    I love it how there are so many folks who KNOW what Osama Bin Laden is thinking.

    Let's leave that one to the experts. "Very important quote from this article............

    "While sophisticated analysts could explain that bin Laden released the tape just before the election because he hoped Bush would win (Bush was a better recruiting tool for Al Qaeda than a President Kerry would have been), none of that got through. "

    Those who looked at the last election w/ their mind's eye, and not partisan tribalism, found this obvious.

      OBL and Al Qaeda are both mentioned in your post.

    • Posted By: Pocolodi @ 10/21/2008 6:31:22 PM

      OBL is either dead or completely ineffective and is hiding in Pakistan. Spin it any way you want, but we've not had any attacks in over seven years. And please disregard the obligatory "Osama hasn't wanted to attack us in seven years" nonsense.

      • Posted By: forte88 @ 10/21/2008 6:39:13 PM

        He doesn't need to attack us, we are doing a great job of destroying ourselves. The war in Iraq alone is costing us 10 billion a month. How much longer do you think we can keep that up?

        What does this have to do w/ my post? Just curious.

    I've heard Mr. McCain say several times that he knows how to get Bin Laden and that he has a plan. If he does/did, why haven't we gotten him yet? I think that this is the most senseless and selfish statement that Mr. McCain has made. Thousands of lives have been lost, billions of dollars have been spent, and Bin Laden is still nowhere to be found by our troops. This sounds to me like a dottering old man whose time has long since passed. Please, Mr. McCain, don't be partisan in this matter. If you know how to get him like you say you do, or that you have a plan to get him; SHARE IT NOW!!!

  • Posted By: forte88 @ 10/21/2008 5:48:18 PM

    I would not be surprised at all if Osama Bin Laden makes another tape that warns not to elect McCain. It worked before for Bush. The Republicans are exactly what the jihadists want in the White House because they are not dumb. The war mongering republicans are driving this country to bankruptcy with a war we cannot afford to keep fighting, and Bin Laden knows this. McCain wants to continue down that path. Also, Bush, his war machine, and continued meddling in the mid-east has been the biggest personnel recruiter for Bin Laden. Why would Bin Laden want a Democratically run White House, when he has done so well under the Republicans. Remember, the attack on 9/11 on the World Trade Center was an attack on our economy (not our freedom as some would have you believe). Bin Laden knows that he can't beat us in a battle field with armies, but he can't make us collapse by running the economy into the ground by sucking us into quagmire such as Iraq. Make no mistake, this guy is not stupid.

      It amazes me how out of touch You really are! however I do agree that something is in the works inregards to Bin Laden!! don't be surprised if he is captured or killed within the next 10 days! wake up all you Barack Hussien Obama stupes, he has proven to be just what the witch doctor ordered. all the money thrown after his candicy, ACORN,AYERS and oh yes the conviently unavailable Rev. Wright!! watch how fast that facist preacher appears if Osama Obama gets in the white house wake up you are being led down the primrose path!!!

      • Posted By: uber voter @ 10/21/2008 6:08:52 PM

        Bill - it amazes me at your total lack of objectivity. The republicans have totally screwed up the country and now run around screaming something akin to the sky is falling with their rants about "Ayers/Acorn/Wright" and you are ignorant enough to buy it! I am sure you bought the weapons of mass destruction stuff as well. You deserve four more years of the same, but thankfully that won't happen.

        • Posted By: Pallisor @ 10/21/2008 11:53:46 PM

          Where do you get "the republicans" have screwed up this country? Do a search for your Democrat friends Barney Frank and Chris Dodd on how they blocked Bush and McCain legislation to reign in Fannie and Freddie. Stop blaming everything on the reps. The dems have theirs hands all over this mess...

        • Posted By: billtheoutsider @ 10/21/2008 6:56:49 PM

          objectivity!! wonderful ruse that you and Obama supporters are trying to run!! and just for the record! we as americans are expected to be and many are so naive and our memorys are sooo convienient! let me see if I remember what happened before we arrived in Iraq!
          we were required by the UN to wait six months before we went there and yes follish person that you are the Hussien followers had SIX count them SIX months to move the weapons of mass destruction into Iran and Syria and of course they weren't found! but guess who still has them and the way Barack Hussien Obama talks about the ToliBon with reverence instead of Taliban with desdain like a normal AMERICAN!! if he gets elected & I pray he won't! when he talks about meeting wth them in person, YOU BETTER BELIEVE FOR ONCE HE IS NOT LYING!!!!!

