i know PVGUY was raised in an anti communist/socialist time, and is just in general a defensive angry aging man...you start assuming im spewing hate and you call it disgusting...well i call your utter disregard for other opinions disgusting and very anti progressive/anti american/and uncooperative. maybe you should be in office so you can scream and laugh at other foreign leaders and watch you get assasinated because you were unwilling to compromise on any front. when anyone has said something you dont agree with your instantly on attack mode, much like your candidate of choice...which is fine...but its very imature for a man of your years...

you shout names and act like a elementary school child...really? and you want me and others here to listen and take you seriously??? anger does nothing but create more anger...guess you havent learned that yet even with all those years under your belt.. now that my friend is sad...

have a good day old timer!!

    • Posted By: PVGUY @ 10/23/2008 4:41:18 PM

Kind of weird rambling you're doing there. It's really your side that wants to shout down anyone who doesn't see ttheir side. You don't think the dems have been on the attack. Do you honestly believe that the media has delved into Obama's background the way they have Palins? I personally have a hard time thinking anyone could take you seriously if they read your rambling that prompted this response. Take your medication and relax.

      • Posted By: nimodahooligan @ 10/23/2008 4:55:26 PM

and its REALLY both sides that are shouting, you are not innocent...far from it...and im guilty as well, as is everyone bickering here. so dont act like your right, your one man on a soap box...

      • Posted By: nimodahooligan @ 10/23/2008 4:53:52 PM

im not shouting son...im calm and collected. and when have i outright attacked you... "your laughable", "your hatred is disgusting", "you socialist commies", "ignorant", "your a joke" sounds alot like your rants...in fact, those are quotes from you...as i read i dont see myself slinging deragatory names and speaking down to you...you are in attack mode...

are you still seeing charlies in the trees too??

its the 21st century, and the democratic party and myself (independent voting for my personal best choice, that being a democrat) are not the vietcong out to ruin your small business you and your wife have built...

why would anyone want that? especially a politician on either side of the isle...why? because without small business, america would not exist, and no one would have money to tax...no one wants to destroy your life and ruin your business sir...its in every politicians interest to keep business going...

      • Posted By: mrzoid @ 10/23/2008 4:48:50 PM

Both sides are equally guilty. This is standard politics, neither side is good or evil, they're just politicians. Come on though, Obama has been campaigning for almost two years, Palin for two months; if you really believe that Obama has not been vetted, than you have no real perspective.

  • Posted By: PVGUY @ 10/23/2008 3:10:09 PM

Augustman1955. I'm not scared at all. I'm 65 years old. I survived Richard Nixon and Jimmy Carter. I'll survive Obama if he's elected. I guess turnabout is fairplay. Bush had to fumigate the Whitehouse after Clinton moved out.

    • Posted By: mrzoid @ 10/23/2008 3:14:53 PM

Im perplexed; what was so bad about Clinton? Or Nixon for that matter? Sure Nixon made some horrible campaign decisions, but policy wise, he wasn't a bad president.

      • Posted By: overdehill @ 10/23/2008 4:50:49 PM

I'm glad to see somebody else remembers Nixon fondly. He ended the military draft and drove the first nails in the coffin of our stupid policiy of refusing recognition to the largest and most populous nation on the globe, but I guess it's true what Shakespear said about the good men do being oft interred with their bones.
As for Clinton, I suppose we ought to give him credit, too, for establishing the legal precedent that a blowjob ain't sex and that it isn't perjury if you lie for a, "good cause'.

    • Posted By: augustman1955 @ 10/23/2008 3:35:47 PM

Well good for you. I survived those guys along with Eisenhower, Kennedy and Johnson too! I'm not quite as old as you, but as far as "survivng" Obama is concerned, come on. You've been on the planet long enough to know the difference between crap and sweet potates. This stuff coming out of the McCain campaign is nothing more than "crap." Traitor and, terrorist? Don't you agree that's over the top? Here's a man (McCain) who has "palled around" with G.Gordon Liddy! Was investigated for his involvment with Keating, Received a reprimand from Congress! (was one of the "Keating Five.)" He cheated on his first wife with his second wife, and then left her after she needed him most!! This is who you want to occupy the WHITE HOUSE? Meanwhile, there's not one shred of evidence that could be produced to back up the claims of McCain and his cronies against Obama. Beleive me, if these things could be proven they would be included in his vicious campaign propaganda. It's not too late to make the right choice.

