is quoting The Wall Street Journal as a reliable source.

If it is wrong, The Wall Street Journal wrong.

Unlike the McCain campaign which actually fabricates lies about Obamas character, Obama at least has a real source he is quoting.

    Big difference.