        • Posted By: sickofredbs @ 10/21/2008 6:21:51 PM

          Not to mention that McCain has also publicly worked with ACORN. Oh, did he fail to mention that through all of his vitriolic drivel? He is pretty old, maybe he just had a "senior" moment.

    • Posted By: forte88 @ 10/21/2008 5:50:25 PM

      just a quick typo fix, "he can make us collapse from the inside by making our economy collapse"

  • Posted By: Nowforthetruth @ 10/21/2008 11:22:04 PM

    What Bin Ladin, Putin, Ahmadinejad, and others know from history, and Biden admits will be quickly tested if Obama wins:

    Cuba, Vietnam. Laos, Cambodia, Iran, Nicaragua, Somalia, Iraq. Let our friends, allies and the innocents die, by the millions if necessary. Just so long as they are not Americans. We are the Democratic Party, and for 50 years, from the Bay of Pigs to the Basra Highway and beyond, we have never met a fight we could not pressure our government to run away from, or friends and allies we could not abandon. It's the story of our generation. Only the French are more defeatist than we, but together America, we can change that and become number one. And its change we can believe in. Come on America, and vote Democrat. Together, we can re-live that pride we haven't felt since the 1970's. If we just blindly pull together, we really can make this like it is Jimmy Carter's lost second term. Yes we can!

  • Posted By: westernlady @ 10/21/2008 11:17:27 PM

    Excellent question, Mr. Alter and I think Biden laid it out quite well--Obama would make the wrong decision and this is likely to happen as Osama Bin Laden would love to test him. Without McCain to copy, he will have a tough time knowing the right thing to do.

    One last thought-----Colin Powell -- "the same old failed policies" so Obama is looking more and more like Bush!

    I am voting for real change--McCain and Palin!

      OK. Here we go. Let's see why you used excerpts. Here is another excerpt. (the one you deceitfully omitted) from that same article.

      'The results of the Military Times 2008 Election Poll are not representative of the opinions of the military as a whole. The group surveyed is older, more senior in rank and less ethnically diverse than the overall armed services.'

      This excerpt stating that the results are NOT an indication of the military as a whole discredits tha idea that the troops are really backing McCain. In addition the fact given in your excerpt that the survey was VOLUNTARY means that this unscientific survey has no validity whatsoever. Sort of like those voluntary phone-in Fox surveys.

      You are worse that a simple liar when you take a small piece of truth and twist it into a false portrayal of fact. Shame on you.

      • Posted By: sharenews @ 10/21/2008 9:19:42 PM

        As your fellow Obama supporter (Nins) has said to McCain supporters who questioned her excerpts she has posted in the past: That is what the source links are for that we also post for readers to read the article in its entirety.

        .

        • Posted By: neos @ 10/21/2008 9:26:39 PM

          Weak deflection. At issue is YOUR willful misrepresentation. Giving a link does not release you from the responsibillity of accurately and TRUTHFULLY summarizing the contents of the article. Deceitful cherry-picking for political gain is shameful.

          On the upside, it does strip you of any further and future credibility.

          • Posted By: sharenews @ 10/21/2008 10:19:58 PM

            Neo, you have no idea of what you are talking about. In the first two articles above I just grabbed the first and/or second paragraph to lead a reader to further checking it out by providing the LINK to the actual full article. I did not summarize anything (that is why I said it was an excerpt). Same with the last article above. My main goal was to post the list of retired military generals,etc, with an intro to the listings. Again, it was not a summary I made. It was an exceprt and anyone with a half of brain when they see a LINK to the actual article they know if they want to read the entire article it is there for the reading. Nothing misleading. Just a disgruntled Obama supporter (you) p*ssed off that there is such military support as a whole for McCain and given you dont like what you read you go all out to discredit me. You are so transparent. . . you sound like a graduate of Saul Alinskys course. . . are you an ACORN activist? You sure seem to conduct yourself like one.

            • Posted By: neos @ 10/21/2008 10:31:12 PM

              And so cornered, you attack me. 'Are you an ACORN activist?' Hmm.. that sounds like something right out of the Alinsky course, doesn't it?