Ms. Palin's extravagance on clothing fits in with her billing Alaska for her time spent at her personal residence and for her children's travel. She apparently feels entitled to having her way paid, in a big way. The same fits with McCain/Palin's policies to favor the rich--witness their desire to cut taxes more for those making over $250,000 than for those who make less. Small surprise, given that McCain and his wife are so rich he can't remember how many homes they own.

These are the candidates who purport to claim to be "the real" Americans; who currently are circulating a flyer with "Terrorists" on the front and a picture of Obama inside over the caption, "Not Who You Think He Is;" the same two candidates who both have been censured for ethical misconduct, McCain as one of the Keating Five and Palin for abusing her power in trying to get her former brother in law fired from his state trooper position. McCain himself is an admitted adulterer. These two do not share the socioeconomic status or the values of mainstream America.

I wonder why there is no one is asking how much the campaign is spending on Michelle's clothing and travel for herself and her kids? Oh yeah... because Obama lied and turned down public financing that would have made him turn in all expenses made in his campaign. Not to mention the contributributions to his campgain which includes 1.2 million from HEDGE FUNDS. Hmmmmmm......

To bad McCain followed the rules. And the clothes will be given to charity. Or auction to raise money for a charity. But... the media doesnt mention that.

NOW YOU KNOW THE REST OF THE STORY.

AP Poll shows Obama/McCain 48/48 tied.

    MEDIA LIES

    McCain/Palin 08

    • Posted By: nimodahooligan @ 10/23/2008 4:40:25 PM

and you know the clothes will be given to charity?? have you spoke with ms palin yourself?

    • Posted By: overdehill @ 10/23/2008 4:33:51 PM

Who you callin, "Pig," zenoreo? No wonder men like Colin Powell and Warren Buffett do not choose to run for high elective office when they know they'll be subjected to this kind of gratutious abuse from smart---- twits who never laid eyes on them except on a TV screen! No wonder congress has become a synonym for, "Chaos" and our country's actually run by faceless nonelected bureaucrats responible to no one but themselves! Difference of opinion is the lifeblood of democracy, but it you can't participate in civil discourse without calling names then keep your silly, immature mouth shut!

All a new wordrobe means is that the campaign people are doing their job. Even minor appearances in front of the camera usually involve a wordrobe person, and a VP candidate is constantly on camera. Part of a campaign staffs' job is to "sell" the person they are working for,
Also, I am sick of every politically-related comment area being filled with unrelated "I hate some particular politician because..." rants that comment very little on the subject of the article. Get over yourself!

    • Posted By: mrzoid @ 10/23/2008 4:31:27 PM

If you'd read the story, or followed the reporting, the issue isn't a wardrobe. The story is the funds used to purchase the clothing. The RNC funded the $150,000+ to purchase the clothing. Wether that violates campaign finance regulations is debatable, but no other candidate has used campaign funds to clothe themselves or their families. Also, $150,000 in clothing in two months is simply bad for the image of the campaign. If you want to boil it down to a fashion dispute, you're willfuly ignorant on the topic.

  • Posted By: overdehill @ 10/23/2008 4:15:51 PM

So how is Sarah Palin's wardrobe news? Has anyone reported on how much Waybrak or John-boy spends on clothes? Are you trying to say that only unattractive, dowdily dressed females are to be taken seriously? Ms. Palin is the governor of the largest and most mineral-rich state in the union, not some bimbo with a pleasant singing voice or who happens to look good on the big screen. Give her the respect she deserves!

