The unions donated 300 MILLION dollars to Obama? Damn, I didn't know they had that kind of cash, since you know, unions had basically been castrated after Reagan... And markets are reacting negatively to Obama? Really? Do you have any sources? How can you friggin' tell? Mark my words, if Obama wins, on Nov. 6 you will see the markets going up, because investors will be more confident, since they trust Obama more than McCain. Guess who the Financial Times a conservative publication -- endorsed? Guess who a VAST majority of economists support?

And by the way, the Economist is a conservative publication.

Every couple of weeks, you act as if you are a Canadian, but for the last year I have been calling you out as an Repig operative. You do not impress me, or most other people with your caps on. Since you "can't vote" supposedly, you don't have to get yourself in an uproar, and relax for a change. In eleven days, you and your fellow repigs will be paying a price of losing seats in the house, senate and the presidency.

Way to spam the page witha bunch of fear-mongering revisionist crap as usual 'Concrned Canadian'! I wonder just which part of Canada you are from to be so 'concerned' with a left-leaning President getting into the white house. Canada after all, is a pretty left-leaning country, what with it's 'SOCIALIST' universal health care and all...Are you afraid that Stephen Harper will lose his popularity now? or do you even know who that is? He just had his election two weeks ago, to try and beat out the leftward swing in the US, and it didn't help him much... can you even discuss Canadian politics at all? I'm guessing no, largely because I don't think you are Canadian at all, but then -Truth really isn't your forte, is it? :)

It would be nice if he held his birth certificate and o not his certificate of live birth which is different when he speaks . You know it should be an easy thing for a presidential candidate to do.

    • Posted By: redmalamute @ 10/24/2008 10:17:02 PM

Please look at the following cite, which confirms that Obama is a citizen. http://www.factcheck.org/askfactcheck/has_obamas_birth_certificate_been_disclosed.html

As a lawyer, I could file a lawsuit saying I owned the moon, but just because I filed it does not make it so. Moreover, justice is a slow process and it could be years before such a case was resolved.

      • Posted By: Cazador1972 @ 10/25/2008 2:47:06 AM

Please, don't bother fundies with facts! McCain was born in Panama but declared a US citizen since he was born on American soil to American parents. I guarantee you that if the facts were reversed and Obama had been the one born outside the 50 states, this crowd would be making an issue out of it.

A former Newsweek reporter admitted in an article this week that he has no objectivity and imagined disabling Rudy Giuliani so he wouldn't run in the presidential primary race last year.
Michael Hastings wrote in GQ magazine that he had a "recurring fantasy" that he could somehow stop the former New York City mayor in his tracks.
"I quickly realized Rudy was a maniac. I had a recurring fantasy in which I took him out during a press conference (it was nonlethal, just something that put him out of commission for a year or so), saving America from the horror of a President Giuliani. If that sounds like I had some trouble being 'objective,' I did. Objectivity is a fallacy," he said.

He is cocky. As a smoker, chances are Barack Obama will have lung cancer or throat cancer (good example for the youngsters). Then, Joe Biden will be our president. Eventually, Michelle Obama, following the footsteps of Hillary Clinton, will become our first black woman president. It is America's destiny.

    • Posted By: redmalamute @ 10/24/2008 11:08:32 PM

McCain also smoked. And, Obama has given it up. I didn't know that being a former smoker precluded you from being an effective president. Tell that to all the great presidents of the past including FDR.

      • Posted By: Vypurr @ 10/24/2008 11:28:54 PM

Obama has not quit. He tried, but has admitted that he is still smoking.

    • Posted By: chris s. @ 10/24/2008 8:50:51 PM

Obama is smart enough to know it's bad for him and try to quit. At least his brain is still nimble.

    • Posted By: nimodahooligan @ 10/24/2008 10:17:30 AM

wow, i dont normaly call people names but that was just plain stupid. a smoker??? what about out current president with DWI's and a old cocain and drug problem? you had no problems voting him into office

      • Posted By: Vypurr @ 10/24/2008 1:03:14 PM

Saying Obama is a smoker is not name calling, it is a fact. And unlike Obama, who still smokes, Bush quite drinking in 1986, years before he became President.

Of course, a former drug abuser himself you have no problems voting Obama into office.

I will not waste my time watching his psycho-babble. He will spend millions of dollars to aggrandize himself when the millions of dollars could have gone to a better cause, like feeding the hungry. He will try to make excuses for Joe Bidden and himself by using terms like refine, fine tune, tweaking my policies. He???ll say anything yet, his record shows he???s done nothing for the good of America. He???ll spin his associations with; Ayres, Fleger, Wright, Rezko, Jame Johnson, Franklin Rains, Acorn etc. He won???t even talk about the HUD grants for donors or his getting rich off the backs of good American people via Fanny & Freddie.
Obama will not get my vote because he is so very much less than honest.
Want to see America go down the drain,Vote Obama.
Want to see Iran and Venezuela and other terrorist states get their way???Vote Obama.
    Want higher taxes, Vote Obama.