              Look, pal. You tried to make a cheap and false political point through deception. You got called out on it. You then went through some silly contortions trying to excuse your dishonorable behaviour, and you got your a** handed to you. Now you are embarrassing yourself. If you don't have the honesty to admit your error, then at least have the decency to take your lies elsewhere.

      Well, it not news to anybody EXCEPT Osama supporters.....IT is factual that 80% of the Military (God bless those patriots, lovers of freedom, and warriors) SUPPORT MCCAIN....It seems that the democratic party has fallen to a new LOWER LOW....denying facts and creating their OWN WORLD, following the leader of the pack...OSAMA. They are attempting to create Fact from Fiction, just like they are CREATING voters.....dead, seven year old, registering 73 times.....OUCH....does that spell DESPERATION and LACK OF MORALITY or what???? Saul Alinsky philosophy taught by Obama to students in the Chicago community for radical organizing initiatives used over the years to 1. obtain multiple voter registration signatures by individuals, 2. to intimidate local banks to approve risky mortgage loans for people who cant afford homes, and 3. To work with democratic lobbyists in Washington D.C to lower the standards of Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac which helped contribute to the financial meltdown we are experiencing now:

          * Personal ATTACKS

          * Playing the RACE card

          * Trying to play the GUILT trip

          * Trying to make people feel GUILTY ABOUT SLAVERY when they had nothing to do with it

          * * * * * * * * * * * * NAME-CALLING. When people that DO NOT AGREE with them , they call them e.g.

          STUPID, IDIOT, etc.. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

          * . . . and more.

          ALL of the above things come right out of Saul Alinskys PLAYBOOK that he wrote: Rules for Radicals.

          Non-Obama supporters . . Does all of the above sound very familiar in these blogs? Hmmmmmmm.

    I believe, as the author has said, that Osama bin Laden (ObL) uses the videos for his recruitment efforts. However, here's what the article and the posts are missing. ObL does NOT want Obama in the White House! Yes, ObL would rather have McCain. First off, Jihadists welcome death. In death, they believe they receive eternal salvation. For better or worse, McCain seems more committed to this effort than Obama. Obama represents a renewed America that would have the soft power to encourage more NATO resources in Afghanistan. Europeans have spit on Bush when he has attempted this before. Moreover, Europeans feel that McCain is another Bush. Though I support Obama, I disagree with that accusation. ObL is NOT a stupid man; he has media and political savvy. Even Richard Clarke, former NSA Chief, has claimed that ObL would rather have an Obama Administration.

    P.S. The racism below is disgusting.

    • Posted By: fselvagg @ 10/21/2008 10:42:15 PM

      Correction: I should have said ObL wants a McCain Administration.

      By the way, look at the poor punctuation and syntax of McCain supporters. No wonder why these idiots like Palin so much.

    • Posted By: neos @ 10/21/2008 9:38:47 PM

      The best thing that ever happened to Al Quaeda was George W. Bush and his misadventure in Iraq. It squandered what good will the world felt for us, ruined relations with our international allies and pushed us into the role of aggressor and occupier. Recruitment skyrocketed.

      • Posted By: Pocolodi @ 10/21/2008 9:59:31 PM

        As if recruitment was hurting before. Please, stop with the "aggressor and roll of occupier" nonsense.

        How about we do what you seem you'd like to do next time.... don't even bother with UN resolutions.... they're worthless (as in 17 of them) because you, as well as the UN won't and would not ever enforce them. And don't hand me that worthless crap about diplomacy. Everyone tried that for over twelve years. Diplomacy does not work with colossal third world fools like Saddam Hussein. So, just walk away, or better yet, just cut to the chase and raise the white flag!

The fact that Obama doesn't have that much experience, the continued (and untrue) rumors that he's a Muslim, and the similarity in name will be too much for some uneducated and uninformed voters that are on the fence. A Bin Laden tape takes the economy off the table because people would say "What's the point in having a good economy if get blown up terrorists."

    Personally, I think we are already under terrorist attack. I personally think Bin Ladin is using OPEC (and God knows what connections he has with them) to attack our economy. I know this is a far fetched idea, but think how Bin Ladin thinks. Whatever the case, and If he is still alive, he is sure sitting back enjoying all this. His mission was to destroy America's economy from the start.