Why are all the people who are committing on Gov. Palin's wardrobe so angry? Sound like a bunch of "Mean Girls" Could it be that most are probably so FAT that they could not get their right light into one of her skirts, or that they are jealous that their "cankles" will poke through and could not carry it off??

If you all ran everyday like her then maybe you too could wear fashions like that and look good in them too.

DONT HATE THE TAILOR HATE YOUR DIET!

    Grow Up!

Hillary Clinton's designer Susanna Chung Forest, admitted that she gave countless 'gifts' of $7,000 suits for her camlpaign. Is'nt that illigal?

  • Posted By: gary&hannahsmom @ 10/23/2008 2:18:58 PM

My tax money has already been spent on the clothes. Tell me, when a poor mother is going the the Salvation Army to get clothes, what use will she have for the expensive clothes that Palin is wearing if they do get donated?

No kidding, the media lies. People need to read and educate themselves about the facts. And you are right think4yourself McCain is following the rules, of sleezy poitics.

It wasn't tax money, it was RNC money. I can't imagine that Michelle Obama gets her clothing at WalMart --- they are all in the public eye, and like it or not the public expects the women to look nice and dress well. I remember how they went after Hilary Clinton everytime she changed her hair style. Until people can look beyond fashion and hair cuts, females in politics will have to dress well, and that can be expensive.

      • Posted By: nimodahooligan @ 10/23/2008 4:05:43 PM

ok understandable...but...it said a "shopping spree for her and her family" and where in the hell do you think "RNC" money comes from? or any government money comes from??? TAXES...YOUR PAYCHECK...HOW IS THIS WAR BEING FUNDED?? YOUR PAYCHECK...HOW ARE THE ROADS GETTING FIXED?? YOUR PAYCHECK...HOW DOES WELFARE EXIST? YOUR PAYCHECK...WHERE DOES MONEY FOR ANYTHING IN THIS COUNTRY COME FROM??? AMERICAN PAYCHECKS...she used 150000 of hard earned american payroll to take her family out on a ridiculous shopping spree... free pass granted by the same failed administration thats blowing away 10billion a month on an illegal occupation and war that over half the world opposed happening...

  • Posted By: PVGUY @ 10/23/2008 3:18:57 PM

The toughest part of cleaning up the place after Clinton left was getting the spots out of the oval office carpet.

    • Posted By: mrzoid @ 10/23/2008 3:22:48 PM

And you claim to be 65 years old? I hope for your sake thats not true.

      • Posted By: PVGUY @ 10/23/2008 3:37:44 PM

That's exactly true. And I've been around long enough to recognize a socialist when I hear him speak. I didn't vote for McCain in the primary and I definately don't think we have a great choice in either of these candidates. I guess I just don't think mine is as bad as yours. Kind of a shame that's what it's come down to.

        • Posted By: augustman1955 @ 10/23/2008 4:01:28 PM

Do you know what a "Socialist" is? Do you know what they stand for? Sure you've been around a long time, and I'm sure you've seen a lot. But really, you'd compare Mr. Obama with say, Stalin, or Kruchev? Do you base this statement on the fact that Mr. obama wants to "spread the wealth by giving a tax break to the 95% middle class?" If you do, and that's the ONLY thing you can, is this any different than McCain's tax break for the wealthiest 1% "spreading the wealth?" HMMMMMMMM. How much did you or the country as a whole benefit from that "crap?" Look where we are, and tell me with a straight face that the country would be better off with Macky than OhMomma?

  • Posted By: mrzoid @ 10/23/2008 3:56:20 PM

The simple fact is that McCain had a near impossible task during this election cycle. Running against an energized democratic party, against the record of an unpopular administration, and struggling to raise funds from a lathargic base. He has done the best he could, which in all honesty was not very good; and bottom line, McCain's campaign has been the poorest run since Walter Mondale's.

You think she's smart because she--almost--won a bEAuty pageAnt? Wow, you really set the bar high for Vice Presidential qualifications. Guns and stuff... yeah I'll be over here where the educated people are. In the Democratic party.