Obama has run a historic campaign; in money raised, in his contact via email with supporters, and how well he has tied in a grass roots movement and new technologies. You bring up how that money could be better spent. At least Obama had links on the frontpage of his website to donate for the Midwest flood and for Hurrican Gustav and Ike, unlike McCain.

    • Posted By: jmatlock @ 10/24/2008 5:00:43 PM

You must be a paid right wing pundit, because that is the same line of BS that they have been spewing. Do you make $250,000 or more? If not, then I'd love to see the excuse you give on April 15 when you realize your taxes weren't cut. If you're not rich, you'd be stupid to vote for McSameMcCain. If McCain is elected, who are you gonna blame it on when you're shelling out more money to Uncle Sam?

      • Posted By: redmalamute @ 10/24/2008 10:25:36 PM

Turning a blind eye to someone, closes you off from being challenged as to your beliefs. If you don't like what you see, then don't vote for him. But to say that you will not watch, is just short sighted. Are you scared that he may cause you to change your preconceived beliefs about him?

Re Palin's ridicule of fruit fly research in her "policy" speech: The Mediterranean fruit fly aka Medfly is one of the most destructive insects in the world, posing the threat to decimate an entire region's agricultural industry. California has battled to eradidate and prevent infestations for decades with joint federal and state monitoring, restrictions and embargo against travelers bringing in fruits, vegetables, and plants from other areas, and quarantining entire counties. There is a joint agreement with Mexico to aggressively treat and prevent infestation from traveling between the countries. I don't know the particulars of the research program which Palin ridiculed but it is just another example of this woman's ignorance and intellectual laziness that she wouldn't first determine whether there was a legitimate purpose for the research before treating the fruit fly as a joke.

      Hi Ask,

Yes i just read that she made up the whole story. This story really angered me because she was playing to the old "Scary Violent Black Man Attacking the helpless White Woman" BS. Remember Kathy Smith in SC?

One word fits them both SKANK! These types of people will continue to do all that they can to keep this country from evolving. If it were in another country I would be surprised but with our history not so much, which really saddens me.

      • Posted By: AskPlus @ 10/24/2008 3:00:33 PM

Skank is right. How about the husband that shot his pregnant wife and said the same thing? I asked above what that will do to the Rep ticket.

        • Posted By: sjpersonal @ 10/24/2008 5:37:06 PM

They are now stating that friends of Ms. Todd are saying that she has mental problems. She was able to travel from TX to PA to campaign for McCain. I hope they fry her, not literally of course LOL! But this is someone who was deliberately attempting to start a racially based incident.

You know that if it had not come out that she lied this could have exploded. McCain called to comfort her, no one even bothered to wait to see if it was actually true. Again NO Vetting! He should have learned by now LOL!

          • Posted By: redmalamute @ 10/24/2008 10:32:35 PM

Not sure if this is true, but I heard that McCain's campaign manager in PA emblished her story to make it seem more like it was politically motivated. For example, that the attacker said that she would now be an Obama supporter.

Nathan Sproul (Voter Fraud), Steve Posner (California co Chairman funding YPM to keep his hands clean), Mark Jacoby (arrested and now on bail YPM ring leader) and now this guy, this is the year they the RNC gets caught for almost everything they got away with in 2000 AND 2004.

Search for your county supervisor of elections website check your eligiblity online and remember to VOTE EARLY because the faulty machines FROM 2004 STILL may not have been fixed. Even if you don't have a driver's license, you can get an NON DRIVER ID card from the DMV because THAT is how the Republican plan to STOP you from VOTING.

The RNC didn't pay Nathan Sproul and Co. over EIGHT MILLION DOLLARS in 2004-2005 for just voter registration. The RNC paid 10 times (before adjusting to inflation) the amount of money ACORN received so I'm sure whatever he did was BIG enough to get BUSH elected. That kind of pay off money has a way of influencing people to make 'things' disappear.

A prominent fundraiser for Sen. John McCain's presidential campaign is facing a new legal challenge over a lucrative Pentagon contract that involved shipping oil to military forces in Iraq. A competing firm filed a federal suit under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act this week against the fundraiser, Harry Sargeant III, and his company, International Oil Trading Company. The suit accuses them of a "bribery scheme" to pay officials in the Kingdom of Jordan, in an effort to keep competing firms out. Sargeant and his company deny wrongdoing and say no bribes were paid.

Sargeant is the Finance Chairman of the Republican Party of Florida, a key state in the upcoming presidential election. The federal lawsuit is the latest case to bring attention to him. NBC News first reported last May that Sargeant was awarded the Pentagon contract even though he was not the lowest bidder. NBC reported he was being sued in Florida state court by a former business partner who was the brother-in-law of the King of Jordan.

