People are going to get in a tizzie because of this article. There are so many moderating factors to consider here. Who knows what these kids would have been like had they NOT undergone surgery. You need to weigh the risks and benefits. My child underwent ear tube surgery, he's much better off because of it. It was worth him not getting pumped full of antibiotics 2 times a month for a year -who knows how long that would have gone on.... I'm sure there are consequences to getting that much antibiotic treatment as well. I think people need to really take these things with a grain of salt....