Something you won't hear on the campaign trail: Who's turn is it to go to the laundromat?

  • Posted By: ep12345 @ 10/23/2008 3:17:13 PM

How come you don't comment on Mr. Obama's wardrobe. He wears $500.00 suits and I see him with a different one everytime he appears on the screeen? Is it OK for one candidate to drees up and not for the other?
    BIASED media...here you come.

    • Posted By: mrzoid @ 10/23/2008 3:28:06 PM

Ok, $500 suits are pretty modest respectively. Those are Calvin Klein prices, not Brooks Brothes or Ermenegildo Zenga high end. Hell, i have a couple $500 suits, and i'm not a millionaire. Also, there have been no reports that Obama or McCain have used anything but their own money to clothe themselves. I get your general point, but it doesnt hold water in this story.

  • Posted By: ep12345 @ 10/23/2008 3:24:17 PM

By the way it is obvious that the purse Palin's daughter is holding is an adult size, probably his mom's.

  • Posted By: PVGUY @ 10/23/2008 1:46:29 PM

You libs. are a joke. If Sarah Palin is such a detriment to McCains campaign why don't you just sit back and enjoy her supposed destruction derby on his chances? The answer is that you are scared to death of Sarah Palin and all she stands for. A bright, accomplished, self made successfull conservative woman. She is an outside the beltway, not educated in the Ivy League bastions of liberal thought and is tough as nails. She has stood up to all the hatefull garbage and vile intrusiveness you and your allies in the msm have thrown at her and is still on her feet and is still swinging. If McCain loses this election your worst nightmare by the name of Sarah Palin will be back in 2012. By then Obama, Reid and Pelosi will have had 4 years to trash this country and it's economy and we just might see a President Sarah Palin.

    • Posted By: alienbuckeye @ 10/23/2008 3:11:17 PM

OMG!!! Two words that should strike fear in all our hearts: "President Palin"

    • Posted By: nimodahooligan @ 10/23/2008 2:21:43 PM

she will not be back and no one would ever vote for her to be president if the country is this disatisfied with her now...are really being serious? would you really vote to have a person that has barely left alaska ,much less the united states, and have her in the driver seat of the free world?? someone who until last month never met a foreign leader or ambassador, has never seen or probably paid attention to life outside the united states or other cultures, someone who thus far is not respected by some of the countries most intelligent woman and citizens, someone who has governed a state of roughly 600,000 (in a state twice the size of texas no less and thus VERY sparse and spread out, and the population doesnt even match the Twin cities population in MN, thats just minneapolis and St. Paul...), and with only a few years as governor under her belt at that...you want to talk about the worst possible choice in the history of VP picks there it is...

great, shes an average person...but you cant be average in the oval office...that duty calls for above and beyond the call of duty, making decisions that not only affect americans but that also affect other countries across the world (countries shes never heard of or even remotely understands). so she has no Ivy league education, so what shouldnt matter right??? ummmmm yea it does matter...ALOT...why are you comfortable with mediocrity in a leader but not your doctors? or sports athelets? or astronauts? or scientists? dont we want the most educated, well rounded, best pick for the job? or do you want her in office simply because you would feel comfortable having a six pack with her??? i dont think the president should ever consider having a six pack, seems they would have a whole *** ton of work to do from the looks of the economy, wars, social problems, international affairs, delegation, revising laws and such...the leaders of this country should have the best of education, the best of experience, with the most well rounded and thought out answers to these issue..."not blinking" in Palins terms, will quickly get bombs dropped on us in the right climate or will quickly led to revolt or revolution...being president is not ment for the average joe six pack...and i dont care if shes good at hunting or has a child with special needs...she doesnt even remotely understand how much care a child like that will need...and where will she be? working, traveling, barely being in existance to that childs first years of life...that doesnt sound like good mothering to me, but thats just my opinion...as is this entire comment...

she will be qualified to be president in probably another 15 years or so when she actually does something other than shoot wolves from planes and attempt to remove literature from libraries...