Bribes are banned under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, often called FCPA. "You are violating FCPA if you are paying money to a decision maker to obtain or retain business," explained Ethan S. Burger, an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center. "The question is who is the money going to. If the money is going to the government for a transshipping fee, that's not unusual." But--without weighing in on the merits of this case--he also explained that "bribes are sometimes disguised as fees."

Cindy McCain is seen Standing by her Man on the campaign trail. Barack Obama is mostly seen swaggering around without his wife on the campaign trail...probably because he realizes she is a liability to his campaign since many people cannot forget Michelle Obama's statement, "first time she has been proud of her country" after Barack did well in the primary campaign. It wouldn't surprise me if Barack Obama blames Michelle Obama and throws her under the bus if he loses the electiion. I don't think Barack Obama's excessive EGO would ever allow him to think he lost the election because enough people think he is not capable of handling the job of president!!! Cindy McCain is independently very wealthy. If she didn't have a special love and respect for John McCain she would not still be by his side. If you want to feel sorry for someone, you should feel sorry for Michelle Obama for living with an excessive EGO of a man like Obama. NOBAMA!!!! NOBAMA!!!! NOBAMA!!!!!

Now, which one is the trophy wife? One is able to speak, very eloquently, on her own. The other?

    • Posted By: dsqard @ 10/24/2008 9:27:15 AM

I can't see someone who is actually doing rallies on her own as a liability. Michelle is going to be doing all rallies today while Barak is in Hawaii visiting his very ill grandmother. Since Cindy doesn't seem to be doing the same thing, you have to wonder which wife is the liability. Anyway, I can tell that you have made up your mind for McCain. I am assuming you favor him because you feel he would do the best for you as president. That is fine. I wouldn't attack someone because they have a different opinion from mine. I do have a problem with your continued use of Barak's middle name for no other reason than to try to perpetuate the GOP lie that Obama is a muslim. Even Colin Powell has been disgusted with the "wink and a nod" attitude of the senior party officials with this sentiment. One of the biggest problems that McCain has been having is that he has been out of touch with mainstream America in the last couple of months. He is courting the GOP base only which is going to support him anyway. Mainstream America is sick of divisiveness and wants to hear clear and sane reasons from each candidate as to why they should vote for them. If you want your opinion to be heard, drop the Hussien and just state what you feel. If you truely feel that you need to include Obama's middle name to make your point, you might want to look at why you are really voting for John McCain.

  • Posted By: Morgan2008 @ 10/24/2008 5:06:12 AM

Everyone in my household won't be watching the exhibition of "The Barack Hussein Obama EGO" on display. I have already heard everything Obama has to say and it is smooth, talk, talk, talk rhetoric to try and make people forget he is not qualified or ready to be president. We already know he has a record of being a radical socialist who wants to redistribute and spread the wealth in America. .It is already like hearing and watching a rerun show that has been around too long!!!! There is no way I would want to listen to Barack Obama four more years!!!

The speech I can't wait to hear from Barack Hussein Obama is his Concession Speech and hear him congratulate our next president, John McCain. I didn't plan on voting for a Republican this year but John McCain has a record of working with both parties and I believe he will reform Washington and make it work for all Americans the way our constitution intended. I didn't vote for G.W. Bush either time so if John McCain was like Bush I wouldn't vote for him. I WILL NOT vote for a candidate like Barack Hussein Obama who is so far left of center that he can't see center. NOBAMA!!!!! NOBAMA!!!!!

Admit it. It was his middle name that turned you off right? Do you realise it is an ETHNIC name and nothing else. If it was Italian, German, Irish would you feel the same? I was given a very ethnic name at birth and am as American as anybody. Born here, however it was rough as a child. In college, I actually went by my middle name, then decided to embrace it. Good grief, the world is very big. Deal with it and having a president with a odd middle name couldn't be the worst of your problems. Just stop using it to scare people. That's just being ignorant.

To Morgan2008 ; Michelle Obama might not be on her husbands side at all times but that only means that she is caught up campaigning for her husband elsewhere. That shows us the commitment she has for her husbands' campaign and it also shows us what an asset she really is for the country. She would absolutely without doubt be the perfect first lady with purpose compared with Cindy McCain.

    • Posted By: chris s. @ 10/24/2008 9:05:36 PM

Michelle Obama is a very bright, independent woman. Not arm candy; which McCain seems to gravitate to. For pete's sake, just look at his history. He only met Palin once before nominating her and was taken by her. Wonder why? Let's not even go into the history of his first marriage and courtship of Cindy. At least Obama picked a woman of substance, whose opinion and not just money and looks is what he respects.