    • Posted By: augustman1955 @ 10/23/2008 2:16:29 PM

      One more thing PVGUY,
The last thing YOU want is Palin going toe-to-toe with Obama in a debate in four years or ever. She'd look worse than she did with Biden!LOL!!

  • Posted By: PVGUY @ 10/23/2008 3:00:54 PM

Please,Please,Please, for the sake of my grandkids and their kids don't elect a Socialist who will destroy what little we have left of our economy with his tax increases and social engineering.

Thank you Think4yourself. Someone must be the voice of reason. Seems like everyone in the Obama camp cannot say one nice thing about anything that McCain/Palin do and neither can the media for that matter. It must be nice to live in walking around in rose colored glasses. No matter what Obama does it is right and no matter what happens in the McCain/Palin camp it is wrong.

"Change" just for the sake of change is ludicrous.

I find it interesting that people just take Obama at his word on everything. Doesn't matter that he has been linked to Ayers, without a doubt grew up in the same neighborhood, worked out of the same office, and launched his political career from his living room. Obama is okay and should run this country.

    Just food for thought here.....

Obama has stated that he cannot be called into judgement for being friends with Ayers because what Ayers has done (planting bombs at the Pentagon, blowing up American soldiers, and killing cops) was done when he (Obama) was around 8 years old. Sorry to say but these things happened when Obama and Ayers were sharing an office. He lied.... and he lied on many more than one occassion. Yet this country, in all likelihood, will figuritively stretch its neck out on the stump for the axe blow that will be coming. Obama will be the death of this country.

Did you know that Hussein translates to "Son of Muhammed"

Did you know that in Islam teachings it is okay to lie low and even convert, until such a time as they can safely promote Islamic practice. Just FYI Obama did not convert until he decided to run for president.

That Obama has already committed Treason to our country by telling foreign governments not to work with Bush and to wait until he steps into office to agree on anything.

Obama, by changing the Presidential seal on his website, has already broken the law.

Wake up people!!!!!!! Some of you are following Obama like he is your savior, when in all likelihood he may mean the exact opposite.

I must say, I am flabergasted by your ignorance and your utter disregard for the truth; I only wish that just before you post your comments online you would @ the very least have the decency to respect your fellow online readers and do some research for God sake. I am neither a liberal nor a conservative, neither a democrat or a republican, I am first and foremost a human being who happen to have been born in this great country of ours, I can no longer stand idle when I read this type of verbiage being disseminated online. Obama is an American, a Christian, never been a Muslin, and represents a breath of fresh air in politics in this country.

for eight years, the republicans have destroyed the reputation of our country, have lied to congress, and have wipe their behind with our Constitution; a constitution upon which our great pillars have built this country upon. Please, Please, Please, for the sake of my kids, your kids, I urge you to please WAKE UP before it is too late.

If Barack Obama was in fact guilty of treason, or sharing offices with a bomber, HE'D BE LOCKED UP!!! He's balck!!! Black folks don't get the benefit of the doubt on ANYTHING!! Usually you libs. make me angry but nimodahooligan is really good for a laugh. How much experience does Obama have? How much governing has he actually done? Sarah Palin is drawing huge crowds on the campaign trail, sometimes outdrawing Obama. She is liked and respected by many millions of Republicans, Independents and even some Democrats. She is bright and fresh and rings a whole new perspective to the corrupted current political system. Also you need to get your facts from someplace other than the Huffington Post. She never attempted to ban books from the library. Prepare yourself, if McCain loses and I'm not conceeding that he will but if he does Sarah will be back.

    • Posted By: nimodahooligan @ 10/23/2008 2:46:57 PM

Why would other individuals opinions make you angry? Im honestly curious about this; and pose the question to others on the left as well. Do you not appreciate the logic of having differing views on politics? If the country was without the wide spectrum of political leanings, it'd be a horrible place. Perhaps you should look to the positive aspects of democratic views, because there are some, and viceversa for you democrats. Anger clouds your mind, and it doesn't serve a purpose.