I prefer a First Lady who has always been proud of her country as I have always been proud of my country. Clinton catered to European opinion so that we'd be "liked." The result was him doing nothing while we got our asses kicked on a regular basis, as in when the WTC was bombed the first time, our embassies attacked, and the attack on the USS Cole. You can have people like you while getting your ass kicked and doing nothing about it, or you can be ill-thought of when you defend yourself. Both Clinton and Bush have proved you can't have it both ways. As for me, I'll take the latter.

Because anyone with a sence of world events, knows that there is going to be another attack. It doesnt bear re-telling. The question is, do we spend our money and childrens lives for nothing, or do we get our act together and put some strength where it belongs, at the borders. This is Binladens dream, and he's biding his time. 10 billion a month can seal a lot of holes in the border. That doesnt seem to occur to the reps. When they smuggle a bomb through the borders that Bush seems to think are so safe that we can go spend our money in Iraq, itll be the dems fault. Its amazing that this makes sence to some people, thankfully not the majority of them anymore.

So, don't watch. Nobody will miss you.

      Use a dictionary.

Why is this ''must see'',simply because Keith Olbermanns poodle Dick Wolffe sez it is?

    • Posted By: AskPlus @ 10/24/2008 3:11:37 PM

The media's are saying it is "must see" because this is the first time this type of thing was done since color TV. Secondly, Obama has the cash to do it due to heavy contributions, and his opponent does not. It is also hush-hush, so no one knows if it is going to be a Ross Perot like detailed explanation on how to fix economies, or a fireside chat about who he is. But you knew this because you're Mr.Holmes. But you don't have to watch. It's a free country.

Yes... Obama has the cash because he blatantly lied about taking public finance and can now outspend McCain. Easy to do when you'll say anything to get into power.

You have to do what you can to beat the Rove machine. Say what you want, they are good at what they do.
          Take 2004 for instance.

Mr. Obama has cash because he asked for it - and did turn down public finances. He said he thought he could get more by asking - and did. He changed his mind. You would too. That's called reform. You should be happy not to be paying for some one's lies unless you want to.

Obama lied, period. And he did it right in front of McCain and Hillary Clinton.

Obama is a Centrist - big time. It's really sad but people hold overly-addictive core beliefs that are stronger than truth or common sense. When presented with undeniable evidence that works against that belief, the new evidence won't be processed, accepted or for the most part - acknowledged. That kind of cognitive dissonance acts as emotional firewall and new information is re-directed. To them, it is so important to protect their cores they rationalize and deny anything that doesn't fit within their core. We all do it to a certain extent, but what makes them "crazy" is not being "able" to take a minute, write it down and solve. So, we have posters like - well you know.

Obama is a centrist? Laugh my ass off! His voting record in 2007 ranked him the most LIBERAL person in the Senate! Geez Louise, take off your Obama smoked-up glasses!

Friends, who made their presidential choice based on their religious commitment, have recently made the McCain-Palin recommendation to me and I have real difficulty understanding that. First, I think that the strong memory of what has transpired over the last eight years makes anyone???s 2000/2004 decision to support Bush-Cheney, based on their appeal to conservative Christians, highly questionable. Next, talking about ???Christian values??? amounts to more than just ???pro-life???, marriage between a man and a woman and stem-cell research ethics, to really include honesty, integrity, equitable consideration of others and responsibility in government and also should be seen as appropriate ???human values???, not just Christian. Additionally, it has always been my understanding that all religions teach that connecting with God/Allah/Yahweh/? is only achieved through humility, by getting out of one???s self rather than being egotistically ostentatious (which is then about one???s ego rather than God). Too many times it appears that many who are running around yelling ???alleluia, alleluia, praise be to thee??? are actually just saying ???look at me, look at me, aren???t I something to see???. I???ll match my faith with anyone without ever needing to flaunt it, personally feeling that the quiet connection has the real quality and sincerity. All of that said, I really question the forthrightness of those who solicit the benefit of the religious vote based on what they say and on how demonstrative they are yet lack honesty, integrity, compassion and humility as clearly demonstrated in what transpired over the last eight years, in their supporting that and in how they conduct themselves when campaigning. Once considering these things I then have no hesitation in giving Obama and Bidden credit for their superior conduct and more convincing faith orientated consciences and feel that when I vote for them I won???t be co-responsible for ???more of the same???.

You tread a difficult and dangerous road there, but I couldn't agree with you more. It really bothers me to hear about pastors preaching that we should have some sort of new 'crusade' against islam. I often wonder if any of these people ever really read the bible at all? and by that I mean the NEW testament specifically the part that talks about inclusiveness and showing humility etc. 911 was hard for everyone, and it's ok to be angry, but we can't let it change who we are as people, and what the country stands for. I think some branches of the religious right are taking teh rhetoric way too far, and they have sown teh seeds for some of the republican dissention we are seeing now.
